1661  Economy / Economics / Re: Google Finance adds Crypto tab on: March 02, 2021, 07:09:06 PM
Who else remembers the time time when they banned word bitcoin from youtube?

The Gandhi quote always comes to mind when it comes to developments like this.

"First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win."

First they ignored Bitcoin/crypto completely. Then they laughed at Bitcoin and all investors as nerds and idiots. Then they started fighting Bitcoin (including the ban of Bitcoin on Youtube). And now they surrender. Bitcoin/crypto won.
1662  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New to Crypto looking to start on: March 01, 2021, 07:22:11 PM
Joined today and looking for tutors, info and insight for earning crypto. I have a goal of earning a total of $5340 which will go towards a vehicle I really want.

First of all, welcome to the forum!

If you were an experienced user, then that would be a goal you could achieve in the crypto space in a not too long time. But since you're starting from scratch here, it's very difficult. For newbies like you, it is only to be hoped that there will be a crypto crash soon, that you will stick with it over time, collect enough crypto cheap and then take advantage of the next bull run. As it was in 2014-2016 and 2018-2020.

1663  Economy / Economics / Re: after gamestop's short squeeze, reddit turns to doge. 600%+ today on: March 01, 2021, 07:13:56 PM
DOGE is down by 30% since a week ago. The price is $0.05 currently, still high, compared to $0.0035 two months ago, but it looks like this is it. There are too many DOGE around, 128+ billion coins, for reddit community to pump it big again. Those are my thoughts, but, of course, who can know for sure? There's a nice meme in r/dogecoin regarding this

In the mid and long term, Doge will return to the low levels it was before the pump. Quite simply because there is nothing fundamentally in favor of this coin. It's a fun project, as it was planned and as it always will be. And a meme and play object for people like Elon Musk who briefly push the coin out of self-satisfaction. There's a reason Tesla invested $ 1.2 billion in Bitcoin instead of Doge.
1664  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Finally, privacy coins are moving on: March 01, 2021, 07:10:04 PM

the more people start to use crypto as currency the more people will be interested for their privacy of transactions
privacy coins are the future!!!

You may be right, but the more people are using privacy coins, the more they come into the focus of politics. And from there is a short way to go before politicians label the use of privacy coins as a crime. Anyone who then uses privacy coins is a potential criminal. In some western countries this may still be okay because the consequences are tolerable, but in many others you will have to reckon with disadvantages and prosecutions.
1665  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Brave Browser: Now users can earn Basic Attention Token (BAT) for viewing ads on: March 01, 2021, 07:02:30 PM
The Ecosia search engine is now available on Brave browser.  Ecosia search engine plants trees with their ad revenue which comes from searches.

I have not heard of this before but am going to start using it more it sounds like a good cause.

More information on their blog- https://blog.ecosia.org/brave/

I temporarily used Ecosia when it came up over a decade ago (guess it was around 2010/2011). It's an alternative which uses a customized Bing search (formerly Google search) and integrating ads. A big part of the ads income are used to plant trees around the world. It is nothing special, just another search engine that serves a special purpose. You get the same results as you would get using Bing. You have always been able to add it via addon to your browser.
1666  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling as a profession: there's people who live out of gambling? on: March 01, 2021, 06:58:28 PM
but what are your opinions on the matter of sports betting?
any skill involved?
to me feels like it's simpy pure luck, but I'm not the biggest sports connoisseur

No, luck is a part of the game. But you can minimize luck especially when it come to sports betting. There is a reason why people (even they are less) living from sports betting. They have a good knowledge and access to (mostly paid) statistics which help them to have an advance.
1667  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League Discussion Thread on: February 28, 2021, 12:30:53 PM
It is incredible that Leicester got eliminated to Slavia prag, ...

Same to Leverkusen, that got elimiated by Young Boys Bern. For me, Molde and Young Boys Bern have been the big surprises in the Euro League this season. If nothing extraordinary happens, then Arsenal, Tottenham, Manchester or AC Milan should take the title. Maybe Ajax Amsterdam could cause a surprise too.
1668  Local / Altcoins (Deutsch) / Re: Deutsche NEM Community on: February 28, 2021, 12:25:04 PM

1669  Economy / Economics / Re: Mastercard Bitcoin Global Adoption? on: February 28, 2021, 12:06:21 PM
Mastercard called bitcoin unsuitable for payments due to its volatility and its transaction takes too much time said executive vice chair Mastercard Ann Cairns in an interview with MarketWatch https://www.marketwatch.com/story/mastercard-executive-bitcoin-is-too-volatile-to-be-part-of-its-network-11614245946

Exactly what I wrote a few pages before. Mastercard won't be able to use Bitcoin as a payment/value transfer method, even if they wanted to. You only have to look at the current transaction fees to understand why this cannot work. Mastercard will rely on a semi-decentralized cryptocurrency that is scalable. Which that is remains to be seen.

Although Manchester United has been the better side in the last six premier League games, with three wins and three draws, todays encounter will be different.
It's not about the past six games,Chelsea are terrible! How terrible, Lampard lost his job and they are rebuilding the team once again and fortunately Manchester went through that stage and will come out the better team today. 1-0 win for ManU!

