721  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Anonymity is no longer a benefit of gambling with cryptocurrency. on: August 17, 2023, 02:34:00 PM
Both crypto casino and regular online casino still give us anonymity from the general public knowing that we're into gambling.

That's not the point, and that's not the kind of anonymity we are seeking.

Privacy and anonymity are two different things. When a casino is regulated, you can only achieve privacy, as it's their responsibility to keep your information confidential and share it with their regulators only when necessary. On the other hand, with anonymity, we can enjoy complete freedom. Gambling sites that cater to gamblers have no knowledge of who we are, ensuring that our gambling activities remain unknown. This means that nobody would know we are gambling or where our money is coming from if we win. Additionally, if we were involved in illegal activities, particularly money laundering, we could operate freely without being caught.

What is your opinion on the Dominican Republic's chances? I'm considering placing a bet on this team.
They're strong, some may underestimate them but they've got a chance to win with those line ups that they've got for their schedules. If you want to put a bet on them, you should and it's up to you which team you'll want to bet. This isn't just all about the support but of course money's on the line so choose what you think have the chance of winning consider also the odds.

According to the OP, the odds for the Dominican Republic to win was x81. However, this was before the announcement of KAT. Probably the odds has already been reduced now, but I still think it's a very attractive odds.

Before the news about Murray being ruled out, the odds were 4.75, so it's likely that those odds will increase now that the bad news has been released. There are lots of opportunities, as some teams probably have not announced their final 12 yet. Additionally, the issue of injuries cannot be neglected, as it could happen before the actual competition. Therefore, following the news would provide us with early insights that could impact our betting decisions.
723  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: August 16, 2023, 02:37:18 PM
Sure that many will be watching these friendly games as this will be the first time that Jordan Clarkson and Kai Sotto will be playing and I think they can beat two of the three so I'm intrigued by how the bookies look at these games.
I've noticed some betting odds already available for upcoming friendlies that will take place in less than 24 hours.

Serbia vs Puerto Rico in 2 hours.
Australia vs South Sudan in 19 hours.
Japan vs France in 19 hours.
Egypt vs Lebanon in a day. (ex)

So, it's safe to assume that we will see those betting odds once the schedule is nearing, precisely 1 day away.

Regarding Sotto and Clarkson, yes, they should be fun to watch. I'm hopeful that we'll witness numerous alley-oop assists from Clarkson, as the Jazz have bigger players who excel in generating points through that style.
724  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - November on: August 16, 2023, 01:38:30 PM
If that fight will happen, I would surely bet towards Casimero and not Tapales because I believe he can do a good job against Inoue if both of them will be the ones who will face for the unification. Not to underestimate Tapales but I don't really think that he stand a chance against the moster, Naoya Inoue. Might be harsh though but that is the truth and people will be more interested on that instead of the match-up we have now.

This scenario could offer favorable odds, given that Casimero is the challenger. I'm confident that many will place their bets on Casimero, even though Tapales is the one defending his belt. It's quite an intriguing situation, one that might not have arisen if negotiations for a mega fight in the super bantamweight hadn't encountered issues. However, let's view this as a blessing in disguise for Casimero, as he's always desired to face Inoue. He likely realizes that becoming the champion could make arranging that fight with Inoue much easier.

Just imagine the potential headline: Casimero vs. Inoue – a more significant spectacle than Tapales vs. Inoue, especially considering that the former was relatively unknown before his significant upset win.
725  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What should we see bitcoin as? on: August 15, 2023, 09:36:14 PM
Bitcoin the only decentralised cryptocurrency that is dependable and guaranteed return on investment which is undeniably the truth about it.

