Thinking about it.  With all the recent scams what kind of ID would you offer?  We have been thinking about requiring your real address with verification which would take a few days (we send you a snail mail with a code in it).  Would that work for you?

Burt,

a better possibility would be to utilize paypal.  Have Bitlane send you like a dollar for an item to be shipped.. Look up the verified address via paypal, then refund the cash.

this address has to be valid, or at least had to be, via credit card billing and or bank account information.

Just a thought.

That's actually a great idea...... I never even thought about that.

Anyways, BURT, sent you some info.

I don't mind at all. There are a number of ways I can verify my physical address, real name....anything you like.

I'm simply not in a position to disappear for 100 BTC when I have far more invested through various community programs and other opportunities.

If you are interested in taking on the entire balance of my loan, let me know and I will work to provide you whatever details you wish.
1824  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Problem underclocking 6870s on: February 10, 2012, 01:01:56 PM
It is -150Mhz not -100Mhz.  It might be a typo but you keep making same claim so just wanted to clarify.  Lowest meclock = core clock - 150.
My 6870's will only do 100Mhz mem-diff. (Diamond/Reference).
My 6950's will do 150Mhz mem-diff. (1GB Non-Ref).

It seems unlikely that you are getting 22 shares a minute from a quad 6950 rig unless it's overclocked almost double stock rates.  1 GH/s = about 13 - 14 sh/minute, you'd need to be pulling around 1.8 GH/s at the least to get a stead 22 shares a minute and I don't think the 6950's have the muscle for that.

Very likely, trust me.

[Quad 6950 Rig] Currently running just shy of a solid 1500 MH/s (1490 +/- 10MH/s) doing 20.7 shares/min on GPUMAX using a 3 hour time frame.

Latest CGMiner, Win7 x64, custom RPC Web Monitoring App, CAT 11.8, 2@(900Mhz GPU, 775Mhz Mem), 2@(910Mhz GPU, 785Mhz Mem), I9, 1GB 'shitty' 6950's (locked shaders).

Connecting it to BTCGuild yields a solid 22 Shares/minute once it settles down (and slows down/averages out) at approx the 30 min mark and forward, maintaining that output 24/7.

I had a feeling you were going to say that Smiley. IIS can be odd with stuff like this. Never used WAMPSERVER. is that what your're running?
I am running exactly that, after fighting with IIS/PHP on Server 2008.......
Same box now runs IIS on the usual ports and my WAMPSERVER simultaneously on port 8888, that I use for this purpose.
Everything gets along fine.
1828  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: CGminer - web monitor beta v0.4 [switch pools all rigs] on: February 09, 2012, 04:11:09 PM

keep in mine for pool switching, v3 is snafu.   use v4!
It's working flawlessly for me.....pool switching anyways.
What was the problem you saw with v3 ?

The only thing I have never got to work (regardless of app/front end...even local script/config file) was Voltage control (all Win64 Miners etc).
1829  Economy / Services / Re: GPUMAX | The Bitcoin Mining Marketplace on: February 09, 2012, 04:01:47 PM
If your miner is running at 50% speed then you have something else going on.

Let's take one of my miners, as an example. A quad 6950 rig that does a steady 22+ shares/minute and does so continuously.
It will stay connected to GPUMAX and struggle to maintain 16 shares/minute, so perhaps 50% was hyperbole.....regardless.

I can watch this happen in real time, using my monitoring app to switch pools manually.....
Connecting to BTCGuild, my shares/minute seem to skyrocket, switching back to GPUMAX has a near immediate 20+% negative effect at times on shares/minute.

Knowing this setup better than I know my wife these days, it's easy to see performance issues and know that nothing on my end is causing them, due to stellar performance elsewhere.
1830  Economy / Services / Re: GPUMAX | The Bitcoin Mining Marketplace on: February 09, 2012, 03:04:12 PM
Would it be possible to give us miners an option to have GPUMAX simply disable workers when no public work is avaliable at that worker's pricepoint?  Let us worry about our own fail-overs when no public work is avaliable.  This could be something as simple as changing the worker's password to "no_work" when it needs to be disabled, and change it back when life is good...

I like the above idea.
Adding an additional 'bridge' point of failure doesn't really make sense, passing through shares.

Right now, I am sending 4 workers @ 4.8GH/s to GPUMAX and I only connect to 2 places, regardless of the situation.
My GPUMAX 'Public Pool' and my locally set 'Backup Pool' are 1 in the same (BTCGuild) as it's stable as shit and I never have to worry about it (my backup pool) yet my STALES/INVALIDS are always greater when passing through work using my single GPUMAX managed 'Public' worker, compared to my directly connected 4 backup worker threads sent to BTCGuild.

I really like the service, but I can manage my workers well enough on my own and would rather just have the option to connect to GPUMAX when Contract work is available.

My 3 satoshi's take on things....lol
1831  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: CGminer - web monitor beta v0.4 [switch pools all rigs] on: February 09, 2012, 02:21:11 PM
I have been attempting to figure this out but am having a bit of trouble. here is the output. from what i can tell with little understanding of php is that its not getting a connection to the box. i checked the pc to be sure the when cgminer starts the its says api is listening. Before i dig deep into learning php i am hoping its something stupid that i did or missed.

Make it easy on yourself and install something line WAMPSERVER on your Win32/64 box on port 8888 or something like that, enable PHP Sockets in the PHP.ini file, throw your files in it's Apache Root, call it up and call it a day......IT WILL WORK Wink

IIS ? Just say NO....lol
1832  Economy / Services / Re: GPUMAX | The Bitcoin Mining Marketplace on: February 09, 2012, 02:09:52 PM
Update:

Our old DC is doing an upgrade to their routers to address the issues we've been having.  GPUMAX will be down from 9:30PM to 1AM CST while they upgrade and configure the hardware.  We can't tell you how sorry we are about having to take the system down for this long.  Hopefully it's faster but we'll expect it take that long or longer.

