2481  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] ChipMixer.com - Bitcoin mixer / Bitcoin tumbler - mixing reinvented on: July 20, 2021, 07:00:27 AM
Also, destroying the session seems to work alright generating a new id and address.
I had a somewhat different experience while using the Tor browser... When I tried starting a new mix [immediately after destroying the session], I still kept seeing/getting the previous session [same ID/address] but that wasn't an issue when I relaunched my browser.
- Not sure if that's how the Tor browser normally reacts since I rarely use it.

@ChipMixer
Thank you for allowing us to test v3 Smiley
2482  Other / Meta / Re: Enable posting by paying fee on: July 20, 2021, 05:11:26 AM
If any very-veteran members want to volunteer, I can give you the ability to whitelist users.
I'm interested in this one as well...

Before whitelisting someone, you have to do something to be pretty sure that they're not evading a ban and just going to get banned again.
If volunteers are limited in the exact same way that we are when it comes to connecting the dots for alt accounts, then I think the current staff would probably do a much better [more accurate] job [assuming they have additional resources at their disposal].
2483  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: GPUs at MSRP? When will we see this? on: July 19, 2021, 07:50:27 AM
When do you think we will return to a time when you can buy GPUs at MSRP regularly?
Despite seeing minuscule declines recently, realistically it'd be in 2 years or so [in general] and I already factored in the changes with Ethereum.

Is this an opportunity for an unknown chipmaker to step up and battle with AMD/Nvidia for market share?
Defnitiely and perhaps it's Tianshu Zhixin [source #1 and source #2] but at the same time, there's also the following strange news about intel [link].
2484  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: BITCONSUM.COM | Free Universal Marketplace For Crypto Community on: July 19, 2021, 05:36:31 AM
Since there's no ad and it's a free listing platform, then how you'd be making money?
- You might want to create a FAQ page as well.

Error/bug:

  • While I was looking through the cars category, I noticed that one of the listings has a different price [5.202BTC], as opposed to the actual listing [1.887].
  • This "one" doesn't have a "GO TO WEBSITE" link, so does it mean the whole process would happen purely on your platform?

What sort of security measures do you have in place for getting rid of the fake/scam-published ads?
2485  Economy / Goods / Re: CryptoCloaks -We design & manufacture 3D printed and metal products for Bitcoin! on: July 19, 2021, 04:25:31 AM
Quite tempting but I'm scared to order such a thing Cheesy
- I'm curious to know how that came in the package since on CryptoCloaks it mentioned we have to assemble some of the parts.

@CryptoCloaks
Apart from Rpi4 cases, is there a way to create larger cases [e.g. Ultra/full ATX cases]?
- Front panel will be good enough for me...

Update:
lol you have to put the pieces together - not too difficult the top half screws on to the bottom half Smiley

as for printing an ATX case - it could be done with a cr30 (conveyor belt printer) or in pieces that either lock together or get fixed together somehow - either screws or glue.
Thank you for the answers [I appreciate it], I thought it was going to be much more complicated than that Smiley
2486  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2021-07-16] Police confiscate, destroy 1000+ ASICs in Malaysia on: July 18, 2021, 04:09:56 PM
Mainly s3 I think?
Hard to tell from the video but IIRC, they only came with black chassis.

Note: the crime was simply electricity theft, not mining itself.
And even though I do agree with what Lucius said yesterday ["sending a message"], it's still a bit weird that they chose to destroy mining rigs worth $1.3M, instead of selling those to cover for more than half of the stolen electricity estimated at $2M and on top of that, the little fine [$1,900]  they've given to 6/8 individuals doesn't make much sense [even with the added jail time].

