Maybe, it's a bit too late for EPL to implement this but finally, it has come.

As per the latest report by romano if EPL will implement semi automated off side technology (SAOT). What do you guys think about this? I think that there will always be many parties who pros and cons. Some said it will affect the viewers' experiences because some people may feel like watching robotics football.

There will always be parties who contradict this, but this also increases the accuracy of determining whether the position was offside or not. Serie a has introduced this even since the previous season. EPL will start to use this next season.

I'm glad about this, because the more accurately and objectively the rules are followed, the less I am distracted by extraneous interference and the more I enjoy the game itself.
The only thing I’m dissatisfied with in advance is how meticulously the automation/referee will determine the offside position - if it’s millimeters, it will look extremely disappointing. On the other hand, it is not clear where to draw the line of “significance” of the player’s position - if at the level of 0.5 meters, then the defending team will be 100% unhappy.

Kane is doomed  Grin But being an eternal Tottenham player, it seems to me that he has an iron psyche and a habit of ignoring attacks against him, so most likely this will not affect him.

Poor guy, seriously. At least (to my knowledge) he has never whined about it, but he's human, he's feeling all of it, just not letting it affect his game -- though I do recall the season before he left that lost look in his eyes, you know, the one you see in Rashford's eye now.

When he retires he'll write a book about it. Rooney opened up about his alcoholism, recently Danny Murphy spoke about cocaine addiction :p

I wonder in Germany, do players also "open up" or is that just an English phenom?

Hmmm... I don't know. Maybe it’s just that not everyone writes books, but the fact that the old school is mostly alcoholics is quite widely known and, in principle, no one hid it. In fact, in the old days this was the norm.
As for Kane, he has a great reason to end the season "in the right mind": the European Championship, where England are among the main favourites. I think that he will be 100% in focus while this tournament is going on. Another question is how it will end and what will happen if Kane finds himself a complete loser everywhere this season. I hope he can withstand this load.

Ну когда 40% на войну уходят то конечно бюджетов не хватать будет  Wink

Wink

I doubt that Arsenal can win this round, indeed both teams still have the same chance, but in the next match Arsenal will face Munich away, of course this will make Arsenal feel pressured and I'm not sure that even if Arsenal uses all their strength, Munich will also do the same thing, let alone competing at home will make Munich more confident to win.

Bayern are unstable this season and they lost to outsiders both home and away, so with Arsenal the result could be anything in the return game, playing at the home stadium will not give Bayern significant bonuses. Let's say it will be difficult for Arsenal to win (this is 100%) but they can dry out the game (like in the game with City) and then there is a high probability that we will see extra time and a penalty shootout.
807  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Investing in casinos: Still a thing? on: April 11, 2024, 11:12:37 AM
You are right to be worried but this casino isn't really new in the business. I see that they have been around since 2018 and I am not sure if they'll harm their reputation like that. If it becomes an issue, they will probably cancel the offer.

Both of you didn't make any comments on the 20 btc limit. It matters imo. They put a limit on it. (that 20 btc is not for per person as I understood, it is the total amount they want to borrow) It is not like they say "hey bring us 1000 btc and get 1150 btc next year!!!"

Let's say the casino is making 50 btc in profits annually, (I am pulling the number from my azz) then the 3 btc interest they pay on that borrowed 20 btc is not going to be a problem, but then OG's point stands. If they make so much money, why are they paying such high rates? They shouldn't be borrowing any coins.

I am trying to come up with an answer that makes sense maybe I should ask these questions in their official topic.

