How long it need usually after post the PM with payout information, until the payment is done?

Under a day or two, but Stunna mentioned he was busy today so maybe it might take a little longer.
16982  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: U.S. announces forfeiture of $28 million of bitcoins belonging to Silk Road on: January 16, 2014, 10:58:26 PM
Free coins to everyone on bitcointalk.org?

Every single one should be donated to charities. Not only would that get mass adoption by charities of bitcoin but it wuld help millions of people even if in just a small way.

Maybe they should dish it out as compo to all their drone victims or the millions of kids they've orphaned.

Website is indeed currently down, we are looking into this.

Will my 1000 Satoshis be safe?  Grin.

I'm also looking forward to the new site and how the referrals will work.

Is it just me, but the website is down?

I think it might be. I had it open in my browser and went to place a bet and the go never loaded. Hope I haven't lost my 0.00001000 haha.
16985  Other / Off-topic / Re: Is it a good idea to drop out from college and invest in Crypto Currencies? on: January 16, 2014, 08:54:35 PM
Depends on a lot of variables. I've got mates with masters degrees stacking shelves in a supermarket yet a few other people I know left school at 16 and run their own businesses on 6 figure salaries. Really depends on the type of person you are and what course you're studying.

Same. One of my best mates has two degrees and is earning around 20k a year. One of my other mates has hardly any basic qualifications and works in a bacon factory and makes roughly the same.
16986  Other / Meta / Re: Marketplace on: January 16, 2014, 06:36:44 PM
I'm basically asking for it to actually be moderated with some very basic fundamental posting rules in place to help make it work better for everyone.

I'll give it a few minutes before the mods/admins tell you how they've got better things to do and how more rules or moderating wont help etc haha.
16987  Other / Meta / Re: Marketplace Trust Rating Question on: January 16, 2014, 06:30:46 PM
Hey everyone,

I see people with trust ratings like:

but when I look at my own trust rating it's

I have done a few successful trades on here, so why would my trust still be at zero?

Cheers.

Because they have to be on the 'trusted' members list. There's an explanation of the trust system somewhere. I'll try find it.
16988  Other / Meta / Re: The last posting from your IP was less than 360 seconds ago. Please try again on: January 16, 2014, 06:26:49 PM
It's very annoying. It forces me to reboot the router every time in order to get a new IP. Is there any way this can be disabled (for example a donation)?

Everybody has to deal with it. Get more activity and it'll go down from 360 seconds.
16989  Other / Meta / Re: Marketplace on: January 16, 2014, 06:15:32 PM
I would be willing to moderate or help, but I have been getting really irritated in marketplace and auctions:

1.  Require Asking Price, negotiable or not, in any subforum for anything you are selling except auctions
2.  Require auction terms
- Start/Stop
-Bid increment
-etc.
3.  Maybe sub forum for those checking prices
4.  Selling Hints (Sticky) - Pictures with date and forum name, Escrow through who or running list of those available/trusted and costs, shipping terms, payment terms etc.

It seems a lot of people get scammed or crap usesles threads are created with little to no info and a lot of BTC flows through the Marketplace here, you can't prevent all scamming, but at least standardize.  I've seen it work on other forums and it would work here to require certain elements to the post and if they aren't there PM the user and post with a  time frame to fix or it will be deleted.

I don’t understand what you're asking exactly. You want them to implement some kind of in-built crypto-ebay or something? The marketplace isn't ideal but I don't think it's meant to be a perfect market - it's there if you want to use it and use it at your own risk. And a warning about escrow is already stickied. People don't read it anyway. If people post threads of crap just don't buy something from them or tell them where they're going wrong.

I've claimed mine so am starting again: 3311 posts.

I'm at 6 posts at the moment, recommended by one of your other forum posters, hilariousandco.

I understand that I need to get to 50 to do this, so my first 44 won't count toward my 50 minimum for a payout.

Cheers

Activity is different to post count and you need ten posts to have a signature. You snooze you lose Grin.

hahah dude you got paid

Eh, what are you talking about?

