701  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Has Bitcoin Helped Create Big Changes In Your Life? on: August 23, 2023, 09:19:42 PM
Please do not assume I am asking if "you got really rich from BTC". For example, has Bitcoin/Crypto changed the way you shop, or earn weekly income? Has BTC helped you feel more optimistic and excited about the future? etc. I am getting started late compared to many others, but I see many great days ahead. Thanks for being here at the forum!

Has Bitcoin Helped Create Big Changes In Your Life?
No doubt bitcoin has been a life changer for me. After I have gained knowledge from bitcoin, my perspective in life started to improve especially when it comes to finances. I started learning how to value bitcoin more than fiat, because I know already that bitcoin has even more great potentials than fiat. And from there, I never stopped learning until I develop my skills and strategies when it comes to bitcoin investing and trading. After a couple of years, here I am now starting to realize my goals and finally, my finances have been more stable. Thanks to bitcoin for the present opportunities, and still excited what my future holds especially with the future opportunities coming from bitcoin.
702  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 - Betting and Discussions on: August 23, 2023, 02:40:04 PM
unfortunately, there's no live streaming available for this game. It appears to be a closed-door game once again.
Was it for most of the teams that are having tune up games that there's no way to watch a stream? I think there's a definite reason why they're keeping it closed doors so that these practice or tune up games are well protected and kept private in preparation for their actual games soon.

These teams are trying to figure out their playing styles, team chemistry and looking for their bad habits. So they are not exposing their games to the public. Otherwise, the rest of the teams especially their team group mates will have their own staff assessing it and will identify their strengths and weaknesses.

Anyways, just two more days before the official start. I'm looking forward to the opening game between betting favorites Australia against Finland. Looking forward to Lauri Markkanen and his gang pulling an upset against the Aussies who will compete with a lot of NBA players.

Finland is a huge underdog with odds of 5.25 and an Asian Handicap of +9.5. Taking the moneyline odds is quite attractive if you truly believe that an upset could happen here. Although Australia boasts many NBA players, this is a world cup, and every game matters. Chemistry will play a significant role in this match.

Personally, I would consider betting live, as I have a feeling that Finland might be competitive in the early quarters but could falter in the second half. So, I'm considering either -5.5 or the moneyline if the odds are favorable for Australia.

By the way, @AHOYBRAUSE and btc_angela, nice conversation you have there. It clearly shows that you really know about the history of basketball in your country.
703  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do star players affect the odds of a match bet? on: August 23, 2023, 01:56:15 PM
People would easily recognize a star player more than a team, so yes, it would affect the odds. For example, in the NBA, if the Nuggets are the best team and Jokic is their star player, if he is not going to play, that will result in a significant odds adjustment. So, sometimes it's wise to not bet early because there are times when star players are announced as out just minutes before the game.

Furthermore, the reality in sports betting is that when a team is very popular, it's likely to be overvalued by the oddsmakers. This is the reason why gamblers often lose in the long run if they blindly bet on the popular teams.
704  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN: Give people time! on: August 22, 2023, 09:31:04 PM

What do you think about this?

That's right, we just share bitcoins with them and give them some time to think about it, don't make them invest right away. It will make them feel like we are trying to scam them and they won't feel comfortable if forced. That just makes them hate bitcoin more than care about it.

For us bitcoin is no longer a new asset but for many it is still a very new asset so it takes time for them to adapt and accept it. Furthermore, as you also said, the fact that we spend a lot of time educating someone about bitcoin does not guarantee that they will be interested in bitcoin. So don't waste your time and give them time to realize it all.
Always give people the time they deserved. Whether they want to take intensive research on it first before they can decide to invest, or it’s just they will never like the idea of bitcoin no matter what, so atleast they’re given enough time to think about it. Bitcoin is not a necessity that everyone should know and invest, but it will give a great advantage in our lives if we include bitcoin as one of our investments. However, we all have different mindset when it comes to bitcoin, while others see it very profitable and useful, some also see it useless and just another tool to scam people, that’s why one should not be force to invest in bitcoin. Let them think of it a lot of times, until they will come up with a conclusion that they won’t be regretting in the end.
705  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou Boxing October 28 on: August 22, 2023, 12:50:42 PM
He looks out of shape, judging by the picture shared, but it doesn't matter as he has already proven that he is the best in the heavyweight division. When he defeated Wilder, he solidified his legacy in the division he currently reigns over. So, even if he does not look as intimidating with that body, I have no doubt he can still be the best once he steps into the ring.