The team does not have to be rebuilt a lot, it is already strong enough. Lampard just wasn't able to transform the good individual players into a functioning collective with good tactics. Tuchel does this much better. Chelsea will strengthen and change in one position or the other, but by and large the squad will stay that way in the new season.
1671  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: February 26, 2021, 05:56:55 PM
...
By the way Hoffenheim lost yesterday there game in the Euro League against Molde and they are out of it now.

not only hoffenheim was eliminated yesterday - also bayer leverkusen can now completely concentrate on the bundesliga (lost yesterday 0-2 against yb bern) to maybe get back on track

It was no surprise that both teams were eliminated, after their horrible first legs and their current Bundesliga performance. Hoffenheim is only below average in the league. And Leverkusen was Bayern hunter no1 in the first half of the season and then got a total crack. Leverkusen surprisingly eliminated from the German Cup and now from the Euro League. And in the league they are currently not even qualified for international competition.
1672  Economy / Economics / Re: Loans are cheap good time to use loans for Investment in btc on: February 26, 2021, 04:20:36 PM
Take loans only if you have any backup income source to compensate the due amount in case of investment failure, never think that you can make constantly 3% from day trading everyday, if you can do it and keep reinvesting all the capital amount then mathematically you can become more richer than jeffbezos in coupe of years.

For ordinary people, day trading is a losing business anyway. You can have a good run in the short term, but in the medium and long term you simply lose because you never have the opportunity to compete against the high-performance computers of the big investment banks.
1673  Economy / Economics / Re: Still confused why bitcoin is so bullish? on: February 25, 2021, 11:37:47 AM
I think it is worth paying attention to the fact how many large companies have invested their excess funds in Bitcoin, not to mention institutional capital, because it is the attraction of large capital that allows the Bitcoin exchange rate to rise, and at the same time increase its demand in the cryptocurrency market.
Not sure whether we can call these huge investment excess funds from a company. They are meant to reap profit and if they think the bitcoin market will give them the desired profit they will hedge their investment in it even though it is a volatile market they feel it is much safer than traditional financial investment after a pandemic.

Ah, and how are they going to hedge Bitcoin investments? As far as I know, there are still no corresponding derivatives and options to do this with crypto yet. Therefore, they have to use non-crypto assets for hedging, which could then lead to problems with regulation.

-snip-

First of all, nice post Wink

There is seldom a good time in betting. From my point of view, the worst time is at the beginning of the season. You don't really know how the teams are performing and how well their pre-season preparation was. That's why I bet significantly less at the beginning of the season. And then I would always give up on trends. The trend is your friend, that also applies to betting;) In addition, you should always pay attention to good opportunities, especially when it comes to double chances above odds of 2.0.
1676  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread on: February 25, 2021, 11:15:42 AM
Seems my idea worked out Smiley Chelsea won 1-0 and they should have even win with at least two goals ahead since Chelsea was clearly the better team with some missed chances.

That really surprised me winning with 1-0 against Atletico. Great job with getting advantage over if first leg but yeah its not job done yet Wink .

The team is much more stable in the defence and the offensive is more effective. That doesn't mean that they will move on to the next round. The second leg will not be easy. But they scored an away goal so they can play for a draw now. All cards are with Chelsea.

Still with the depth like Chelsea has right now they should be scoring more goals...

I agree with you. The only thing you have to criticize about the current development of Chelsea are the few goals they score. They have many good opportunities that they often miss. If they become even more effective, Chelsea could at least make it to the semi-finals of the CL. It's also up to Werner, who hasn't really made it into the team yet and has more of a support role in the offensive, on the contrary to his time in Leipzig. I am curious whether he can make his potential available to the team in the upcoming matches.

1679  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread on: February 24, 2021, 11:31:38 AM
Lots of interesting matches coming up! I count on Atletico to win against Chelsea... Bookmakers do not pick a clear winner and the odds for both teams to win are quite high! In my opinion Atletico looks stronger!

I would bet the opposite. Chelsea have had a very good run after changing the coach and they have improved from game to game so far. The odds speak against Chelsea and that's exactly what's interesting about placing a small bet on a Chelsea win.

Chelsea are much better with Tuchel but this is a quite hard away game for them against a beast like Atletico. But it could be a good chance for Chelsea that the match will be in a neutral location. If Chelsea somehow manage to get a nice result there, they can have a big advantage in Stamford Bridge. I think both games of the draw will be very delightful.

Seems my idea worked out Smiley Chelsea won 1-0 and they should have even win with at least two goals ahead since Chelsea was clearly the better team with some missed chances. Tuchel's work bears fruit very early on. The team is much more stable in the defence and the offensive is more effective. That doesn't mean that they will move on to the next round. The second leg will not be easy. But they scored an away goal so they can play for a draw now. All cards are with Chelsea.

Ethereum $2000 on CMC. Where is Piston Honda when you need him to make a comment to make us all laugh  Grin

At the moment it is also very quiet around him in other threads in which he regularly trolls, including Waves and NEM. On the one hand it is nice to see that even the biggest small minds give up at some point, but I assume that he will quickly come out of his hole again on the next price correction Cheesy So entertainment will be still provided.
