Recently we saw many news about Salah and Liverpool. He got injured and he couldn't play for Egypt that's why many Egyptian players and fans were attacking him and they said Salah was not loyal to Egypt because he was not even hardly injured but he didn't play for his national team.
According to the last news, Salah is getting back to good form and he started training in the field.

Grin The news is good, but now the fans have even more excuses (not reasons) to harass Salah.
I am annoyed by people who can “check” the diagnosis and condition of someone (in this case Salah) with the power of thought. And yes, they can also read his mind to find out whether he is truly loyal or not. But I think Salah himself treats this philosophically - he has been in football all his life and I think he has already encountered crazy fanatics who are always dissatisfied with something.

As a result, the quarterfinal pairings turned out to be as random as possible:

Nigeria - Angola                  1.69 - 3.53 - 5.19

Congo - Guinea                   2.35 - 2.84 - 3.38

Mali - Ivory coast                3.68 - 2.88 - 2.21

Cape Verde - South Africa    2.69 - 2.86 - 2.84

We literally have one favorite, and the rest of the teams have a ~40% chance of winning at best. I think it makes sense to bet on a draw in all games except the first, the team, exhausted in the 1/8 finals, is unlikely to take much risk in games with equal opponents, especially when there are two steps left to the title. It might even be worth betting on the exact score 0-0 and 1-1.
According to the odds from the betting platforms, Nigeria is the only team with fewer odds, which makes them the favorites in this round of eight. But we have seen how the competition has been so far; many teams we expected to have been in this stage have been eliminated, and only a few make it to this stage, which shows that anything can happen even though experience will take over hard work in these stages of the competition.

AFCON this year is interesting to watch. Many countries have stepped up their performance to prove to the world that there will be no separate teams or countries that will be ruling African football. This is a good sign of development in African football.

I am hoping that the Nigerian Super Eagles will be able to make it the semi-finals by defeating Angola, because the Angola players have already received so many gifts from different places just to encourage them to beat the Super Eagles of Nigeria, but I am sure the Super Eagles are also making all the basic preparations for the match, nevertheless, lets wait and see what the match result brings.

Maybe the tournament has really become more diverse/even, but when I see such a composition of participants in the quarter-finals, I begin to get some analogies with the Europa League and even the Conference League.
Nigeria is the only favorite. There is also the Ivory Coast which have already won the African Cup and regularly played in the finals. I would probably like to see this couple in the final so that there would be no doubts about the status of the tournament.
943  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: February 01, 2024, 09:06:25 PM

Soon we will watch the match between Getafe vs Real Madrid and the line-ups for both teams have been released. As we can see, Real Madrid still relies on Lunin for goalkeeping and Bellingham is also fit for today's match. On the other hand, Ancelotti used a duo of Vinicius and Joselu for the attack line and it appears that Ancelotti has substituted Rodrygo for this match. Apart from that, Dani Carvajal also appeared on the bench and is currently being replaced by Lucas Vasquez.

Meanwhile, Getafe still entrusts Borja Mayoral and Mason Greenwood to score goals, maybe Real Madrid's defense should be more alert to these two players so they don't concede easily. Apart from all that, Real Madrid must win and shift Girona back, it would be very detrimental if the match ended in a draw or loss. At least Real Madrid must win with a difference of 2 goals.

Joselu has already converted one of his chances and after the first half Real leads 1-0. I also expect Real to win +2 goals (since I predicted their victory 3-0), but I can’t say that they will strain too much to achieve this score. At the moment, bookmakers see the most likely score as 2-0 in Real Madrid's favor.
Oh, I see that the hosts made a triple substitution at half-time, this could liven up the game! I hope for an open game (then Real will definitely score at least 2 more).

