2141  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin continue to have the same effect on alts? on: April 16, 2022, 12:23:43 AM
What do y'all think? Will BTC price movement continue to have the same effect on alts price in like 10 years? 20 years maybe? Let's hear some expert opinions.

Generally, the price of altcoins sometimes depend on the price of BTC. Since most of these altcoins derive their existence from BTC as the latter is considered the first cryptocurrency, it follows that whenever its price drops, then the prices of altcoins drop.

Though this may be the case, there are certain cases where the price of some altcoins are generally unaffected while the price of BTC significantly changed. I remember that XRP and ETH's price continued to rise while the price of BTC dropped during the last quarter of 2019.

2142  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Finger print alternative way to private keys for Bitcoin Wallet recovery. on: April 15, 2022, 04:17:49 PM
So I suggest that adding a layer two security in the BTC wallet by integrating biometric finger print as alternative way to gaining access to every Bitcoin wallet is an Ideal one .
This will save people the stress or risk involved when trying to secure their keys ,because some people spend money to protect and secure their funds for instance....

I think there are certain wallets/exchanges that integrated biometric finger print/face ID scanner before you can access your funds. In addition, there is also this personal password that must be inputted in order to send your BTCs to another wallet, so I guess this kind of idea has been introduced already.

Quote
By using various types cold storage wallet like, Trezor, ledger Nano wallet or other types of vault storage wallets which cost them some amount of money to purchase.

I personally think that paying the extra money is better long-term in order to maximize security of your BTCs in your hardware wallets. The cost of purchasing these wallets is so much better than losing all of your funds secured in a given exchange, as the latter is prone to scams in the internet.
2143  Economy / Gambling / Re: Watching Our Kids From Something That Could Dangerous To Them on: April 15, 2022, 01:02:00 PM
...

What do you think about the situation above? Do you have any such situations like me before?
I currently have 2 kids, and my biggest concern is that both of my children saw pornography and engaged in gambling when they were minors...

controlling your child's smartphone today is the duty of parents, children can't yet distinguish between good and bad so they think it's something their parents don't forbid as long as their parents know it, even though it's a bad thing, it can be tolerated. The child's future will be ruined when he finds out about gambling and pornography when they are minors.
I agree - there is a dire need to balance between the phone and life balance. But kids are adamant that they all need a smart phone.
My nephew who is 2 cries like crazy if someone takes the phone from his hand. But than again its important and kids should be kept away from the phone. It's a need of the time.

With the emergence of technology, it is but natural for kids to engage and use smartphones as their main source of entertainment. The problem with giving them such freedom and power is that they can be exposed to pornography and other negative elements that can effect their character development as a whole.

Like you guys mentioned, the key here is to balance the use of smartphones. You have to let your kids understand the dangers of visiting such websites as it will be inevitable for them to visit those sites. Though this can be remedied by intentionally blocking pornsites using a secured ISP or third-party service, this only offers a band-aid solution to the problem.

The best solution, personally, would be to properly educate your children. You just have to accept that there will come a time that they would visit those websites. But what happens after they visit such website would be your duty. If they inherently know that such is bad/destructive, then on their own volition, they would avoid visiting it again.
2144  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A blind investor's confession on: April 15, 2022, 11:27:12 AM
Most of my money are gone through fake meme coins and now after a few search online I came to know that meme coins aren't even important at all, dogecoin just receive a favour from Elon musk is all, please I need help.

I think you got all the help that you need- given that you realized the mistake from your previous investments, this knowledge and experience you gained would help you on your next investments. Unfortunately, almost all meme coins may soon follow with an exit scam- that is why it is highly recommended that you invest on the top 10 altcoins in the market.

Do no worry, however, as almost all investors have experienced your situation. The key here is to absorb the knowledge you gained from your failures and transform it into a successful investment in the future.
2145  Economy / Economics / Re: Elon Musk makes offer to buy Twitter on: April 15, 2022, 10:57:53 AM
We all know how deceitful Elon Musk can be, all he cares about is doge coin, not bitcoin, even doge coin rose when he bought shares on Twitter, he is only looking for ways to make doge popular and this can be effective if he owns Twitter. I believe he will fail because Twitter is never like Facebook and will never be like Facebook. His aim will only be towards making doge the dominant coin Twitter will be accepting just as he did with Tesla after his bitcoin criticism which he was wrong about but just wanted to fool people.

