801  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Donatas Leonavicius Bitcoin holding philosophy 💪💪 on: December 18, 2021, 05:36:41 PM
Is the book actually only about Bitcoin or are there other possibilities or ways to financial freedom shown as well?
If not, then the question arises as to whether such a path is even feasible for people who are just starting out with crypto. In the past 10 years, it was relatively easy to make a fortune through holding. Whether that is still possible for the next 10 years is doubtful.

The biggest surprise of the matchday so far has been Leipzig's defeat to Bielefeld. I watched the game on TV today and with such a performance Leipzig certainly didn't deserve to qualify for the European competitions.

Hertha Berlin is about to start against Dortmund in a couple of minutes. Dortmund will start with Haaland and Malen up front. That has never happened before. So far, Malen has been more of a substitute for Haaland. Berlin has many absentees due to injuries and corona, so this should be an easy game for Dortmund.
803  Local / Altcoins (Deutsch) / Re: Avalanche startet große Community-Plattform on: December 17, 2021, 11:14:37 AM

Chelsea's Werner is now also out because of Corona.  Further infections in the team cannot be ruled out. It will be really interesting to see how this develops in general. Corona could be a factor that shakes up the championship once again.Liverpool and ManCity have come through the fourth wave quite well so far. Manchester United and Tottemham have been hit the hardest.
805  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: A way to pay with Bitcoin/crypto at Uber in Europe? on: December 17, 2021, 10:59:13 AM
Even payment in cash is not possible. Therefore, the Uber driver himself will certainly not be able to accept Bitcoins, even if he wanted to.
It wouldn't be a case of an Uber driving accepting bitcoin for an Uber ride. Rather, the driver would turn up to collect you, you would ask if you could pay in bitcoin, you would cancel the ride request via Uber, the driver would take you somewhere not as an employee of Uber but as a private driver, and you would pay them in bitcoin. Nothing would go via the Uber app other than your initial request which you then cancel. Some Uber drivers also work as private drivers, but not all, so as I said above, you would want to check that your drive had insurance to do so.

This is a creative and interesting way. But on the one hand, the chance that an Uber driver will go for it is relatively low, since he would have to have a bitcoin wallet ready, among other things. Also, I would like to make sure that when I book an Uber, I can pay with bitcoin, because the possibility also exists that he does not accept bitcoins, I cancel the booking and then I then get a negative rating. If this happens more often, it could be a problem in general to find an Uber driver at all in the future.

Buying NFT for profit is a good idea because some NFT's sold at good prices and many investors invested in NFT's and they make a good profit than altcoins, I suggest Binance NFT platform is a good place to invest in NFT.

But you have to remember that the big wins are over. Let's take BoredApes as an example. A few months ago - before the hype started so right - you could buy this NFTs comparatively cheap. Today, they are worth an incredible amount. Yesterday, the headline went through the world that someone accidentally sold his BoredApe NFT worth $3 million for $3000 because he made a typo.
If you invest in new NFTs today, you already pay a lot of money and it is not guaranteed that you will find anyone in the future who wants to spend even more money on it. It is basically the same pattern as with CryptoKitties two three years ago. If you will, those were the first NFTs without being called that. Those who bought first made huge profits. The ones that bought later didn't make any profits at all or even made losses.

-snip-

No matter what medication you are taking, please consult your doctor if the dose may not be too high.

Your sentences are pure wishful thinking. For two reasons, I don't think this will happen in the next years/decades. 1) Decentralized payment systems like Bitcoin are technically far from being able to replace current financial payment systems. 2) There are powers that will never allow the replacement of the current system.
808  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: A way to pay with Bitcoin/crypto at Uber in Europe? on: December 15, 2021, 10:38:49 AM
Maybe I am wishing for something too much but you might get lucky enough to get a driver who accepts bitcoin as payment and you can pay directly.

I don't know if it might be possible in other countries, but here in Central Europe (Belgium, The Netherlands and Germany) you can only pay with Uber via credit cards, Paypal and a few more electronic payment methods. Even payment in cash is not possible. Therefore, the Uber driver himself will certainly not be able to accept Bitcoins, even if he wanted to. The situation is perhaps different for a normal cab company. But you have to be very lucky to find a driver who can handle and accept Bitcoin at all.

As far as I know Bitrefill purchases ALL their cards from a 3rd party. There are a few large providers that act as the middle man. It's one of the reasons that when you go to a lot of different physical stores they all have the same set of gift cards. At least here in the US.

That may be, but it does not apply to Amazon, for example. I bought an Amazon gift card at Bitrefill some time ago. Since I've had bad experiences with another provider before, I wrote to Bitrefill beforehand and asked if they buy the gift cards directly from Amazon. Customer service answered in the affirmative and wrote that they do it directly through Amazon's API.

Do you really believe that Dortmund can compete with Bavaria? Personally, I am very doubt in this, if only because personal games Bayern are confidently winning. Also, if I remember correctly, Borussia has a slump every season, mainly through a large number of injured players. The  bench at Borussia is much weaker, and this does not allow them to play well in several tournaments at the same time, perhaps this is what leads to frequent injuries to the players.

Dortmund has a squad that can definitely keep up with Bayern over an entire season. I would be sure that if Klopp were Dortmund's coach, he would be on par with Bayern with those talented and experienced players. Dortmund could also be ahead of Bayern in the table if they hadn't unfortunately lost the top game two weeks ago.
811  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: A way to pay with Bitcoin/crypto at Uber in Europe? on: December 14, 2021, 02:27:34 PM
I got Bitrefill and Coinsbee has Uber top-up service but they don't seem to support the countries you mentioned. Just found a Coinbase that might be able to do this. I've never used it before, it looks like you have to go through 2 redemption processes (BTC > E-giftcard > Uber Credit). Just visit their page for process details here.