Bitcoin as a source of income or as an investment plan, which is better?
(It has many advantages and disadvantages, but advantages superceeds the disadvantages). Putting the disadvantages into consideration and as a person that want to lower their risk of loss, will bitcoin be suitable as a source of income (not fully, like part-time job), or investing fully in them and wait for a large profit since many users here in the forum foresee it that, at halving the price always go up above the current All time high.
It could be both. Bitcoin can be a source of income but more likely like a side hustle, and it could be an investment plan too as a lot of us here are profiting from bitcoin investment especially if it’s a long term investment. However, for beginners it’s hard to expect that bitcoin will do the same thing. Gain knowledge and experience first before you can say that bitcoin is way more profitable as a source of income and as a long term investment.
726  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How much should I invest in cryptocurrency as a beginner on: August 15, 2023, 08:00:00 PM
3. Evaluate your financial situation: Evaluate your current financial situation, including your income, expenses, debts, and savings. Determine how much you can invest without affecting your other financial obligations.
This is where we're telling that people should only invest what they afford to lose. Because when someone's too hype, they're forgetting things like those savings that they've got that are allocated for other things and the debts that they have to pay first before investing.
Other thinks that it's okay to have a debt while they're invested. They don't realize that they're just getting something from their investments which they're also going to pay to their debts.
In any type of investment, one should always consider his financial condition first before he takes another risk in losing his money. So if you think you’re not yet capable to invest and lose, then it’s better to delay your investment plan. Otherwise, taking a debt is a clear manifestation that you are already losing before you make profits in your investment. Investing will be more successful if you have patience and the right attitude towards on it, and not just because of your greed to chase more of uncertain profits.
727  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 15, 2023, 01:13:42 PM
Per report, Nate Diaz earns 20 million USD on his fight with Jake Paul, bigger that his whole earning in the UFC (some said bu t i don't if true) so this rematch will take place and it will be good if it happens in a Mix Martial Arts arena which i think Diaz could avenge his defeat on Paul. Even if the promoter offer half of what he earned on his fight with Jake Paul, I think Diaz will not hesitate to agree.

Well, that's hard to be turned down the offer if you were fighting in the UFC and earned just a chunk from that amount because other players are training intensively just to win and get some cash that is not even close to that amount and you will get some offer that requires only some little amount of effort inside the ring. That's why lots of UFC fighters will just take Jake Paul's offer because of the money they could possibly get and there's no wrong with this since we know that WWE fighters also make money with this method as well.

I agree to that, more on how much they will take on their paycheck wherever it is if money speaks well I think fighters will take that without hesitations, in the brighter side, Paul's exhibitions fight gives a decent amount of profits to those legends who accepted the challenge, they are being compensated well for that short time training and short time fight inside the ring.

Even we all know that the match between the fighters mostly has a good edge in favor of Paul, but the compensation is very well being taken care of and really makes it out decently.

It's hard not to notice that. The exhibition fight is somewhat like their biggest paycheck, just as Nate reportedly earned $20 million in his fight against Paul. So, I'm sure other popular retired UFC fighters might consider fighting Jake Paul.

The thing is, it's a win-win for both parties. Jake Paul will continue to preserve his good record, and the fight would be able to generate more money. I think he won't change that trend unless there's a substantial offer for him to fight a legitimate boxer again, someone who might challenge his skills effectively.
728  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 15, 2023, 12:29:34 PM
He's just underrated.

Sadly, there are players that have been at the top of fans preference and that's why they're more getting recognition. They're talking about title's and what, while some are getting the huge contracts despite not even touching a finals game.

And if it's about title, no doubt that Kawhi did it without that much of a superstar roster for his last or most recent title still, he's able to count on that roster that he's been with.

Crazy how one play against a dirty player seemingly derailed Kawhi from what an amazing career. Not to say he hasn’t had one, but he was certainly cut down right before his prime by a dirty close out. At least the NBA addressed the issue with a rule change, but you have to wonder how good Kawhi could have been.
Those dirty moves against him did really a lot to his career and you're right that it could have been better without it.

Yet, he still got the titles and he's still doing good as of now, at least IMO.

I could think of Westbrook just as him, with the little contract that he had accepted. Yes, his plays won't change but the look and view on him by everyone will surely changed.

Well, we can't turn back time; let's just accept what happened to him in the past. What matters is he is still in the NBA and still playing. Personally, I don't think Leonard's career will end up like Westbrook's, because judging by his stats (https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/l/leonaka01.html), the consistency is still present. So even if he gets traded or his contract expires, I'm pretty sure there are still teams that would be willing to give him a good contract.

