1021  Economy / Economics / Re: Permanent inflation or "just temporary" on: October 06, 2021, 12:53:28 PM
Difficult to say. The current upward price spiral is clearly caused by limited goods and still partly interrupted supply chains. Just look at how many industries are now affected by the shortage of semiconductors. If one can believe different sources, then this condition will continue at least 1-1.5 years. Whether the upward price trend will continue after the bottleneck has been overcome also depends on whether the central banks get the tappering implemented or continue as before. If they continue as they are, inflation could be significantly higher in the longer term.
1022  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: October 06, 2021, 12:48:22 PM
The final result in the Bayern Munich - Frankfurt match surprised me a lot. I never thought that Bayern Munich would be the losing team in even their home match. Actually, they didn't perform poorly also. But still, they somehow lost by 2-1 here. Frankfurt's quick answer to Bayern Munich's first goal was very critical I think. Because if it didn't happen, most probably Bayern Munich would take the full control and open the gap. This result helped Dortmund and B. Leverkusen a lot to get much closer to Bayern.

I think this defeat was an exception. Bayern was really not as bad as you might expect from the result. They had several 100% chances, but a great keeper Trapp prevented them. Accordingly, the victory was rather lucky for Frankfurt. But they has also played tactically clever. One could therefore conclude that the result was a combination of bad luck and tactical cleverness.

1024  Economy / Economics / Re: Why exchanges are charging a big amount as transaction fee on withdrawal on: October 05, 2021, 01:45:01 PM
It basically determines an oligopoly of crypto exchanges and accordingly there is no real competition, which explains the high fees. However,  there is more and more progress in the development of atomic swaps, i.e. transactions directly from one blockchain to another. This is the future of crypto trading anyway in my opinion. Moreover, it will be much cheaper because instead of three transactions (deposit, exchange, withdrawal) there will only be one and also more secure, as the intermediary (crypto exchange) will be eliminated.
1025  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Get a $0.20 per gallon discount on petrol when paying with Bitcoin. on: October 05, 2021, 01:27:53 PM
Global Bitcoin adoption is on the rise as El Salvador approved bitcoin as a legal tender some months ago, haven't rolled out thousands of Bitcoin ATMs the government has gone further to place a subsidy on petroleum ⛽ when paying with Bitcoin using the government-owned Bitcoin wallet.
https://cointelegraph.com/news/el-salvador-introduces-fuel-subsidy-of-0-20-per-liter-to-locals-who-pay-in-btc

According to official statements there are not thousands of ATMs installed yet, the official numbers speaks about 205. Here is a tweet from Bukele who shares these information
https://twitter.com/nayibbukele/status/1442533230540886019

The discount on gasoline is no wonder, as the government continues to try to enforce Bitcoin. After all, the official figures also say that over 2 million have installed the Civo Wallet so far, which is around 1/3 of the total population. By the way, you get $30 in Bitcoin for free on this wallet. So this new promotion fits in well.
1026  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Two Top New Projects That I Think Will Have Potential on: October 04, 2021, 10:52:45 AM
I looked a little into the first project Aleph. The technical whitepaper "Aleph: Efficient Atomic Broadcast in Asynchronous Networks with Byzantine Nodes" was published back in August 2019. So the whole idea is more than two years old and not actually really new. Do you have more information on why the project is suddenly such a big insider tip? Or did you just focus on the Tx/S? Then I can only say that this doesn't really say anything unless you test the technology under heavy workloads. The best example has been Solana recently. And they only got a handle on the problem because the network is not really decentralized.
1027  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Iranian Bitcoin Mining Ban Lifted after four Months on: October 04, 2021, 10:44:48 AM
This is further proof that you can't ban Bitcoins and cryptocurrencies in general. If Iran can't do it, even though it's a quasi-dictatorship and has great control over the local Internet, then large open countries like those in the West won't be able to do it. This should be clear by now to everyone who constantly puts the argument on the table that Bitcoin won't be worth anything anymore once it gets banned.
1028  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: October 04, 2021, 10:40:47 AM
Seeing how results have come through from major football  leagues around the world ,I really don't know if this was manipulation of the game or the titans of football just got unlucky.

First it was United dropping points, then we witnessed another  upset for Barcelona who could not even get a goal then we saw PSG lose  to Rennes and its not like rennes faced a weak team no most of their superstars did play and non of them could get a goal either and another shocker coming all the way from Germany was Bayern Munich losing at home....what's happening in the world of football!?

Unlucky, why? I saw both summaries of the games and both times the victory was deserved. Both Frankfurt and Renne were clearly better than Bayern and PSG. It's not unusual for teams that haven't lost five or six games in a row to have a bad day, especially when they also have to play internationally. Fortunately, I didn't bet on either of the top two teams, if only because the odds are too low for me to have a reasonable risk-reward ratio.
1029  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Don't miss this opportunity to buy and hold BNB on: October 03, 2021, 11:26:21 AM
as we know that Binance has two projects, that is exchange and smart contract, then the total supply of BNB is around 160m and will burn every quarter, so the total supply of BNB will be less every quarter and with the current price of BNB ($410), then I think the price of BNB is still very low, because with a small total supply of BNB and BNB is one of the most popular projects (top 5 on coinmarketcap), then I think the price of BNB can still increase very high and reach at least $1500 (I think it's a decent price for BNB), therefore now is still the right time to invest in BNB and hold it for the long term, because at this time you can still buy BNB at a low price.

