661  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: That is why play to earn concept is a massive failure on: February 10, 2022, 07:28:55 PM
Quote
The play-to-earn model on its own is unsustainable. By its very nature, it creates an unsustainable pyramid scheme-like system where new players buy in only to create and sell digital goods to those who buy in after them. Above and beyond that, it creates a culture of virtual indentured servitude where individuals are dragged forward by the threat of a lost investment to play a video game at the cost of their own mental and physical health.

All the games build upon this same structure and there is nothing new other than skin color and weapon design. High entry fees in the game and high challenge for new users is demotivating new users to join the system. Only early adopters are earning massively because of those unique teams they got. Unique users registration is decreasing day by day which shows the hype is going down with flame.

Well, it's no secret that the play-to-earn business model only works because money is constantly being put into the tokens, and the tokens gain value as a result. That's way, it is still possible to hide the fact that the business model is failed and that it will have to collapse sooner or later.
662  Economy / Economics / Re: How will Bitcoin behave in the approaching crisis? on: February 10, 2022, 07:26:31 PM
I read today that Russia wants to refrain from banning Bitcoin, instead the country wants to regulate Bitcoin. It is probably because of possible sanctions and the repeated threat to exclude Russia from the SWIFT payment system in case of war. With Bitcoin, Russia could circumvent some of the sanctions.
663  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: February 09, 2022, 07:15:35 PM
Manchester United are still struggling too much and they lost points against Burnley too as a result. They are really desperate about winning some games comfortably. Ronaldo is still trying his best but he can't carry the team only by himself in the end. The team have many skilled players and they should be able to benefit from those players in the best way possible. And they should start from a point to put an end to this very poor look of the team. Otherwise, they should forget about the CL next season.

The season is already over for Manchester United. They are far behind in the league and have recently been eliminated in the FA Cup. I don't think ManU will get far in the CL either. The minimum goal this season is to qualify for the Champions League and with the current position they have achieved that, so the focus will be on securing fourth place.
664  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do we get money women to be involved in Crypto on: February 09, 2022, 07:12:10 PM
Just recently, I saw a project trying to get more women to be involved in cryptocurrency by organizing a pageantry, and then asked for application.
My question is, is this really the best way to involve women in cryptocurrency? Is there no better way to get them involved? Because, frankly speaking, cryptocurrency is more of a masculine affair than a feminine thing. So how do we balance this imbalance in the Crypto space?

I wonder why you necessarily need to bring more women into cryptocurrencies? There is no gender barrier. Anyone can participate if they want to. Cryptocurrencies may be too technical for many and that may be why few women are into the field. There is a reason why women are in the minority in courses like computer science or mechanical engineering and clearly in the majority in courses like social science or business administration.
665  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dogecoin - a joke or a way to make money? on: February 08, 2022, 05:12:10 PM
It's not a joke coin anymore. The community of Doge is growing year by year. Because of the huge supporting community, I believe we can trust Dogecoin and can earn money from this coin also. I can say due to Elon's support Doge has got a good identity in the market.

I agree with you, but as long as there is someone as influential as Elon Musk, who keeps indirectly promoting Doge and bringing it into people's focus, as long as Doge will be one of the top projects. The only question is when Elon will lose interest in Doge. Then, at the latest, I would sell all my Doge, if I had any.
666  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: February 08, 2022, 05:09:52 PM
Bayern Munich loss opportunity with Niklas Süle become free transfer player after not get agreement both site between Niklas Süle agent and Bayern Munich, I think Niklas Süle have potential for the future with Dortmund but I think he less chance to get challenge on Primer League competition, Chelsea have interested with him but Süle more prefer choose Bundesliga as his competition than Primer League. Just waiting few months later Süle will be new player for Dortmund and there are have Mats Hummel as senior player will be great tandem for Süle.