Judging from this picture he is probably confident to easily beat his opponent and he thinks he won't need intense training at all. Well, that's their own perception about this fight but I'm sure Ngannou will not gonna be like that ever since this fight is his revenge for the UFC and to prove to them his worth and skills. I guess this won't be his body shape when he comes to fight Ngannou because it won't be good for him to lose either because he has some clean records anyway unless he doesn't care about it anymore.
We can count on Fury, as he definitely knows what he is doing. He is the champion, and I'm sure he won't come unprepared. Ngannou, the opponent, is a KO artist, so Fury cannot be too complacent, even though this bout will be held in his favorite sport, which is boxing.

Anyway, it's still a bit early; we have 2 months left, and I think that's ample time to prepare and trim down a bit to be physically fit for the fight.
706  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: August 22, 2023, 11:38:37 AM
I think these bigs are enough to slow down KAT. They do not necessarily need to totally stop him. They just need to slow him down and force mistakes and awkward shots. Individually, they will not slow down KAT but if a system is in place to counter KAT, then there is a possibility they can contain him.

Against Canada and Spain, KAT had a good percentage on the field goal so the opponent forced him to give up the ball to his teammates particularly on the corner where we can afford them taking rather than KAT taking the 3's or driving down the lane which could cause foul trouble on our bigs especially Junemar whom i think is a bit slow to guard KAT.

I think we have the chance to win against DR if we can limit KAT's offensive output, let his teammates beat the Gilas not him terrorizing the paint and dominate the middle for that high percentage shots.
In my opinion, there should be 2 bigs playing together for Gilas. One to guard KAT, and the other one should be waiting in the paint. This way, if KAT slips past his primary defender, there's still a big man who could defend him. The only big man who could potentially limit KAT in the paint is JMF. So maybe JMF and Sotto, or JMF and Edu, will be playing together for a good combination.

However, this is just my opinion. KAT is an NBA-caliber player, and he likely has many skills that we may not have seen yet.

BTW, Gilas lost to Mexico by 7 points, 84-77, Jordan Clarkson didn't play as he was rested but Gilas management assured fans that he is okay and good to go on the weekend.

Not so disappointing, in fact, by the looks of it, it seemed like we could really beat Mexico if Clarkson was present.
707  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crawford vs Canelo-Charlo winner (no date yet) on: August 21, 2023, 02:29:19 PM
If it happens two years from now when Canelo is in the twilight of his career then I'll go for Crawford but if this happens in May of next year then no doubt I'll go for Canelo as Crawford is just too small for him, I mean he needs at least 2-3 fight to prove his worth on the 168lbs division. I think he is just calling Canelo as this is a money fight for him of the latter took the bait.
He mentioned that Canelo's height is only 5′ 8″, which means he isn't exceptionally tall. Similarly, Crawford is also 5′ 8″. Considering this, there's potential for a compelling matchup between the two if Crawford undergoes effective training to develop his physique. While financial gain is undoubtedly a top priority for renowned boxers nowadays, let's admit it, we also have a strong desire to witness a showdown between Canelo and Crawford before either of them considers retiring.

Being small in boxing isn't about height but rather it's the weight does matter.

Currently, Crawford is too small for Canelo and I called this a mismatch. I agree, if that fight between Canelo and Crawford happened instead 2 years from now, Crawford might already catch up with Canelo with weight. I don't know what's the reason for Crawford changing his mind as before he ruled out fighting at over 154 lbs as he knows it's risky for him.

Anyways, the fight is just a speculation and we don't know what will happen next. What if Jermell won instead? There will be a change right away in the supposed roadmap of these boxers. For now, after being an undisputed champion, Crawford should think twice before risking another fight on his career.

I don't want to jump to conclusions either, as anything can happen. Just like when Pacman moved up in weight and was doubted, he ended up dominating. So, in this fight, the same unpredictability applies. Based on interviews, Crawford appears very confident that he can win. What's interesting is that people's speculations are evenly split. It's understandable since both fighters are great and still in their prime. Their upcoming match in the ring is sure to be a fireworks show.

