Yes,its never too late, dont invest too much at the begging, start low and if you make profit do higher amounts. good luck

It's too late if you invest the day before the end.

Hi all !

IMHO all alt coin is premine scam  Grin

What, even the ones that weren’t pre-mined?
16885  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: When bitcoins are no longer rewarded, why would people mine? on: January 18, 2014, 06:22:00 PM
Why bitcoin is so un$table?

Why do think it should be stable?

I don't know. but the real currencies are stable. so i think it should be either.

"Real currencies" haha. Bitcoin is stable. 1 Bitcoin is worth 1 Bitcoin. It's only unstable with people who peg it to the dollar and these "real currencies".
16886  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Fuckcoin [FUCK] on: January 18, 2014, 06:14:06 PM
5% premine, do not expect much attention.

Technically it's less than 5% pre-mine, so it could be 0%. It could also be 4.9% Tongue

It might be more too. Has somebody checked the sourcecode?
16887  Other / Off-topic / Re: What would you have done? on: January 18, 2014, 06:12:53 PM
Fear isnt a reason to attack legally. Otherwise even the scary look of a person could justify beating him. I think the guy only enjoyed fearing you. And it worked fine for him.
I think i would have tried not showing him that im concerned and trying not to escalate it. Going away from him into the shop was the right decision. Such scumbags arent worth that you turn your life negative because that would have happened when you attacked him or when you escalated it and he attacked you. Its simply not worth it. "Does the moon care when the dogs bark at it." Your above that and only fight back when needed. Though i know of course that its really hard in such situations because one normally doesnt have these every day so its a high adrenaline situation for nearly every person.
I know in TV people get shown to beat for "protecting honour" or similar stupid reasons but in real life these guys ends worse than the beaten. For a reason.
You're kidding right...? Fear isn't a reason to attack legally? Read up on this: http://usnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2013/10/03/20800978-family-involved-in-suv-biker-clash-was-in-fear-for-our-lives?lite

I hope you see a difference in there. If i understand it right the biker attacked the car not only verbally but physically so that life threatening is in the range of possibility. Fear alone isnt enough for self defense... there must be valid reasons that your health or even life is in danger.
No, the biker was just being assholes. They boxed in the SUV and slowed down, and SUV accidentally tapped the back of a biker and stopped completely. A biker started walking towards the SUV (to talk or to fight) SUV got scared and sped off, running over and paralyzing one of the biker.

It's basically like a woman being stalked by a guy in a dark alley, fear wouldn't justify her macing him?

Can you define being 'stalked'? I don't want to be walking home the same way as the woman in front of me and she turns round and decides to mace me just in case I might be a rapist.
16888  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoins : Is it worth investing at this late stage? on: January 18, 2014, 06:05:51 PM
I have been having a chat with my Dad about whether it is worth investing in five or ten bitcoins in the hope that their value may go even higher in the next 2 years. Can you guys give a quick opinion about where you see the value of Bitcoins in 2 years from now. Have they reached their peak or is there still a long way up from here? Your opinions would be appreciated.

Nobody can know that for sure. It depends if Bitcoin start out to be a success. If they are , then this is just the beginning. But this also requires for people to actually use BTC.

Either way. This is not a late stage as Bitcoin just got out of the shadows and into Mainstream.

As above. Nobody can guarantee you anything with an investment and with any investment there's always risk. However, if Bitcoin keeps growing and gaining more mainstream adoption, then it's very likely that the price will go along with that, but nothing is guaranteed. Only you can choose whether to take the gamble and invest.
16889  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: MemeCoin wallet on: January 18, 2014, 05:56:56 PM
As a newbie I have to break my duck in this section, and I will start with a problem. Two days ago my MemeCoin wallet went out of sync, when I restarted it, it claimed it was synced again. But after a few minutes it goes out of sync again. He is syncing but very very slowly, I don't know what the problem is, I tried downloading it again but it didn't help, I updated the nodes in the conf file but still nothing. At this rate it might sync by spring Cheesy

'Break my duck'? Never heard that before haha. Do you have coins in there? Some of these crapcoin wallets never synch for one reason or another.
16890  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: When bitcoins are no longer rewarded, why would people mine? on: January 18, 2014, 05:42:30 PM
When bitcoins are no longer rewarded, why would people mine? Isn't it crucial for the system of bitcoins that a network of GPU power is available to keep the ledger going. What happens when no reward is given for this computational work?

Janus

Then they will receive payment for transaction fees.
16891  Other / Meta / Re: Image proxy protect people from themself? Passes exif on: January 18, 2014, 05:40:14 PM
Yes they can remove it themself

People usually use imgur which sanitizes

Oh, I might've got it mixed up with imgur actually.
16892  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If Satoshi was not an unknown person, would Bitcoin have turned out different? on: January 18, 2014, 05:28:36 PM
if everything about bitcoin stays the same, except when satoshi released it, he was recognized by his real person.

say he was a computer scientist, similar to linus torvalds creating Linux.

would bitcoin have turned out different then?