This project is not new for BTT either - a couple of years ago they had a signature campaign and if I remember correctly, the conditions were above average (something around $100 a week).
As for the generosity of the conditions of their investment program, the whole point is in the limit. In fact, they limit their spending to 3 BTC, while they receive 20 BTC in circulation and additional attention/advertising due to such generous conditions. It seems to me that for any living business spending 3 btc per year is a trifle.
808  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League 2023/24 Season on: April 11, 2024, 11:02:45 AM
Probably, if everything were so simple, the bookmakers would not give such generous odds - 1.83, does this not bother you?
It is clear that Milan is a big favorite (1.53 according to bookmakers) if we talk about the total result of the two games, but I am not sure that the victory will be easy. By the way, the chances for BTTS Yes are very interesting - 2.04. It seems to me that, taking into account the imperfect defense and good attack of both teams, the coefficient compensates for the risk.
Yep, both of the teams are sharp in attacking line, so each of them should able to score a goal. We can't really predict the result, there's a chance it will end in draw, just like in Champions League match yesterday where the two matches were draw.

Just checked the statistics. It turns out that Milan scored goals in all of the last 10 games, and Roma scored goals in 8 of the last 10 games. But judging by the odds on BTTS, bookmakers expect Milan to win dry. Questionable expectations - if you look at the Serie A standings, you can see that Milan is the worst in the top 4 in terms of the number of goals conceded and they concede more than one goal per game on average.
809  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you have a habit of tracking your gambling progress? on: April 11, 2024, 10:49:17 AM
It will be difficult to track every single progress on our bets. But as gambler i think it is good to focus on the crucial things like; wager, the numbers of wins and lost in a day. This can be done by using a google sheets for storing those information's. Although only gamblers who see gambling like a profession would buy the idea. However, spreadsheet an keep record of dates, wager, wins and losses and sum the total. Its simple just set a calendar for any month. Then list the crucial things into columns and number the rows to the number of days in that particular month. If this strategy is adopted we can be able to see our progress every month we gamble.

I don’t see the point in keeping records with a lot of detail, in my opinion, it is enough to record deposits and withdrawals. I don’t see the point in keeping records with a lot of detail; in my opinion, it is enough to record deposits and withdrawals.
And if we are talking about professional betters (I doubt that professional gamblers exist), then they have a completely different level of fixing their bets, where they track the odds at which the bet was made plus their further changes, etc.

However, this is home match for Atletico Madrid and it will be little difficult to determine who can win it, on the other hand, Girona has also had fairly stable performance in recent times.
It just that I think Girona will still be able to perform well in this away match, we see what happens but I will try to make Girona the favorite.

Girona have 4 wins and 5 losses in their last 10 games, I would not say that things are going well/stable for them. Atlético are not doing much better (5 wins with 4 losses), but still, for them it will be a home game, plus Athletic Bilbao is only two points behind. Losing a spot in the Champions League for Atlético would mean complete failure, and for Simeone it would most likely mean dismissal, even taking into account the fact that they are doing well in the Champions League this season.

Quote
Arsenal are working hard to sign Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga and are willing to spend up to €110 million on the France international, according to a report from Spain.
The report states: “Arsenal would be willing to pay up to €110m for the player, but Madrid are not studying this possibility.
They believe that he is going to become the best midfielder in the world, and they do not want to risk losing a talent of his calibre.”
https://www.footballtransfers.com/en/transfer-news/uk-premier-league/2024/04/arsenal-transfer-news-eduardo-camavinga-real-madrid-jude-bellingham

I have to say Arsenal has a good eye. because Camavinga is a great player and also can be a very good asset for his team. He is such a player that can play in multiple positions. And at certain times it can help the team a lot as well. I think we have seen him play in almost all the positions in Real Madrid, to be honest. At this point, if the Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti comes down with illness, I guess Real Madrid is going to be in safe hands as Camavinga as their coach.

Anyway jokes aside, I think Arsenal will be able to make a great improvement of the squad they can actually get him. But I don’t think Real Madrid is selling him.

Camavingas agent spoke rather harshly about these rumors, calling them nonsense. Probably, taking into account the fact that Camavinga already has enough playing time to prove himself (he played something like 50% of the maximum possible minutes) and in the future with the departure of Modric (then Kroos) this number will grow, there is no point in changing the team. He is now 21 years old, he is in one of the best teams in the world, what is the point in changing anything? He has huge room for progress in Real Madrid.