We wish we could migrate during this time to our new system but I don't think it's possible.  I recommend everyone to setup a fail-over to their offline pools so you don't have much downtime.

If you have a purchase in the system during this time it will be suspended until the system comes back up or if you wish you can contact me or support@gpumax.com to have a refund issued.

Thanks and we'll see you on the flip side.

You need to set speed thresh holds......to force miners to failover on their own and not simply to PUBLIC work if no CONTRACT work is available.
As it seems, my miners are more than happy to stay connected to GPUMAX even at 50% speeds and NOT failover to my backup pool.
Waking up to find that I wasted a bunch of electricity while I slept is rather discomforting......
My setup is rather small right now and I know what it produces every minute with tons of backup data to support it.

As of posting this, my backup pool had reported NO CONNECTION in the past 15+ hours to the worker set as my 'Public' worker in GPUMax, nor have my backup workers accumulated anything significant, so where do I point the finger ?
(CGminer - latest version, Win7 x64, multiple months of stability on same hardware with monitoring stats)....
1833  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] RealCoin [A new e-commerce business platform] on: February 08, 2012, 07:22:06 PM
The plan is to be fair to all miners. If you are a good helping miner then you dont have to worry about anything. This is just an extra layer of protection for the business nothing more than that and as said in the future it could be removed allowing for a completely decentralized service.

Please explain mining further. What incentive to miners have to give this 'coin' a second thought ?
COMPENSATION ......................HuhHuhHuhHuh?

What does it take to get CGminer voltage control working under Windows ?  (Windows 7 x64)
I have been able to use every other feature, including clock and memory speed adjustments, but never voltage control using CGMiner.
Anyone care to share ?

WTF ?
Miners get TX fees only as block reward ?

sure, I will comment...  we dont really need data faster then 10 seconds....do we?

On another note, I am about to upload beta 0.3.  it is still one big ugly script.  but you can switch all rigs pools with a click and update any rig to do anything Smiley

My apologies completely...LOL

I completely misunderstood you when you said you were going to implement Ajax for Stats/Controls etc.

I had assumed that you WANTED near-realtime stats. I am EXTREMELY happy with 10 secs (and the script). I just wanted to help, so I tried some stuff and reported back.

If 10 secs is the target, consider this script 'The Cadillac' of no-back-end Monitors Wink

thanks again for all your work.

1838  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: CGminer - web monitor beta v0.2 on: February 08, 2012, 02:29:55 AM
Well, I think I just stumbled on WHY a Database might be useful for maintaining near realtime (under 3 secs?) stats.....

I have been playing around with Javascript/Ajax updating of the stats, rather than my simple meta-refresh and my experience is, excessive RPC polling seems to have a negative effect on the Host Miner's overall performance....by as much as 5+% and creates a shit ton of undesirable network overhead in the process.

Now, keep in mind.... I'm a pretty shitty coder (a copy/paste guru at best) so unless you have stumbled onto something that is seemingly over my head, my current 10sec meta-refresh is going to be IT for my application, as it seems to play nice and have next to NO effect (negative) on anything else on the network.

jim, care to comment ? maybe a quick shove in the right direction if I am completely off the mark ?

Thanks,
bitlane.
1839  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Time for some new equipment on: February 02, 2012, 10:05:13 PM
It's about that time.... time to do a bit of shopping, but first, a little gut-check.
To begin with, I am considering 3-4 of whatever I choose, then more later on if I am satisfied (especially with the BitForce unit)

Is there any reason why (providing availability is certain) that anyone would NOT consider a Butterfly Labs BitForce Single ?

As far as my upgrade goes, I really only have 2 (well, 3) items in mind...but I will stick with 2 for now.

Item #1
Radeon 7970
$550-600 CAD local (CAD = Canadian Dollars, most times 1:1 with USD anyways)
650 MH/s
Peace of Mind Warranty (as always)
300+W ?

Item #2
Butterfly Labs BitForce Single
$630 CAD Shipped.
830 MH/s
Scarry Warranty (do I recall reading 90 days somewhere ?)
80W

NOW, taking Resale value COMPLETELY OUT OF THE EQUATION, let's imagine that we are comparing a 7970 with a 2 year warranty to a BitForce Single and assume that the 7970 will DIE a horrible death on day# 731......(2yrs + 1 day)

Let's also assume that as far as performance increases are concerned, via either Firmware updates or kernels/miners....that BOTH would be on par, percentage-wise.

Once again, RESALE VALUE IS OUT OF THE EQUATION.

At this point, my only concern would be that the BitForce Single would also last for 2yrs+1 day for this little experiment (or longer hopefully).

Item #3
Radeon 7990
Price TBA (I can only assume 1.5x $7970)
Performance (again, assuming 1.8-1.9x 7970 MH/s)

Is anyone else even considering going the Butterfly Labs BitForce route still ?

I honestly didn't expect the ATI 7xxx series cards to be such hash-mongers..lol. The performance seen on some of the 7970's aruond here was been quite impressive.

Thoughts ?

Just thought I should note that I am intentionally ignoring znort987, CoinHunter, and bitlane, who have demonstrated themselves to be scammers and trolls in the past. If anyone else thinks I need to respond to anything from them, please say so (do note that a good amount of it is outright lies/FUD).
Everything I have referred to has been proven BEYOND the shadow of a doubt, on multiple occasions, so do your best.

Also, had I actually been on your ignore list, how did you know that I was commenting about your actions in the first place ?
