1541  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Safebit Bitcoin Wallet - Bitcoin Evolved [UPDATE!!!] on: April 22, 2012, 12:02:40 PM
No movement in 9 months, according to GitHub - https://github.com/elis/bitcoin-wallet

Anyone have any info on this ?

I currently have it installed in Chrome and it seems to run quite well for basic operations, although I remove my credentials before I close it when I use it....lol
It's the stigma of it being listed as 'Alpha' even though there's probably nothing wrong with it and can go into production yesterday....

Hopefully this project continues.
1542  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: anyone got hash rates for the amd ati FirePro V8800 ? on: April 22, 2012, 09:54:40 AM
It's a 'fancy' 5870 (Cypress/1600 SPs).

A little after midnight UTC (~5 hours ago as of this post) even passthrough mining on the private pool isn't working for me, and I wasn't have any of the problems anyone else has mentioned today. The site is still accessible, though.

That sucks....

Is it just me, or does anyone else get a bit scared when Pirate is so 'silent'....
(or does that silence/worry only apply to the Bitcoin Bank thread ?....lol)

1544  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Best Mining OS on: April 22, 2012, 08:37:09 AM
I switched all 55 rigs to BAMT leaving Windows 7. Best mining decision of my life.

Obviously that's a bit different. He's talking about something quite a bit smaller in scope than what you have just advertised.
Learning a Linux distro makes no sense for a single miner. For 55, it makes no sense not to, as Windows would be a nightmare with anything over 10 I would imagine.
I have less than 10 dedicated mining rigs, but all use Windows 7. If I were to grow any larger, I would switch to Linux.
1545  Economy / Lending / Re: Business Loans/Investment (1k or more BTC available per application) on: April 22, 2012, 08:08:08 AM
..........a group of lenders (currently IBM, BDK, INAU, Mark, and HashKing) .......

Not to 'dirty' up your thread, but I just wanted to express my sincere and best wishes in this joint venture.
I always wanted to see a group/collective such as the one listed, come together to further increase lending power, control, safety and information sharing/collecting etc.

This is definitely a step in the right direction and I wish you all the best of luck. I truly believe that you guys are on the brink of something great, by joining forces.

The possibilities of what such a group could do for the Bitcoin Community are definitely not limited to Lending funds only.
If ever there was the beginnings of a truly trusted network of possible Arbitrators and misc Negotiators, this could definitely be IT.

Cheers,
bitlane.

Perhaps Pirate can once and for all put some of the recent posts/questions to rest with a couple of quick answers and a small update as to what exactly is happening currently with GPUMAX ?

As far as the IRC Chan goes, I didn't sign up for my account on IRC (as most people didn't) so I hope that I don't have to go there for news.

It would be nice to see this thread get used for more than arguing and complaints.
1547  Economy / Services / Re: GPUMAX | The Bitcoin Mining Marketplace on: April 22, 2012, 12:34:39 AM
........given that I can't test this easily to work around some of their violations of the protocol standard.

You really need to clarify that statement, as the way it's written, it's essentially an attack, albeit vague, but enough to give onlookers the wrong idea if taken out of context.
Not cool.

Also, as I recall, you have been given the opportunity to streamline YOUR operation by jumping onboard the CGMiner bandgwagon, by paying part of the bounty to have your hardware supported. Considering CGMiner makes up a large portion of the miner's software, I would start there rather than ranting about your 1-off software having problems with GPUMAX's service. Open up that fat wallet and take care of business.

What makes more sense ? YOU helping pay a bounty to get your hardware supported by CGMiner ? or, Pirate bowing down to the users of your software, which pale in comparison on a purely numbers-only basis.