I do understand and respect the opinion of you guys against VAR or technology, but I disagree
Teams and national teams these days are all professional, there's too much work and money involved to throw it all away because of human error
Imagine you're the owner of a team, or you're a player, coach, etc. Just imagine you get to a final, for example, and because of human error, you lose that game. Wouldn't that be VERY unfair?
I think it's very valid to use all resources to minimize mistakes

I'll just cite a very grotesque example, in 2002 the United States team played against Germany, it was 1x0 to Germany, look what happened: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bg3psAYfOv8
I remember well because I was rooting to US and they were playing very well, maybe their best team so far, and they are totally
And they were totally prejudiced by an error that VAR could easily have solved today

The outcome of that match could have been totally different, including the final. Who knows, maybe the US could have gone further?
There are tons of examples, and we can think of something closer to us, imagine making a big bet and losing it because of a mistake by the referee?
That's pretty unfair

But one mistake by the referee breaks the pace of the game much more because the players argue and even if the game has resumed, then in the case of an obvious mistake the players think about it all the time and the game of the team against which the injustice was committed often turns out to be broken. And if the mistake affected the outcome of the game, then the entire tournament is broken (it’s unlikely that anyone will agree that they actually lost the game if the referee’s mistake affected its outcome). VAR is the lesser of two evils.
By the way, I follow chess, and the problem of cheating is very acute there, and you know, no one is happy that “human nature is such” that he can play not according to the rules (use computer tips). On the contrary, many believe that chess is already dead (all dead in general, there is no even talk about online).
945  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: February 01, 2024, 08:46:35 PM

Historically, many can be called strong, for example, Crvena Zvezda or Steaua - both of these clubs won the Champions League, but in today's realities they cannot be favorites even in the Conference League. Likewise, Porto are clear underdogs in games against Arsenal. Here are the odds for the first game:

4.31 - 3.58 - 1.78

Even away, Arsenal are favorites. Taking into account the fact that this is the most convenient scheme for a two-game confrontation (first an away game then at home), I don’t think that there can be any surprises here. Even if Porto somehow manages to win in the first game, Arsenal will solve all the issues in the return game.
Well the old time football is quite different from now and the issues most teams are having is that they weren’t able to adapt to the changes. We have teams who were considered big teams in the old time football and even won the Champions League but they’re nothing to write home about in recent football.
~

It's not about the teams that couldn't adapt, it's about the economy. The more football became a business, the more successful clubs from rich countries became. Once upon a time, Eastern Europe could compete on equal terms with Western Europe, but economic processes have led to the fact that now rich countries completely dominate. Now no club from a small country (and therefore with a smaller budget because the market size is smaller, even if the standard of living in the country is good) has no chance of being consistently successful. If some Ajax appears that will play like Bayern, then all its players will be taken away immediately after the end (and maybe before the end haha) of the season.
946  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: February 01, 2024, 08:35:23 PM
Ten Hag couldn't have a good performance in Manchester United and they are still in the middle of the premier league table and Manchester United needs some changes to give some a shock get things together before they lose more points.
Since the Innos is the new owner of Manchester United, they want to change their coach and stop working with Ten Hag, there is the possibility for Mourinho to return to Manchester United. there are even some players in Manchester United who have been in the team from the time when Mourinho was working there like Anthony Martial and Luke Shaw.

https://www.pulsesports.ng/football/story/mourinho-eyes-sensational-return-to-man-united-with-ineos-2024013119371842433

I have conflicting feelings about this option. On the one hand, Mourinho can squeeze water out of a stone and achieve results beyond expectations, but on the other hand, United is such a mystical club that even he can fail there. Taking into account the fact that not everyone objectively assesses Jose's successes at Roma, United could become “another” failure for Mourinho. I wouldn't want him to take that risk. Even returning to Chelsea looks more interesting in my opinion.
947  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: January 31, 2024, 09:17:19 PM
Historically Porto is clearly better than Arsenal, because the Portuguese representatives have two UCL trophies in their cupboard while Arsenal have none. In terms of mentality, it is clear that Porto is better than Arsenal, but things have now changed and Arsenal has better bargaining power than Porto. Reasonably enough, Arsenal has better attributes and squad depth than Porto, Arteta spent big last summer. However, Arsenal and Porto are not favorites to win this season, because clubs like Madrid, Man City and Bayern have better strengths.

On paper, I'm pretty sure Arsenal can get through to the round of 16 by beating Porto, even though we realize that Porto is not a team that can be underestimated. In the group phase Arsenal suffered one defeat, while Porto experienced it twice, maybe this can be a reference if you want to bet on their match. So far Arsenal have been considered consistent in the EPL, and in my opinion they have a chance to reach the semi finals this season.

