Feel free to play the "lost in translation" card if you like
Nah. No play of translation card here. I am not born and living in a nation that has native English so probably I am not perfect in English. But honestly so far I don't believe I misunderstand your question with the proposition 'of' and I believe my answer is very clear with the preposition 'from'. If I denied that I did not send any DM to other posters in that topic, I would write "No DM to anyone else" or "No request to anyone else". Make sense?

Still not sure why you used 'of' in your DM to me in that question
Quote
Have you made this request of others?
My misunderstanding possibly come from 'of' that you used. I thought it is on behalf of. Sorry if I extrapolate it inaccurately. In my second DM to you, I wrote nothing to be serious and explained it clearly.

Quote
I see via BPIP that you have removed those users mentioned earlier and I for one thank you for doing so.
Sorry, removed who?

Quote
That's just a deflection from the topic at hand being "self scratching".
I agree (as wrote above) but I think yahoo has a valid point. This drama is because I am in DT1 and when I add one member in my trust list, it means I promote them to DT2. Now, it's gone. I am in blacklist of theymos, forever.

Back to your story, do you think that if someday you is in DT1 and your alt will automatically become DT2, will it trigger another drama? Now, you are not DT1, no drama. So how about future?

I see LoyceV did not add his alt, LoyceMobile in LoyceV's trust list but DarkStar_ add his alt in his trust list as same as you did. Right or wrong, it depends on how you look at it. Personally, I see it is not serious but not adding your alt to your trust list would be a better option. I don't use to trigger a drama card if your alt won't be used to scam anyone. However, if someone want to trigger drama, they will have reason to do that especially if someday you are DT1.

Regarding the various questions around points accumulated via positive or negative trust feedback (and even if you don't use BPIP, the point of this thread is that you are infact using the Trust Feedback system).
It seems you love the past trust system and try to stick with BPIP and old algorithm that I never spent my time to read it thoroughly. If you love it, just stick with it but you should not ask other members to use BPIP and consider the trust algorithm on that site as official one of the forum. What I am using is the current version of Trust feedback system, not an old version years ago.

Reasons why we have a new trust feedback system. Because past algorithms cause drama when people can paint other walls in dark red. How it becomes darker with time, as said, I don't spend my time to learn its algorithm. But now, it is gone from this forum, isn't it?
1982  Economy / Reputation / Re: [INVESTIGATION] tranthidung seems to be doing the same thing Dabs does. on: July 29, 2022, 03:19:36 AM
Self scratching makes the trust inclusion look funny, but it's not illegal. I don't agree with it. If I have worked with or been a part of a project with someone for awhile, I normally give em a positive trust rating at some point. I barely add users to my trust list though, very hard to get there.
Agree with you here.

Quote
Just scrap DT and move to a reputation based system where everyones feedback counts the same.
It is better than the past with old trust system. I recalled that when a DT1 member (or even DT2 member) with high power weight (not sure how it was counted with past trust system), a negative trust feedback will be shown with very big multiplier like -100, -200 in dark red. That causes a lot of panic and drama.

Fortunately, with current trust / feedback system, all is the same (at least in visual display in orange). But again, a drama is moving to a third party site (BPIP - early after the launch of new trust/ feedback system, they used the old trust algorithm for people who missed it. Maybe months later, they changed and applied a new algorithm (or their own) for Recognized page. I don't follow it so I am not sure)

I am not here to be recognized on BPIP

1983  Economy / Reputation / Re: [INVESTIGATION] tranthidung seems to be doing the same thing Dabs does. on: July 29, 2022, 02:47:17 AM
If you see a guy left accurate feedback on others, Include them on your trust list. That's how it should work.
Really?

Is it a mandatory condition that I have to look at their trust feedback on others, before including them into my trust list?
How a member use their trust list, trust feedback are only one of things you should trust or distrust that one. They are not only or main decisive factors.

People above have their points that I agree to but your point is wrong in my opinion. Including someone into your trust list means you trust that one. Excluding means you don't trust that one.

Trust feedback is for specific works, trades, deals etc. Trust list inclusion means you trust that one in general but you can always change it if things change. Hope that I don't misunderstand.