PSG gave Barcelona an opportunity to qualify for the next round in the first leg. but Barcelona will not give PSG the same opportunity in the second leg. I think PSG's best chance in the second leg is a draw. Xavi certainly knows very well how to beat PSG on their own turf.
there is a possibility that we will also get a surprise, but PSG this season has not been very good for UCL. I won't say Barelona is better either. but looking at the opportunities that exist, I think Xavi can give his best for Barcelona this season in the UCL after perhaps having difficulty catching Madrid in La Liga.

I’m not at all sure that Barcelona is the team that has enough of a one-goal advantage to feel comfortable in the return game, I think that nothing has been decided here at all. At the moment, the odds of Barcelona qualifying are rated at 1.24 and PSG's odds at 4.10. It is obvious to me that the value is in the bet on PSG.
If I remember correctly, I made a bet with exactly the same odds that Atlético would qualify (against Inter) and I was right.
813  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League 2023/24 Season on: April 11, 2024, 08:10:53 AM
Oddly enough, for me this game will be more interesting than the other 3, even though this pair is with teams from the same country. After a series of victories over weak teams, Roma won victories over Brighton, Lazio and now Milan - this is the next level where Roma need to prove that they are really strong. Milan are very firmly in second place in Serie A (they can't go higher or lower) so the Europa League will be their top priority.

The outcome of the Milan vs Roma match will not be impossible to predict. Milan is far superior to Roma in many aspects and as you can see how milan consistently destroyed roma several times. I still expect Roma to lose to AC Milan, as it did in the previous game in serie a.

The 1x2 odds for now are:

ACM @ 1.83 ROM @ 4.50

ACM will play at home, while ROM will play away. There is no better option than betting on ACM to win the game easily.

Total over 2.5 and 2.75 provide excellent odds and it's likely to happen too. Total over 2.5 appears to be a viable alternative for 1x2 ACM. Acmilan may be able to win with huge scores against Roma soon.

I must admit that Rossi has made an impressive debut for Roma, but that does not change the fact that Acmilan is far superior here consider it has better compared to the roma in so many aspects. Milan will be able to field the best squad against Roma soon.

Probably, if everything were so simple, the bookmakers would not give such generous odds - 1.83, does this not bother you?

The UEFA vs City scenario will just repeat itself - the crimes were proven, but City escaped punishment for procedural reasons.
I do not think that case was a simplistic as this, but heck, I did not follow that case up either.

We will need all the optimism we can get to get through this round of the UCL. Tough match up yesterday and another tough match on Sunday. Bayern have lost the league so will have the liberty to fully rest their players this weekend.

If you don't want to get angry, it's better not to find out the details  Grin

I’m interested in how Liverpool will play today - their next game is on the 14th with Crystal Palace, which doesn’t seem to be difficult, and today is a game with Atalanta where it is desirable to ensure a positive result right away. But the odds of 1.31 look ridiculous - Atalanta is not such a weak team that Liverpool could win so easily with such a difficult schedule of games.
815  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Making decisions while betting on: April 11, 2024, 07:36:06 AM
I am still surprised how humanity was able to invent a casino.
After all, this is a place that tests us for self-discipline. And the paradox is that you need to feel nothing to be productive. But you always want to feel something. How difficult it is to find a balance between the desire to experience emotions and not allow them to control our lives. The casino is like a mirror reflecting our ability to self–control and our desire for excitement.
Perhaps this contradiction is where its appeal lies.