I think I read somewhere that Elon Musk mentioned that Twitter should be a "private company." Though I have no idea about his goals in general, it is heavily implied that everything he does is with regard to increasing the price of doge in the future.

As a madman that he is, Elon Musk would definitely do anything in order to profit in the end.

I think Elon should not be buying Twitter. Honestly it is not his business line. Yes I understand that he is billionaire and he could do any dam thing he wants to do. It’s not big deal for him to buy twitter considering twitter is valued at $36 bln while Elon holds 10% shares meaning he gets that much discount instantly.

However, it would really put Twitter share market value at risk. His mind only works best in tech stuff, and in crypto space he would definitely look after DOGE. But assuming the history, lot of people have lost money due to Elons act of doge tweets! Rest we know how everyone will react.

I am assuming that he will definitely purchase Twitter and let his team handle all the complexities and technicalities of the business. At the end, he would sell his remaining shares and just profit at the end which may yield him hundreds of millions of dollars in the future.
2146  Economy / Gambling / Re: Video Course of BlackJack for people who want to learn BlackJack on: April 14, 2022, 04:04:55 PM
Do you often watch videos like this to improve your skills in playing BlackJack or other card games? Or do you feel so confident in your abilities that you don't need such video courses?

As someone who often plays blackjack for fun and for gambling, I do think that reading and watching videos may help someone learn the basics and the foundation of the game. In addition, this may also help them better understand the dynamics and learn new techniques in order to at least mitigate the risks of betting. However, I also do think that such is unnecessary especially if you are a person who wants to gamble quickly without wasting any time.

These courses are definitely great and they help people understand better the basics of the game. If you have the extra time to watch the videos and learn the courses, then feel free to do so. But if you are someone who just wants to gamble out of sheer curiosity, luck, and/or entertainment, then it's better to skip it.
2147  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: High Rollers on: April 14, 2022, 03:31:07 PM
Quite surprised to see consecutive high roller of above 20BTC on a single wager. Have any of you come across such big wagers in real-time. Came across this while spending time watching the high rollers on the bets tab. Have anyone came across such big bets, and I don't whether this player have managed to make a win or not. Shocked

Man, that is just crazy to witness that there are people who see 20 BTCs as something like candy- they can just bet them without breaking a sweat. I guess that these kind of gamblers are the ones who have nothing to lose- where they see gambling purely as a form of entertainment. Since they can bet large amounts of BTCs, I am assuming that these people are definitely rich; or they just want to feel the adrenaline kicking in.

Regardless, this kind of betting should be avoided especially if you are not included in the top 0.1% ultra-rich people in the world where they can purchase at least anything. As far as I know, 20 BTCs is around $800,000 which can actually purchase you almost all things in life.
2148  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: buy my home with bitcoin on: April 14, 2022, 03:14:34 PM
i want to sell my property for bitcoin..
is there anyone here who buys property with bitcoin??

Your request seems a bit off- you should have phrased it like "Will it be possible to purchase a property using cryptocurrencies.." since it allows for a more comprehensive discussion, unlike your thread which somehow restricts it especially that you failed to indicate all the details.

Anyway, it is possible to purchase property using BTCs but it depends on the buyer if they prefer this kind of method. In order to avoid any legal impediments or conflicts, I suggest selling your property to fiat instead; then use the proceeds to purchase BTCs in your local/respective exchange for easier access and convenience.
2149  Economy / Economics / Re: Is there a place in the world you could live like a king via sig campaigns? on: April 14, 2022, 02:45:14 PM
Since in essence, the value of currency is relative per country, you could say that participating into campaign signatures are privileges that our citizens seek. Having that convenience of working online and at the same time earning/investing is a blessing to everyone in our country.

Quote
I bet it is, given what you've said about the average income, which pales in comparison to what you could make in a decent sig campaign.  So assuming the climate and cost of living boxes are checked off as far as the Philippines goes, is there a possibility of buying or renting a very large house that's free of insects, has stable electricity and internet, and isn't going to be a target for local gangs (I don't know if there are any, but I'd assume a bunch of foreigners in a castle would be eyed with suspicion if not outright hostility.  That could be said of many countries.)?

Oh it is definitely possible! To give you a concrete example, my cousin rents a two-storey house in which he pays around $300/month. The place is semi-furnished and the house is located on a relatively safe village where security guards patrol the said area.

In addition to the said house, my college friend rented a condominium unit (kindly refer to the image below) in which he also paid roughy $280-$320/month inclusive of association dues in which the said unit is secured by dozens of security guards everywhere. It also has a pool, public amenities, etc.

