1181  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum 2.0 what to expect on: August 08, 2021, 05:31:01 PM
The interesting part of ethereum London fork for me is the burning mechanism,  the fact that there will be lesser and lesser ether as transaction occur on ethereum network  will help with inflation,  the fear of unlimited supply and demand!  The miner have held users at the jugular for some time as a result of high fee.  Transaction fee on ethereum should be predictable now and the network should be more decentralised!

I think inflation is not a problem. Firstly because it is not high and secondly because the network is growing faster than new coins are being created. If inflation were a problem, the price per Ether would have decreased rather than increased in the past. So I expect that the additional burning mechanism will rather ensure that ETHER will develop even better in price.

Does anyone know the current odds of PSG winning the CL now that Messi's on the brink of joining them?

Might be a good idea to take advantage of this market if it's still available (and bookies offer it at this time) before a deal is confirmed.
I didn't follow the evolution of odds previously but right now it is 4.4 for PSG and 4.2 for City, Chelsea @10?? and ManU @13. I don't see the other teams able to compete those 4 and PSG, although having less chance than City considering the actual odds, seems to be the best in term of players skills especially if we count Messi on!
What I find quite disturbing is Chelsea odds, I mean they won the last version, they improved their team with good players and still have weird odds!

It has always been the case over the last few years that ManCity and PSG have been the highest favorites, and they have never won. It will be the same again this year. Even if PSG gets Messi, they won't win the CL. For one simple reason: they are not a real team. In the last few years, teams that were a united team have always won. Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Chelsea.

Haaland will stay for this season but I think next season he will be moving on. Barcelona or Real Madrid might have recouped some of their finances by then and will be able to afford him and Dortmund will be cautious about dragging it out for to long because his contract will expire if they wait a couple of seasons. I expect haaland to go for around 130 million.

If he moves, it will definitely be to England. He grew up there because of his father, and the way which football is played in the Premier League suits him. Barcelona will certainly not be in a better financial position next season. The debts are far too high for that. And Real can't afford such high sums at the moment either.
1184  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 07, 2021, 07:39:00 PM
It is basically done for Lukaku back in the Premier League for 115m € cash to Inter and his salary will be 11m€.

Football is for fans they said, yes of Premier League or PSG  Roll Eyes

One should not complain. I don't think the development is good and I also think it's good that some leagues in Europe (the Bundesliga for instance) don't go this way. But on the other hand, it is the fans who make these high transfer sums possible by going to the stadium for horrendous prices, spending a lot of money on TV subscriptions and fan merchandise. If this were not the case, such transfers would not be possible, despite investors.
1185  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Passive income on: August 07, 2021, 07:35:45 PM
Now staking is the best way of passive earn. Cake and Baby are both the best staking earning sites for me. Cake still offers 100% staking rewards. It means 100 Cake will generate 8.33 Cake every months (calculated today) where Babyswap offers 120% staking (according to the present rate calculation). I am staking both coins. It's very good passive income opportunity to me in times of bearish market when most of the coins are huge in huge losses.

I hope you are aware that 100% interest is not serious at all and also not sustainable. Also, recommending such projects is not serious too. Good staking projects that get the staking profits mostly from transaction fees pay between 4-8%(annually) at the moment. Anything above 10% is more or less a Ponzi or retained tokens are distributed. But this indicates that the project can't find enough stakers. That's then the next sign that this can't go well for long and you shouldn't invest in it.

1187  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling on friendly matches on: August 06, 2021, 09:34:57 AM
Usually, when it comes to friendly matches (in this case, imagine soccer), I prefer to stay away. In friendly matches, you can't predict a lot of things: you can't fairly judge who will try their best to win the match and who will try to preserve energies for another match or for whatever the reason they have.
When it comes to goals, yeah, I agree with you, there is the high probability that there will be more goals because friendly matches mean nothing and teams shouldn't be focusing on their defense line but at the same time it means that attackers won't be intensive/forceful.
And if it's right that there are more goals in this kind of meeting do you really think bookmakers are not aware of that and don't adjust their odds to get less profits on higher number of goals? It's the job of the bookmakers to evaluate odds of a outcome to happen, they won't give extra gains just for fun.
They'll make sure the betters would be interested on betting both sides, if most bettors are betting on the other side, the odds will move as it's the job of the bookmakers to balance the betting so the site will not suffer and they'll continue to accept bets.