Süle has long toyed with the idea that he wants to leave Bayern, although he was a regular player and was prefered by Bayern's coach Nagelsmann there, because, by his own admission, he felt unappreciated. For Bayern, this is certainly a loss in sporting and financial terms, and for Dortmund it is a coupe. Everyone has counted on a move abroad, especially to the Premier League, since there were several interested top clubs from there according to his advisor and he would also have fit from the physical good to England.

It looks like Decent logged in today and have deleted the original post - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1162392.0

Scam officially confirmed  Cheesy

Well, it could also be an account hack and the opening post was not deleted by the actual owner. It doesn't really make sense to just remove the opening post if it's a scam, then it's enough for the owner to simply disappear, also because the post and full thread is still and will be still available at archive.org and Google Cache.
668  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hoddle or day trading on: February 07, 2022, 07:25:14 PM
There is a saying. The more you trade the more you lose.
Even though this saying does not apply in general, it does apply to many rather inexperienced traders. Day trading only makes sense if you know what you are doing. But only the fewest know that. Therefore, for non-professionals the long-term hodling of assets/coins is better than trading.
669  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What high gas fee have cost me on: February 07, 2022, 06:52:33 PM
I think this is a difficult problem to solve, when ethereum was skyrocketing and huge popularity they made a strange thing, i.e. very expensive transaction fees, to send ERC-20 tokens it cost around $40 and it took about 10 minutes to reach 12 confirmations and this is very bad thing for blockchain technology which is supposed to be cheap and fast.

Why did they make a strange thing? I hope you don't mean that Ethereum itself can set the fees. If you do, then I advise you to read up on the subject, because fees are dependent on the number of transactions. The fees are made indirectly by the miners.
670  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: February 07, 2022, 06:47:15 PM
Today it was announced that Bayern Munich defender Niklas Süle will move to Dortmund on a free transfer in the summer. This is an interesting change, as Süle has played regularly at Bayern and is a set player at the club as well as in the national team, but according to his own statement did not feel valued by the club. So now he moves to Dortmund, although many international clubs and also top Premier League clubs were interested in him.
671  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Making valentine's day memorable with bitcoins. on: February 06, 2022, 12:34:10 PM
February 14th is very much celebrated worldwide as valentine's day, a day to show love, not just to our loved ones but to everyone. I'm thinking of doing something memorable for my loved ones and maybe any other person, something bitcoin related. Suggestions please, how can I and us all make valentine's day a memorable day with bitcoins?

Just write a text message about you as a couple on the Bitcoin blockchain. The message will exist as long as Bitcoin exists and is indelible. Did this not too long ago, by the way, when a relative was born. Her birth will always be anchored in the blockchain and when she comes of age I will show her the transaction id :-P
672  Local / Altcoins (Deutsch) / Re: [Diskussion] - [IOTA] - Burn or Build ? on: February 06, 2022, 12:24:27 PM
Burn or Build ?

673  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What use case is crypto lacking today? on: February 06, 2022, 12:20:17 PM
Let's discuss about new use case that's still not on the blockchain/crypto yet, if you are a developer wannabe what use case do you think we still don't have yet or already in crypto space that can make waves in the future?

We always talk about use cases which new crypto projects should develop. Maybe we should first use the use case for which crypto was actually developed: Payment! The very few people here use crypto as a means of payment but only for speculation, which is understandable given the price development, but which completely misses the point of crypto. Just the fact that after almost 13 years of existence here in this forum there is still no integrated way to pay other users Bitcoin, shows the whole dilemma.

675  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What high gas fee have cost me on: February 06, 2022, 11:33:14 AM
.. there are actually few others so I started looking for tokens running on BSC chain only..imagine.