Quote
Also: do houses in the Philippines typically have basements--or do basements exist there at all?  There are parts of the US where basements can't be built, so I know they don't exist everywhere.

As far as I know, houses that have basements are usually owned by people who are living above the median household. Of all the houses that I have visited, I have yet to see a house with a basement.
2150  Economy / Gambling / Re: Another New Rule On Gambling Adverts Ban Celebrities and Sports Stars on: April 14, 2022, 11:43:38 AM
For ads purposes, yes, that's a helpful update. If casinos prohibits the registration of users age of 18 and  below then casino ads should follow the same pattern too. Coz ads plays a role to encourage someone to do this and that as shown on an ad, people's ages in ads plays a role too, as it targets its type of users' ages etc.

This is somehow difficult to draw the line on determining if the player is indeed 18 years old in registering in the gambling website.

Since players look for convenience, adding a KYC function to a gambling site could either make or break the whole business. But, if they do not implement any KYC function, this would attract underaged players in gambling which is something that must be prevented at all cost.

Prohibiting and banning celebrities can definitely help as any method of mitigating the damage can be helpful. I just hope that it would at least decrease the overall numbers of underaged gamblers around the globe.
2151  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: NO RISK, NO REWARD on: April 13, 2022, 11:55:54 PM
From then, whenever I hear about Cryptocurrency, I always say it's a scam and I was really angry with my friend.

Unfortunately, I also have lots of friends who branded cryptocurrencies as "scam" projects. The problem with the latter is that they invested on the time where the price boomed during the last quarter of 2017. They invested when the price was at its ATH; then the price dropped during the first quarter of 2018 in which these people pulled out their investments. Though some profited, mostly all lost their investments which lead to this conclusion and branding.

Quote
But this time I'm learning it myself and know how it works.

Experience is the best teacher. No matter how hard we try reading books about a certain topic, the only way to fully immerse and adapt is to personally experience it. While your situation may be unfortunate, this will build the foundation of your character which would help you in your investments in the future.
2152  Economy / Economics / Re: Passive income : Bank interest vs staking on: April 13, 2022, 11:48:46 PM
Staking involves MUCH MORE risk! These are really two entirely different things.

I guess you are right, however there are also disadvantages in bank savings, I do use banks in everyday life because online payments for our business gets through them. I do also stake in Defi Binance with 90 days maturity. It is in the person where he wants to put his money, and I prefer both of them. Investing in different fields is a good decision where in if the other fails, you still another to support and back you up.

This actually depends upon the person on which platform they are comfortable.

Preferably, bank investments have returns that are significantly low. Though this may be the case, you are assured that your money is earning inside a financial institution which is considered absolutely safe. You have that feeling of security where your funds are stored and earning at the same time but the downside is that the returns are much slower. This method is recommended for people who have a relatively large capital stored in banks and they do not need such for the meantime.

Staking, on the other hand, involves a similar scenario but it earns on large interest. While this also embraces the concept of investing, it is riskier in my opinion. Though both can yield good results, I still prefer bank investments due to its security to its users.
2153  Economy / Gambling / Re: Watching Our Kids From Something That Could Dangerous To Them on: April 13, 2022, 11:37:25 PM
The role of parents who give freedom to their children in using cellphones does not seem to be felt by those who are starting to grow up. I see that a teenager has started to be equipped with a smartphone.

What do you think about the situation above? Do you have any such situations like me before?

Actually OP, I somehow felt the feeling of having the freedom to operate under the glimpse of the internet.

I grew up in a computer shop in our town. As a young kid, I was severely exposed to pornography and games since most of the customers who opt to rent our computers watch those kinds of stuff. As a young kid who is at the peak of his curiosity, this ultimately led me to check on those stuff. Eventually, I would go and watch alone (I was really young) whenever no one is looking.

Though this may have been the case, I think I can still determine what is right and wrong. Being exposed to that kind of addiction may lead to certain addictions but it still depends on the total upbringing of one's parents. I am fortunate enough to have a single dad who taught me all the valuable life lessons that I need in order to be equipped with those skills to avoid any troubles.
2154  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why no simple service for HODLing Bitcoin? on: April 13, 2022, 07:26:34 AM
Hi exhodlers,

I know many of you wish not selling early your BTC. This is very common story, I wish I hadn’t sell my bitcoins for cheap X years ago. Now it would be worth Y millions of dollars. I have idea for new coin/token:

We create smart contract for HODLing bitcoin for 5 years (that’s rough number, could be anything). For users who send their BTC to the smart contract, some new token or coin would be given. Tokens have their tokenomics, the whole thing is DAO with voting, stakings, farmings etc. For HODLers NFTs can be generated to create community thing.

