2701  Economy / Services / Re: Looking to rent Full / Senior / Hero signatures on: June 21, 2014, 06:26:01 PM
Everyone has their own tolerance for risk, but IMO escrow was not needed because:
    - an initial payment was promised upfront (paid immediately, as promised)
    - payments are to be made weekly (not a long time)
    - amount of BTC is not a significant amount
    - no real commitment on my part (I can quit anytime)

OP also established certain posting guidelines, but they seem reasonable.

We are talking about a service -  posting - not goods.  I post anyway, so, for me, the risk is minimal.
I'm game for playing the "guinea pig" for now, giving him time to establish a track record.
No doubt I will continue to evaluate/ assess as we go along - as anyone would, for any deal.

YMMV

True, everyone has their risk tolerance and this is an extra for what you would do anyway; but it's nice when people follow through with what they agree to do, and escrow makes sure of that. And indeed the OP has said that he was willing to use it; unfortunately, he has not done so so far, which is often not a good sign, as others have mentioned in this thread. Also, even if the OP pays a few people that do come here and join in the first month, without escrow or at least reputation on this site, it's anyone's guess whether or not he would be willing to pay when the campaign is full; the recent situation with UpDown comes to mind for example. But still, it's your choice whether or not you want to risk it, and to be honest, I hope everything goes well.

By the way, this campaign is apparently to be paid every 2 weeks (bi-weekly), not on a weekly basis (see OP's second post).
2702  Economy / Services / Re: Looking to rent Full / Senior / Hero signatures on: June 21, 2014, 05:31:09 PM
Hi,t pay
As i saw in previous posts of Stunna these days he will not allow any new users in his campaign. Not sure if the OP is updated, but the PD campaign is full for now. BTW Do you have any limit for post counting per week?
BR
Gondel

Where did he say such a thing? I saw no posts that stated the campaign was not accepting new members. As far as I know, that was only a suggestion people were throwing around so that the campaign could perhaps go back to the previous post limits, and to avoid alt accounts joining and spamming the forum.

We're still looking to fill slots.

Have you given any more thought about using escrow to hold the funds? Without doing so, most people will rightly find this campaign too risky to join. Don't take this the wrong way, but you are still a new user here, and people are tired of being scammed.
2703  Other / Off-topic / Re: FUTURE- What whould you like in the ~future~????? on: June 21, 2014, 04:42:34 PM
War is a must.  War has been a necessity since 1842.

War isn't a necessity anymore than beating your wife on a daily basis is a necessity; it's just another form of exploitation.

Where's my back to the future hover board I still want one of those  Huh

See my previous post about the jetpacks. Tongue
2704  Economy / Services / Re: [PrimeDice] [Highest Paid Signature] Earn Bitcoins Simply By Posting on: June 20, 2014, 10:17:54 PM
[...]

The spam has been a major issue for a while, anyone have some sort of suggestion on what they feel fair pricing is per rank?

As others have pointed out, I'm not sure there is one. I mean, one way would be to change this to a campaign that pays a fixed amount, based on your rank/activity, for a set number of posts, and nothing beyond that (like Gaw Miners for example); but that will clearly be unfair for those that usually post far above that amount.

I would just get like 10 of oldest/ most trusted members of this camapign and pay them to check others and whenever they see some spam post with pd sig just give him a strike. Vouple of stikes and u are out. That way in campaign will be left like 50people but with quality posts and i would pay them nice amount, with some max ofc.

We need to find a way to eliminate spam and jet keep people in sig campaign happy.
I am not so happy about .24 per month, tbh, but i understand why Stunna had to do it.

I can't say I'm happy with this idea, but I think this is the best option so far. Make the process public so people can defend themselves, and kick spammers out of the campaign, maybe giving them negative trust for abusing the system. For good measure, maybe increase the required entry rank for the campaign.

Another option also previously mentioned is what was in place in the beginning, that is, decreasing rates the higher the number of posts you make. I suppose it would prevent some people from spamming, but I guess others would simply create/buy several accounts and continue.