Historically, many can be called strong, for example, Crvena Zvezda or Steaua - both of these clubs won the Champions League, but in today's realities they cannot be favorites even in the Conference League. I just wrote that Tottenham does not want to catch up with Aston Villa (since after the first half the score was 1-0 in favor of Brentford), but in the first 5 minutes of the second half everything turned upside down and the score was already 2-1.
I managed to notice that before the start of the second half the odds for Tottenham to win were 3.3 and now they are 1.23 - an impressive turnaround. And it’s also funny that it took Johnson 4 minutes to enter the field and score a goal - the coach made a good substitution.
949  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you believe visiting a seer or spiritual house could make you win a game? on: January 31, 2024, 08:39:04 PM
Recently, I have come across a post on this board that has to do with something related to superstitious beliefs and gambling. In the post, the poster was giving an instance where somebody's father gave him a game to play and he ignored it, and when the game ended, it happened that what he was given happened to be the result of the game, and the same thing repeated itself the second time where his father came again and asked him why he did not play the game and gave him another, which he failed to play again. However, I am meant to understand that some people go as far as visiting seers and the rest of the spiritual houses to help them play or see the outcome of the games they want to play so they can win big.

So I was wondering if there is any connectivity here, or do you believe such could happen in your own situation? Can you do such a thing to win? Have you had the experience of going to such places to seek predictions on how the outcome or results of games could be if they worked in your favor or not? Have you had anyone say or tell you such before and how their experience was?

Let us discuss and share your experience so that people could hear and learn from your  story in the quest for you to win a game that led you to doing or going that extra miles in such engagement.

Grin To everyone who tries to tell me similar stories (this applies not only to sports betting, but also to trading and other similar topics), I say that bookmakers have long bought up all the seers, fortune-tellers and predictors so that they deliberately confuse people and they lose money. For people who are looking for such “guaranteed” options, but in fact are only looking for confidence in their actions, this point of view has an “encouraging” effect.

I would also like to say thanks for the free bet. I tried my luck on a German tennis player as I won the free bet from the Bundesliga and I won. Smiley I hope that I can be this lucky on my future bets as well.

Congratulations!

I was also able to get a win with my freebet as well, I had it on a small betbuilder on the Arsenal vs Nottingham Forrest match, my bet was on the line already, I however got my arse saved by 93rd minute corner kick awarded to Nottingham, as a total of 2+ corners from the host was I needed left to win my bet.

Congratulations too  Smiley It’s cool when lucky people post how they use their free bets, I win them more or less often (due to the fact that I participate in many pools) and I’m interested in comparing my strategy and performance with how others do it. Thank you, colleagues and good luck  Wink
This season, it seems, I have never been close to making something serious out of a free bet (I mostly bet on odds of 10, and then if I win, I bet again).

~snip~
In the fight against dishonest refereeing, VAR also helps very well, simply by its existence - it is difficult to make the wrong decision when you are then subject to criticism and there will be no excuse “I didn’t notice.”
In general, people get used to good things very quickly - I remember how just ten (even less) years ago goals from a two-meter offside position were the norm, a ball that hit the goal from the crossbar (and crossed the line = goal) and then flew out of there was not counted, it was also a common occurrence (even at the World Cup). Now people are discussing small, rare mistakes (and I don’t dispute that they exist), but they forget that the situation has become much better.

I think it should be as it was before, basically that's the job of the referee team, to check out what's going on, and interpret the game the best they can.

If we simply add sensors everywhere, then might as well switch the players for robots...

The RoboCup is an alternative World Cup that does exactly that, and let me tell you, it's fun for like 5 minutes. Then it gets so boring.

And by the way, in 2050 the World Cup champion country will play against the RoboCup champion. We'll see how that goes.

https://spectrum.ieee.org/robocup-robot-soccer

To be honest, I don’t understand this logical chain. Technical means only help referees make the right decisions and not count a goal from a two-meter offside, or be deceived by the player’s simulation. Why we should switch to robots is unclear to me.
I remember what severe cognitive dissonance I experienced when there was no VAR yet, but in tennis a system was already in full use that determined the position of the ball down to the millimeter. I switched between these two sports and literally could not understand why there was such a difference, and by the way, I have never heard tennis players complain about technical means that allow them to get a fair result and not rely on the accuracy of the referee’s vision.