Have you forgotten about Paul George's injury? I think his injuries were far worse than Leonard's, but look where he is now. He is still playing like a true star.
729  Economy / Economics / Re: Would you rather start/grow a business from scratch or buy an existing business? on: August 12, 2023, 06:46:52 PM
building from scratch is difficult, buying might be one way to fastly get some stand meanwhile you also learn in the process.
but then again it depends on whether you got a good deal or not, after all with business even if you start from scratch, if you are really talented in the field and offer your services or products out of the fact that its
truly products or services that could solve current problems society is having then its more likely that you will succeeds, but then again it honestly depends on you.
i'd say if there is some business thats currently gaining profits being sold at relatively low prices don't miss that chances.
True. Running a new business is never easy. You could have all the talent and skills, but that won’t guarantee your business success. There are still more important factors to consider aside from that, so instead of struggling to achieve that, it’s better to buy an existing business that is still in profits and would continue to gain profits with proper management. The price may be costly but you’ll definitely recover your capital faster than you expected. However, for some business enthusiasts, they also have different mindset about that. They’ll prefer to create their new business and establish their new brand especially if they want to stay unique from their business competitors.
730  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Came back from long haitus on: August 12, 2023, 05:59:51 PM
I came back here on Bitcointalk from a very long hiatus due to personal reasons. I wanted to start offering again my services such as participating in signature campaigns but I don't know where to start. Can some tell me what are the current qualifications to join some campaign and how/where to get them? Any help will be appreciated. Thank you in advance!
Make high quality posts, that will guarantee you to be accepted in any campaign. As long as you don’t have negative trust in the past, and you don’t have spamming history, then you’re good to go. But before that, be active first in the forum and engage in the discussion whenever you have meaningful insights to share. Once you apply for a campaign, provided that you have acquired required number of merits, then the campaign manager will have no reason not to hire you.
731  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Banks offering investing in Bitcoin on: August 12, 2023, 05:32:13 PM
This is definitely good news. But the government always tries to stay one step ahead of its citizens. Governments do not have accurate data on crypto users due to the inability to invest in the crypto market using banks, resulting in no restrictions being imposed on those crypto investors. Now when crypto users invest in crypto markets using bank accounts, the government will have that investor's information and see how they can be taxed. On the other hand, investing in crypto through banks means increasing the number of investors in the crypto market. Which is definitely good for the crypto market.

I hope that the bank will treat crypto users well and not bother crypto users by keeping the various rules and regulations in place.
When the government decided to accept bitcoin in the banks, first and foremost, investors should be aware that the whole bitcoin investment scenario will be a lot different. Anonymity will never be given emphasis anymore, and that banks personnel will now impose KYC strictly leading them to have an access on our bitcoin account. That may be quite unfair for us but what else can we do, that’s part of global crypto adoption. So instead of regretting, maybe let’s just be grateful and accept the reality that banks will never be obsolete and that they will still be part of crypto adoption. However, this is also a good thing because the number of crypto users and investors will surely create a speed increase.
732  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - November on: August 12, 2023, 09:57:38 AM
Let's say Marlon Tapales really developed and improved his speed, expect that the same goes for Naoya Inoue.

Surpassing Inoue at almost the entire of the Japanese monster advantages is really tough. We can't expect a big development for Tapales within just several months as to surpass Inoue at anything, it needs boxing experience. Beating Inoue though will really bring something big for Tapales. I hope that will be the reason for Tapales to fuel his determination to win.

For me, not being a bullsh*t here but I really don't see a way how Tapales will beat Naoya Inoue. It's not the same as Pacquiao being the heavy underdog during their fight against the prime Marco Antonio Barrera. But still, I will support my countrymen here and expect that something special will happened in their fight.

This fight is for Inoue no matter how good or bad Tapales is. The thing here is that Tapales should be compensated the right amount for being the holder of the two belts as Inoue won't be a unified champion if he won't fight Tapales or the latter will fought another boxer so the dream of Inoue to be a 2-division unified champion will take some time or may not happen anymore.

That's right, Tapales earned that by winning the championship, so he deserves to have a good payday in an undisputed boxing match. It's not just about the money; it's mostly about pride. No boxer who is already a champion and holds 2 belts would accept a very low purse. I stand by Tapales' decision here; it's not about who the more popular boxer is, but rather the worth of their current titles.

If Inoue does not agree to Tapales' demand, then the undisputed fight won't happen, resulting in both of them missing out on a good earning opportunity. There haven't been any developments yet about the news, but hopefully, they'll provide an update soon because the fight is expected to take place this year.
733  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Rodriguez vs Lopez - vacant IBF bantamweight (Aug. 13) on: August 12, 2023, 09:26:02 AM
And if we go with the rankings of this organization as well, I might say that IBF titles are just the last belt as far as reputation goes. I mean before the 4 belt era, we only have the WBC and the WBA belts around. And then WBO and IBF pop up if I'm not mistaken.

With that, if you look at their rank players, a few of them are relatively unknown just like Melvin Lopez is. And so I'm not surprised even if he has this sort of 8 fight winning streak against fighters that have a losing record, he is still their second best fighter.

