862  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How can people in Afganistan use crypto? on: November 28, 2021, 07:11:35 PM
A good childhood friend of mine served two years in Afghanistan as a training officer. Funnily enough, he always told us that in principle every Afghan has a cell phone, even if they tend to be of the cheapest variety. But he said that also seriously, because often Afghan officers who accompanied them on the patrol always phoned and it often made the appearance that the people in their village in which they then wanted to patrol were waiting in advance and thus also the Taliban always already knew when they came.

But what I actually want to say is that from a technical point of view, the Afghan is well equipped for crypto. The mobile network is also comparatively well developed. I think most people lack the knowledge of the technology rather than the ability to implement it.
863  Economy / Economics / Re: China cracking down innovation on: November 28, 2021, 06:40:18 PM
I would say that Chinese government allows basically dictatorial ways to handle their economics. Normally I am not the one for suggesting liberal policies but the reality is that instead of a dictatorial way I would say that it would be a lot better to let people be however they are. Is European way of socialism better?

There is a huge gap between a dictatorial way of economics and the liberal way (or in other words turbo-capitalism). So there are indeed many ways between to create a economical policy that fits both, the companies as well as the employers. Europe had such a balanced system until the introduction of the Euro. But with the introduction of the Euro, it is moving more and more toward a centrally controlled economic policy that will sooner or later lead to ruin. So that's not a good model either. At most the time before the euro.

Chelsea - Manchester United

cristiano ronaldo won't be playing at the beginning of the game, what does the new coach want to see with ronaldo's absence?

Most recently, it was the case that Ronaldo did very little work defensively, tying up more players in midfield and making ManU's game more difficult, especially in midfield. Maybe the coach wants to see how it goes when everyone is working at the back, which could make ManU's game more variable.
Overall, however, Chelsea dominates the match at the moment. And only because of De Gea, ManU is not yet behind.
865  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is a private cryptocurrency on: November 27, 2021, 11:59:48 AM
True, but we all know that US SEC is hard pressed to break Monero's privacy-centric algorithm isn't it?

https://www.forbes.com/sites/kellyphillipserb/2020/09/14/irs-will-pay-up-to-625000-if-you-can-crack-monero-other-privacy-coins/?sh=46a70db685cc

So it's not public vs private but a whole new game for SEC and other regulators because they think that this privacy coins are going to be used by criminals to hide their wealth or other entities who wants to get away from the prying eyes of regulators.

Even if they should manage to crack it, there are now further developments that would simply have to be implemented, and privacy and anonymity would be guaranteed again. There are also now other projects, such as PirateChain, which pursue different approaches than Monero and are considered more secure. It will always remain a cat and mouse game.
866  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi Nakamoto's Wealth on: November 27, 2021, 11:44:51 AM
Do you guys think that this will remain a mystery? Or maybe we'll see this holdings moving soon?

I personally believe that Satoshi - whether he is still alive or not - destroyed the private keys of his wallets. That would at least fit his behavior in the past. If he had a personal interest in the wealth (which would be around $50 billion, based on the wallets that are attributed to him), then he would certainly have moved Bitcoin from these wallets in the past.

868  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Play-to-Earn games on ETH: What's the catch? on: November 26, 2021, 02:31:20 PM
Thoughts? Huh

Such eth-based games will not catch on, in my opinion, as long as the architecture of Ethereum is as it is. Currently, you pay $7-10 for a simple Eth transaction, and up to $50 for a smart contract transaction. How will dynamic blockchain-based gaming be possible? Makes no sense.
869  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Europa Conference League Discussion Thread on: November 26, 2021, 02:22:20 PM
Sigh guys you all are right, Spurs is the biggest achiever in this league (UCL finalists 2 years ago) and yet they are the ones who may not even progress to the last 16.