Casino/gambling is just an imitation of what we already face in life: you can make reliable decisions and get little, or make risky decisions and get a lot but also lose a lot. It is not surprising that gambling (which is a reflection of processes in real life) was invented.
I advise you to read why Go is considered a much more ancient game than Chess  Wink Firstly, it is interesting, and secondly, it shows how life circumstances are reflected in inventions (in this case, in games).
816  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ POLL ] The Unification Fight: FURY vs USYK 18th MAY 2024 re-scheduled on: April 11, 2024, 07:19:05 AM
Wow, The Rock Dwayne Johnson is in great shape. However, if Fury considers himself to be one, then most likely he does not train 24/7 but is again experiencing mental problems due to cocaine and nandrolone  Grin

Quotes haunt me - at the moment on sportsbet.io it’s literally 1.85 to 1.85. In theory, such a dramatic change is a sure sign that you should bet against the former favorite. But 1.85 doesn't seem like good compensation for the risk.

However, if Tyson Fury trained for the fight against Francis Ngannou and punched Francis straight to the stretcher and carried out by Mike Tyson, would the odds on Fury be 1.85? It will certainly be very much lower, I reckon. This is the picture mentioned that was being compared by the fans to the Rock.

Also, what is this nondrolone? This is my first time knowing this ehehe. Is this good? Will this drug cause Fury to imagine and invent a new punch heheheh.

It is difficult to say whether it is possible to invent a new punch with the help of nandrolone, but since it is an anabolic steroid, it can help you get into shape faster (which Fury definitely needed). The question is whether he will again be able to find a boar with the required concentration of nandrolone in the meat   Grin

Quotes are still 1.85 - 1.85. I still don’t understand if there is value here (probably in a bet on Fury). There is probably no point in betting live, since one hit will change the whole picture.

Hell, yesterday my cat really threw off my schedule (I had to take him to the vet) and I didn't make any predictions at all. Eh.
I think that I lost 3 points because in the PSG - Barcelona game I was confident in PSG, and in the Atlético - Dortmund game I would make a classic 2-1 prediction for a random game.
I could be wrong again, but the BTTS for the return game between Barcelona and PSG looks like easy money with any odds, what do you think?
818  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: April 11, 2024, 07:03:55 AM

This week Tottenham Hotspur is scheduled to play against Newcastle. I think this match is a golden opportunity for Tottenham to be more secure in 4th place in the Premier League standings. The reason is that currently Tottenham Hotspur's position is still less secure in 4th position. The reason is that Tottenham Hotspur currently has the same points as Aston Villa who are in 5th place. So in this match, Tottenham Hotspur must be able to win so they can add points and get a little further away from Aston Villa.
However, I personally am very confident that in this match Tottenham Hotspur can definitely win against Newcastle. The reason is that if you look at the Head to Head record of the two teams, from the last 5 meetings the result is that Tottenham is superior to Newcastle, namely with 3 wins and 2 losses. So in this match I am sure Tottenham can definitely win the match and get the full 3 points.
~

At the moment, bookmakers quote this game very randomly:

2.72 - 4.00 - 2.32

Probably fair quotes even taking into account the fact that Tottenham have 13 points more. Newcastle is playing at home, plus if you look at the overall picture, at the moment both clubs are more likely to be losers of the season than vice versa. Newcastle, by the way, will also be highly motivated: they have every chance to overtake West Ham and United and at least get into the Europa League.
I would not engage in gambling in this game by placing a bet, the maximum that is more or less reliable here is BTTS.

820  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Claw Machines: a category of gambling? on: April 09, 2024, 05:57:24 PM
This is mostly a skill game rather than gambling. You know everything you need to know here and there are no hidden surprises like a changed RTP so much common nowadays in absolutely every reputable casino and new ones.In here if you are skillful enough or better smart enough to learn the patterns of how those prizes move by trying a few times it can make you skillful enough to get the paper money or the best electronic gadget these machines offer.

All of these machines have customization options and its owner can customize it in such a way that you will never win a prize. Therefore, I would say that these are not games where skill matters, but gambling, since essentially the owner controls the odds and naturally he sets them so that he always wins on average.
Other types of such machines (for example, where you have to push out a prize through holes of different diameters) are 100% gambling, since in them, despite the fact that you control the joystick, this does not in any way affect getting into the desired holes. The frequency of hits is adjusted in the device itself and the player’s efforts mean nothing.