I believe Inoue has significantly impacted the bantamweight division since becoming an undisputed champion. It's possible that some boxers have moved up in weight to avoid facing Inoue, leaving those who aren't as popular or exciting to watch. In my opinion, the current champions in this division are not even close to Inoue or Casimero in terms of skills.

I understand why some might feel frustrated that an unknown boxer has been given a chance at a championship fight.
734  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: As an undergraduate, is it advisable to invest my trustfund in Bitcoin? on: August 11, 2023, 09:42:06 PM
Investing is an effective way to build your wealth but never cross the line by putting all your hard-earned savings into bitcoin. You are just increasing its risk, and if by chance you mismanage your investment, your trust fund will vanish like a thin air. My suggestion is, invest at your own risk. Invest at a small amount first and when you see chances of growth, then start increasing the size of your investment.
735  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: ~If you must trade~ on: August 11, 2023, 08:48:54 PM
Patience plays the key role to make good profits. But if you lose patience and keep on panicking and complaining, then you increase the overall loss associated with the trades. Emotions do also hamper the trader’s profit margins, but patience is the main reason why traders sell the coins and later those coins grow in their price. If a trader can handle both of them and work really hard on it, then definitely he can see huge changes in his daily profits. I am saying this from my personal experience only.
Indeed. Patience is crucial in trading. Most especially that the crypto market is highly changing, then creating hasty decisions that makes you impatient and totally lose your emotion’s control, will definitely put your trades into frustration. I believe real traders can relate to this. Because being a trader should not only focus on the results, but should also give high attention to its process.
736  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Rodriguez vs Lopez - vacant IBF bantamweight (Aug. 13) on: August 11, 2023, 02:08:00 PM
Lopez is almost 6:1 underdog is this fight.
What am I missing here? I don't know either boxer but this is strange to me since Lopez seems to be the stronger and younger fighter of the two. I mean he looks better and has the advantage if you compare their records. Is he coming from an injury or something?

Lopez has a 8 winning streak, but Emmanuel Rodriguez just got the win over  Gary Antonio Russell handed him his first defeat on his career.

Most likely sport bookies put Lopez as a huge underdog because he is unknown as far as 118 lbs division is. While Rodriguez has with the best in the division in Inoue but lost that fight. Yes, Lopez has a 8 fight winning streak, but if you look closely at the fighters he fought, they are also unknown and have losing records. It's crazy that he has been giving this kind of opportunity to fight for the belt.

You have explained it well. Rodriguez was a former champion in the bantamweight division, while Lopez hasn't won a championship yet. So, although Lopez is on a winning streak, when we examine the quality of his opponents, it's not as impressive as Rodriguez's opponents, who have already fought champions in the bantamweight division. Inoue is an exception; he lost to the beast. Therefore, I still believe that Rodriguez can reclaim his championship, especially now that Inoue has moved up in weight.

Additionally, there's a reason why Lopez is the heavy underdog, even though he has more wins than Rodriguez. Furthermore, Lopez is not a significant threat, with a low KO rate of only 19 out of 29 fights. This suggests that the more technical boxer will likely win here.
737  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Oscar Valdez vs Emmanuel Navarette - Aug 12 on: August 11, 2023, 01:23:46 PM
But I am voting based on who I'd like to win. Grin I got Navarette stopping Valdez. I believe we haven't seen yet what this new champion can do in this division. He had a bad night in his last fight so he will enter this fight better. I believe he is the stronger guy so he will be the aggressor here. And I'm pretty sure they already know what happened to Miguel Berchelt against Valdez so Navarette will be a little smart with his aggression here and will finally catch Valdez in the mid to late rounds.

Wow, i like your prediction brother, opposite to what i have in my mind. I have Valdez to win by knockout here because no matter what Navarette will do to avoid those bombs, somewhere in the late rounds he will be tired and Valdez will hit him hard and KOed him but i like what you said that Navarette will be a little smarter here to avoid the fate that Berchelt have suffered but i don't think Navarette could hide the full twelve rounds or it may be the other way around, let's see.  Grin

It's good that the predictions are very well divided, based on the current result of the poll.

