3121  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The more popular Bitcoin is, the more valuable it is? on: August 15, 2021, 04:31:21 PM
Bitcoin is limited. Everyone uses Bitcoin for payment and daily transactions. Bitcoin is becoming more and more popular. Many people know that Bitcoin also has countries that set Bitcoin as legal tender. If Bitcoin is used to pay salaries, is it necessary to collect taxes?

To answer your question, yes. Anything that is collected as a means of income is subject to tax depending on the country where BTC is converted into legal tender. Any form of profit or income is taxable by the government and its respective rates depend upon the country.

As you call it and it makes a lot of sense. if there are many large companies that have an impact on the economy of many people will adopt bitcoin as payments, the demand will certainly increase and with limited coins the price will also increase. not the other way around. because not everyone using bitcoins for transactions. nowadays more people are used to long term investment or trading, so its balanced between people that using it for investment and for people who use as payment.

Like what OP said, in order for this to happen, it is essential that BTCs must be converted to legal tender. But, even without the implementation of it, companies may still adopt it as a form of payment to their products/services due to its widespread popularity over the years.
3122  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: holding is not an easy thing on: August 15, 2021, 12:59:16 PM
alot of people really want to hold but the daily needs of life make them sell off at little profit and solve their needs which is really good. but later they notice the coin they sold cheap is worth enough to liberate them. this kind of occurences are painful but its really not his fault. this brings me to the question of maybe holding is for the rich who can afford to buy and forget. ? lets discuss this, thank you.

What do you mean by HODLing is for the rich? Anyone can HODL- to be honest, I started with nothing before I joined this forum. All the proceeds that I got from participating in campaign signatures, I kept them and HODL them until the price of BTC skyrocketed at the last quarter of 2018. After that, I sold all and profited almost instantly.

HODLing is not for the rich- it is for the people who have a goal of reaching long-term investments. The rule in HODLing is always the same- purchase low, sell high. If you are comfortable enough with the proceeds during the 'high', then you can sell 60% of your coin and re-purchase the remaining for a higher profit.
3123  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Always gamble with sense on: August 15, 2021, 12:21:44 PM
I have seen a lots of gamblers recently making consistent huge loses in gambling especially unregulated gambling which result is not even determined by the gambling sites or individual efforts but by nature like sport bets like football, Tennis, Basket ball etc. One could say that a bet is being manipulated especially for games which results are regulated by gambling sites and casinos.

Sport bets results are never regulated/determined by gambling sites but I still see individual gamblers making quite a huge losses in sport gambling which I believe it's abnormal to me and there is need to have a rethink after much losses.

Could this be normal for one to be having consistent losses in sport betting when result is not even determined by betting platforms? I have been reasoning of what could be the reason of such losses or could it be as a result of less knowledge in a particular sport.

What are you implying? We are talking about gambling and it's normal for a gambler to loss multiple times since he is making a bet especially if consistently picking bet with higher odds. Many gamblers tends to bet on risky bet to have a huge gain for a short period time but luck of knowledge in sports betting will put player in to disadvantage because he is just basing his bet base on odds offer by the casino. I sometimes pick a risky bet whenever the odds is pretty good for a team or player that has a potential to turn the table around but it doesn't that I will lose consistently by doing that.
It's not normal for a gambler to be making consistent losses in bet cause the aims of gambling is to make profits and to purse that aims, one ends up in making quite a vast losses that is capable of becoming a victim of circumstances. It's okey to gamble but it's another fault when the motive of gambling is compromised. For most gamblers here, you'll feel ok when you are making losses in betting? It's normal to make losses in gambling but abnormal to be making g continuous losses.

If your aim is to make profits, then why would a person rely on something that is very unpredictable? Gambling primarily for profit has either two (2) results: either you win or you lose. Unfortunately, this method cannot guarantee any absolute profit on your end- which is why the person aiming for profit may result into a losing streak where he/she forces to make profit on an unpredictable platform.

It is not abnormal when a person is making continuous losses. I mean, that is gambling for you! If gambling has a guaranteed outcome, then everyone right now would be probably rich. You just have to accept that there are people who are luckier than others, where others win and others lose.
3124  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What do we do when a campaign is discovered to be a fraud on: August 15, 2021, 08:11:43 AM
..... I believe the one of the factors that prove the credibility of a signature campaign is the rank of members they allow to apply, most campaigns are usually open to Full members to legendary rank only, while others are even more strict and require Hero members to legendary rank only. So what happens when high members help promote a scam campaign?

