To some extent, I’m a hater, yes, and not only because I support Real Madrid, there are many things for which I personally don’t like Barcelona  Wink But this is beside the point. Bayern has long lost its “gloss” but even last year without Kane, experiencing big problems both in attack and defense, beat Barcelona twice with a score of 3-0. Wasn't that epic? And those memes when the draw showed that Bayern and Barcelona would be in the same group and Kahn laughing in the hall?  Cheesy

Man i think this is nearly to immposible, but yes if Barcelona failed again for third time in a row to reach the round of 16 they really need to start lloking for a witch, because it seems like a Messi cursed. This year Uefa give thems the most easy group of the history.

With Messi they had the same thing - early eliminations + 8-2 (and other interesting results) with Bayern. The real dominance of Barcelona was when the golden generation of the Spanish national team played at their peak. In general, before today’s game against Rayo Vallecano, I practically didn’t believe that this could happen, but now I’m starting to doubt it. Barcelona plays chaotically and can lose a couple of games to any opponent (especially a highly motivated one in the Champions League).

Does anyone know why there is a very interesting situation in some qualifiers groups?

I mean for example Georgia have made it to the playoffs despite being behind Norway. The same thing happened for the last-placed team in Group F which are Estonia also. The rules UEFA have determined are just really awkward truthfully. Other than that we can give Ireland's having another opportunity through Nations League as another example too.  Sad

Placement into the Losers Tournament is based on the ranking of teams in the Nations League tournament. Yes, this is absurd, but in this way UEFA is trying to add value to this tournament, which everyone has already given up on.

Path C actually gives a decent chance to Luxembourg.

They showed way more than Georgia in their qualifiers and if they progress, anything can happen in 1 game.
Greece is the big favorite of the whole Pot C, but having Luxembourg at the Euros would be fun. And, well, really bizarre at the same time.

Yes, it would be funny to see, for example, Germany winning the group stage against Luxembourg with a score of 20-0  Grin And I agree that thanks to one meeting, everyone has a chance. Path B will obviously be won by Ukraine, while Path A will see Wales and Poland meet in the final.

It's a pity that Liverpool didn't win, but the fact that City lost 66.6% of possible points today is also great  Cheesy
I'm glad that today I chose Newcastle's win despite the fact that Chelsea were slightly favorites, because I was sure that Newcastle's losing streak could not be so serious, and Chelsea's successful streak could not be so solid. But who could have imagined that Newcastle would win with such a score! So unfortunately I will only get 1 point here. By the way, it turns out that Chelsea conceded 8 goals in 2 games, not a very good figure for those who already thought that Chelsea had “returned”.

I didn't put much attention to the fact that Chelsea conceded 4 goals against Manchester City as that game was a real open one and both teams were playing really well so I did bet on Chelsea win or draw here thinking exactly the opposite of you that Newcastle is in a much weaker recent form and as such I lost my ticket, well done on your win as who would have thought Newcastle to win 4-1,in the pool I also put a 1-1 draw so lost in both ways.

I do still think that Chelsea has returned and the game of tonight was only a really bad luck night which can happen to any team and I believe Chelsea will be back to winning ways as soon as the next game.

Chelsea is already getting better, maybe the acute phase of the crisis has passed, but even if they continue to progress, having 16 points after 13 rounds, it’s hard for me to imagine a situation that they will be able to enter the top 4. Any other result in the championship (given that Chelsea does not play in European competition and can focus on one task) would be an obvious failure.

It’s a pity that you lost your bet, but the results are often illogical, and I try to predict such “illogicalities” (which gives an advantage in terms of odds). I proceed from the fact that it cannot be “everything is bad” or, on the contrary, “too good,” although regarding the "bad" in last season Chelsea seems to have been able to refute my thesis  Grin

I would laugh like crazy if Barcelona failed to qualify for the third year in a row, but unfortunately the likelihood of this is low. But there is an equally interesting option: Porto beats Barcelona and takes first place, and Barcelona takes second place and ends up with Bayern in the 1/8 and we are seeing a classic beating confrontation  Grin

I will just say you’re big hater of Barcelona because this wishes are too much on them. Imagine having to have them finish group runner up and then the draw comes off as Barca against Bayern Munich, i would just advice Barca then to fogey about the next around after that. But nonetheless the Bayern Munich club are not close to perfection as we have them during Robben and Ribery era, so I doubt if it will be humiliating as before. But the encounter will always be thrilling.

Man City and Liverpool ended up with a draw. The game wasn't as exciting as I thought it would be. Man City's performance was a bit disappointing. It seemed like they didn't really want to score a second goal after getting the first one. I think they're missing some spark and identity because Kevin De Bruyne is not playing.
The race for the title is going to be close. Now, it's up to Arsenal. If they win their next match, they'll be back at the top of the table. The ball is in Arsenal's court now.

The teams had very little time to get back in order after the international games, especially Liverpool which played away, so I'm pleasantly surprised that Liverpool were able to get a draw. Overall, an excellent result, since now both Arsenal and Tottenham (and even Newcastle, which will now obviously take 3 points) will be able to surpass/get closer to City.
By the way, as I said a long time ago, City had the easiest schedule of games at the beginning of the season, but now, on the contrary, it is very difficult and they have steadily begun to lose points, I hope this trend continues.