2487  Other / Meta / Re: Enable posting by paying fee on: July 18, 2021, 12:29:53 PM
Is there any way he can pay the fee in any other altcoin where tx fee is not greater than the amount itself
Indirectly, there's another way to pay with "grin" but I'm not sure about its fees...

or suggestions on how to pay fee effectively ?
Tell them to follow what's in the fourth paragraph [assuming that the proxy ban page hasn't changed since this "screenshot" was uploaded] of the "remove proxyban" page:

Code:
If you don't have any bitcoins, you can get small amounts of free bitcoins using the sites listed here. It is recommended that you give the free bitcoin sites the address listed above. Do not collect money in your own wallet and then send the bitcoins to the forum -- this will likely result in significant network fees.
2488  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Three laptops for sale! Excellent working condition and they run great! on: July 18, 2021, 11:09:32 AM
I will send the specific details of each computer to anyone who is interested in purchasing them.
~Snipped~
Will send pics and info on each computer to anyone who is interested. All the laptops come with the chargers as well.
Nobody in their right mind would "really" be interested unless they'd know what they'll be purchasing first [the names and prices means nothing without the configs and pics].
- While you're at it, you should follow the format from "this" thread and write your forum name and the date on a piece of paper [it'll help with the sale].
2489  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Episode #1: What is Bitcoin? (New YouTube Channel) on: July 18, 2021, 07:15:48 AM
Few suggestions:

  • Since your target audiences are newbies/newcomers, you should consider breaking down some of the words or sentences into simpler versions [ELI5].
  • There were few parts that I felt you were reading from a note of some sort, so I'd suggest describing stuff naturally as opposed to perfectly formulated sentences.
  • Make your future clips shorter and try to make it more fun as opposed to being a bit plain [it'll help with the retention rate].

Best of luck Smiley
2490  Economy / Goods / Re: 3D printed parts in ASA, PETG, CF PLA on: July 17, 2021, 08:32:02 AM
I figured I'd offer my services to anyone that wants it.
Just to be clear, this isn't limited to those in the US, like most of your other threads?
- I just recently ordered one [haven't arrived yet] from one of the known users in here and I'd probably order one [if you'd ship outside the US] by next month [just to compare their qualities].

heat resistant parts,
Shouldn't it be under the ASA instead?

Lastly, I do post-processing on the parts which is something most places won't do beyond the very basics.
I believe that's a separate service, am I right? How much is the hourly rate for those?
- While you're at it, you might want to also mention the hourly rate [regardless of the filament types] for the printing part.
2491  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2021-07-15] Fed Chairman Says U.S. Might Need More Crypto Regulation. Here’s Wh on: July 17, 2021, 07:26:42 AM
IMO, it doesn't make sense to regulate some of the cryptocurrencies while also trying to introduce their own CBDC, which essentially replaces those stablecoins.

I agree with most of the things that "Uehlein" said in that article [especially the part that this won't have much impact on BTCitcoin] but I slightly disagree with regulations potentially being the reason behind the elimination of most smaller cryptocurrencies; we already have a lot of those due to "various reason" other than being regulated.
2492  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Why do all crypto trading sites require so many steps for registration on: July 17, 2021, 04:48:23 AM
but it took waaaay to long to register. I needed to provide my email and pass, then confirm email, set up 2FA, get code on my phone via SMS,
Just because it took a while to do those steps, shouldn't mean it's a bad thing [security always comes first].

leave my personal data, address, upload ID, upload this document, upload that document...
That's always the case when it comes to using centralized cryptocurrency exchanges.

Why is so complicated to buy crypto currency?
I believe you're using the wrong type of exchange for your needs; you might want to refer to the following thread instead [make sure to read all of the comments]: exchanges that don't accept kyc
2493  Economy / Reputation / Re: Timelord2067 Neutral Tag For My Profile on: July 17, 2021, 03:59:18 AM
What is this for? Should Timelord2067 tag me and tell people I'm not alt DarkStar?
It's just a precaution and I've "done" the same thing before but it was requested by the owner itself [Is my Username Permitted?].

I feel a little intimidated by the Timelord2067 review or tag on my profile,
Don't be and it isn't shown by default [for now].

this makes me think that this forum doesn't give me the right to choose the username I want.
You're free to choose any username that you'd like, as long as it doesn't resemble someone else's account [especially the staff or known users].
- See how many I reported here [I do know your case is a little bit different]: Similar Usernames Attempting To Scam - Defaults Please Tag

2494  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I can't reply to some topics on: July 16, 2021, 03:06:18 PM
Also if you are ignores by someone who created the topic. Cant reply to that and see it.
No, that's not the case... You can reply to topics that were made by someone that ignored you, but they'll only see the following line instead of the post itself:
Code:
This user is currently ignored.