It's interesting that you don't write anything at all about the danger that Binance poses. Binance is currently the largest crypto exchange in the world and is not regulated at all. It also has no official headquarters. That's why many investigative agencies around the world are after Binance*. What if Binance's backers are eventually caught and the exchange is shut down? Then the value of the token would vanish into thin air.

If the exchange goes down smart contracts will stay, and they will have DEX too! Of course, "Nobody is too big to fail", but I don't think that will happen with Binance!

Are you sure? Do you realize that the BNB Chain is centralized and the node operators are mostly controlled by Binance? Currently there are only 11 validators. I wouldn't be so sure if the chain would be maintained if Binance were to be shut down. If you believe that you should research a little more or at least read articles like this one on Yahoo Finance https://finance.yahoo.com/news/binance-smart-chain-centralization-concerns-092000694.html
1030  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar - UEFA Qualifiers on: October 03, 2021, 11:10:47 AM
I think that the most interesting games on October 8 are Germany v Romania and Turkey v Norway. Germany have been dominating their very easy group. They lost only once and won the rest of their five matches.

Germany lost the game under the old coach Loew. Since Flick is the coach, the game is much more dominant again and all games were won clearly. Therefore, I think that Germany will win the group very easily and it will be only an exception if they will not win a game in this group. The team is too strong for that. That's why I don't really find it interesting. Norway against Turkey, on the other hand, is interesting.
1031  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: October 03, 2021, 11:05:16 AM
RB Leipzig today won a match vs one of the outsiders Bochum 3-0. but it wasn't an easy game because first goal was scored at 69th minute by Andre Silva and then Christopher Nkunku added two at 73rd and 78th minutes.

I saw the game in the live conference. Of course, it looks like it wasn't easy, since the first goal was scored late. However, Leipzig was dominant for 90 minutes and had many opportunities even before the first goal. They just didn't take their chances. After the first goal was scored, the resistance largely collapsed and it was then easy for Leipzig to score two more goals.
1032  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: October 03, 2021, 11:00:50 AM
You're right , I've seen the match stats that barcelona is in control of the game unfortunately no goals then we can assume that poor finishing up front
imagine with 71% ball possession can't do anything? I'm sure the fans are not comfortable with this situation and the coach will be replaced in the near future

You don't even have to look at Barcelona's stats to see how bad the team is. It's better to see the two goals conceded against Atletico. Both goals came from counterattacks and both times the Barca players were outnumbered 1 to 2 and yet Atletico was able to combine through good passing and then score the goals through beautiful finishes by Lamar and Suarez.
Barca's performance on offense was even worse. A tragedy for such a proud club.

1034  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: October 02, 2021, 10:59:24 AM
i guess Wolfsburg will win the game against Gladbach.

I think so. Wolfsburg's performance has been very stable so far. Despite losing the points in the last two matches, they have won the first 4 matches. By defeating the Gladbach team, they will maintain the winning streak again. Gladbach's performance has been weak this season. They have won only 2 matches. Wolfsburg will win if they make no mistake in today's match and if their defenders perform well.

Don't forget that not only have they dropped points in their last two league games, but they have yet to win a game in the European Cup, although neither were high-profile opponents. Gladbach got a small boost after the win against Dortmund. That's why this game will be interesting.
1035  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador 🇸🇻 Mines First Bitcoin With Volcanic Energy 🌋 on: October 02, 2021, 10:55:20 AM
It's god damn geothermal energy as that is a geothermal power station, not a volcanic power station, ...

Volcanic energy sounds much better than geothermal energy. Most people don't understand the difference anyway. In the end, it doesn't matter as long as people understand that these are "clean" Bitcoins that have been mined. That is, with energy that was generated without fossil fuels. After all, that's often one of the biggest criticisms, that bitcoin mining would help cause climate change.
1036  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Shitcoins as collectables in the future on: October 02, 2021, 10:49:18 AM
Don't expect good fortune at those. Focus your money on real coins than waiting 20 years for those shitcoins to be alive. Smiley

I wouldn't rule out the possibility that one or two shitcoins might see a revival sooner or later. Many shitcoins are therefore no longer worth anything because the projects are no longer being actively developed. Should a capable developer be found or even a team of developers who want to push the project forward again with new features, then I basically see possibilities. It is often easier to revive an old project than to start a completely new one.
1037  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: October 01, 2021, 02:25:00 PM
I think it's fair to say that the game against Atletico is a fateful game for Koeman. Should Barca lose the game clearly, like the last two CL games, then Barca must fire him if they do not want to fall behind so early in the season.
I am then only curious who they want to sign instead. At the moment there are hardly any good coaches on the market, and if there were, they would probably be too expensive for Barca.

1039  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The misconception when buying/investing in Bitcoin on: October 01, 2021, 01:59:40 PM
This misconception happen because they're often buy shitcoins and want to made quick profit. Take an example 1 Bitcoin worth $41.000 right now, if the price increase to $60.000 of course $19.000 is really good profit if you own Bitcoin but if you own little amount you'll only get +31%.

The misconception here is that many think Bitcoin is already too expensive to still make a big profit. I heard and read this argument often when Bitcoin was at 1k. So many said, it is not worth anymore to invest into Bitcoin because it is already very expensive and there is little space to grow. Well, today we know there is/was at least 60x space to grow  Smiley So the question is whether you are now subject to this error again. Who says that Bitcoin's fair value is not 1 Million? Then 20x would be possible.
Also, I would not always think in BTC as a reference, but for mBTC ($47 at the moment), then it is much easier to consider that also $500 or 1000 per mBTC is possible.

Wahlen in Berlin  Grin

Quote