Doubt anything would be different, but the enigmatic nature of Bitcoin's creator may add to its allure and drives interest and publicity speculating on who it actually is.

I'm fine without ever knowing who (t)he(y) are/is. I wonder if the coins he owns will ever move though. People will shit a universe-sized brick if even one moves or goes on a journey haha.

Good idea to earn Bitcoins, but remember to use escrow. There's a list of trusted escrowers in the marketplace.

16895  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Coinye Coin the future alt trade coin? on: January 18, 2014, 05:16:24 PM
Put it this way, Coinye has currently brought more to Bitcoin than it has to itself in that it raised the profile of Bitcoin, while simply imploding on itself.

I don't see any evidence that the devs were doing anything revolutionary to make crypto easier for the masses. They just tried to cash in on a gimmick and didn't have the balls/lawyers to see it through.

Bitcoin wasn't tarred with legal action before it hit exchanges. I can't ever see a 'major' exchange trading Coinye, and I don't think that Coinye would make any 'small' exchange become major.

Mind, it doesn't hurt to casually mine a few Coinye I suppose...

Maybe one exchange might not cave in to legal pressure.
16896  Other / Off-topic / Re: What other ways do you use to make money online? on: January 18, 2014, 05:10:50 PM
I pretend to be a woman online and set up a website pretending to be a financial dominatrix. Every now and again I get random shit sent to me from my Amazon Wishlist and I smile. Men are idiots.

but you're men too, that makes you an idiot Cheesy

Not really. People are idiots too. I am also a person.
16897  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Finders keepers? I found an address with 50 BTC via brain wallet! on: January 18, 2014, 05:08:37 PM
I was playing around with the brain wallet and checking the addresses with blockchain. I found a wallet with a balance of 50 BTC! The coins were put in the wallet in 2011 and there hasn't been any activity since. I don't want to steal someones coins but if they are "lost" I don't want to have them just sitting there. It's a lot of money!  I was thinking of sending a small amount into the wallet with a message letting the person know the situation. If nothing happens after a while I guess it's "Finders Keepers, Losers Weepers." What's the right thing to do in this situation?

Maybe I missed something here but how do you plan on claiming the coins exactly? And how do you know they're not saving the coins? Just because the wallet is dormant doesn't mean they're lost.
16898  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do I achieve my goal of owning 10BTC in 2014 on: January 18, 2014, 04:59:21 PM
I find it absolutely wonderful that if someone posts from my IP that it forces me, on a separate computer to wait an additional 6 minutes to be able to post my new comment on the newbie section...which then allows me to start the wait to post in normal forums. Boy oh Boy this is just so incredibly awesome. I love the way this is set up and hope every single forum that exists today begins to implement this method.

Causing frustration is the greatest power there is and it seems to be utilized so well right now. It makes me want to obtain a second IP just for me so that I can post without having to worry if someone else is on it. God forbid someone else use the same IP to make a post eh? OH BOY MY FIRST POST IS DONE

The person posting for you IP was you. You need to wait a full 6 minutes before you post after you log-in. Attempted posts also count.
16899  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The last posting from your IP was less than 360 seconds ago. Please try again la on: January 18, 2014, 04:57:44 PM
It wont let me post anywhere at all. I havent posted once yet.

Log-ins and attempted posts count and reset the timer. You need to wait the full 6 minutes.

I kind of expected after several days and more than 20 posts, I wouldn't have to wait 360 seconds between posts... 6 minutes is ridiculous.  For the first few hours or posts or whatever, to keep down spam, I get it.  How long does this shit have to go on?

It decreases the more activity you get. Mine is about 28 seconds now.

I'm just saying, this is super tedious and discourages savvy users from wanting to deal with this shit.  Great, newb jail, but after a couple dozen posts, it just makes me want to gtfo and not waste my time playing games with trying to post here.

***
Holy fuck, it just happened again, because I guess it's just been under 6 minutes.  I've read the forums and been in the community a long time, just never got around to signing up and trying to contribute.  Now that I try to contribute, it's one time waster after another, so glad I made the leap to sign up.

It's annoying for sure but everyone has to deal with it. Just persevere and the limit will be lifted soon.

How about we donate in Sexcoin? I think that helps their cause plus he would be buying something from that site anyway right?

I'll accept Sexcoin  Wink. Will you be donating to the fund?  Grin Tongue

Of course Smiley So are we promoting two guys or is this a race to see who shows more?  Roll Eyes

I dunno. Maybe the first to post the image(s) wins the bounty? But remember, I am Brad Pitt  Wink. I cannot say if Guybrush will live up to me aesthetically  Grin.
