1641  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: When do you expect the Altcoin rally? on: March 08, 2021, 09:12:44 PM
Altcoin rally happens by itself for now I see altcoins can go up by themselves without the need for full btc help I know the price of btc will affect altcoins but not entirely.

Your statement does not support the previous experience since the existence of crypto. So far, a pattern has always emerged and altcoins have always been heavily dependent on Bitcoin. They developed in the same slipstream as Bitcon. If bitcoin went up, so did altcoins. If bitcoin fell, altcoins fell too. Mostly with a certain delay.
1642  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: India to regulate Bitcoin?Good news for crypto enthusiast on: March 08, 2021, 05:36:08 PM
I read the same news on Cointelegraph today.

I am glad that a rethink is taking place in India. A few weeks ago I was commenting in a thread here about the fact that India wants to completely ban Bitcoin and cryptos. Now, on closer inspection, they have probably realized that they cannot do this at all and are trying to regulate it instead. You could also say it is a capitulation and a victory for decentralized payment systems.

1644  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ English Premier League Season: 2020/2021 on: March 08, 2021, 05:17:22 PM
RESULTS:
Manchester City 0-2 Manchester United
A tremendous victory for the red devils, City failed to score for the first time in their last 21 games. The unbeaten streak is over and with 10 games left, the league is still open for contention.

It seemed to me that ManCity had spared themselves a little for the upcoming CL match, knowing that even if they lose (as it happened then) they would still have eleven points ahead in the league. Of course it's a prestige duel, but compared to the previous games, ManCity played strangely weak.
1645  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why bitcoin mixers are only for criminals on: March 07, 2021, 07:11:52 PM
Bitcoin mixers and coin mixers in general are only designed for criminals and are only used for criminals.

It's very sad that this forum allows ads from coin mixers. People representing them in their signatures are also supporting criminals.
-snip-

It's very sad that you did not understand the actual purpose of Bitcoin mixers. Real criminals do not need mixers which, by the way, are not that anonymous as you think. Their outcome can often be calculated if you invest some time and energy. They rather use privacy coins.

There are countries in which Bitcoin is banned and since Bitcoin is easy tracable as you already stated, users from those counties often need to add some privacy to do transactions.

If I follow your logic, then all Tor users are criminals too.

1647  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Has Bitcoin Failed as Money? on: March 07, 2021, 05:00:20 PM
Tried to pay with bitcoin a couple of times, but always found the fees way too high.

The thing is, paying with Bitcoin is possible if there is no hype. In 2018/19 I paid a lot of bills by paying not more than 20 cents in fee. Indeed, this is still high if you have small transactions like $2 or $3, but okay when having $20 or $30 or even more. But each time Bitcoin is demanded and hyped then fees rise to the sky.
1648  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: March 07, 2021, 04:55:23 PM

Yesterdays won from Bayern had taken them to the number 1 spot again I feel sorry for Leipzig for getting spot then crumbles away because of Bayern,...

Leipzig is only one point behind. Should Leipzig be eliminated from the Champions League against Liverpool (which I assume after the first leg), then they have an advantage over Bayern, as they can concentrate on the DFB Cup and the league, while Bayern then still have additional stress in the CL. Bayern squad is not as strong as last year to compensate the additional load from the CL, so I think the league will remain exciting and Leipzig even has a chance to win the double (cup and league).

Not yet. Give bitcoin a little more time. Just a little more.

Do you have inside information that something will be changed in the Bitcoin protocol so that it will be much more scalable or did you just not read my opening post?  Wink
1651  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: March 05, 2021, 05:14:37 PM
Utter chaos and despair: that is what I see on Schalke 04's side and a victory against Mainz is the only result.
Last game with Stuttgart should be like a wake up call for Die Knappen because if they fail even here relegation is just a few steps away.
I do not see them winning, I think Mainz will take this opportunity to win three points.
Mainz can manage to defeat Schalke in this match considering their form recently. Getting wins against teams like Union Berlin and Gladbach is not easy for sure. I believe those wins boosted their morale despite losing their last game against Augsburg. It is also a chance for Schalke to gather strength but they got huge defeats in their last 2 matches despite playing not too bad.

I also predict Mainz will win the match against Schalke, not only Mainz's performance is much better than Schalke. The chance for Mainz to leave
the relegation area is still wide open, so Mainz will ensure his victory to get out of the relegation area. Therefore Mainz will play more attacking
in order to get 3 points, especially if Hertha and Bielefeld lose points in the next match. Of course it will make Mainz out of the relegation area,
but will not be easy to realize.