Anyone interested in participating the project? Call it HodlCoin

While I appreciate a token created for this purpose, I think you are creating something that makes HODLing more complicated. If a person wants to HODL, then just let them HODL their bitcoins in their respective wallets. I do not see the need for any complicated matters. If they have the urge to sell their coins, then let them do so.

Remember that BTCs are still considered as money due to their significant value in the market. Assuming that a person encounters an emergency situation where they would need some cash, then let them use their BTCs. No need for any complicated tokens or whatsoever.
2155  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you spread BTC to people within you on: April 12, 2022, 11:56:42 PM
Hello all,
As a lover of Bitcoin how do you spread Bitcoin, i mean how do you tell people about Bitcoin and it's adoptions?

Just like any investment mechanism available, I mainly tell them my personal experiences in the cryptocurrency world. I also show them some proof of my earnings as this would rather convince them to at least try investing, trading, and/or participating into campaign signatures in this forum. After I get their attention, that is only the time where I attempt to explain them the fundamentals of cryptocurrencies and on how it went to exist.

The problem with explaining is that the technology may sound complex and confusing due to its very nature. That is why, the challenge is to explain it in a way that everyone (or even a 5-year old) would understand and appreciate its technology and practical use.
2156  Economy / Gambling / Re: Online casino. What's the reliability of the technology? on: April 12, 2022, 11:49:59 PM
To what extent is the online  slot game machine RTP reliable based on it's technology?

As words in the street has it that it has gained so much popularity than other casino games due to it's simplicity nature.

Let's discuss, what's your view.

Online slot game machine's RTP will not be disclosed by the online gambling company as this would definitely backfire immediately. If players know the odds of a certain slot machine in a gambling website, chances are that they would avoid playing on such; ultimately costing the business of the owner of such gambling website.

In terms of reliability, however, there is also no definitive proof to measure it. You would basically rely on the experiences and feedback of players from playing on such slot game machine. You may also consult the customer support service but I doubt that they would disclose any information that is prejudicial to them.

In addition, I still have not received a response from the customer, so I am announcing a week-long pause, which means that you can all remove the sig.

But at the same time, I tried to be as flexible as possible and paid each of you a bonus of 2 mBTC. If the campaign does not continue anymore, this will be a nice bonus for you, and if the campaign is restarted again in a week, I will take these 2 mBTC into account for future posts.

Thank you very much for this opportunity, icopress!

Just a quick question, in the event that the campaign does continue next week, does it mean that the current members of the campaign would be automatic reinstated; or are you going to start accepting applications for new members?

In terms of convenience, I would choose gcash any day versus paymaya and coins.ph. Ang kulang na lang talaga ng cash is yung pag-adopt nila ng cryptocurrency wallet at ma-integrate ito sa system nila. Kapag nagawa nila yun (which is expected to happen this year), mukhang mababawasan ang current users ni coins.ph kaya siguro naisip ng lumang CEO na ibenta na ito to prevent competition and habang mataas pa yung stake dito.

Though ganito siguro yung magiging competition, at least na-acquire ng coins.ph ng isang ex-CFO ng Binance which has the potential of making it globally competitive and hindi lang versus gcash and paymaya.
2160  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Time to leave btc on: April 10, 2022, 10:41:41 PM
No movement of btc so its time to leave and come back after 2 years.
Its just not moving where is the daily 20-30% price swings? Of alt coins also? ,barerly 5% price moves in few days for that long you cant earn nothing with futures.
I leave btc im disapointed it just dont move i need btc to move no short no long just standing all market thats not why we here for.
Lets see in few years if btc is fixed and it moves again now nothing to do here for this year maybe one month there is movement but thats not enough we need to earn money everyday but if btc dont move then nothing to do.

So i come back after few years then lets see if they have fixed btc.

There is nothing to fix in BTC- it is just that its nature is highly volatile and decentralized which makes it price very unpredictable. Like any other investment mechanism available in the market, there is no absolute guarantee of funds. If the latter exists, then everyone would become millionaires by now; that is why you have to suffer and accept the consequences of investing.

Personally, I would recommend HODLing due to its nature being inflationary which can give you the potential of earning +% gains in the future.