Lastly, a member is not in your trust list does not mean you don't trust that one. A member is not in your exclusive trust list does not mean you trust that one. I think it is serious to put one member into exclusive (distrust) list so I barely do it.
1984  Other / Meta / Re: Spam reserved post, edit later to hit post quota is back on: July 29, 2022, 02:41:01 AM
I know from personal experience that in the case of a large number of deleted posts of an individual user, a temporary ban is issued - especially if the user, regardless of the deleted posts, continues to violate the rules of the forum. Just recently, I had one such case where I reported more than 50 posts of one user, after which he became inactive - I assume he got a temporary ban.
Two main factors:
  • Total posts made or total messages sent
  • Intensity of that activity
If there is same total posts/ messages, the more intensively you do it, you will likely get a more serious ban. I knew it from the case of BitcoinFX.
You sent over 100 PMs with the same format: clear unsolicited bulk PMs. 4 people reported it, making it unwanted & unsolicited bulk PMs = spam. Most others would've been banned much longer.

Quote
This is the only way to send a clear message to the user, and it is up to the user to decide whether he wants to change his behavior or go for a permanent ban.
Here but as I know, it is flexible and moderator can ban you after your second time if they consider your case is serious and period of a temporary ban is flexible too. It does not have to be 7, 14 or 30 days.
Staff do not want to hand out bans for unconstructive posts but if we feel that you as a user are continually making very poor or unsubstantial posts due to your paid signature the following bans will be issued:

First offence: 7 days
Second offence: 14 days
Third offence: 30 days
Fourth: Permanent ban
1985  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Data Entry Problem on: July 29, 2022, 02:16:32 AM
I am having trouble using an Android to send the proper data to begin buying/selling Bitcoin.
When you are making a trade, it should be done on desktop computer or laptop, not on mobile if that trade is big enough for you. Basically, we can more easily make mistake on mobile rather than on desktop computer or laptop that has better keyboard and bigger screen. In addition, less protection (software) is used to protect mobile.

Quote
Is there a way to get them my personal info by email directly from my pc?
I don't understand your question and your need.

Just don't store your sensitive information in email or anything on third-party service. You don't control those data when they put it in.

Another note when making a transaction.

lol, no request from anyone else. Please don't connect anything to DT role.

It is my topic, and I just realized that there are some sensitive information for others. It does not mean others can do the same like what I did but it will take time for them to do it if they want.

I know about archives on other sites as well. Anyway, nothing to be serious about it. I just don't want anyone can get any trouble because of my topic that was created for no bad intention behind. I think you understand what I meant

I am not good at English but it seems I understood my DM like "Have you made this request on behalf of others?" as I wrote in previous post above, rather than "Have you made this request to others ?"

It seems your question would be the second one? to, not of. I did not reply you like "I did not / have not made the same request to others". If I replied like that, you can judge that I changed my words but it is not in this case. Just a bit of miscommunication with prepositions if there is

Anyway, as I explained in my DM to you and in my post, the reason is the same.

Not sure why you wrote like I changed my words in two DMs to you.

Some months your trust feedback score is lower e.g. +3 while other months when you are DT1 that number jumps to +9 which makes your BPIP score "most trusted" jump higher and in turn your overall "most recognised" score then becomes higher.  The perception when you are DT1 is that your are more trust worthy due to the higher score.
I am not in Bitcointalk with a reason to be recognized by BPIP. Any logic here. Maybe you mind about ranking on BPIP but I don't mind. Sometimes I look at it but most of time I don't. If I (barely) look at BPIP, I mostly look at the merit ranking page with my curiosity that what is my rank compares to grandfather members with airdropped merit. Not care about trust page, recognized page.  Smiley
1987  Economy / Reputation / Re: [INVESTIGATION] tranthidung seems to be doing the same thing Dabs does. on: July 28, 2022, 05:02:17 PM
It's much more useful for the DT-system if you don't get excluded, but also don't include users just because they've left you positive feedback. I can only speculate why you included some of them, but this is what it looks like.
Thank you Loyce but it's done, now I am free to use my trust list when I am not DT1. I remembered after another drama, Hhampuz left DT1 too Smiley

About the discussion in another topic on how many inclusion from DT1 will promote a member to DT2, I think it makes sense. If the threshold for DT2 promotion is 10 ie., no drama with DT1 members and their trust list.  Grin
1988  Economy / Reputation / Re: [INVESTIGATION] tranthidung seems to be doing the same thing Dabs does. on: July 28, 2022, 11:07:01 AM
My trust list
Is anything wrong when I trust people I worked with and all goes smooth ?