Sorry for the fire drill. Now I see it.
Topics are locked by the owner when they think they have found the answer to the query and also to stop spam. Like your topic in my opinion has been answered by @JeromeTash. Now it is better that you go ahead and lock this topic if you are satisfied with the answer. Otherwise this topic will get spammed and later on might get deleted by the moderators.
Yes, the previous post is locked. But this post needs to be locked by the moderator, right? I can't lock it myself. In the previous post, I wanted to lock it myself, but I won’t be able to lock it.
It appears that you forgot to use the correct [beertoll] account but just to answer the question, the "lock topic" button is in the bottom left corner of the page Roll Eyes
2495  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: First time paying in person with bitcoin: Computer Heads on: July 16, 2021, 12:51:33 PM
so I replaced those as only a computer-ignoramus could (that’s me).
Seeing that you at least know how to change the components, hopefully, you took out the storage [e.g. HDD/SSD/M.2 NVMe] before you gave your PC to them...
- I do know Dan seems like a great person but looks can be deceiving.

Also, I said if they would accept bitcoin in this case I’d write up a post on bitcointalk relating my experience.
So that's why he did it [just kidding] Cheesy

he might look into a payment processor like BitPay.
Hopefully they will hook up with BitPay or another service
BitPay isn't that great [BitPay (anti-BTCitcoin)].
- The above link is a bit outdated but it shows their true nature.

We both took note that our transaction still had not confirmed,
~Snipped~
And still, our transaction hadn’t confirmed.
I hope that doesn't discourage Dan from accepting BTCitcoin in the future.

He mentioned the name of the wallet he was using, and it didn't even ring a bell, even though I think I've seen most of the mobile ones.
Have you tried to get back to him and see if everything went well on his side?

BTW, thanks to those that bumped this thread in the past two days...
- Without those, I would've missed this amazing thread.
2496  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Security risk on: July 16, 2021, 10:00:29 AM
But often you will hear that one exchange is hacked or so.
Does is really mean that the security risk of Cryptocurrencies is higher than that of fiat banks?
I believe you meant to compare banks with centralized cryptocurrency exchanges and that's still not a fair comparison... You give your money to one of them to keep it safe while you use the other one mostly for conversions and in some instances to profit.

One is that many banks are not yet fully digital so they are still conducting their business offline
I don't think that's "still" the case in most countries; they've evolved and most likely rely on it to be "fully" operational.
2497  Economy / Digital goods / Re: WTB PSN Gift Card EU (IT) on: July 16, 2021, 08:14:18 AM
You should consider most of the users that sell such things at ridiculously cheap prices to be a scammer, so instead, I'd suggest buying from the following reliable platforms:

Other options: Gift cards providers
2498  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: I made a site that lets you share your story & inspire other blockchain actors on: July 16, 2021, 06:35:41 AM
The only thing lacking is some sort of communication between each one of those creators and the readers, within your platform [it'll also help with having a better retention rate].
- Just simply add a comment section and allow readers to ask other questions as well [you could also give unique badges to the creators so they're easily distinguishable from the rest].

/Bookmarked.
Yes, kailangan iupdate para lumabas yung tatlong bagong tokens and two days before their Twitter announcement, "dinagdag nila yung mga tokens":

You can now buy, sell and store USDC, Chainlink, and KNC on http://Coins.ph! 🎉🎉🎉

*In order to access the new tokens, please update your app to the latest version.
2500  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Warning] Quincoin.org uses plagiarized content on its whitepaper and website on: July 15, 2021, 08:04:22 PM
Good work buddy, I’ve tagged them & supported your flag. You put some real work in here, kudos.
Thank you for the kind words and also for the tag/support part Smiley

Unfortunately, @Quincoin didn't plagiarize on his/her forum post [won't be nuked], but luckily one of the mods trashed it:
