2021  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Multiple Tradingview Webhooks in a Single Trade on: August 16, 2022, 11:53:27 PM
Actually i thought it was a beginner question and i basically post it here as to avoid any backlash like "put this stupid question in beginner how dare you ask us veterans this stupid question"
Why would it be a stupid question?  Wink

IMO, most members are very helpful here if they understand what you are asking. It's the main point of this forum (to discuss and help each other) so don't be afraid to ask anything in the appropriate boards. Anybody who would try to ridicule you would be the stupid one.
2022  Economy / Lending / Re: Need a loan, NFTs as collateral on: August 16, 2022, 11:08:26 PM
Hello,

I need a loan of 0.01 btc please, I can put my NFTs as collateral : https://opensea.io/collection/the-last-bastion
I don't think an NFT can be considered collateral. You and I both know how hard it is to get someone to buy it. Imagine if you defaulted the loan. How is the lender going to liquidate the NFT quickly in order to recover the money.

Here are the collateral guidelines;

What is considered collateral?

Collateral is something that can easily be resold to cover the loan value plus interest should the loaner default on the loan.

- The best collateral is another crypto-currency, such as Ethereum (also written as ETH).  Coins must be moderately traded on multiple exchanges.
- Some digital wares such as domain names can be considered as long as the user cannot recover it.
- Small valuable items that can be shipped though the mail - i.e. gold, silver, iphones, etc.
- Large items, such as a motorcycle or guitar can be used if you live close to the person giving you the loan.  Try localbitcoins.com

What is not considered collateral?

- Merit.  Bitcointalk Merit is not a commodity and is not meant to be traded.  Asking or doing so may get you negative trust (Trade with Extreme Caution!)
- Items they want to sell.  They don't want it back, so they will default.  It's scammy unethical behavior and will lead to negative trust.  Check their recent posts!
- Items not in hand.  Don't trust a user that promises to give you something *when* they default!  Tracking numbers only show something has been mailed - it could be an empty box.
- Future income.  You can prove you'll make xx coins in the next few days, but nothing forces you to send those coins to pay your debt.
- Identification.  So what if they can prove who they are.  Are you going to spend more money and time taking them to court on untested legal grounds?  You'll probably just walk away, like everyone does.  ID is useless.
- Games codes or similar.  To verify the collateral you need to use the code, which destroys the collateral.  Consider this a purchase, not a loan.  (Post in Digital Goods instead)
- Most new alt-coins or alt-coins that trade for satoshis are not good collateral as they can become worthless overnight.
- Most pre-coins/tokens are worthless, or may take significant time to be worth anything.
- Paypal should never be used - they are anti-bitcoin and will rule against you 100% of the time.  Escrow can't even help, as paypal charge backs can come over six months later!
- Most valuable online accounts can easily be recovered by social engineering (the user contacting support to say they were hacked, and regain control of the account)  Examples:  Steam

When should you use Escrow?

 - Never send collateral directly to a low activity/post account offering you a loan, as they are likely to take your coins and disappear. (Collateral Scam)
 - Use only "Legendary Members" for escrow - they have a vested interest in the community with the time they have spent here.
 - Do not use a third party escrow service unless hero members can vouch for it - it's too easy to create a website, do a few escrows then disappear with a big balance.  Rinse and repeat.
- A list of trusted escrows can be found here:  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=855778.0

When considering the trustworthiness of a user, ignore "Posts" as there are schemes that pay a user per post.  A person can make 1,000 useless posts in one day and contribute nothing to the community.  Instead look at the "Activity" number - that gives you a more accurate tally of how involved the user is in the community.  The new "Merit" system highlights thoughtful or useful posts, but gives no indication of trustworthiness.

Ignore the sob stories that users post - it's just a scam to get your coins.  If a person really is in such a situation, they can turn to family, friends or other social circles they frequent.  They are just posting in our community because the payment is anonymous and irreversible.

We are available on Telegram to explain our requirements in detail ( contact me for Telegram username )
What are those requirements that are so hard to explain here?  Roll Eyes
Trying to look for a victim, you can easily trick and scam via telegram?
In this forum, transparency is a norm, especially when one is trying to list a currency exchange deal. It's why this board is there in the first place
2024  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: {discussion} Ethereum PoW Fork price dunks 50% not too long after launch on: August 16, 2022, 10:19:13 PM
Just another one of those pump and dump fork coins except that this time round, its on an altcoin. I used to see so many of them fork from Bitcoin but where are they today?

I think Ethereum classic will do better than this new fork in the long run. In fact, I would rather mine and buy ETC than ETHW
2025  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] Bisq - Exchange, Decentralized. on: August 16, 2022, 09:47:48 PM
The recent tornado cash issue triggered me to think about the worst. Things like the US government sanctioning Bisq.network, having profiles of developers in GitHub deleted and probably arresting some of the developers who may not be anonymous (we all know how crazy those Government Motherf*ckers can be)

Does Bisq have a plan to make sure that their operation remains smooth even after being sanctioned (In case it happens)?
Perhaps opting for decentralized alternatives to github?
2026  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NFT and what to buy now? on: August 16, 2022, 09:03:45 PM
hello everyone, I'm new to this site, but I have a strange feeling that bitcoin will not grow more than $ 26,000 anymore, I want to know your opinion
$26,000 is an easy piece of cake for Bitcoin, Try maybe $500,000
The other day it traded at around $25,000... you think $1K would be a problem in the next few days or weeks?