Why didn't you answer the question?
Is it allowed to answer questions out of strict chronological order?

Have you read the opening post? Tongue

Do you mean, Pussy Quiet? Grin Sorry about the slight off topic, but since you mention Putin and Pussy Riot, I thought I'd share this:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0VD33jRpeMM

It's an episode of Juice Rap News; I think it's well worth the time to watch the whole thing (6 minutes), but here's a quote from the part I wanted to share:

Quote

Robert Foster: Speaking of your secrets, have you found Edward Snowden?
General Baxter: The traitor?! He defected with our data and went and sold them to the Russians!
Robert Foster: The Russians? Right, that's our chance to cross to Moscow, with correspondent Ivan Sakamunev. Your thoughts?
Ivan Sakamunev: Ivan Sakamunev... In Russia, where is Sochi good time for snow sport.
Robert Foster: So, Snowden?
Ivan Sakamunev: Benevolent Russian state protect political dissident from regime of USSA.
General Baxter: You damn Commun... er Capitalist! Hand back our spy!
Ivan Sakamunev: In space race news: NASA now need our rockets to fly. And in race to rape planet: Russia get more resource and not need... what... two illegal wars?
Robert Foster: There have been protests against drilling the Arctic zone.
Ivan Sakamunev: Protests? You mean lost Greenpeace tourists we help get home? Also, Pussy Riot lost in Siberia... could've died but Putin rescue them... now they new name: Pussy Quiet.

[...] Well at least it's more productive than the 200 days, I spend on Batmud {Online game}

That brings back memories. Grin I used to play on a mud over a decade ago (lands of lore maybe, I'm not sure). However, it had permadeath, and more or less free pk; my character didn't last long.  Roll Eyes

Oh well, at least the 45 days I've passed in this forum so far have been mostly devoid of deaths. Smiley
2708  Other / Archival / Re: Updated Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns on: June 20, 2014, 06:34:30 PM
Bitcoininformation, the Gaw Miners' campaign has 1 free spot. I'm sure it won't last long though. Smiley

Yeah, don't put them on the list yet hence why I said potential deal, but I think all campaigns that pop up should at least be mentioned somewhere in this thread. Someone will've pointed it out eventually any way. Always glad to see more deals but I'm very skeptical of them all especially with what is currently happening with UpDownbit. I hope he surprises everyone and comes back for payday though.

He has defined some limits to the campaign now, but seems to be ignoring/delaying the escrow part so far.  Undecided Still, at least one member has been paid 0.01 in advance.

If I did the math right, I think I might be promoted to Senior Member before the next payday (17/07); is it safe to remove the Full Member signature mid-term in order to replace it? Smiley

How do you know you are going to be sr member? It's not about the post count, it's activity!

You get 14 activity every 2 weeks that you post atleast 1 post.

Because of this, and because our activity will increase 2 more times before payday, so 28 points for those that continue posting. In my case that is 224 + 28 > 240 that is needed for Senior Member rank.

Yeah, you can edit your PD signature you will only be denied payment if you switch to any other ad campaign while enrolled or remove your PD signature.

Great, thanks for the quick reply.

Anybody in the early 90s remember the show "beyond 2000". It might of just been in .AU
We were told we would have flying cars by now.
where the hell is my flying car ? I am still driving on 4 wheels like the rest of society. I want to fly around, or atleast hover like in star wars.

That show lied, and I want retributions, hmm I think that is the right word ?

I've never heard of that show; maybe it never passed the equator. Smiley

Anyway, relevant xkcd (http://xkcd.com/1382/):

2712  Other / Off-topic / Re: Who is the most important person ever? on: June 20, 2014, 05:52:20 PM
Jesus Christ is the most important among them.

No just no... Millions have died due to christianity.. religion is the cause of pretty much all of the violence on this planet.