It seems the bad days are not going to end anytime soon for Xavi and his players because in the game against Osasuna and the first minute of the match, Ferran Torres got injured and they had to take him out of the field.
Recently Barcelona was under pressure and many players in this team got injured or were not in good form, obviously losing a player like Ferran Torres can damage Xavi and his players even more than before.
However, we don't know if he is hardly injured or not.

Torres is suspected of having a torn thigh muscle, if so, he will be out for a long time.
In general, Barcelona once again walked on the edge and could have lost points. However, since the race for the title is over, these three points will help to stay in the top 4, so the result should be considered successful.
Thank God, today or tomorrow the remaining two games that broke the table (due to their postponement) will be played and it will be possible to normally evaluate teams by the number of points scored and not count those lost.

Bookmaker quotes for this game are currently as follows:

1.6 - 4.6 - 5.3

I must note that they are far from the worst, given that Liverpool’s victory looks obvious. But despite the fact that Chelsea hangs in the middle of the standings, their status is still higher than that of the “average” team, plus last season and this season they upset some favorites, so in this game I would not risk making a money bet, BTTS looks the safest.

Im still waiting for chelsea's surprise but i may think to bet after official line up to be published. Pochettino was a fuckin clown and he was very often in doing random line up. I hope that he will be using the same line up like the match against middlesbourgh in the second leg. This is also very helpful for the club caused by liverpool was a strong team and it must be using the best line up to fight it. Liverpool's odds is quite good caused by it's gonna be playing at home but i remind you that liverpool is gonna play without salah and this is the major weakness owned by the club. Liverpool consistently won in the previous games, but it was against the weak club.

Nothing surprise to see liverpool to own all of games caused by it's all what people wanted to see. I would rather than try to pick btts for this game. It's quite reasonable caused by chelsea is also able performing a bit better this time compared to the last season.
I will not bet if pochettino will put palmer as a fuckin striker. It will be dumb to see pochettino use the same strategy like put palmer as a striker. I will blame him if he will be doing it.

I see you love Pochettino very much  Grin I won’t argue about his coaching decisions - I don’t follow Chelsea so deeply to notice such things. By the way, BTTS is not so bad - 1.47, this result seems obvious. Asian Total Over 3 is currently quoted at 1.68, bookmakers are expecting a lot of goals in this game despite the absence of creative Salah.
955  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: January 31, 2024, 07:39:31 PM
What can they do? Find a second group of sheikhs for PSG-2 to appear? Football is a business, the best conditions for business are in England and as we see this is directly reflected in the results. As far as I know, in France, because of taxes, things are much more sad with this and football there as a business is unattractive (PSG is not a business project but a toy in the hands of the sheikhs).
By the way, I'm surprised that things in Italy are not so bad, I heard that they are in decline economically.
I am not agreed about this just finding another group of Sheikhs and having huge investment this is not better solution they need to sit and think about their all structure with having some relaxation in taxes with also try to improve their quality surely works for them because they have good potential and their system is also working with they are having good fan base in African region which can bring good increase of their viewers but currently their quality and structure is surely problem.

Just one club which is having luxurious investment holding things for years no other club is able to compete with this all even their players are having good quality but overall their clubs are going down in UEFA competitions as well which is the worst thing happening just PSG is able to compete in Champions League at the top level all others are sucks.

Yes, an adequate level of taxes is a good solution in any situation (whether we are talking about football or something else) but it does not seem that in France they care much about this. Business conditions are better in England and football is better there too (since football is a business). By the way, if we count honestly and do not take into account the injections that are made to PSG under “murky” schemes from fictitious sponsors, then PSG has a very bad financial situation - as far as I know, their income from ticket sales is almost ten times less than that of average clubs in the Premier League.
956  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: You can not win if you do not risk on: January 31, 2024, 07:31:18 PM
This seems true, but such reasoning is closer to demagoguery than to anything reasonable. This can be viewed from the opposite point of view: if you do not take risks, then you will definitely not lose your money. What is better: the opportunity to win or the guarantee not to lose? These are subjective questions and in each case they have a different solution since people are individual and are in different conditions.
I do not see it to be true. Or we can say that it is true theoretically but when it comes to practically, it is not true because gambling sites win than gamblers. This is how it would happen, the gambler will think he can use higher amount of money to gamble to win more, but forgetting that he can also lose the money. Before the gambler knows, he is losing than winning.