Forum ranks are irrelevant in determining the credibility of a signature campaign. There are tons of hero - legendary users who are involved in scams. Not to mention, there are also tons of legendary ranks who were sold and purchased by some people. That is why, credibility cannot be determined by the rank alone.

If you think that a campaign has been involved in a series of scams, you can always report the ANN thread and/or open a flag accusation against them. The manager of the campaign, also, has to be informed about the accusation. Should the accusation prove to be with merit, then the campaign manager has to close the campaign.
3125  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can BTC become the world central currency? on: August 14, 2021, 07:31:04 PM
Short answer: No;
Long answer: Possibly.

The reason is that, in order for BTC to be considered as the world central currency, it is essential and vital that all countries must accept it to be the main legal tender in transactions. In addition, almost all countries must be technological adapted when they implement BTC as the world currency since it requires the connection of the internet in order to have a stable transaction.

However, imagine that the world central currency has a cap of 21 million. This would result to an inflation of its price where people would purchase it at a high price in order to transact.
3126  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can anything make you stop gambling on: August 14, 2021, 09:27:06 AM
I have being gambling for quite a while now and  I don't think I'm addicted to it but nothing can make me stop gambling. Gambling is like a joy to me, it makes me happy and any time I tried to stop entirely, I would see my see going back to it.

Gambling is intoxicating and can give a great fortune if one is lucky and with the right fate. Can anything stop you from gambling...maybe your family, friends, circumstances or even your losses?

The fact that you admitted that 'nothing can make you stop in gambling' means that you are addicted to the game.

What can make a person stop from gambling? It depends but it usually revolves around their self-awareness on their actions. Most gamblers have separated themselves from reality and the society where they live in a world of gambling. What can make them stop is when they personally realize that their actions have been affecting their daily lives (especially if they have a family to feed).

Friends or their respective family can definitely convince them to stop from gambling but this will take at least some sort of dedication on their part.
3127  Economy / Economics / Re: Where is the value reflected? on: August 14, 2021, 07:08:58 AM
The fact that cryptocurrency is accepted for payment for goods and services is certainly very good, since this is what increases the value of cryptocurrencies, but there is one but. For the mass adoption of crypto and increase in value, it is necessary that the cryptocurrency can be used in all stores in the world, especially grocery stores, as well as in cafes and restaurants. The fact is that if, for example, you can buy a Tesla car for BTC, then this is only a small part of people who will take advantage of this opportunity, but if you could come to the supermarket for BTC and buy food, then this probably increased the value of BTC immediately several times. But no matter how it was, let's hope that all this will happen in the near future.

I think we should also factor the price where people are willing to pay cryptocurrencies. Just like gold, its price is derived from: (1) its scarcity and non-renewability; and (2) demand and supply. Just like in cryptocurrencies, as long as people are willing to purchase it at a certain amount, then its price would continue to rise.

The factors including payment for goods and services, etc. are only one of the many things that contribute to its price. But, we should always consider that the gem is on the blockchain technology- where we can transfer payments without the need for any third-party intermediaries. That is why, I do see the price of BTCs increasing over the next following years.
3128  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Taxes on gambling send the right message? on: August 13, 2021, 05:15:47 PM
If you keep the tax on gambling low, more people will properly declare it and pay the tax. There are countries where you have to pay really ridiculously high taxes. And there is virtually no supervision of such practices. So completely pointless. maybe some countries not even charge any money at all as tax.

This depends actually on how the government enforce its taxing power.

Regardless if the tax is high or not, the government can properly monitor on which establishments pay their taxes regularly. The reason on why the government increases the tax is in order to increase their government expenditure. Since taxes are what provide the government the fund to create projects, having a high tax can simply fund their expenditures that will benefit the general public.

Like what I previously mentioned, the power to tax has this implied power of destroying the establishment. It convinces some business owners to close down their businesses due to the high amount of taxes they pay.
3129  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Emotions should never be traded. on: August 13, 2021, 04:31:49 PM
As a result, even if the market falls, you will still have your portfolio. Never trade based on your emotions. Calculate carefully before investing.

I have to highlight the last point you made since this is the most important aspect in trading- "never trade based on your emotions."

The problem with trading stems from the experience of the trader. More often than not, most newbie traders are not accustomed to trading with their resources. They have this false sense of security and hope that whenever they trade, it is going to be considered as "easy money" on their end. But in reality, most newbie day traders lose like 97% of their money.

