The share/min counter is heavily influenced by current difficulty. It will fluctuate to some degree based on your recent luck. Don't give it more attention than it deserves.

100% untrue. Normally if you solo mine, your miner will try to find a hash that is lower than the current target (you commonly relate this to difficulty). When mining in a pool though, your "shares" are actually hashes that would solve a block as if the difficulty was 1. If you're mining on a pool, you will get the exact same amount of shares/minute if difficulty was 200,000 or 20,000,000. This is why the amount of shares required to find a block average out to the current network difficulty.
Exactly.
When Pool mining, I use shares/minute as a measure of my miner's performance.....to make sure everything is running as it should.

I usually don't bother paying close attention to the value till things settle down and average out...usually 10+ minutes or so.

Needs more juice.

The power requirements for 4 x 6770's is 1200W but its unlikely your PSU is capable of running that wattage, and especially not under full load 100% of the time.

edit: just reread your post and noticed you have 5 cards so yea no way enough power.

http://forum-en.msi.com/faq/article/power-requirements-for-graphics-cards

WTF ?

6770's are 120W MAX (on a very bad day) budget cards with 800 Stream Processors....lol  Most are simply re-branded/BIOS'd 5770's
(HD 5770 MAX power draw is approx 110W and I am being generous as 6000 series cards tend to draw more power)
The HD 6790 draws 137W MAX and does so because it's clocked high as shit.....not to mention, a piece of shit (I tried to mine with a couple...lol).

What model of card could you have possibly got that confused with ?

OP, you have more than enough power (and then some). It's gotta be a software issue, settings, device ID problem etc.
1883  Economy / Lending / Re: [Closed]Looking for 1 more loan 8.5 bitcoin on: January 26, 2012, 01:49:56 PM
He owes me 17.5+x BTC, he replied twice to my PMs, claiming he's trying to gain funds...
Another thing that bothered me (that went virtually unquestioned) was the fact that he posted on more than 1 occasion, that FUND WERE SENT yet no one received anything and when he was questioned about it once, he simply said he 'messed up'......WTF

Where did those 'messed up' funds go ? who were they sent to ?

This guy seems like nothing more than a lying piece of shit, simply looking to buy time, so the fact that he responded to a couple PM's hopefully doesn't get your hopes up.

I think this guy is gone.....as he's way too deep into it to begin selling everything he has listed for sale, in order to pay people back.

Alternatively, if he does end up selling some items, I can perhaps see some of the loans being repaid, but potential buyers run the risk of never receiving anything for their BTC sent for his goods currently for sale.

This looks like it's going to be a partial win/lose situation no matter what.
1884  Economy / Lending / Re: [Closed]Looking for 1 more loan 8.5 bitcoin on: January 26, 2012, 01:11:59 PM
So, after 104 BTC in defaulted loans, has this guy pretty much disappeared ? (well, 104 as the borrowed amount, perhaps closer to 125 as the repayment amount ?)

From what I had read, he essentially started out with a couple small loans, then shopped around, using those successful loans (not even repaid) to use as part of his 'credentials' in order to seek larger loans ?

He still seems to be actively browsing the forum, although silent....

So, basically, his signature is bullshit then ? as his references are received loans...not necessarily REPAID loans ?

If you are a coder, why not work for your BTC ?

I am currently looking for a Dev for a project:

....just a thought.
1886  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [ACCEPTING BIDS] Hosting App/Checkout/Cart/WHM/Enom API/Bitcoin/Namecoin on: January 26, 2012, 06:23:02 AM
I looked at existing shopping carts in more detail.
there is one in the list that is really simple, because it requires no PHP/SQL coding at all: http://bitcoinevolution.com

It's really worth having a look.
it does have limitations, but I think that these limitations could be fixed easily with a better API.
I tried to reach the developer.

I am looking at longevity....so a 'middle-man' is completely out of the question.

I don't want to put the fate of my business in the hands of a 3rd party payment processor.
When (IF) I fail, I want it to be due to my own stupidity and not that of a payment processor suddenly dissapearing on me.....
Know what I mean ?

I want to be 100% self sufficient.

1889  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Sapphire 5830 Extreme - Stock Voltage Overclock on: January 26, 2012, 04:12:03 AM
I set one of my cards to 995Mhz to try and it's running at about 318.2 MH/s but it's share/min count is low.... just over 3 shares/min, where it should be 4.

1891  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Sapphire 5830 Extreme - Stock Voltage Overclock on: January 26, 2012, 03:08:19 AM
I was wondering, for those of you running Sapphire 5830 Extreme, how high are you able to get the GPU overclocked using STOCK Voltage ?

