1281  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about Baby Doge? on: July 06, 2021, 01:03:25 PM
With a circulating supply of 420,000,000,000,000,000, I seriously doubt any thinking investor would buy that and hold for long term. Elon's probably bored and playing with people's greed and gullibility. Those traders using bots probably made a lot of money from noobs.

The information is not right. According to a self report the current circulating supply is around 50 billion. The final amount which will ever exist for this coin will be 420 billion.

The fact that there is hardly any information about the current circulating quantity and how high the inflation is ,already shows that this is not a serious project.

Today alone, the price has fallen by 30%. A typical pump & dump pattern that the coin shows.

Dolberg to win Golden Boot with 4 goals but England still passing through with scorers other than Sterling and Kane? What do you think the odds are for that?

According to my information, Dolberg has only 3 goals yet. This is the official current list from UEFA:

5 goals:
Patrik Schick
Cristiano Ronaldo

4 goals:
Karim Benzema
Emil Forsberg
Romelu Lukaku

3 goals:
Kasper Dolberg
Harry Kane
Robert Lewandowski

Dolberg needs to score at least 3 more goals in the remaining two matches to become best striker and I doubt he will make it against England and maybe Spain/Italy.
My guess, Schick and Ronaldo will win.

Even though the charity focuses on the developing world where they feel the improvements they make in health infrastructure and sanitation will do the most good and save the most lives, in 2019 the charity spent approximately 524 million dollars on US programs with the vast majority going to educational initiatives.  I have no problem with a charity helping the developing world.  Charity is charity, and saving the most lives is what matters.

Can you give  a breakdown of this 514 million USD figure?

Not sure where these figures come from. Google search did not give me any result which would fit to these number. I would be interested too, to know how they can be broke down. Also, because the number is pretty low for the whole US for one year. Usually, such an amount in charity are made from single persons alone. And besides, the sum would be far too little for me, compared to what the super-rich save in taxes.

Sorry for Off-Topic!
1285  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Did Twitch secretly end payments with Bitcoin? on: July 05, 2021, 07:15:49 PM
When was the last time you paid using BTC? I assume you did so about 3 years ago.

There's this 2019 article that says it's been removed - Twitch Removes Support For Crypto Payments

Here's another one - Streaming Service Twitch Removes Crypto Payment Options, Reddit User Reports

A few weeks ago Wink

Your article is completely out of date. There was once a short period in 2019 when bitcoin payments were stopped. However, they were reintroduced at the end of 2019. You sometimes even got discounts on the subscription price if you paid with cryptocurrencies, as can be seen in this Coindesk article from July 2020.

1286  Economy / Economics / Re: Can the world be without poverty on: July 05, 2021, 07:11:52 PM
everyone can be rich if they are willing to learn, open-minded, and receptive to new things
being poor is a mindset, not destiny because thousands of super-rich people today, on average, come from poor families and drop out of school
It is not just the mindset, you need to have some qualities than the average Joe to think and perform better than the rest of the common people, the idea to make money is easy, have a billion dollar mindset is not enough, it is how you are going to execute things and that requires skills.

Education is not always enough. At least not in all parts of the world. If you are well educated in industrialized nations, you will certainly get a job. If you are very well educated in a developing country, for example, then it is not certain that you will get a job. The general conditions are just as important as the education itself.

We have seem strong teams get knocked out...the likes of the Netherlands, Portugal, France, Germany, which leaves me thinking it's anybodies tournament at this point.