The odds are always adjusted according to how bets are placed. If many bettors bet on many goals, then the odds for few goals are increased and those for many goals are decreased. In principle, the betting provider only thinks about the initial odds, but as soon as the first bets are placed, the further setting of the odds happens purely on algorithms.
1188  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Collection Thread] Series and films in which Bitcoin (or Altcoins) appear on: August 06, 2021, 09:28:51 AM
Oh, I almost forget!

I also added "Shiny_Flakes: The Teenage Drug Lord", a Netflix documentary about a German teenage drug lord who set up and run one of the most thriving drug marketplaces from his children's room from 2014-2015 before he was caught. He was sentenced to 7 years in prison and released early in 2020 for good behavior.  He plays himself in the documentary.

In total, he took about $4 million or 15k bitcoin in 1.5 years. Of that, only $300k in Bitcoin has been recovered by police to date. Only one out of three wallets could be cracked.

The guy is the model for the Netflix series "How to sell drugs online (fast)".

1189  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum 2.0 what to expect on: August 06, 2021, 09:08:38 AM
What are your expectations from this and how it will affect the overall ethereum ecosystem?

Unfortunately, I'm not technically deep enough to really say whether the planned changes will really lead to a reduction in fees. What I have read suggests that the fees can really drop significantly in times when the network has normal traffic rates.
But if there is hype again (cryptokitties or NFT for instance), then fees will increase massively again. Whether as strong as before the change remains to be seen. I hope that Ethereum gets this problem under control, even if I am not particularly positive. It would definitely be a gamechanger.
1190  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What happen if US ban cryptocurrencies? on: August 06, 2021, 09:04:48 AM
Do you guys think one day USA may ban cryptocurrencies? If yes what would happen? I think it's not totally impossible and that would be a global crash on prices.

Just today I listened to a lecture on macroeconomics and the lecturer said that the USA can't ban crypto as it is the future of their state debt. Euro-dollar system is in decline, China makes Bitcoin reserve currency. It is difficult to understand if you are not good at economics, moreover, I haven’t completely understood it yet, but the thing is that the USA is unlikely to ban crypro, so calm down.

There is also no call by any serious politician in the U.S. and the Western world in general for a Bitcoin ban. Even the central banks do not do that. What they almost all call for, however, is regulation of Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. That will happen sooner or later in most countries around the world. But there won't be a ban, at least not in the free part of the world. It may already happen in China or other dictatorships, even if it is difficult to implement. But even in China, only commercial mining was recently banned, private ownership of Bitcoin is still allowed.

The Movie "Midnight in Paris" talks about bitcoin.  (The father of the bride is an investment banker and talks about the "Silicon Valley Bitcoin Investors").

What's interesting about it is that the movie came out in 2010.

TV Series.

I'm surprised you don't have Blindspot on your list.  One of the reoccurring characters (who becomes a central character later in the series) is "Rich Dot-Com" who built his fortune on bitcoin hidden in a brain wallet.

Thank you very much for the tip! I didn't know there was a movie that mentioned Bitcoin so early and addressed the topic. Is there any proof? To the game a film snippet about it on youtube?

Yep, Season 1, Episode 6 and Season 5, Episode 2 of Blindspot both reference Bitcoin directly.

Thanks, added ot the list Smiley

https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/sabitzer-rb-leipzig-contract-bayern-munich-transfer-links/1l64cq1lg7we71qu1p7prrorab

Goal.com says that Leipzig midfielder Sabitzer's contract is going to expire on June 30, 2022 and he doesn't want to extend it too. He has been linked with Bayern Munich nowadays. He is more than an average player so it is a great opportunity for him to play at the biggest club in this league.

Yes, that's what some media is speculating. The only question is whether Bayern needs such a player. They have Goretzka, Tolison and Müller in the position Sabitzer plays. Furthermore, another two players can take this position. In addition, Sabitzer is also no longer the youngest player. I think Nagelsmann certainly has interest, since he knows the player well. But we should wait and see how the first season goes for the new coach. Should he not do well, he could soon be history at Bayern and the matter Sabitzer thus be done.
1194  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 06, 2021, 08:33:47 AM
The rumours about a possible move to Chelsea for Romelu Lukaku have been increasing nowadays.

If that turns out to be true and Lukkaku really does join Chelsea, I think Timo Werner will leave the club. He's having a bad season and it seems like he can't cope with English football. In addition, he would then certainly only a supplementary player and no longer set. But such a young player must be set to be able to develop further. There is already interest from other clubs.