Like what I previously mentioned, experience plays a vital role in this type of field. Once you get to establish all the necessary indicators, then your trading portfolio would be manageable.
3130  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Magdagdag ng bagong coins si Coins.PH!!! on: August 13, 2021, 12:59:04 PM
Nakita ko lang sa aking Twitter feed mga kabayan.

Source: https://twitter.com/coinsph/status/1409459057832890376?s=21

Para sakin, I smell USDT (probably TRC20) ang pinaka possible na i-add ni Coins. I think others would be TRX? ADA? DOGE? Hmmm….

3131  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting on the Paralympic Games? Ethical or not? on: August 13, 2021, 04:20:23 AM
We will soon see the start of the Paralympic Games.... ( 24 Aug 2021 to 5 Sept 2021 ) ...so I was thinking if it was ethical to bet on these events? Will it be disrespectful towards people with disabilities or will they want to be handled in the same manner that any other athlete wants to be handled?

I spoke to a few disabled people at work and they have no problem if their athletes get the same attention as any other athlete that competes in the Olympic Games.  Wink  They say it will be disrespectful if they are treated in any other way...

So what do you guys and gals think..... ?

Personally, I think the fact that we question whether it is ethical to bet on paralympians or not implies that there is a discrimination towards these PWDs. The ultimate goal here is to see them as equals but considering their disabilities for additional compensation and help.

That is why, I do not see any reason on why there should be a question on why betting them would be ethical or not, though I do understand the reason on bringing this topic up. Regardless, let us continue cheering on them and wishing them the best of luck in their respective games. In addition, let's also continue betting on platforms that are valid!
3132  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bitcoin losing its purpose? on: August 13, 2021, 01:41:29 AM
I think many retail investors in the US are Robinhooder types that have a "Bitcoin go up - me buy!" mentality. They don't realize what the loss of utility from anonymous P2P transactions will mean for Bitcoin.

Of all the things that you mentioned, this is the only phrase that matters- BTCs were created in order to have an anonymous p2p transactions between users. It just so happened that its price on the market is significantly high (collateral damage) that most people purchase it either for short or long-term investment.

The blockchain technology is where it all matters. As long as there is a way in order to transact anonymously, BTCs will still remain relevant in the future. Even if people think that it is the perfect avenue for an investment, as long as people transact with it, it will not easily lose its purpose (and price).
3133  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: {Boxing} Manny Pacquiao vs Yordenis Ugas on: August 12, 2021, 04:26:23 PM
Pacquaio found a replacement so quickly. I wonder if they offer this to Mayweather?
If will still make them good money for the match, people may even cancel schedules to see them again in the ring. I dont't really see Ugas to be a good contender.

I do think it was offered to Mayweather but he would never accept this fight given that he had no prior practice or training beforehand.

While the fight between Pacquiao and Spence were immediately cancelled due to the latter's retina injury, Ugas, on the otherhand, is an interesting fighter. I heard someone mentioned that Ugas has the WBO welterweight belt that Pacquiao used to own and that fact alone makes the fight really interesting. Though not as interesting and explosive, at least there is something that drives Pacquiao to fight his very best against Ugas.

Personally, any fight that involves Pacquiao is a sight to behold. The fact that he is 43 years old and he still manages to fight in the ring is a privilege to us watchers and fans!
3134  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Getting paid in Bitcoin vs getting paid in Fiat on: August 12, 2021, 03:10:58 PM
Which type of currency is better for paying employees? Is it Bitcoin or Fiat? Do you think we'll be able to see more jobs paying Bitcoin in the future? Or will Fiat still dominate the jobs industry? Is working for Bitcoin just like working "under the table"? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Smiley

The only way that I see from this happening is when the world accepts bitcoin as a form of 'legal tender' which can be paid as salary to the employees.

Currently in the Philippines, any form of money that is NOT considered legal tender cannot be paid as a form of salary. Thus, only fiat or cheques are allowed by law. But, if the employee consents to the company, then the latter has the discretion to do so. Personally, I would choose (if possible) to have my salary paid in 70% fiat and 30% in BTC so I could utilize it as a form of investment.

3135  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Manny Pacquiao vs Errol Spence Jr - August 21 on: August 12, 2021, 11:17:31 AM
This thread title should be changed or lock this thread and create another thread for Pacquiao and Ugas since it's already official that the Pacquiao - Spence will not push through anymore, Pacquiao used to be the underdog but now he is the heavy favorite to win the fight, I'm not saying it's going to be an easy fight for Manny but Ugas is not on Spence level.