The most exciting aspect is that both fighters stand to earn an immense amount of money, given that this fight is expected to be a blockbuster.
708  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbies say no to Trading. on: August 19, 2023, 04:44:59 PM
I agree that newbie should shy away from actual trading but can start learning trading to use of demo accounts.  Trading if mastered is better than just holding and getting your coins idle.  Trading can increase our portfolio without spending additional funds to buy new Bitcoins to include in our portfolio.  Trading although a hard task, can be learn and possibly mastered.  It takes time though.

So I agree that beginners must not jump automatically to trading, if we want to make trading to increase our portfolio we mus allocate time to learn it and understand the all things of trading.  Practice with demo accounts and when we think we have learned the needed skills then it is time to test them on actual trading.
Yes. Newbies should never jump into actual trading unless they have gained years of experience from trading scenarios. Not only they will ruin and damage their trades but they will also increase the risk to lose from their hard-earned capital. Trading should never be done randomly just like gambling, but with crucial skills and expertise as trading is more than just gaining knowledge but also requires the ability to focus and concentrate especially in a market that’s full of unpredicted events. Although newbies may always chose to learn trading, but should never compel just to gain immediate profits.
709  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it worth it to teach older people about bitcoin technology? on: August 19, 2023, 03:58:00 PM
Bitcoin has captured the center of attention, especially with the younger generations showing keen interest in it. Yet, there are those who believe that teaching older individuals about it might not be a wise investment of time. However, we must ponder: does it carry value? This conversation revolves around the question of whether it's worthwhile to educate older generations about bitcoin.
I believe bitcoin is for everyone, although not all of them are capable to make it work and be successful. So it’s an edge if you are teaching those who show eager interest in the first place, particularly those who are very open on the newest technology that brings new innovations to the lives of the people. However, I don’t say that the older people are exempted for that. As long as they remain motivated to adopt new things and learn from it, then they should be given priority to be taught about bitcoin. After all, age does not matter in bitcoin, what matters more is how you comprehend to it and embrace it for good. And I don’t think older people are hard to teach about the basics of bitcoin. Learning will always be possible if there is passion and dedication to grasp the idea of bitcoin.
710  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: When Trading becomes Unfavourable on: August 19, 2023, 03:25:19 PM
There are few factors that leads to unfavourable trading, these factors includes Greed, and chasing a trend, Traders are expected to encounter Challenges during trading and relating these challenges with people's experiences can be the key in solving the challenge,
Sticking to the trading plan is also good to avoid unfavourable trade as changing plans in the middle of a trade Can really lead to a loss in trade.

No matter how experience you are in trading, the market is always the master. Even sticking to the trading plan isn’t perfect either, because there are unpredictable things that would happen without warning.

Even pro traders out there are getting liquidated in their positions too. Whatever technical analysis, predictions and insights that they have, they cannot outsmart the market.

Risk management is always the best skill that we need in unpredictable situations in the crypto space.
You are right there. That’s why there are unstoppable losses in trading because it’s hard to take an edge over the market because of how unpredictable it is, regardless if you are an experienced trader or not. With that realization, even sticking to your original trading plan may not guarantee that your trades will become successful. Furthermore, no matter how your trades look perfect, but as long as the market condition will never favor your trades, then you will never achieve the goal that you have set. If you want to trade successfully, do not trade just because you think it’s the right thing to do, but because you understand the market’s condition and you know exactly when it will be profitable to trade.
711  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Regis Prograis vs Devin Haney on: August 19, 2023, 12:28:28 PM
This match was already floated much earlier. The date was supposed to be August 1, 2023, but there were disagreements. This might still push through on a later date nonetheless.

Anyway, I voted for Haney's victory by way of decision. He should win this. As a matter of fact, he should even knock out Prograis. Prograis is 10 years Haney's senior. Haney is at the peak of his career right now. Despite Prograis' high knockout ratio, Haney's fighting style and athleticism could very easily defend that. And with a significant reach advantage, Haney could easily keep Prograis at bay with a jab or two.

Despite Prograis' less than sterling boxing resume though, I'd still want him to win.

But if you look at Haney's record, his last KO win was 2019 against Antonio Moran. So after that all of his wins are in decision, or in the hands of the judges. So it's hard to see how he can knockout a champion in Regis Prograis. He took the best of this division in Josh Taylor to a SD loss.

And it's obvious that Regis has more power and Haney chin is not that good in my opinion. He even buckled his legs when Loma hit him in their last fight.

However, we will have to see whether this fight is going to happen or not since there is some issues with the money split here.