I think tonight's match is Schalke's very last chance. If they win that, they have 12 points. Six points away from the relegation place. Then there are still 10 game days to play. They can surely catch up with the six points if they get a good run. Should Schalke lose to a direct relegation competitor like Mainz today, it will be over in my opinion and Schalke can be pretty sure plan for the second division next season.
1652  Economy / Economics / Re: Pricing in Dollar - Pricing in Bitcoin on: March 05, 2021, 05:09:22 PM
We are all certain that the Dollar and other FIAT are going to crash in the near future
or after we get to grips with this pandemic and financial aid ends. When this happens
we wont be pricing Bitcoin in Dollars.

The question is, what do you mean by crash? Fiat currencies like the dollar will be around for a long time. They will only lose their value more and more. When my grandfather was young there was an ounce of gold for around $50, today you pay almost 40 times as much. It will be similar with Bitcoin and many cryptocurrencies. Their value will continue to rise, but not necessarily because the inner value of crypto is increasing, but because Bitcoin is limited and inevitably has to increase in value against inflation of fiat money.
1653  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread on: March 05, 2021, 05:04:55 PM
The 5-0 win over crotone in Serie A was enough to keep their confidence in the face of Madrid. I see Atalanta are still quite consistent with their performance since last season. Even though Madrid is the host and have 1 away goal ahead, Atalanta seems to be able to maintain the potential to win. 2 goals for Atalanta, still make sense. I wish they will go to the next round once again.

You can't compare Crotone to Madrid. These are two different leagues. Nonetheless, Madrid is the clear favorite and I think they will go through to the next round.

By the way, UEFA just confirmed that the re-match of Leipzig vs Liverpool will be held in Budapest again. I think this is fair, so that no team would have had a real home advantage, neither Leipzig nor Liverpool.
1654  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coin can x10 for now? on: March 04, 2021, 04:39:56 PM
Hello Guys, What is your prediction?

I see coins like ZEC, DASH, EOS, ETC, ONT, XRP... far from ATH, Are they x10 capable?

Or New Coins like Near, POLS, SNX, LRC....?

I missed many x5 x10 property trips like ETH from 200$, ADA from 0,1$, DOT from 5$, Link from 4$.

Thanks guy.

You ask this question at the wrong time. It's always like that at the peak of a bull run, people ask which coin can somehow go up 10x or 100x. Nobody ask that when we're down and in a bear market. Then most people don't care about crypto market. But it is at this point - at the bottom - that the big gains are made.
1655  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Has Bitcoin Failed as Money? on: March 04, 2021, 04:28:54 PM
You are a legendary member registered in 2013, so why are you asking the question that was asked hundreds of times already, I'm sure you saw and maybe even participated in some of the scaling debate threads.
High fees isn't exactly new thing, a quick confirmation fee over $1 has been a thing from time to time since 2017.

Well, I have described the current state, but that does not mean that there is still hope. So far, Bitcoin has always been described as a fiat-money alternative. My intention was whether this is still the claim at all or whether it is already going in the direction of asset alternative a la gold.
1656  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamblers - How do you use your signature campaign earnings? on: March 04, 2021, 04:05:24 PM
if you're not in a hurrey you can always send transacton with a low sats/byte and wait
this website is quite usefull for checking fees and mempool congestion:
https://bitcoinfees.net/

but of course the idea of waiting 3-4 weeks before withdrawing to save on fees, proportionally, is a good practice.

I also use this strategy quite often when fees are that high as at the moment. But I do not wait longer than a week or so. If the transaction has not been confirmed within a week I just go and increase the transaction fee afterwards. Wallets like Electrum allow this to increase speed of a transaction. However, sometimes you have luck and the Tx is confirmed within a week with a low fee.
1657  Local / Altcoins (Deutsch) / Re: Deutsche NEM Community on: March 04, 2021, 03:56:37 PM
1658  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Need advice on: March 02, 2021, 07:32:26 PM
Which one is more suited for crypto newbies? Mining or investing on coins? I can afford building a mining farm or investing in coins but as a newbie which one has the lowest risks?

