Just tried a kabbalistic numerolgy website to see what we get on the word 'bitcoin'. I'm not really sure what system it actually uses (what is the hebrew for bitcoin?)

also note that you have to register your Dwolla account if you wish to use it for withdrawals, even if it's already linked for deposits.

How would people feel about me issuing an asset on GLBSE for EIEIO?  Once you hit the 6% threshold, you'd receive 1 bond per 1 btc you have invested and it'd pay .06 every two weeks just like it does now.  The difference being, that if you want out or want to lessen your exposure, you could sell it to the market at large.  The opposite would also be true.. if someone wanted in, they could actually bid over 1 btc which would reduce their yield a bit, but still allow them access to a pretty high, non-pirate related asset.  Should I make this a poll?  Should I only convert those that want to be converted?  I've certainly not made a decision, just stewing over different ideas to help people out.

Yep, I'm all for this.

Hi,
Is it still possible to open an account with BTCST? I am very much interested, I just don't know anyone who could refer me. :/

If anybody wants to chat to get to know me a bit, contact me via PN please.

The way to go now, especially if you plan on investing < BTC2,000 is one of the many pirate pass throughs, on GLBSE you can find the PPT issues that have a 25% insurance from 6 high rep guys & pay excellent interest on a 4 week bond, there is also goat's TYGRR.B-P paying about 6.6% (if you buy @ 1.02) - 6.8% per week. Lenders forum has PAYB.TC - Bitcoinmax with the best rate of 6.9% on any amounts over BTC10 per week, see Starfish/Patrick's 'Who offers what' 'Who Pays What' thread for others.

Edit @m_yaw If you do happen to wish to invest > BTC2,000 & plan on leaving it there for at least 3 months then feel free to PM me re a possible referral with a little more info about youself & what you're planing/hoping to do, thanks.

This would be prefect for me, anyone can roughly estimate the quantities of loans that you have made already from posts here - I don't think that the info needs to be private unless ppl choose to opt out of the database. In other news a BTC symbol button for posts  Smiley

Bitcoin's horoscope for today June 19, 2012

I'm always nervous about giving overly positive predictions to people born under your sign. I know that there is a natural Capricornian inclination towards caution. You tend to feel it is better to set a realistic goal and achieve it, than to develop a great expectation and end up disappointed. Somehow, when I wax too lyrical or seem to promise too much, I risk offending your sensibilities. Yet what am I suppose to say at a time like this? Your outlook is excellent. I'll leave you to decide whether to get excited.

New Moon in Gemini - focused, self sufficient, new beginnings

Bitcoin's horoscope for today June 20, 2012

Here comes the Sun's annual ingress into your opposite sign. And here comes the Solstice as well. Here comes change and here comes challenge.

2509  Economy / Services / Re: Gigamining / Teramining on: June 18, 2012, 11:40:43 PM
To all interested parties:

...

That being said, I am considering creating a new security, where holders of gigamining could volunteer to upgrade their gigamining bonds to the new bond, plus a fee. This would both keep the existing gigamining contract intact and would allow for an upgrade path for those interested in doing so.

All of this is still many months away, so until then, gigamining will remain at 5Mh/s. When the mini rigs arrive, we will still celebrate with 110% coupon payments for three weeks. Looking beyond, gigamining will continue to be both the largest and best perpetual mining bond in existence.

Best regards,
gigavps

I recently started to invest in gigamining after being impressed by your handling of the BFL Single auction, I bought in for 500 bonds between 1.44 & 1.38, I'd like to continue investing long term & an upgrade for a fee to new bonds, a bit like BFL is offering by discounting previous outdated products against new orders for the next gen ones seems to me the fairest way to go in the interests of your existing investors & continuing good will, thanks for today's div of 2.225% per week on present bonds. (just under 2.1% return on present value or around 1.58% return per week atm on the average price that I paid - which I am fine with).

for your astuteness I hereby do appoint you citizen & honorary consul of Bitcoinia & our ambassador to Bitcoinastan, your passport & posting docs will be sent in the next diplomatic bag.
Thank you - I'm honored! But I don't have to give up my current citizenship & passport first, do I? Smiley
thank you for accepting & absolutely not - the more PP you hold the better  Grin if the bribes & backhanders get to much in Bitcoinistan then you may wish to ditch any US citizenship but purly for tax avoidance purposes like that guy from the Facebook IPO.
OK, then I'll take it Smiley

Cool, that'll be $1M arrangement fee upfront then, pse to remit in coins to the address in my sig  Cool

TYGRR is 100% unverified and yet he seems to be a fair guy - IMO more trustworthy than some others, verified ones.
So I vote against a requirement to verify!