Quote
and where is it better to invest your bitcoins now?
In Bitcoin or some established old altcoins

Quote
I heard that the NFT market is going up very well now, which NFT is better to invest in? or is it better to leave bitcoin, everyone who will help, and I will earn on this, I will throw in $ 10
Avoid cluelessly following hype or FOMO or else you may end up losing all your hard-earned money. The Bitter truth, NFTs have no future and the easiest way to lose money is trying to invest it in NFTs. One day, you will remember these words.
2027  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New whale bought $3 billion dollars worth of Bitcoins.. on: August 16, 2022, 08:43:03 PM
After seeing the transection, the journalist published the news without any verification. And since I saw the news on a popular news portal, I also thought that the owner of this address is really someone. For what purpose the journalist has published this news, he probably knows well, otherwise how could they not identify the coinbase address. And I also thought that any company owns this address, finally it turns out that coinbase owns this address.
The title alone is more of a clickbait by the author in order to get masses clicking on the article to read further about the "new whale"  Grin

IMO, I don't even care if a whale buy lots of Bitcoins and sends them to a certain address. They can offload the Bitcoins any second, so It does not matter that much.
2028  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Question on leverage on: August 16, 2022, 08:34:54 PM
So i am dabbling into trading again and i have a question about leverage. i was wondering if you start out with 100 dollars starting balance and you use 10 leverage and you manage to blow your account, are you liable to pay the full 1000 dollars that leverage gave you? Or you do just lose your initial starting balance?. I am not sure how this works please clear this up for me thanks.
Depending on the type of margin you have used.

If you used cross margin and opened a 10x leverage position using the $100 and there was some more money in your futures account. once the liquidation price is hit, you will lose all the money in your futures account as it would act as collateral

If you used isolated margin and opened a 10x leverage position using the $100 and there was some more money in your futures account. Once the liquidation price is hit, you will lose one the money you used to open the position ($100) as it would act as collateral
2029  Economy / Service Discussion / Street Selfie? Why all these crazy requirements in the name of KYC verification? on: August 15, 2022, 11:58:37 PM
I was browsing through the gambling board, and then I came across some member complaining about some casino that had requested for KYC verification which is OK but what was weird was the way they wanted the user to verify the account  Grin

Dear User,
We hope this email finds you well.
As part of our ongoing verification review of your account, you are kindly requested to submit further documentation to verify your identity.
1. A street selfie: A photo of your face with your government-issued ID (Passport or Driving Licence) and a newspaper in one hand, taken outside your building or street sign. Take a pen/marker and write Cloudbet and today's date on the newspaper and sign the newspaper below the word Cloudbet.
Please note all details. should be legible, including the building name or street sign.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Seriously, is this going to be the new trend in KYC verification?
Remember, back then, all that most services required were the front and back part of your ID or passport before they started asking for simple selfies.

Why would they need a street sign or building name?
2030  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Upcoming ethereum forks real or fake on: August 15, 2022, 11:36:57 PM
I don't even know why people still believe in fraudsters like Justin Sun.

His high centralized shit blockchain dubbed as the Ethereum killer was a huge fail despite holding a very massive and successful ICO back then and now here he is confusing people and not minding his business of trying to revive dying TRON.
2031  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: The journey so far on: August 15, 2022, 11:31:08 PM
Why not go for the OG's like Doge? I meant they have been around for long, unlike the likes of SHIB. Of course you can keep tabs on SHIB too.

I know Elon Musk hyped Doge in the recent bull ran, but I think it can get one a good return of investment if they bought it right now. I regret not buying it at $0.05, but even $0.07 was ok for me.

The all-time high was $0.7, and I can assure you, If Bitcoin blows past $70K in a new bull run, there is some kind of guarantee that Doge will go closer to $1
2032  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Buy AssetMantle coin (MNTL) on: August 15, 2022, 10:59:10 PM
As of now I don't know any direct way you can buy the coin using Bitcoin, but you can buy it from osmosis (https://app.osmosis.zone) using USDC.

You could just swap the BTC to USDC using one of the trusted instant exchanges like fixedfloat... More can be got here (https://kycnot.me) and then you use the USDC to buy MNTL.
2033  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: WTS 3 BUSD for 60 Tron on: August 15, 2022, 10:49:04 PM
Your offer is not that good. Perhaps that why people ignored your advert.

Right now, 3 BUSD can get you roughly 43 TRX. Not sure if you will get a trading partner who will want to sell you TRX at a loss. Incentivize the trade please, if you want some offers or at least make it fair at the current rate.
2034  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Anyone have experience with the Non Centralized Exchange Bisq? on: August 15, 2022, 10:39:01 PM
along with hodlhodl and is a great option for any bitcoiner who is interested in using Bitcoin the correct way.
I don't think HodlHodl is decentralized. Yes, it's a p2p exchange that doesn't require KYC right now, but they may change their TOS any time just like local bitcoins did back then if you look at their term.

No tor service available which means the exchange depends on centralized servers and is not censorship resistant, just bisq.

Some people have really no shame, after blocking accounts how they are proclaiming they will fight against this till the last satoshi....
I have been following his Timeline and I don't know why that shameless guy is still spewing a shitload of nonsense. What a hypocrite.

I discovered that some of Tornado's mirror links are still online, but one may need to set up a custom RPC to be able to use the service as the predefined ones are now down

1. https://cloudflare-ipfs.com/ipns/tornadocash.eth - this one has a warning (You are using a public IPFS gateway. Tornado Cash dApp can not use all security features of your browser. Check out landing page for alternatives)
2. https://tornadocash.eth.link/
3. https://nova.tornadocash.eth.link (I think this was the new version of tornado before the drama)
2036  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance announced investing on DID, is it safe? on: August 15, 2022, 04:43:45 PM
The company in charge of the data is still considered a central authority, so I don't see why the platforms should even be termed as "Decentralized" visual digital Identity. I think it's one of the so many useless projects that Binance has tried to invest in and take over, and they usually even become worse with time.
2037  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: owl.games scam on: August 15, 2022, 03:57:36 PM
1. The sportsbet game is a 3rd party game from a standalone game provider, which we have no rights to cancel any bet for you, the game provider cancelled the bets.
2. The game provider informed us regarding they found your betting suspicious along with other new accounts.
Since you are partners with them then you should be able to liaise with them and at least provide information on why they think OP's account was suspicious rather than keep someone in the dark with a ban.

5. If you truly think you should not be banned, please contact us via our 24x7 chat on website.
He says he did contact you, and you ignored his messages. That's not how a service is supposed to treat customers.
2038  Economy / Exchanges / Re: "Decentralized" exchange dYdX confirms blocking accounts linked to tonado cash on: August 13, 2022, 11:58:58 PM
What can I say is the only true decentralized exchanges exist until now is just Bisq, the rest are just centralized since the users which have a control about the pools can change their decision anytime when the government force them to ban the specific address.

Those so called DEXES e.g. Uniswap, Pancakeswap, and any other swap are just offering a fake decentralized swap. They're think "decentralized" are only need to connect using the customers wallet without create an account, but the true decentralized are more than that.
Spot on mate. I am glad, so many members here already know that the likes of uniswap are just fake decentralized exchanges. Decentralization is more than shit smart contracts

Finally seems like there is no longer just a single case when "something" has gone wrong, the usual but it's not like that for all of them, the whole charade is coming down in flames. The whole myth of the new Defi solutions that will revolutionize banking and give your freedom back was simply a lie, a hyped word that in reality had no meaning whatsoever, everyone should have understood that from the moment the first coins were frozen or blacklisted that this was just a way to cash on the hype and to trick gullible users that they've bought something special and it's actually theirs.

But something that needs to be mentioned is that of course they are not doing this on purpose, but they are doing the same things banks do with just one thing in perspective, staying afloat and making money. They will change Defi into Cefi immediately just like a lot of them have abandoned Defi for NFT for web3.0 for everything that was bringing more money.
True, every hype cycle is filled with the buzzy and trendy new names to the same old shady schemes. Only the intelligent few are always able to figure it out

I said before but I will repeat again, all this ''dex'' exchanges are not really decentralized in any way, including uniswap, dydx and all other junk built on ethereum and eth second layers.
indeed. Last year, my post about pseudo decentralized Uniswap got some gullible chap to catch some feelings  Grin

2040  Economy / Exchanges / "Decentralized" exchange dYdX confirms blocking accounts linked to tonado cash on: August 12, 2022, 12:24:11 PM
Well, is it diabolical?

The same startups and projects that claim to bring in excellent new solutions, new decentralization, web 3.0 or even web 100.0 are the same projects that end up making a big U turn after a couple of years when they get numbers in trading volumes and start bending the rules.

One of the culprits is dYdX

Look what their founder said a couple of days back

https://twitter.com/AntonioMJuliano/status/1556763064598511616

And then this happens

https://twitter.com/exegor/status/1557453734522884097

Well there was some collateral damage too

https://twitter.com/dYdX/status/1557483063231164416

The platform said it has used compliance vendors to scan for and flag accounts potentially associated with illicit activities, including sanctions lists for many countries.

Cryptocurrency derivatives trading platform dYdX said it blocked some users’ accounts with funds linked to Tornado Cash, including mistakenly suspending some that never directly engaged with the controversial mixer

Question is do you still believe in these "DEXES" that are run by smart contracts and who devs can just wake up any day and make tweaks based on their mood or emotions?