Tell me, if excluding me out of DT1 gang, resolve the drama. I don't wait for your opinion to send my DM to theymos. I don't beg theymos to be in DT1 and it is not my dream. Things I have done are what I have done. The community recognize it or not, it is not a matter with me.  Cool

Many drama like this in the past right? Nothing is wrong if a member is not in DT1, and when they are in DT1, you guys look at their trust list, and start drama. You guys make the forum like a circus.  Cheesy

My DMs

In my DM to you and LoyceV and others in that thread, I think I wrote my reasons clearly. In fact, that is my topic and when I created that, I did it without any bad intention to bring troubles to anyone. Then, just recently I thought that something can happen so I deleted all my posts in that topic.

I know things can not be erased entirely on the Internet after it was published. But back in days ago, I did not know how to change title of all posts in my topic and because I thought post titles can be keywords for search engines. That is why I sent DM to some posters in that topic.

Later, Loyce taught me how to do this, so I changed all post titles by myself. So is it fine?

When I received your DM, you instantly asked why I sent that DM. Is it on behalf of other forum members? Can't understand why you thought like this.

Welcome to Bitcointalk forum.

Any earning source for beginners? And what skills should I need to work on this site?
I think you can get some clarifications from the welcome message. Briefly, forum is not an ATM so you can not earn and withdraw money from the forum if you don't contribute anything. Contribution means help other members, provide a service and so on.

1990  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Insert Quote vs Source links on: July 28, 2022, 03:32:03 AM
I am just wondering if by referencing and supporting my post, maybe I can use "insert quote" rather posting "source link" like this :
Both are fine.

Quote
By using insert quote, i think you can highlight the text to everyone rather than posting a source link which can be a time consuming to find the quoted text. By the way maybe i am wrong, but is there any difference?
This is the point.
It is not only time saving for readers because readers don't want to spend their time to find and differentiate what is your opinion and what you got from other sources. If you don't clearly use 'Insert quote', you try to trap readers and somewhat unofficially try to make your post like original one with most of content is from yourself. By doing this, it looks like you are trying to hide original authors and what they wrote.
1991  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [Discussion topic] Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns on: July 28, 2022, 03:25:16 AM
Looks like the bear market has reached the signature campaigns as well.  Embarrassed
Snowball effect is coming but if you look at signature campaigns on the forum in the last bear market, worst has yet come (possibly)
  • Worst might be around if we assume the crypto industry including signature campaign industry has grown after the last bull run.
  • Worst has yet come if we assume the worst should be something like in past bear market

Guys I have a question... is 1 mBTC a normal offer for renting an avatar?

Let's say it's a long-term partnership.
Good enough I think but very few members are available for it. You can also check the rate from Crypto.Games that offer $40 per 4 weeks for both avatar + personal text.

I am also renting my signature/avatar/personal text and I have my own dedicated forum page for that, so you can add me if you want, but I am currently hired for everything except for personal text.

I do like animated avatars and I think some members would pay or donate just to get animated avatars back in profiles
It was free but due to over use of animated avatars from members and some campaigns within a few months (2 - 3 months) and community complaints, theymos restricted it. Then only grandfathers can have animated avatars like yahoo62778, and similar to grandfather newbies can wear avatars.
OK, APNGs are now detected. Old ones are grandfathered for now, in part because people have ongoing campaigns, but in the future I might (or might not) go through and remove them.

Some points
  • I am not sure why they received such airdrop messages together with strange links
  • Assume airdrop is really happening, let's consider the given link. It should be not from any official project with a domain link .xyz.
  • Assume people carelessly skip the first preventive step, they should not skip the second preventive step with domain link
  • They can easily to double check by typing the project name (Osmosis in this case) on either Coinmarketcap.com or Coingecko.com and get official website link then compare it with the given link in received messages
1994  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Steps to owning sats on: July 27, 2022, 03:08:53 AM
you just discovered DCA - Dollar Cost Averaging.
That's one of the most ideal ways to stack up bitcoins without pressure of checking the price to determine the best buy in time.
Websites for Dollar Cost Averaging DCA
Amongst them, that one is the best in my opinion: https://dcabtc.com/ because OP wants to DCA with Bitcoin.