16993  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are Dogecoins a good value? on: January 15, 2014, 12:05:48 AM
Hey guys, I'm new in the forum! I started mining with my personal nvidia gtx graphics card, but I had planned to buy an AMD for mining Litecoins... do you think Dogecoins will rise and will be better profitable? Wink

They'll probably be more profitable to you as opposed to mining Litecoins, but Dogecoins are not a good investment for the future. Maybe you could trade the Doges for something else though.
16994  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to earn bitcoins? on: January 14, 2014, 11:06:32 PM
Still not sure if this will work, but im almost there:

You could try this out, im at 0,92 bitcoin now:
MyBitcoinJob

What's that exactly and how and for doing what have you earned 0.92BTC, or is this just a way of getting people to click on a referral link?
16995  Economy / Goods / Re: Who runs this site? Would you like to make Bitcointalk.org Merch? on: January 14, 2014, 05:48:14 PM
I wonder, why isn't there a "Shop" section already...

There isn't a good reason to add one, the site doesn't need more money.

Why does everything everything always have to be about money? Wink

This thread kind of proves why a shop section might not be a bad idea.  People what something with Bitcoin on it, in this case a tshirt.  Site doesnt need to make money off of it.

You can never have too much money and if you feel like you have, just give some to charitable entities or maybe set up our own  Bitcointalk.org charity. This would be a great way to spread the word and to do something good with the money.
16996  Other / Meta / Re: Paid signatures poll on: January 14, 2014, 05:07:49 PM
I've eliminated those giant annoying signatures from our thread, not sure what I was thinking at the time. I've noticed there is a serious divide between those with paid signatures and those without them and I'd be happy to work towards a fair compromise.

While I think the signatures were good in bringing a lot of new users to the forum and convincing lurkers to register, I feel that overall they are now starting to have a negative effect if left unchanged. Ive updated our thread to restrict the next term to users with 50+ activity which should eliminate a strong amount of the spammers. If you have other suggestions please let me know and if the staff of bitcointalk would like me to discontinue this I'd be more than willing to comply. Just banning PD signatures per Whisker's suggestion wouldn't really do anything except bring in loads more threads, the only reason why there are few competitors is because our rates are very high.

Thanks
Thanks! I think this thread is pretty much over that you've resolved this, also hilariousandco: I took your advice. ;P

Your signature hurts my eyes as I find the font difficult to read, please change it  Tongue. I think there's always compromises and middle ground to be found with things like this as opposed to outright bans. Now, get reporting spammers and bots  Cheesy.

Oh, and Whiskers I think you need to update you FAQ to accommodate these questions. Been a few threads recently  Cheesy.
16997  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Request White List on: January 14, 2014, 01:35:48 PM
Hi all,

I want to be in the white list for being able ton post in the fast-pool.com topic.

Thanks

I don't think mods check or whitelist people anymore. You just need to actively browse for four hours and make sure to have at least one post containing several sentences. Read the newbie read me in this forum for further details.

Do you accept Escrow?  Grin. I doubt anyone will pay you to troll, I think most people just create a new account and do it themselves.

Hi,

I am newbie in this forum and first of all I want to wish good luck to all members of this forum.
I own some  " COINYE " domains and I would like to introduce these domains here.

What are you going to do when the tool that is Kanye West sends his lawyers round with his cease and desists?  Grin
17000  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Megacoin on: January 13, 2014, 10:24:20 PM
It could be someone from the other admins from their forum.

I don't care who kimoto is, all I know that the staff is good.

I think they just tried to leech a bit of publicity off Mega and Kim Dotcom to be honest.
Well, aren't we all trying to succeed somehow? Smiley
Nothing bad with that. They didn't said kimoto was Kim.com, they just didn't deny it either.

Trying to succeed by leeching off other peoples work? I don't think that's any way to get ahead.
It's not leeching exactly. They didn't say anything about the coin having something in common with Kim.com

I'm not a big fan of MEC, but I like it. I'm a member of their forum for the last 2 months and I'm watching everything.

It's called Megacoin and is branded exactly like Mega. I thought it was created by Kim Dotcom at first the resemblance was that uncanny.