Think about it.
1548  Economy / Services / Re: GPUMAX | The Bitcoin Mining Marketplace on: April 21, 2012, 11:02:42 PM
Same here. No reaction from the pirate since like a months regarding this topic.
This seems to be all-broken these days anyway, so there's probably no point in even waiting for an invite. Potential customers will probably have run away by the time they get this working right.
OUCH !
I think it's fair to say that the system is and always has been in BETA testing (up to this point and for a bit longer it seems).
Pirate has never promised any more or any less than that, nor has he set a 'Production-Phase' Start Date, so no one should be let down....

Posting negative comments about the service is no way to speed up the processing of your invite to participate...lol
1549  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Best Mining OS on: April 21, 2012, 07:48:45 PM
......Sorry, I'm new to this whole process.
Then run Windows and call it a day.
No sense in getting fancy and spending all of your time trying to learn a new OS when you could be generating BTC.

I run Windows 7 on all my rigs and have never had a problem in nearly a year of mining....well, nothing that would make me want to learn Linux.

1552  Economy / Lending / Re: Looking for Loan: 230 BTC for 2 months on: April 21, 2012, 12:22:16 PM
I see. I am able to get the coins out this Monday, but it would take a particularly appealing deal. Let us know if you cannot come to terms with hashking!

I too have one of those 'investments' that pays on Mondays, so if you are like me...you would rather keep that BTC in there (if we are talking about the same 'bank'), as I doubt I could match the return that you would get from keeping it in there until the 30th or later if you are able.

I have a history with hashking and have borrowed before, so I can't see any reason for us not to come to terms, but again, I do appreciate the offer.

1553  Economy / Lending / Re: Looking for Loan: 230 BTC for 2 months on: April 21, 2012, 12:06:49 PM
I have my coins locked up until the 30th, but may be interested.

Some questions:
  • Will you be able to pay back in the unlikely event of your miner completely failing?
  • What will the coins be used for?
  • Would you be willing to supply personal information?

I am going to use part of the loan to consolidate another small loan which is due on the 29th, so unfortunately your offer of the 30th or later would not work.
I appreciate the offer though.

As far as what I plan to do with it, well, a small consolidation as I said above along with a bit of equipment to add to my farm/network.
I also have no problem supplying further info. I have however already been verified by the larger lenders on the forum, but no problem either way. I have nothing to hide.

Fortunately mining makes up a very small part of my monthly BTC revenue, as most comes from other investments and dividend payments etc, which I normally re-invest and just take loans to 'spread the wealth'. I enjoy 'stimulating' the BTC economy Wink

I have since replied to hashking's PM and will await whatever decision we come to in regards to terms etc.

Thanks again.

1554  Economy / Lending / [FUNDED] Loan: 230 BTC for 2 months on: April 21, 2012, 10:42:17 AM
Hopefully someone can help me out with this, as it might be difficult to do this with 2 or more people unfortunately.

I am currently looking for a loan of 230 BTC over a payback period of 2 months.

As far as interest rate goes, I am open to offers. I have good credit on the forum and am invested into the BTC economy in a couple different places.
For Lenders that allow me to list them, You can see my forum loan history here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=67666
As you will see, I am not an OTC user, so I use that thread as my Credit Reference/History.
I also maintain a 6GH Mining Farm at home, which I am constantly looking to add to.

Here's essentially what I am looking to get:
- 230 BTC for 2 months.
- 1st month, set interest rate, regular MPR.
- 2nd month, daily interest rate, so that I have further incentive to get the loan paid off early.
- During this period, I will be making payments.
- At the 30 day mark (or 1 month as lender decides), have the total re-evaluated and subject to a non-compounding daily (or weekly) interest rate from then on.

Why the difficult terms ?....lol
1) I know I can pay off early, but most lenders want a guaranteed return for their troubles. This way, they atleast know their return for the first 30 days.
2) As I said above, this gives me further incentive to pay back early.

Example: (using my amount above @ 10%, your interest rate offer may vary, this is just an example)
230 BTC Loan @ 10% MPR.
At 30 days, total payback is 253 BTC, regardless of early payoff or not.
(if 130 BTC paid off during 1st month)
100 BTC remaining at 0.33% per day (10%/30 days).
Remainder paid in 20 days ? (20x0.33% = 6.6% Interest total)

106.6 BTC final payout, 20 days.

As further incentive to make the second month a daily interest rate, I am willing to pay an additional percent or 2 above the first month's interest rate for the trouble.