As Otoh has pointed out, the verification process can be cheated - such a requirement would only create an illusion of safety, without actually making GLBSE a safer place.

+1 & for your astuteness I hereby do appoint you citizen & honorary consul of Bitcoinia & our ambassador to Bitcoinistan (no relation to Bitcoinica - well maybe some Wink), your passport & posting docs will be sent in the next diplomatic bag.

btw: On GLBSE I have shares/bonds with Giga, Bitbond, BTC-MC & Goat, in the past with PPTs too including a lot of the last E issue, I pay very little attention to verified or not.
2513  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: GLBSE - request for next features on: June 18, 2012, 05:52:57 PM
How about extra points for verification with a diplomatic passport, photo driving license, ID card & utility bills package

I'm just surprised that they don't take bitcoins, though I expect someone on TSR probably does if only as acting as a pass through.

It's not good enough for Gox to say that they're working on it, they need to say what the problem is & when they expect to have it solved by & if they haven't yet done so to place a notification on their withdrawals page stating how long Wires & Dwolla are taking atm.

Gah, I had a buy order for PPT.E that disappeared when the dividend happened, and now the BTC is still listed as unavailable in my account. Does anyone know to fix that without opening a support ticket?
It's a known bug. Nef has to correct it manually.

Unfortunately he takes forever to do this, I've had over 130 BTC tied up unusable for a fortnight now, despite posts, PMs & emails to support & his personal address.

I'm hopeful you don't know what a fortnight is and you think that it means a quarter of a day, because if this takes two weeks+ to be resolved I'm going to be upset. Wink

Edit: Got this email today.

GLBSE support.
Pretty good support time on the weekend there.

mine too got sorted out today (2 weeks interest on that sum tied up would have earned me over $150 @ pirate.inc) & yes it's probably thanks to me patiently sending reminders & bitching about it that made yours resolve so fast

Patrick hi,

If you have the capacity then I would like to deposit 700 BTC with your non pirate, guaranteed scheme @ 1.5% per week, rolling it over for compound interest.

A couple of questions, do you have or are you planning a web site or such to manage these or do you send out weekly statements, also have you any kind of dead man's switch in place as this is quite a lot of funds that you're managing altogether.

Many thanks, no rush at all,

Copy of reply pm.

As an additional note, having watched various web sites get hacked over the past year, I have no ambition to make the list of biggest bitcoin-robberies.

_____________________________________________________________________________

I am planning on dropping to 1%/week in July, but am constantly assessing/reassessing that - depends on the income I can generate of the coins.

I am not planning a web site for several reasons.  One, if I did one it would be ugly as sin and not very secure (my programming skills are not web/html skills).  Second, it's really easy to track balances, but if you lose track, pm/skype/email works as contact points.

Dead-man switch is something I'm continuing to document as there is quite a lot of funds tied up.  I have someone who can unwind all of the positions/assets/loans/deposits.

Patrick

Just a place where one could track interest payments, rate, current balance, past payments, deposits & withdrawals etc, even if public would be OK for me, but not essential - IMSA doesn't have one either but it is reassuring to get updates once in a while so that one knows that it all ticking over nicely & where one's funds stand balance wise at least.

700 BTC deposited to Starfish BCB, many thanks - hope that it works well for you.

Bitcoin's horoscope for the week ahead ~ June 16, 2012

What's the rush? Why is someone in such a hurry? Is it truly essential that something happens before a particular moment has past? Or is this just a way of gaining power by applying pressure. Try not to get sucked into a drama that you really should stand back from. Don't be unco-operative. Avoid causing controversy. But, at the same time, keep your sense of perspective and be a little cautious of anyone who tries to suggest that if it doesn't happen, right here, right now, it will somehow all be too late.