I have 6 of these cards and am up to running 965Mhz on the GPU (using 300Mhz Mem) and am wondering if there is anymore to be had from these cards ?

I am running Win7 x64, using CGMiner.

Thanks in advance,
bitlane.
1892  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [ACCEPTING BIDS] Hosting App/Checkout/Cart/WHM/Enom API/Bitcoin/Namecoin on: January 26, 2012, 01:37:59 AM
Well, I've been contacted by a few people, but mainly to point me in the direction of existing apps/projects that might be tailored to fit my request.

What I am really hoping for, regardless of existing projects being combined or not, is someone who is willing to put everything together and provide me with more of an 'End User' type of package that simply works.....with MINIMAL coding etc on my part.

I'm still looking for that person(s) so please feel free to get in touch with me.

My goal more or less, is to have a fully functional hosting/domain registry that does not depend on USD for anything other than price conversions and uses 100% Cryptocurrency as payment options.

Another option is to at least get the Enom API/Domain registration/management functionality up, as THAT is what seems to be lacking in the marketplace currently.
I have an Enon Root-reseller account that I purchased nearly 10 years ago and use it as part of my current business with many accounts under me and no one above (as it's a purchased account directly from Enom, hence 'root-reseller'.....).

The WHM/Cpanel integration could come later on if that's still an interest of mine....which it is, but more so the Enom stuff to begin with

Thanks again.
bitlane.

Blah blah blah...spewing cowardly crap because mom never held me much and dad touched me places he shouldn't have...

Start here:
http://dot-bit.org/Main_Page

Pay CLOSE attention to the part at the very top, titled What is Namecoin

A quick QUOTE perhaps, to save you the trouble ?

Quote
What is Namecoin
Namecoin is a peer-to-peer generic name/value datastore system based on Bitcoin technology (a decentralized cryptocurrency).
It allows you to :
Securely register names (domains for example), no possible censorship!
Trade and transact namecoins, the digital currency NMC.

....and thanks for coming out.
1897  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Namecoin - what is going on ? on: January 25, 2012, 11:48:09 PM
NMC was never meant to be a currency in the first place.
Of course not...and definitely not for registering dot-bit domains.

Rather than waste your time looking at my post history, looking for something to comment on, you had better go back to the NMC Wiki and have another read.

I'm willing to bet that you don't even have a single Dot Bit registered name or for that matter don't even know what it is LOL  Grin Grin Grin
...and I'm willing to bet that you would shit your pants if the opportunity to speak to someone like this ever came up, face to face, far from the safety that hiding behind your keyboard and monitor provide you.

17 days since the last post in this thread and here you go all NECRO-like, just trolling, looking to cause a problem.

BitcoinEXpress, you truly are a half-wit coward.....
1898  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ixcoin.org should be back up soon on: January 24, 2012, 04:31:31 AM
Apologies for any inconvenience. Should be back up soon. Will keep you posted.

I was wondering what happened. I want to make sure this currency survives so that my 134,000 IXC won't go to waste.
Alternatively, I guess I can always trade them for 1.34 BTC since the current IXC Marketplace seems to be lacking items for sale.

If you use btc-e, hurry and trade them.  They are discontinuing ixcoin trading on January 31, 2012.
I was actually kidding....hehe
I don't have 134,000 of anything....although that amount in BTC would be pretty nice...lol

That must be a Windows-based machine, right?
Correct. Win7 x64

[EDIT]
After some trial and error (mostly ERROR...read: LOCKUPS...lol)... I was able to get my 6950's running at 900 Mhz GPU & 900Mhz Mem (stock speed being 1250Mhz Mem).
Anything lower than that seemed to lockup the machine while starting CGMiner. My 4 6950's are non reference (2x Asus DCUII 1GB @ 810/1250 stock...& 2x XfX 1GB 6950's @ 800/1250Mhz stock). The immediate drop in temps is a welcomed change.
If your engine is stable at 900, I recommend setting the memory 125 below that as well for even cooler performance, so 775. It should still be stable. Even further, try the auto-gpu option with gpu-memdiff set to -125 so that if the engine clock speed is ever lowered, the memory clock speed is lowered with it.
Unfortunately I tried 850Mhz on the memory and the machine crashed when starting CGMiner, so I figured I would just stick with 900/900 and call it a day.

I can now see, with the drop in Memory Frequency from 1250Mhz down to 900Mhz, I am seeing a SOLID 8-10c drop in temps on the hottest running cards (the XfX 1GB 6950's).
Where normally both cards would run in the high 70's peak, they are now hashing away under 70c (closer to 67-68) and the fans are finally slowed down below 70% for the first time since I purchased these cards....usually holding at 85% at times.

Thanks again for all the tips and advice.