I would also recommend and list ycharts.com [1] which shows a ton of good Bitcoin indicators which other similar sites don't. Besides well-known indicators like average bock size, average confirmation time, average difficulty and so on, it also shows data like average transaction fee, average miner revenue per day etc. I check the site regularly to get an overview of what the Bitcoin network looks like right now and where it's headed.

1196  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it wise to invest in nft art work? on: August 04, 2021, 12:05:59 PM
NFT market is booming recently, many people are investing more and more in NFT art work.
But I think the potential of these art work might be overvalued.
Take an example, I've just participated in an NFT art work value prediction on X Predict market.
Most people estimated the final bid value will be more than 150 busdt, but actually it reminds at 77 budst.
I think it's a sign that most nft art work is overvalued.
It's so easy to make nft art work now, the value of the work itself depends on it's art value after all, nft didn't really add anything on art itself.

As always, it depends on what NFT artwork you invest in. If it's uniquely good artwork, then it may well be worth investing in today and get a good price development in the future. However, most offers are currently in my opinion bad and totally overpriced by the hype. That is why I do not see the vast majority as a good investment.
1197  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which blockchain should a novice developer choose? on: August 04, 2021, 12:03:31 PM
There is a great idea for implementation in the cryptosphere, but I am a beginner developer and I do not have enough funds to afford the creation of a token on ETH. (unjustifiably large commissions with a high price of the Ethereum itself)
Is there some kind of cross-blockchain to implement my ideas with very low fees?  Huh

Did you try Ethereum Classic instead? Fees are much cheaper as on Ethereum and the tech is the same. You can develop your ideas their and later, if you have more money, you can easily transfer it.
There are other cheap blockchain you can implement your ideas with, however, they is mostly less documentation available which make it a bigger challenger. I can recommend Waves Platform for example (documentation there is okay).
1198  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Olympics 2020/2021 : Discussion & Predictions on: August 03, 2021, 01:03:44 PM
Over the past Olympics, USA always on the lead and this is the first time for China to take an early lead though there are still chance for USA to stay on top if their remaining athletes will able to secure a gold medal.

Apart from swimming, in all the disciplines, the American athletes have won less gold medals when compared to their performance in Rio 2016. Even in track and filed, they were disappointing. The defeat in the men's 100m race just sums it up. They were expected to sweep the gymnastics events, but after Biles pulled out, it was a whitewash for them. Overall, this is turning out to be a horrible edition for the Western nations. Right now China is well ahead, and I don't expect the US to overtake them.

I don't think so either. We're already halfway through the Olympics and most of the competitions where the U.S. generally does very well are already over. So there won't be that many gold medals for the U.S. overall and China's lead is already too big. Overall, however, I am also surprised by the positive performance of Japan.

Some gaming and gambling sites can be traced on their history and some of them had an application that you can install, always check what applications are installed in your kids cellphone, give them a stern warning that they cannot use their cellphone for a limited time if they are caught using an application that deals with gambling, kids nowadays are afraid their phone confiscated so they cannot do anything but follow their parents.

Yes your right some kids mistakenly install an gambling games cause some gambling games  if you do not know that app its look like a ordinary video games .
Parents must check the computer or phone of their kids in order to be aware what they installed  so that they can give some advice or give some reliable content about the application  installed by their children.

Funnily enough, those kids don't even have to do it themselves. In some countries, "gambling" apps are already pre-installed with Windows. I don't normally use Windows, but when I bought a PC a few months ago, Windows was already installed as standard OS. When I first booted it up, I was surprised to see what apps were pre-installed. Some fell directly or indirectly into the gambling category. Maybe this is due to countries where gambling is treated rather liberally.
1200  Economy / Economics / Re: Why do most cryptocurrencies rise and fall together? on: August 03, 2021, 12:57:42 PM
Observing the cryptocurrency market, we found that although most cryptocurrencies have price differences, most of them will fluctuate with the price trend of Bitcoin. When the price of Bitcoin increases, most other cryptocurrencies will also increase, and vice versa.
Is this trend due to large accounts operating on multiple exchanges or countless retail investors carrying price differences? Or is it caused by other operations?

This is because still most cryptocurrency are dependent on the price trend of Bitcoin. You can say, similar to the US dollar, bitcoin is also a leading currency in its environment. If bitcoin falls, altcoins fall as well. If bitcoin rises, altcoins also rise. Usually there is always a small delay, but so far this rule has always applied. Maybe some altcoins can decouple from Bitcoin at some point and start an independent price development. This would be desirable for the entire crypto market.