I wonder what games you have seen. Some of the teams you listed were very deservedly eliminated. The Netherlands showed one good game, the others were not good. The same with Germany. Germany won only one out of four games and got seven counters. Beyond that, only the game against Portugal was halfway good. No doubt these are great football nations, but they deserved to be eliminated.
1288  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Did Twitch secretly end payments with Bitcoin? on: July 05, 2021, 07:49:50 AM
In the past, I have often paid for a subscription to streamers on Twitch (part of Amazon) with Bitcoin. I wanted to do this again today, but I can no longer find the payment option for Bitcoin or cryptocurrencies in general. I also could not find any announcement about ending this option.
Does anyone know if Twitch has permanently removed the Bitcoin payment option or if this is just temporary?
1289  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Monero: A good long-term investment? on: July 04, 2021, 10:04:23 AM
Competitors like DASH, Zcash, BEAM, and even Grin don't stand a chance against Monero's ever-growing user base and mainstream demand.
Monero is the best privacy coin and others can not compete with Monero. DASH, ZCash, BEAM, GRIN will join the party if Monero leads a new wave for privacy coins.

I think you forgot PirateCoin (ARRR). The coin is still relatively young compared to those listed, but has the strongest privacy functions in the crypto universe so far. In the past I used Monero as well, but now PirateCoin is my favorite privacy coin. You can found more information here https://pirate.black . The coin recently increased from $0.3 to over $5, but is now back at around $2.5. But still a big decreasing. You should definitely watch the coin Wink
1290  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA EURO 2020 Discussion Thread | Current Phase: Finals in June 2021! on: July 04, 2021, 09:56:17 AM
So, Denmark was the first team to reach the semifinals of an edition of the European Championships after losing two games in the group stage of the competition.
In Baku, the European dream continues for the Danish national team that overcomes the Czech obstacle and reaches the semifinals (the last time was in 1992), where it will face England (at the Wembley stadium).
Delaney immediately opened the scoring with a great head shot, then at the end of the first half, Dolberg doubled the score on a wonderful assist by Maehle. The Czech Republic scored in the second half with the usual Schick, but after the triple whistle, it's time for Denmark to celebrate and keep dreaming.
Problem is that waking up, England is right before their eyes.

Denmark may be dreaming of a title again this season after 1992. But winning the title will not be easy for them. The opponent in the next match is England. England have not lost a match so far. They have beaten strong opponents like Croatia and Germany. I think Denmark's hopes of winning the title, England will end here

I think England will make it to the final, but will end up losing to Spain, or probably Italy. Both Spain and Italy are much better than England in terms of defense and offense. The 4-0 victory belies a bit the fact that England has big problems offensively. If you take out Sterling and Kane, then it looks very bad. Neither Croatia nor Germany or Ukraine did understand this. The Spanish and Italians will do much better and then it will be hard for England.

1292  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin high fees on: July 02, 2021, 06:25:44 PM
Who is paying for high fees and why are they doing this? I am quite certain this is not holders hurrying to buy a Tesla with bitcoins hehe. This might be transactions from exchanges or going to exchanges, however, why the hurry?

Hard to say why they are in a hurry, but "high" fees also depends on the amount you transfer. Someone who is transfering 10k from an exchange, don't really care about a fee of $10 or a little bit more. Sometimes buyers also have the obligation to carry out a transaction within 15-30 minutes, which then also has at least one confirmation in this time. This could also be a reason.

I would be interested to know if it is known that Bosch is still a witness of Obyte and if Bosch is still holding on to Obyte?
Obyte seems to really maneuvered itself from a real hope a bit into the sidelines. I really hope that the project still get the courses, because technologically Obyte is one of the top projects in the distributed ledger space.

It's a shame Germany lost, I didn't like England's game... They didn't play football and they didn't let Germany play! It was a classic England bus... I hope Ukraine can win them, although it's almost unreal...  Grin

This is not disrespectful to Germany. England is not a weak team. Germany and England are teams of the same standard. However, Germany did not play well in the second half. They didn't have much chance to counter-attack after conceding a goal. We have seen lots of attacks and counter-attacks in Switzerland va France's match. But we didn’t see it in the match between Germany and England.

England are actually or were favourites to win the tournament and from looking
at the Sweden v Ukraine game last night England should come through that match.