From my perspective, Haney seems to be approaching his fights more cautiously. He seems to prefer winning via the judges' scorecards rather than trying to knock out his opponent, especially when he knows he's leading in the scorecards. If we examine Haney's record after his KO victory, we see that all his wins have been via unanimous decisions. So, I suppose there's no need to alter his strategy if it guarantees him a victory. While I acknowledge he's the challenger, if he manages to make the champion appear inexperienced, there will be no controversy surrounding his win.
712  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - November on: August 19, 2023, 11:25:57 AM
And perhaps Arum wanted Inoue to fight not just in the Japan but in the US as well and fought Americans, Mexicans and other great nations in terms of boxing before we can tell if he will come closer to the achievement of Pacman and become a legend of his own generation.
He's still far from that tough but Arum could shape him up close to him or if he'll be able to surpass Pacquiao, we'll see that as there's still a long path for his career.

Maybe Floyd is just giving his advise to Inoue? Everyone of us wanted to see him fight in the US for sure as it is the mecca of boxing.
Money is just talking about money and that's for Inoue. I agree that if Inoue wants more bucks and share for this fight, that's all he need to agree with and that's to fight in Vegas or anywhere in the US where the demand for the tickets will be sold out together with the PPV. I don't see anything wrong with that because with such events in boxing, it's true that it's the center of boxing and too many athletes want to take the spotlight by going there and having a match. As for Inoue, he's the main event and that's normal for him at his level now to be at the center of attraction if he's going to jump to another weigh class.

Yes, maybe Arum has the perfect plan for Inoue, he is known to do that, he has one use case in Manny wherein he turn him into a house hold name and one of the biggest boxers in history and now considered a legend.

As for Floyd, that's just his opinion though, as he is no longer in boxing, maybe just another opinion that does or doesn't matter, depending on who is going to hear that. But let's see if Inoue will realized that he needs Tapales more than any other fighter at 122 lbs for unification fight.

Floyd is advising Inoue to fight in the US, where Floyd himself was hesitant to fight outside the country to ensure that the referees and judges were in his favor. If Inoue chooses to fight in Japan, then they would be no different from Floyd, as both of them would be avoiding risks.

The only distinction between the two is that Floyd is known for being a dull fighter, while Inoue is an engaging one. I wouldn't be surprised if Inoue retires undefeated, and people will always value him for being an entertaining fighter. It's safe to say they get their money's worth every time they watch his fights.
713  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: August 19, 2023, 08:41:36 AM
These 3 teams that Gilas will face in the tune-up games are NOTHING compared to the teams they will face on the official bracket.

I've read somewhere that they chose these three teams to simulate the kind of play in their region/places. Like for example, they will face the Dominican Republic so they choose Mexico for them to acquaint themselves more with the Latin brand of basketball, i think i have said this in my previous post. I think they will try to dissect the system of play of their tune-up opponents hoping that this will bring similarities on their actual opponent in the FIBA World Cup 23.

But I agree with you that this kind of easy game should not be the basis of choosing the final 12 but I think also that even before these games they already have in mind on who will be cut.

It's great that we won in a tune-up game, but it's true that in the actual game, especially against the Dominican Republic, I'm not sure if we stand a chance. Just recently, the Dominican Republic defeated Canada in a tune-up game. Considering Canada is a top 10 team in the FIBA World Cup, this highlights the strength of the Dominican Republic's team. While we might be excited about our victory in a tune-up game, we need to realize that it's just the beginning. The true test will come in the first game of the FIBA World Cup on August 25.
714  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: We're all the same! on: August 18, 2023, 09:54:00 PM
Because as a human being, we share the same goal and that we also fall doing the same thing just to make it happen. While we can’t be as highly profitable as it is, but the importance here is not actually to keep in profits but  to lessen or limit our losses as long as we can. So at times we become highly profitable, while at some point we are also susceptible to losses, and that’s how life as it is.
715  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is all what they say about bitcoin true? on: August 18, 2023, 09:28:18 PM
As a newbie on this forum, for some days now I have been going through threads, reading and trying to understand and getting better knowledge on every single one of them
In a thread someone said "Bitcoin is not all about happiness" can a little more light be thrown on this?
At times it could be the source of our endless profits, but definitely it has also its negative side that we are all scared to happen. The volatility of the market makes it more susceptible to speed up its price increase and at the same time, it’s also bound to reach its lowest point with how the market moves in a very bad shape most particularly when the market is in deep bearish. However, know that the bearish market creates the best opportunities in bitcoin, it could be the best entry in our bitcoin investment that most of us here are seeing it the other way around.
716  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Next Bitcoin Bull Run: Is It Tied to the Next Halving? on: August 18, 2023, 08:58:04 PM
Even if I would say it’s not but for the past bull runs, they actually happened after every bitcoin halving so perhaps bitcoin bull run is really tied to its bitcoin halving. The exact reason why we should never miss to prepare our bitcoin portfolio for the next bull run that is bound to happen hopefully by 2025 after the expected bitcoin halving next year. This time, bitcoin price is expected to reach its new all time high and should exceed the btc price of $68k. Seeing bitcoin price is moving positively, then hopefully it will end up with a new 6 digit price that everyone is waiting for.
717  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Wagering requirements for withdraw on: August 18, 2023, 02:39:54 PM
~snip~
When reading the TOS of a casino we can find all kind of confusing terms and legal talk that we may not understand, so it is important that if we do not understand something we contact the customer support and we ask for a clarification about what those terms mean.