Forget about mining unless you live in a country with extremely low electricity costs. But there are only a few of them worldwide. Otherwise, investing is clearly the better option for beginners.
1659  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If an Altcoin has a chance to overtake Ethereum, which one would it be? on: March 02, 2021, 07:30:21 PM
1. Avalanche. Avalanche is completely different from existing projects and experts have given Avalanche a high chance to be a big game changer for Blockchain and mainstream adoption because of interoperability, great decentralization and scalability in addition to low transaction fees. Avalanche was reviewed by SEQ and received a positive rating: https://medium.com/avalanche-hub/avalanche-consensus-the-biggest-breakthrough-since-nakamoto-66e9917fd656
2. Tezos. Tezos has been developed diligently be Tezos devs. It’s a solid, but very undervalued project. Tezos was reviewed by Blockgeeks and received a positive rating: https://blockgeeks.com/guides/what-is-tezos/
3. IOTA. IOTA has been a leading project for innovative approaches but IOTA developers had difficulties to deliever. Currently, IOTA is very undervalued and can be a very wise pick because IOTA has made huge developments recently, like IOTA Chrysalis (IOTA 1.5). IOTA description and analysis: https://medium.com/iotatangle/chrysalis-iota-1-5-phase-1-now-live-on-mainnet-958ec4a4a415
4. Cosmos. Cosmos is a promising project for a scaling blockchain platform. It wasn’t hyped yet because developers are still diligently building. However, experts have some concerns of being too centralized and Cosmos has too high inflation. Cosmos was reviewed by SEQ and received a mixed rating: https://medium.com/@CryptoSeq/cosmos-an-early-in-depth-analysis-at-the-ecosystem-of-connected-blockchains-part-one-508cd679bac5
5. Waves. Waves is an established network of a next generation Ethereum platform but has failed so far to meet expectations. However, it is a big and experienced developer team and Waves seems to be very undervalued currently.
6. Solana. Solana has started developing under Anatoly Yakovenko’s hatch just recently. It has made big progress and is shilled by prominent YouTubers and marketing figures. Anatoly Yakovenko has developed a good marketing strategy but it remains unclear, if Solana can be a top aspirant for DeFi, because concerns remained, when Anatoly Yakovenko could not respond to critics sufficiently, when he was recently confronted. Solana received an endorsement from Coinbureau: https://www.coinbureau.com/review/solana-sol/
7. Polkadot. Polkadot was invented by Gavin Wood, who developed Ethereum before. Polkadot has already established a big ecosystem and is still growing. But a high inflation, limited scalability and centralisation (dPoS) are issues for Polkadot. Polkadot was reviewed by SEQ and received a mixed rating: https://medium.com/@CryptoSeq/polkadot-an-early-in-depth-analysis-part-three-limitations-and-issues-d8b0a795a3e
8. Cardano. Cardano has already a very high Marketcap and it’s very likely an overvalued coin. Cardano was started almost 5 years ago from Charles Hoskinson, an abandoned Ethereum developer. Cardano has constantly developed but in addition to a good marketing strategy, it hasn’t achieved a working mainnet platform of contracts, like Ethereum. Release was always pushed back and promised “soon” (you know). Delays are usual for Cardano.
9. Algorand. Algorand was very promising before it started but a bad planned ICO and a huge dump after launch, where VC and rich participants sold, caused a dump from 3$ to 0.20$ and left a huge loss for many members. Wasted opportunity but developers are still building.

Nice summary!

Two projects: Waves and NEM (soon to be renamed to SYMBOL). From a technical point of view, these are the projects that can hold a candle to Ethereum without the disadvantages (high fees for instance).

In the second row I would then see Cardano (especially with the scientific aspect) and to some extent Solana.

Should IOTA be able to keep its promise with the Coordicide in the next few months, then the list is done anyway. Then IOTA is clearly better than Ethereum. However, the project is currently still suffering from its not that great decentralization solution.

I wonder why hardly anyone lists Neo and EOS anymore. I've been saying for years that these are completely overrated projects from a technology point of view and now it seems many have realized this, too.
1660  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: March 02, 2021, 07:16:48 PM
That is normal for any team and not just Leverkussen. When you come right out of a surprise elimination you cannot directly be in a psychological state that gives you the opportunity to win the upcoming game. This is done only from really big teams which can react directly but Leverkussen is far from being a big team since the years 2000 when they even reached the final of European competitions.

You are very right about it. Leverkusen haven't had any success in the international tournaments for a very long time. They shockingly lost to Young Boys in their home match and got eliminated. It must be devastating for them. But on the other hand, they had a really nice performance in the Freiburg match actually but Freiburg still managed to win somehow.

The result against Bern was embarrassing. But it was even more embarrassing to be eliminated from the DBF cup against a fourth division club (Essen) a few weeks ago. Something is wrong with the team overall.

By the way: Today Gladbach plays against Dortmund in the DFB Cup quarter-finals. Dortmund is the clear favorite, which also underlines the past results. Nonetheless, a double chance on Gladbach with @ 1.98 is very interesting and I bet a small amount on it.