Ok, what do you say in that case (of which there are many) when someone wins the jackpot? Do you think this is theory and not practice, or do you think they could win the jackpot without making a bet?  Roll Eyes
The total numbers mean nothing in each individual case, and most importantly, it is purely logically impossible to dispute the logical connection between “taking a risk - having the opportunity to win.” The fact that the probability of winning is less than the probability of losing is another matter.
957  Other / Off-topic / Re: Before you start gambling, do some research first on: January 30, 2024, 11:51:05 AM
The person is working hard and spend the money he earned on gambling and he is not moving forward but stagnant like someone that has no job. That is enough to be a good lesson for him. If you still see that he continues to gamble, let him know that the ending will not still favour him. He will be regretting and thinking that he can still make money from gambling thinking that his strategies might work, tell him not to be deceiving him than not to gamble again until he has control over it. Gambling budget should not be more than 1 to 5% if his weekly income. If he is not gambling for fun, he should not be gambling is the best.

It is obvious that he is in an acute phase of gambling addiction. But if we talk cynically, then as I understand it, this causes more trouble (moral) for the OP than for someone who spends all the money they earn on gambling? Maybe he's content to work hard so he can go spend all his money in a casino. If he doesn’t get into debt and continues to live like an ordinary person, then maybe there’s nothing wrong with that? If the addiction does not progress, then maybe one day he will get tired of it and find another hobby.

Good day guys, how is the gambling industry helping you this period?

However I just want to say that in the game world gamblers are always there to bet and the important thing here is when a gambler can not risk he also can not win, true or false?
Many might still believe that a gamblers who's just gambling at the first day might end up winning w huge amount of money that he wasn't expecting but the truth is that as long as you stake on bet you have already risk your money, be it big or small.

This seems true, but such reasoning is closer to demagoguery than to anything reasonable. This can be viewed from the opposite point of view: if you do not take risks, then you will definitely not lose your money. What is better: the opportunity to win or the guarantee not to lose? If you look at the Head to Head record in the last 5 matches, Liverpool is much better than Chelsea because when they meet in a match, Liverpool is the one who wins the most matches and currently Liverpool's position in the standings is still in first place. while Chelsea is far adrift in 9th position. this temporary stagnation. And what is clear is that this match will look even hotter and more tense with the strength of performance possessed by each player at their respective clubs and it is also possible that Chelsea will play even better than before because they will definitely try their best not to lose. again against Liverpool. Moreover, there are currently rumors circulating that Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp will leave at the end of the season, this clearly has a big impact on the future of the Liverpool club.

Firstly, these are not rumors, but Klopp himself announced his departure and this is clearly not a joke, since such things are not joked with and the process of his departure has already begun (the club notified him last year).
As for statistics and other things, I don’t think that this will help much in “guessing” the winner in a particular game. If everything is so clear and understandable, then why is the coefficient so generous? +60% for one game is serious income.

I used to gamble at my previous job where I was the head of IT in a SME and I decided there to give or restrict access to different users,it is a few months that I have changed job and I am a network administrator now but in here the sys admin has everything logged even wireless devices so not much to do and I simply can't otherwise I would have continued to place at least some sport bets in here.I don't regret anything though as I can gamble at home and I don't feel any urge to gamble at work or if I did I surely can find a way to do so.

If you do not work at some secret facility (where there are increased security requirements and workers, for example, hand over their smartphones before entering the workplace), then there is always the option of gambling from a smartphone.
In fact, I don’t see much of a problem in doing something extraneous at the workplace (unless you’re a bus driver, of course), the most important thing is the result of the work, and not a beautiful imitation of the process.