Hopefully this all makes sense and I look forward to hearing back from potential Lenders.

Thanks,
bitlane.

<EDIT>
I would ask that my prospective lender provide me with a new and unique BTC repayment address that I can make small/oddball payments to regularly and track on Block explorer....and doesn't have a problem with multiple small payments during the first month from my mining income. I will try to make it as painless as possible for repayment and interest calculations for the second month in a larger or larger payments during the daily interest preiod.
thanks.
bitlane.

1557  Bitcoin / Mining / When you sell/lease a Mining Contract.... on: April 21, 2012, 07:47:18 AM
When you sell/lease a Mining Contract, do you allow your Buyers a chance to watch the miners/hardware while it's mining ?

Would you like to ?

I have been toying around with Jim's CGMiner Web Monitoring script ever since he released the first version.
It does everything one would expect and can be customized to meet almost any situation.

I am wondering if this can be of use to a seller of Mining contracts, to allow the buyers to view the hardware that they are paying for ?

It needs only minimal setup, can be used multiple times on the same web server and will only monitor the hosts you tell it to.
There are no controls, so it will not allow a user to negatively affect your setup in any way.
It also has basic anti-flood protection to keep the user from reloading the page excessively.
It auto reloads/updates every 45 seconds (can be changed) with a visible counter.
The anti-flood protection is set for 30 secs by default, but can also be changed. Once directed to the anti-flood page, a message appears and then redirects back to the monitor page after (default) 15 secs which can also be changed.

There is a basic index.php page (the monitor), a couple css and includes files and an anti-flood.html page.
For setup: specify the Host/Miner names, specify time zone (optional), change refresh/anti-flood times (if desired).....that's it.
No database required.
CGMiner can be run in Restricted mode (as no controls are present) to further enhance security if required).

I am currently using a wamp server on Windown server 2008 for my network and to host the live example.
No Linux required...lol

If any Mining Contract sellers find this useful, contact me and I will be more than happy to provide you with a copy.

For regular users, I will have the full version with mining & pool controls available soon.

I am not asking anything for this. There is a link to Jim's website that will have his donation address posted.
I would ask that all donations be sent to him, not me. All I did was some basic CSS stuff and the antiflood integration, making it work for this type of application.

Anti-flood.html page/message

Monitoring page (update countdown visible/real time, so viewers know down to the second, when page will update)

Your promoting malware "jokingly" But to a noob they cant tell the differance and download the malware. Get a rootkit, And get Fucked.

WHERE'S THE DOWNLOAD LINK YOU FUCKING GENIUS ?
Why not pull your head out of your ass and try find it, because I sure as shit don't have nor did I post anything in regards to where to get it.

Get the fuck off of Bitcointalk.org you fucking troll.
I'd rather be a troll than a bottom feeder trying to scrape up BTC on that fancy website of yours for 80% of market value, then having the audacity to use 'Canadian' in your web address and company name.......LMFAO.

I sure as shit hope that you did your homework, because it would be a shame for Revenue Canada to get tipped off by a Troll.

Now go fuck yourself.
1559  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: CGminer - web monitor beta v0.5 [switch pools all rigs] on: April 19, 2012, 06:44:16 PM
actually there is a new version out there..  has some new features, such as add pool (untested ) and heatindex.

I did not release publicly yet mainly because the addpool stuff is NOT tested..  you need the a more recent version of cgminer then I am running, which is why I could not test.

add a version number to the old download and see if that works.
JIm
Got it...and it looks good as usual.

What exactly is 'heatindex' ? ....how is it calculated ?
Sorry, I am just not familiar with it, but 1 or 2 of my cards lit up with red boxes because of it...lol