Maybe we didn't see the same game, but England didn't play well against Germany. Germany played badly and England played mediocre. England has scored only four goals so far and three of them were scored by Sterling. That says a lot. For me England is not a favorite even if they have all the games at home at Wembley from the semifinals on. So far Italy, Spain and Czech Republic have convinced me the most.

1296  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: After China, Now it's Mexico's Turn to Ban Crypto on: July 01, 2021, 07:23:50 PM
After the Chinese government banned the use of cryptocurrencies a few weeks ago, the Mexican government is now banning the use of cryptocurrencies in the financial system.
https://www.coindesk.com/mexicos-treasury-secretary-confirms-cryptos-are-banned-from-financial-system

Will the ban have a negative impact on the future of crypto? there are already several countries that prohibit the use of cryptocurrencies.

There are other country just don't understand the good benefits of the Bitcoin and cryptocurrency. But since they banned
cryptocurrency there is no impact also to affect the market we have it now too. Besides, as far as I know Mexico is one of the poorest
nation in the whole world now.

Be sure they understand, but it undermines their integrity. That's why states fight cryptocurrencies in general. To put it a little heroically: Cryptocurrencies are the weapons of the little man or woman to resist state control. Of course, states don't like that, so they take countermeasures.
1297  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: After China, Now it's Mexico's Turn to Ban Crypto on: July 01, 2021, 12:22:02 PM
This shouldn't sound so panicking to world if Mexico try's to ban cryptocurrency. okay let talk about China what is; has it make the Bitcoin price to drop?

NO!

So a poor nation shouldn't be a threat to cryptocurrency Globally.

Is China really banning crypto? Or is it not much more the case that China wants to curb mining for environmental reasons?

I think China has understood that they cannot ban the use of cryptocurrencies. They already tried to do that in 2017/18 without success. Now they're going after the miners. But I would see it as a total ban of crypto currencies.
1298  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A word of warning before playing on BitStarz casino on: July 01, 2021, 12:06:35 PM
I can confirm this in part from my own experience. I used to refer new members for Bitstarz. Some of the members I knew personally and because they gave you free spins for signing up, I found a lot of people who wanted to try the casino. Most of them didn't win anything with the free spins or lost everything right away. But there were a few who had good winnings with the free spins and reached the payout limit. When they wanted to cash out, Bitstarz first asked for personal data (supposedly for security reasons). After that was supplied, they claimed there was irregular behavior with the account, etc. In the end, none of the users I know received their winnings. Since then, I am no longer active on the platform itself, nor do I promote it.
1299  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What would the ideal cryptocurrency ecosystem be like? on: July 01, 2021, 12:01:09 PM

Apart from these two platforms and parameters, do you all agree if someone leads an ecosystem related to the world of blockchain and cryptocurrencies?

I totally disagree, it's like a monopoly and very far from what blockchain technology is trying to achieve. and there is no ideal ecosystem in the crypto market because all will always be competing. there will be no leader who controls the ecosystem, all have an equal chance of being successful.

Yes, I would agree in principle with the equal competition thing.

But, in the end, a few will prevail, maybe just one or two platforms. That's what the network effect brings in the long term. You can see that well in today's Internet giants. There is only one big social media platform (Facebook), only one big search engine (Google), only one big short messaging platform (Twitter), etc.

Sooner or later, the same thing will happen in the blockchain space.
1300  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA EURO 2020 Discussion Thread | Current Phase: Finals in June 2021! on: July 01, 2021, 11:52:30 AM
Now my favorite goes to Belgium I'm sure these young players can make it to the final.

Belgium has not really convinced so far. I wouldn't see them as the current favorite, but rather Italy or Spain. Belgium is too dependent on De Bruyne, and when he's missing, their forward play is very poor. You saw that in the last game when De Bruyne had to be substituted at half time due to injury. After that, Belgium was hardly able to start a reasonable attack and, in my opinion, undeservedly made it to the quarterfinals.