Sure, maybe millions have died in his name, but this doesn't necessarily have to be "the most important person ever" only for good reasons. Tongue

And of course, there is always the part about religion more often than not being used as an excuse; the population in general might be true believers, but they were/are just being used to further someone's worldly power/access to resources. In this sense, religion is just another tool to be used, not the cause.
2713  Other / Off-topic / Re: FUTURE- What whould you like in the ~future~????? on: June 20, 2014, 05:39:56 PM
Space travel is a must, hopefully with a decent FTL method. Smiley Then, also AIs and advanced nanotechnology.

PS: was this the point of this thread? You should start by including your thoughts about it. Tongue
2714  Other / Off-topic / Re: Answer the question above with a question. on: June 20, 2014, 05:33:45 PM
Is there an easy eay to find all of your posts in a particular topic so you can delete them?

Considering the size of this thread and your total post count, perhaps by using the forum's search function or google/startpage/wtv?

PS: also, from what I've read, it seems that deleting your posts doesn't always work; sorry, but you might actually be stuck with this thread. Wink
2715  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Alien disclosure and my personal encounter on: June 20, 2014, 05:16:32 PM
some have claimed that subatomic particles react differently when observed.

that's actually not just a claim. it's a confirmed scientific fact. but that doesn't make dank NOT crazy.. it's kind of sad though, because whatever we say, he will still not understand that he's schizophrenic.

That's true, but it's probably a good idea to clarify that observed  in this context doesn't imply there must be a conscious observer; a wall would work as well as anything else those particles could interact with.
2716  Economy / Services / Re: Looking to rent Full / Senior / Hero signatures | 0.01 BTC up front on: June 20, 2014, 04:54:13 PM
Still looking to fill our 20 slots.  Please reply/PM if you're interested.

Perhaps it would be a good idea to choose an escrow first; the users escrow.ms or bitcoininformation for example seem pretty trustworthy in this community. Also, it might be a good idea to limit the number of max posts per time period, and defining what types of posts you're going to pay, to make sure people avoid spamming for the extra btc.
2717  Other / Off-topic / Re: Answer the question above with a question. on: June 20, 2014, 04:20:08 PM
Wait, is proof of work in the form of a captcha required to spam this thread now?

Does anybody else regret ever posting a question here?

Can't you just stop "watching" this thread, or delete your posts here if you regret it so much? Tongue

Seeing how a few posters would side with the aliens to become their pets but keep their life I start to doubt this community.
Too many back stabbers here Wink.

Well, I'm not sure you'd be that trustworthy in that situation either, depending on how "good looking" the aliens are. Grin

Depends on how good looking those aliens are..

One nuclear bomb treat to them and they will leave us alone instantly, why? Because a nuclear bomb will kill almost everything that has life (including us), and I don't think they want a contaminated or dead planet, otherwise the wouldn't be here in the first place.

They could be after mineral resources for all we know; whether it's a dead planet or not would make little difference (though as I said previously, I think there would be better uses of the energy they'd have to spend to get here). Then, good luck actually hitting their ships; provided it has enough energy, a simple laser would be more than capable of taking care of incoming missiles.
2720  Economy / Economics / Re: Solution to poverty - Socialism or Capitalism? on: June 20, 2014, 03:01:19 AM
This may be ideal, but there is no real way to achieve this (everyone to be rich enough to be satisfied).

People will always have varying levels of skill levels and work ethic. This would undervalue people who have high skill levels and work ethic while overvaluing people on the opposite side. Generally speaking in order to be satisfied most people would wish to have something above average.

That seems to me to be more a question of education/values than anything else. Personally, I wouldn't care how much I made compared to others, provided I had enough to live and had a work I really liked; I don't think money is necessarily the best incentive.

It isn't that you don't make more then others. It is that in order to buy what makes you comfortable you would need to earn more then the average.

But again, what makes you comfortable seems to me to be a function of education, or if you will, your values; not everyone is happy just by being able to buy luxuries.