Yes, I already checked out Bitrefill. They offer Uber giftcards for Europe. But, on the one hand, they are currently not in stock, on the other hand, the reviews are not really good. Someone had problems with redeeming the giftcard and it seems that Bitrefill does not buy the giftcards directly from Uber but through some middleman in Italy or Spain. Because you have to contact them if you have problems with the giftcards.
812  Economy / Service Discussion / A way to pay with Bitcoin/crypto at Uber in Europe? on: December 14, 2021, 01:11:25 PM
I've been using Uber quite a bit lately. But instead of continuing to use my credit card as payment, I'd like to find a way to pay with Bitcoin or crypto currencies in gerneral.

So the question: does anyone know of a service/giftcard provider or another way to securely pay with crypto at Uber?

I am referring to rides in Central Europe (France, Belgium, The Netherlands and Germany).
813  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- Group Stage! on: December 13, 2021, 03:12:13 PM
Latest results

Salzburg vs Bayern
Sporting vs Mancity
benfica vs Ajax
Chelsea vs LOSC
Atletico vs Man United
Villareal vs Juventus
Inter vs Liverpool
PSG vs Madrid

The second draw resulted in much better pairings than the first. In particular, there are now three top matches. PSG against Real will certainly be a cracker. But Atletico vs ManUnited and Inter Milan vs Liverpool are sure to be pretty interesting games as well.
My top favorite for the title, Bayern Munich, has probably been drawn the easiest opponent with Red Bull Salzburg.
814  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Europa League Discussion Thread on: December 13, 2021, 03:08:34 PM
A top match has been drawn, which could have been Europa League final. Barca against Napoli will certainly be a top-class match. For me, both teams are favorites for the title.
I think that either Dortmund, Napoli or FC Porto have the best chances to win the title. Then follows Barca and Sevilla. Especially Sevilla should never be underestimated in this Cup.
815  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Indian Prime Minister Promoting Bitcoins Giveaway on: December 13, 2021, 02:15:17 PM
So the whole country intelligence agencies are unable to find the hacker after 12-16 hrs of the hack. That's another big question on the country security. Probably they need to hire a hacker to get trace of another hacker.

Well, it's not that simple. Apparently, it was not a system of the Indian government that was hacked, but the account at an external service (in this case Twitter). This means that if Twitter does not provide the government or the IT specialists with any log data or the like, it is difficult to track down those behind the hack.
816  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador has become the first country to make #Bitcoin legal tender! 🇸🇻 on: December 13, 2021, 01:52:57 PM
Does anyone actually know if the Bitcoin purchased by El Salvador are insured somehow? Someone in the government must ultimately have control over the private keys. Probably several via multi-sig. But what happens if the government is voted out, or all the people who know the keys are killed (attack or assassination), or if corrupt people know these keys? Or if there is a coup d'état? All not so unrealistic in a country in Central or South America.
817  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: My crypto lessons in 2021 on: December 13, 2021, 01:47:13 PM
1. Still I ended losing more money than I made, I was sitting on 30,000$ profit last month but I failed to take profit just because of 100k BTC rumour that looks like reality

2. be careful of Crypto YouTubers deceiving people to buy in cryptos where as they are simply predictions, most times crypto market can't be predicted correctly

3. Follow your heart and nothing else cos if I've done that I would have pull my 30k profits and now I'm left with 5000$ in usdt

I can't tell you how many times I've read threads like this in the last 9-10 years. Exactly these three points are nothing new. Maybe for you, but many have already had this experience. I would like to briefly discuss the three points.

1) Never listen to any rumors! Also, one of the most important points in crypto investing is to have a cashout strategy. Many have an investing strategy, but very few have a strategy to cash out. Had you had such a strategy, you most likely would have come out with a good profit.

2) Forget Youtube Influencers! The vast majority have no plan. They are only interested in making a lot of money themselves. They always do on smart, but have no idea. In addition, they get extremely much money to promote any projects that are only shitcoins in the end. Best example was Bitconnect, which ruined many peoples life.

3) Exactly as explained in point 1. I wouldn't trust my heart, but rather set a cashout strategy that you stick to.
818  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: December 13, 2021, 01:37:07 PM
Rüdiger should be Chelsea's main focus now definitely. He is one of the most crucial players for this team in defense and even in offense also. Because he has been very effective in offense too recently. And there is a Real Madrid threat at the door as Rüdiger's contract is running out this summer. Chelsea should convince him to extend his contract.

In terms of salary, I think Chelsea have more leeway than Real to keep Rüdiger. But at the end of the day, it might not be a question of money either. For many players it is a dream to play for a team like Real Madrid once in their career. But I think Rüdiger also knows exactly what he has in Chelsea. There he earned himself a standing, which he first has to build up again at Real. It would be bad to throw that away lightly.
819  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think it is safe to buy coins that are only listed on one small exchange? on: December 13, 2021, 01:32:32 PM
...remember that all coins started from small exchanges before they get listed on big exchanges...

That's not quite true. There are many top projects which were directly listed on top exchanges, on the one hand because they were massively valued and hyped right after an ICO or, on the other hand, when they were issued in cooperation with one of the top exchanges. I remember Ethereum for example, which was pretty early listed on the top exchanges.
820  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- Group Stage! on: December 13, 2021, 01:28:48 PM
Hahah, I don't recall this ever happening before. Anyway, new draw is at 3PM.

What a shame, really!  Cheesy Some betting providers had already put the matches out for bets Cheesy Well, now it's time for the second round at 3 p.m. Somehow I think it's good, as the first draw only produced matches where a rather good team plays against a top team, with the exception of PSG against Manchester United. All other matches would have been easy to bet.