Yes, there's nothing special from Ugas, he is just an average boxer, not on the level of Spence.

I know that everyone is disappointed of the cancellation, but at least we will see Pacquiao maybe last time before the Philippine election and then hopefully he can still fight win or lose in his political ambition. Every fight is hard, no doubt, but if you are above level then maybe we will see Manny clenching his gloves again and eager for more action from Ugas if he doesn't want to engage Manny toe to toe.

I am in disbelief when I first heard the announcement about the cancellation of the fight. Upon reading the opinions of others, a torn retina is a very dangerous injury that can result to the ending of careers of boxers. While I do think that this reason is very acceptable, I do hope that they show legitimate and genuine documents proving that he did suffered from this injury.

Nevertheless, the fight between Pacquiao and Ugas will still be enjoyable- though not that much in my opinion. The funny thing is, Pacquiao would be the challenger of this fight since he'll be challenging his past WBO welterweight belt.
3136  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Reading is more important than replying on: August 09, 2021, 05:43:42 PM

Replying also requires responsibility. Many people only want to share their thoughts but don't notice that the same thoughts have been posted by others on the same topic. It's a waste of forum resource and a direct result of lack of reading.
Do you mean that there is no need to reply to the same opinions? So how to express that he is the same opinion?
The forum is a place for communication, and communication is unavoidable to talk nonsense.

No, the point here is to avoid any spam replies that has been previously mentioned already by other users. Like what he mentioned, replying requires responsibility. Imagine if you were to read a thread containing replies with the same thought, then there would be no room for any discussions as all will be repetitive.

The forum is indeed a place for communication but you also have the responsibility to observe all the rules stated. Though we are given freedom to communicate our thoughts, there is a limitation as to what we can post/share in order to make this forum a better place for discussions.
3137  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: You got a pifzer ? Then you can be eligible for lottery in Poland. on: August 09, 2021, 05:28:07 PM
Here in the Philippines, most people are not yet vaccinated since some did not go to their respective schedules of vaccination. When the delta variant suddenly hit our country, our government announced another ECQ which prohibited the public from leaving their respective premises without any proof of showing their vaccination cards.

Two to three (2-3) days before the implementation of the ECQ, people flocked all of the vaccination sites in hopes of getting a free shot. The bad thing is, all of these unvaccinated people stormed through the gates without observing all the guidelines of social distancing, etc. So, the only way to get people vaccinated is to literally restrict their freedom!
3138  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is Bitcoin in the highest level of trust? on: August 09, 2021, 05:15:56 PM
So imagine, every transaction is posted on a public ledger where the contents cannot be changed since it is being monitored by almost all people who transact using BTC. The reason on why the blockchain technology has the highest level of trust is due to the miners which constantly check every block to validate all the possible contents of such block. So if you attempt to change the contents of one block, another miner would be able to see it and it would verify it accordingly to the genesis block.

That is the reason on why it requires so much power whenever you mine BTCs as it computes and verifies all the block on the blockchain technology.
3139  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Blockchain casino Vs Traditional casino on: August 09, 2021, 05:03:22 PM
We have our own choices I choose Blockchain casinos since we all know that it can be trusted because we can verify it but in traditional casino sometimes it came from third party provider which we are not sure if fair or not, but I think many people still prefer the traditional casino rather than the blockchain casino.

Can you please expound on how blockchain type of casino can verify the odds in a probably fair type of setting? I am somehow confused as to the difference between a traditional casino and a blockchain casino as I think it is impossible to fully verify all the transactions listed on a blockchain casino. Even though it offers transparency, I doubt that one has the capability or patience to check it.

Regardless, I would still prefer any casino whether it is blockchain based or not. What matters is its ongoing reputation and customer service to its players.
3140  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to stay safe from scam cryptocurrency app. on: August 09, 2021, 02:27:24 PM
I remember someone posted that a cryptocurrency app wallet was infected with a virus even if it was prior approved by the playstore and/or appstore.

Regardless, before downloading any cryptocurrency app wallet, always make sure to do your research. You can also ask members here in the forum for their personal recommendation of what wallet/s to use in case you have any doubts. In addition, there are lots of dedicated forum members who report any scam apps present in the scam accusation board. You can utilize the search bar function to see if such app was reported by someone here in the forum.

Nevertheless, I appreciate your effort in compiling a guide so that newbies can see it.