Quote
Valdez by KO   - 4 (30.8%)
Navarette by KO   - 5 (38.5%)

Navarette is leading by 1 vote. I want to focus on the discussion about the potential knockout (KO) outcome, as both fighters are prepared to deliver an entertaining fight. Either Navarette or Valdez could be knocked out; we never know as they are evenly matched in my opinion. Although it's evident that Valdez is the favorite in the betting odds, these two are warriors in the ring, making it difficult to predict.
738  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Which is more profiting self trade or AI on: August 10, 2023, 09:17:48 PM
Lately, there has been some development here in the integration of AI in trading on some stock assets and cryptocurrencies, and to a large instead, AI has ground in acting and executing trades and recording profits, but it has not been for long so as we can't tell what the success rate will be, but for the fact that the reality on the ground has shown and proven their existence in trading stock, so as that which one will you prefer if AI is proven to be effective.
Will you prefer to trade with AI or you prefer to do the trading yourself?
AI has been making trades easier right now, but as you’ve said it’s still a new thing, so it cannot be reliable and sustainable in the long run. That’s the reason why self-trading is still the most advisable way to trade and be in profits. Besides, you can’t just easily entrust your money simply in a robot and expect to double or triple your capital. The trading market is never certain and is always unpredictable, so it’s hard to anticipate trading with AI will definitely end up in success. Yes at some point it can be profitable, but most of the time self-trading will always be the most reliable method for trading.
739  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou Boxing October 28 on: August 10, 2023, 02:05:00 PM

Imho, the fact that he was a boxer, does not mean he can be a good coach. Punching people is one thing, but seeing everything (opponent) from different angle, building strategy, planning, training is different.

It's different when you have someone in your corner who's been there and have one everything, Mike can impart some of his skill in the ring but of course, Mike Tyson is different from Ngannou, in Mike Tyson's heydays he has no strategy he just goes there and goes for the kill, he believes that everyone has a plan until they get hit, so if Mike can teach how to throw a more powerful punch and hit the target at the right time, Ngannou has a good chance, checking the poll here it's a close one, but we have a long way to go, and there's plenty of time for Mike to teach Ngannou everything he knows.

Tyson   - 19 (54.3%)
Ngannou   - 16 (45.7%)
Draw   - 0 (0%)
Total Voters: 35

The Poll is superhype as there are lots of posters who voted for Ngannou to win when in reality his chance of winning is very slim. As what their betting odds have refelected;

Quote
Favorite   Odds   Underdog   Odds
Tyson Fury   -1,000   Francis Ngannou   +600
https://www.covers.com/boxing/tyson-fury-vs-francis-ngannou-odds

The kind of odds Fury had is an odds that 99% of the time would hit.  Smiley

And if we convert that -1000 to chances, it will reflect 90.9 implied probability.

740  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 10, 2023, 12:41:10 PM
It has always been the core roster management for any team that Lebron has played so far give or take. You get one guy who would be great at rebounding, you get one guy who would be great at defending, and bunch of shooters all around, including bench. That way Lebron can drive inside and either dunk or layup or just pass outside to an open shooter, or Lebron could just straight up shoot when the defense goes deep to defend the drive, he shoots very well at three point line on his later years, and the rebounder will get the rebounds whenever someone misses. The system is always built like this and they have what they need right now. I think they won't be the best team, but if they play right and do not get injured like they always do, they will be fine.

I think when he was with the Lakers, Lebron has a bunch of good 3 point shooters. And even after they have traded most of the championship rosters they have in 2019, they still keep that blue print. However, those outside shooters and defenders didn't click with them and so they have to rebuild everything starting last year with their new coach. And now it seems their focus is trying to get help on AD, that's why they got Hayes or even trying to give Christian Wood a try, if I read it correctly.

The Lakers had their best roster when they secured a championship. Regrettably, they had to disband that team and bring in new players for assistance. However, the new lineup hasn't been able to match the previous team's performance. During their championship run, Dwight Howard and Rondo proved to be valuable teammates, and their playoff experience played a crucial role in achieving that victory. While we can offer our observations and opinions, it's likely that the management saw specific changes that were necessary.

On the contrary, I haven't come across many changes within the Nuggets, who were the champions of the last NBA finals. This sets them apart from the LA Lakers and I have a feeing they are gonna make a repeat.

Lakers don't want that to happen but their players ask to much and there are others need to let go just to get more better roster. But everything goes down with them and they fell in bad position.

But still they are doing great when they accumulate some good players last season and now they can maximize their rosters with their newly great additions. Lakers this season is really great and they have big chance to win a championship.

Perhaps some of the players, but when it comes to Howard, I believe they should not have let him go.

During the 2021-2022 season, Howard's salary with the Lakers exceeded $2 million. After his contract with the Lakers ended, he joined the Taoyuan Leopards, a team in Taiwan, for a salary of $1 million per season. However, recent reports indicate that his salary has been reduced by 65%. The question arises: why would he opt to play overseas when he can earn a substantial income in the NBA?