It shows that money doesn't score goals. Tottenham should dominate the Cup, if you only consider the value of the club and the financial resources available. As a more traditional football fan, I welcome such clubs being eliminated early. I hope that football will soon change its way of thinking.
870  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: November 26, 2021, 02:18:54 PM
Perhaps the Bundesliga season will be more exciting than many expect. Not only that Dortmund has come to within a point of Bayern, there are currently many problems at Bayern. A part of the fans virtually rebelled yesterday at the annual general meeting, because Bayern has Qatar Airways as a sponsor and the fans want the deal to be reversed. Also, Bayern has been under criticism in Germany for a few weeks because there are many unvaccinated players (including some key players) who are now sick with Covid. This creates a lot of uncertainty and if Dortmund does it right, they can pass Bayern in the league in the next few match days.
871  Economy / Economics / Re: Possible market crash in the near future? on: November 26, 2021, 02:14:11 PM
Finally we have (probably the beginning of) a crash. This is not only evident in the crypto sector, but also in the equity sector. In principle, this is due to a newly discovered virus mutation in South Africa, which has many mutations and is supposed to bypass the immune system better than all previous variants.
And one should not forget that the currently prevailing Delta variant caused a sensation in India for the first time exactly one year ago (in November 2020).
In addition, inflation figures are very high, which fuels fears that less money will soon be printed, which puts pressure on stocks and crypto markets.
872  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is more important Hype or Utility? on: November 26, 2021, 02:08:10 PM
In the long run always utility. If you look at the crypto charts over the last 10 years, so will se many hype phases, which all ended sooner or later. But the best cryptos have survived and in the process have massively increased in value, despite the many hype and down phases. Because they had a utility, otherwise they would have disappeared from the scene, like many coins/projects that had no real utility.
873  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: November 26, 2021, 01:57:35 PM
He was very close to joining Milan last year. He has for sure the Ferguson manager style. Let's see he can survive at Ronaldo.

After all, he only has to outlive Ronaldo as coach for half a year Cheesy After that, by all accounts, Rangnick will be a top consultant for the club for two years. I think that was the original intention of ManU. Since they need a coach now, they have also hired him as an interim coach. Rangnick is certainly not as well known internationally, but he is very well connected. After all, it was he who made the Red Bull clubs so successful worldwide in the background and developed them into a money machine.
874  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's more important: good marketing or technology? on: November 24, 2021, 09:02:26 PM
It's actually very simple. In short-term good marketing, in long-term good technology. You actually need both. Without marketing you can have great technology but if nobody is aware of the project will stay below the line. Without technology you can be not successful long-term. Over the years, there were many projects which had great marketing and poor technology and no one of those has been stayed in the top 100 for long time.
875  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- Group Stage! on: November 24, 2021, 08:51:01 PM
I'm surprised how bad Dortmund plays against Sporting and how well Leipzig plays against Bruges. The results are correspondingly: Dortmund is back 0-2 at half-time and Leizpig leads 3-0. Real Madrid is having a hard time against Sheriff and only just leads 1-0. Sheriff had two three good attacks that they have not played consistently to the end. If they would do that, they could surprise us again.
The match I'm most disappointed with at the moment is PSG against ManCity. It is lacking "drive", which would be expected for a top game like this.
876  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- Group Stage! on: November 23, 2021, 01:53:42 PM
Correct, Juventus has been qualified already to the Play-Off stage but I do not think they will let Chelsea win the game easily to take the 1st position. I think Juventus will play defensively and try to maximize counter attack strategy. Regarding Dybala, seems that he is recovered and ready to play but I dont think Allegri will force him to play (full time) and maybe he will start from the bench.

It's hard to say. On the one hand, Juve needs to focus on the next top league match against Atalanta Bergamo to not lose touch with ranks which are qualifies for the CL or even Euro League.
Thus, one could assume that they might not take the match quite so seriously. On the other hand, Juve has no interest in falling back to second place, because otherwise much tougher opponents await them in the next round than if they were to finish first.
877  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: November 23, 2021, 01:49:25 PM
Wow this new speculation many people predict Zidane must have accepted Manchester's offer but the fact is wrong he prefers PSG
Mauricio Pochettino may be a second choice but not for this season the issue he can join next season

I wouldn't rule out Jose Mourinho as a coach either. He is still under contract with AS Roma, but there is massive criticism of him and success is also lacking. The new investor has big plans for AS Roma, but currently the club is 10 points behind league leader SSC Napoli and just 1 point away from being knocked out of the European Cup places. Should Roma lose to FC Torino in their next match, it is likely that Mourinho will be fired and then the way would be clear for Manchester United.
Neither Zidane (who doesn't know English football), nor Pochettino and Rangnik I think would be good deals for ManUnited's current situation.

Shimmer Genesis NFTs are for the early risk adopters in our ecosystem willing to explore the unique ways in which NFTs will empower the community. The NFTs will be tiered into Gold, Silver and Bronze, priced at different levels and limited amounts. Unlike your standard jpeg, Shimmer Genesis NFTs carry a powerful staking boost (to be decided by community)

HODL Genesis NFT + stake Shimmer tokens = More staking rewards.

880  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador has become the first country to make #Bitcoin legal tender! 🇸🇻 on: November 21, 2021, 08:22:04 PM
The one billion USD will certainly come together quickly. But to build all the infrastructure, much more will have to be invested if they just want o build a city and not just a village. According to Bukele, the first bond for the city's incorporation will be issued next year.  I'm curious to see whether the idea will even be pursued by then. The resistance from abroad will certainly be immense.