As it is easy to give a personal interpretation to one rule and then this rule is interpreted by the casino in a completely different manner and we may feel that is unfair when in fact we are the ones in the wrong.
If you don't understand those terms, you can contact the support service, and that's what we have to do to understand the rules written there. And even if you can't understand everything yet, you can stay in the casino until you understand it while gambling there.

Make sure to understand the intention of the casino in providing these regulations. And because of that, there is a support service always ready to help users who have difficulty translating the casino's wishes written in the rules.

Don't rely solely on what the support team tells you. It's important to verify information from other reliable sources. Since this primarily concerns laws and regulations, it's necessary to search for those specific laws and try to comprehend the implementing guidelines. This way, we can achieve a clearer understanding. At times, the support might not provide intricate details, as they typically base their responses on their Terms of Service. However, in reality, their TOS should align with regulations. To obtain comprehensive information, it's advisable to refer directly to the regulatory guidelines.
718  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: August 18, 2023, 01:48:05 PM
Congratulations to Gilas Pilipinas! I received an update from a Facebook group.

The final score was Gilas Pilipinas - 85, Ivory Coast - 62. That's a complete domination by our team. Now, what I'm interested to know is who led that win and the individual performances of the players. This is a promising start—only 2 more games to go. If we can secure victories in the remaining two matches, people might cease criticizing the Gilas lineup and instead have confidence that our team will emerge victorious.
719  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Passive income with crypto on: August 17, 2023, 09:21:58 PM
Hey guys! I've been in crypto for a while but since it's bear market I'm curious: are there any services where you can earn passive income in crypto, except lending?
If you know, share your experience, please.

Hard to find passive income generating platform since most of the time only scam platform as just showing up. I don't know if staking is good option but you can try the suggestions posted to know for yourself if its really worh it. Also don't think about passive thing on crypto but rather on  learning new things on crypto and try to earn on each ideas you read then apply it. Also be careful on people offering big profits since this is much unrealistic and this is just used by scammers.
If you have sufficient amount of crypto, you can do staking and crypto lending as well. Those were probably the most known that generate passive income. If they work for you, then good. But never close your mind from learning new insights in the forum. That way, while you are enjoying your passive means of income, at least you are also learning the process on how to gain through active means of income in the crypto. Investing is a good start, but always do it after you have acquired prior knowledge and understanding on the risks associated in crypto investment.
720  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Chase to control the market! on: August 17, 2023, 08:43:17 PM
I have been in crypto for more than 5 years and i have seen a lot of incidents within the industry. There was a time when government and even a lot of people call Bitcoin a scam or a scammer currency. Many thought that only hacker scammers use Bitcoin for money laundering, drug dealing etc. But now the situation has changed and it's good to see how institution chasing each other to not be late to join the industry. The situation is so intense that now what matter most is who will control the market. In the current situation, it seems, no one wants to be the last one to jump over space.
Change is inevitable. If before bitcoin was accused as a tool for scams and other forms of fraudulence, right now bitcoin is already seen as a tool for profits and prosperity. That’s why it’s not surprising that those different financial institutions have been in a race to get in touch with bitcoin and when they have finally owned some of it, the challenge to make them financially profitable have begun. While it’s easy on the eyes of other people to be in profits with bitcoin, but in reality it’s not. And the fact that no one’s capable to access the market and take its full control, make bitcoin engagement more challenging.