Dollar Cost Averaging can be used in both bull and bear market but I think in bear market, it shows biggest effect in long run. It helps to get rid of fear and hesitate to get in. Then when a new bull market comes, you will harvest good profit from your DCA-seed during many months of bear market.
1995  Other / Meta / Re: Spam reserved post, edit later to hit post quota is back on: July 27, 2022, 02:54:02 AM
Misclick, that's definitely rare but possible if the finger quickly pressed ALT+S instead of ALT+P.
I think I've also misclicked in the past but I immediately edited the post before it even reached 1-2 minutes. But if the date has changed, then I believe it is a reserve weekly posts.
If they reserved posts to get post quota that means post counting time is mostly ending. I am sure they will return a few minutes or hours later to edit their posts. Very likely that they make reserved posts for their farm and after they done with reserved posts, they will return to each account for editing.

I don't think they will spend days to come back and edit.
1996  Other / Meta / Re: Spam reserved post, edit later to hit post quota is back on: July 26, 2022, 04:38:53 PM
Definitely; I would encourage everyone to report "reserved" posts or ones with ellipses (og kush420 didn't even write a full ellipsis, just two periods, lol) to the mods.
Certainly we can report such reserved posts, even if they were edited mins or hours later.

Assume they return and edit such posts a few hours later, it is off-context. Because that discussion should go beyond the one happened around that reserved post. I don't say it is off-topic but off-context. Another minus point is edited content is always low or zero value, shit-post actually.

I realize this is probably just one campaign we're talking about here (1xbit)

Not actually. yahoo62278 will rent his avatar if it is a very long term deal. I checked and you are right. He changed his mind 3 years ago, with that post. Anyway, that category is for avatar, personal text, website, etc. so I think it is good to put yahoo62278 in. Who are interested in should visit his service thread and get more details.
Sig space and PM space available again starting 11/8/2019 Post here or pm me with offers. Looking for 2 weeks+ offers only. Normally 20+ posts per week

Avatar space is not negotiable as I lose my animated avatar if I remove it.

Does Carollzinha provide campaign management service for other project as well? I don't think so. She is only handling the stake signature campaign and she is one of their internal employee as far as I know. You can PM her to know.
No need for DM but I think you make a point here. I write my criteria in OP too so let's observe it for a while.

Mostly but not actually "All-in-one". There are something is missing such as Escrow, Collectibles etc. I don't think I will put everything in this topic.  Smiley

Additionally, I much appreciate community help to keep this topic updated (clearly presented in OP too). Community can do it, just like how they do it in

Maybe we should have a rule that only the OP can add "reserved" posts into his topic and a bot should have a list of keywords and report the rest of "reserved" posts at sight?
LoyceV has a scraper for unedited post (free) and a paid service for signature campaign managers.

I believe he can do it easily and it will help managers to have a list of suspicious reserved posts. Then they can compare it to editing time, check content more carefully for post count, etc.

It is normal if a user reserves posts in a single topic (for updates, etc.) but it is abnormal if a user reserve many posts in many topics in short period of time.

However, it should be a paid service, not free one. So I think managers will less likely to use it.
2000  Other / Meta / Re: Spam reserved post, edit later to hit post quota is back on: July 26, 2022, 01:17:49 PM
Solosanz caught a user behaving like this a while back: (AndySt) The next abuser of stake campaign?
Another example. I think they come from a same farm so they have same posting behavior. When weekly time is ending, they make such reserved posts to avoid missing weekly payment. Then, they will return to edit it with zero value content.

Quote
I think it's a bad habit for signature campaign participant. This campaign pays participants to spread awareness on their site which should be done evenly over 7 days
With this style, they can do it 7 days a week. If a manager requires to spread posts in 5 or 7 days a week, they still can do it. No issue from lazy participants like this.

Quote
but this way I believe they have hired the wrong people.
They even don't know about that. Very few members in forum know about that approach from shit posters, not only campaign managers.

When you see such posts, there are two possibilities:
  • Misclick
  • To reserve weekly posts