Have you bothered to think why the fees are significantly lower on the BSC chain? Apparently not, otherwise you would realize that the low fees come with a high risk. The BSC chain is centralized and completely controlled by Binance. As long as Binance is doing well everything is okay, but you are making yourself completely dependent on a company that is being eyed by many authorities worldwide.
676  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Solana full of hype? on: February 06, 2022, 11:20:07 AM
Right now, SOL is valued at $90 (USD) from an All-time-high of more than $200 per coin. It's the seventh-largest cryptocurrency by market cap, sitting behind Ethereum, Cardano, BNB, and the others. If developers don't prioritize decentralization, then Solana may become another EOS or TRON. These last two are forgotten by the community due to their heavily-centralized design. May this be a lesson to noobs that crypto is all about decentralization and censorship-resistance (not convenience/ease-of-use). Who knows what will be of the hyped Solana project within a couple of years from now? Just my opinion Smiley

I bet that when the NFT hype is over, Solana will also gradually become less and less important (NFT will stay, but sooner or later the topic will be overtaken by another hype, like many hypes before). Currently I can't find any information on how Solana will reduce its strong centrality without losing its speed advantages. I would be very surprised if Solana is still in the top 10 crypto projects in two three years.

If Solana develops the technology on a metaverse scale, I think it will survive in the next two or three years as we know Solana is a blockchain platform that has a growing ecosystem and will become an ETH killer, it just takes time Solana will take over the hype market

Your account was registered at the end of August 2017, so I assume that you were not aware of the situation around EOS, Tron and NEO at that time. The reasoning you put forth sounds exactly like that. At that time, the three projects were predicted to do exactly the same thing, admittedly there was no Metaverse at that time, but ICO and Defi, and all of them were predicted to have better chance to race for the two megathemes than Ethereum. Today we know, Ethereum won the race and the three mentioned projects are no longer relevant at all.
677  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- Group Stage! on: February 06, 2022, 10:59:01 AM
Though Inter Milan is doing well in the Italian league title race and are occupying their first slot in the table but though they are not comfortable there because they are just 1 point above their serious contenders.

Inter has only one point advantage, but also one game less than second-placed AC Milan. Before the weekend, Inter had even a bigger lead, before they narrowly lost the derby 1-2 in a good match against AC Milan. You can't compare teams based on their rankings in their respective leagues because the leagues are not well comparable with each other. If that's what it's all about, then the English champion should have clearly won the Champions League for years.

679  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ English FA CUP Season: 2021/2022 on: February 05, 2022, 08:48:33 AM
Clearly the ManUtd dont see the light in the tunnel. They are going down without brakes. Unbelive how Ronaldo and his fire cant wake up this guys and team.

I think that the game should give hope to ManUnited fans. ManUnited played well and was unlucky in some situations. Ronaldo's penalty should have been converted. Just like two good chances by Bruno Fernandes in the last 20 minutes of the game. If he would have converted a chance, Middlesborough would have been unable to counter anything, as they only worked defensively. Penalty shootout is then a 50/50 chance, especially because ManU did not have their regular goalkeeper in the game.

For the todays game between Hertha Berlin and Bochum i dont know how to place my bet , normaly i would say Bochum!
But this kind of matches its possible that Berlin win at home but i will guess i will go with Bochum.
Difficult one to predict eh, I would have to agree with you on that one, the two teams look evenly matched this season, especially when you look at the league table, Bochum are in 11th position with 24 points, and they are just above Herta Berlin who are 13th with 22 points, so it's an opportunity for Hertha to win and top Bochum, but it's not really going to be all that easy, this sort of games more often than not ends in a draw, and I think I'll be predicting a 1-1 draw in this match.

Indeed the game is difficult to predict. From the standings and the trend, Bochum is the favorite, although the team has never really convinced in its victories recently, but has often won rather happily by one goal. There is a lot at stake for Hertha Berlin, which is why they actually have to win the game. So it will certainly be very exciting, and I rather expect a draw or a narrow victory for Berlin.

Arghh, I would have bet on the expected draw or even on double chance Berlin as I originally wanted. But I was not quite sure because the performance of Berlin is currently difficult to classify. Berlin was overall the better team and would have won if the keeper had not made a big mistake that led to the goal for Bochum.