The fact that at the club level they have finished their careers can probably be said (although this would be disrespectful to the championships where they play), but since they are still in their national teams, we can say that their careers continue. Usually players first complete their careers in the national team and only then in clubs, here, apparently, we will see a simultaneous completion.
As for the fact that there is no need to push them further, there is no point in discussing this since the career of one player took place in laurels received thanks to officials, and the career of the second in conditions when he received laurels in spite of football officials. Nothing can be changed here. Even when they finish their careers they will be antagonists.

Playing in the club is not good as playing for the nation, because the nation play will help the player to set their own name. But if he play for the club, only the club name will define you,So you never get attached to the people. The fan for the club is low to the fan of the national player,So the most of the player play till their retirement age to the nation. This was the phenomenon of the player with average skills, the layer with more skill will lay for the club along with the nation playing. This is like Messi play for the Argentina and parallel to the other football clubs. The Mbappe itself play for the nation parallel to the other footall clubs along with their nation playing.

I don't know where you get these conclusions from. Playing for the national team is not only a job but also a privilege, which is why many football players (if they have great competition in the national team) leave the national team much earlier than club football. If you do not have the strength to compete at the top level and you are adequate to understand this, then you will leave the national team and change the club/championship to an easier one. This is the path most players take. By the way, there are questions for Ronaldo here  Grin

On the one hand, an unexpected result, on the other hand, it turns out that Rayo Vallecano takes points from Barcelona in the fifth consecutive game (within La Liga). The game itself looked like an equal one, and it’s not even clear who should be dissatisfied with the draw result. One way or another, Real (and Girona hahaha) got another chance to increase their advantage over Barcelona. By the way, if Atlético wins the two games they have in hand (relative to Barcelona), they will also bypass them.

As long as Ronaldo and Messi play in national teams and in real national championships (and not in friendlies), these games will matter more in their correspondence dispute than even such friendly games where they meet on the field. But it is quite natural that this game will attract a lot of attention due to the confrontation between personal brands.
I do not think that the situation between them was as high as it is right now even 10+ years ago, I think social media played a big role in this, players do not really feel any different, in fact one of them in some Saudi league playing against nobodies mostly (except just a few teams) and the other is in USA playing against nobodies all the time, and it's really like they are just looking for money and do not care about this rival stuff at all, it's just the customers that really care about it if you ask me.

I think it should be important to note that this is going to be an important situation, and we should try to do our best when it comes down to letting the players just be happy sometimes and not really push them further.

The fact that at the club level they have finished their careers can probably be said (although this would be disrespectful to the championships where they play), but since they are still in their national teams, we can say that their careers continue. WTF Granada? For a long time I doubted what result to predict in this game, but in the end I settled on the classic 2-1, although I wanted to choose 1-0 due to the fact that Alaves scores fewer goals per game on average. But Granada are so bad that with 10 minutes left in the game the score is already 3-0 and Alaves still have time to make it even bigger  Angry
1533  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you ever been a gambling addict? on: November 24, 2023, 09:38:59 PM
Probably people do not immediately become completely addicted, so to speak, “on the first try,” so even if a gambler has reached such a state that his brain does not work, then “winding back time” you can come to the moment when signs of addiction were already there and the brain was working, but the gambler did not take any measures to prevent the habit from developing into a pathological form, right?
Therefore, I think that even if a gambler is already in a state where he cannot control himself and take a break, this is still his fault and area of responsibility.
It is true that a gambler does not suddenly become addicted to gambling rather every gambler realizes that they are becoming addicted to gambling. Knowing that they are getting addicted to gambling, they cannot bring themselves out of it because then it works in their minds that they must make a profit by gambling. A gambler can recover from a gambling addiction through many challenging situations, but when a gambler realizes that he is addicted to gambling, the gambler cannot recover from that situation. A new gambler will not become addicted to gambling when he is very weak with money and when he does not have much courage to gamble again after losing money. However, those who are a little more stubborn and who are not very weak towards money usually get addicted to gambling.

I would call it common sense and not lack of courage  Grin If you are doing something that brings you a loss, it is better to stop it as soon as possible, and not hope that “suddenly everything will change in the opposite direction.”
As for the relationship between wealth and how easily a person succumbs to addiction, I don’t think it’s direct here, it’s the same as arguing that the children of rich people become drug addicts because they have everything. I think complex factors matter.

After what happened to other stars at United, Muller should think 100 times before agreeing to such a move  Grin
It would be legendary for Müller to end his career in Bayern at the club where he started and spent his entire career. As a last resort, he could go to Saudi Arabia; going to United means a high probability of ending his career in an unpleasant way in an atmosphere of scandals and a collapsing club.
For United, this is also a strange transfer - another temporary option, another straw that the head coach is trying to grab onto.

I agree with you. If Thomas Müller takes the decision to join Manchester United, I don't think it's the right decision. Thomas Müller is an excellent player. He has been with Bayern Munich for a long time. He has been with this group for more than 15 years. So he could retire from Munich. It would have been more honorable for him. Manchester United Renown is a team. But the current situation of this group is not good. The entire team's performance is erratic. There is no good relationship between the players. With such a team, Thomas Müller's performance will also deteriorate. Thomas Müller could have moved to a club in the Saudi Pro League. Thomas Müller should not join Manchester United at the age of 34.

Yes, by the way, it’s quite a pity that such incredible players as KDB and Thomas Müller have somehow been in the shadow of other players throughout their careers. I find this extremely unfair, especially in relation to Muller, who became a world champion at the national team level, but for some reason it never occurred to anyone to extol him. A move to United would be a disaster, I hope that next season both Muller and KDB will play in Saudi Arabia.

We are too busy talking about group F and forget that group H is also an interesting group. As we know, Barcelona lost against Shakhtar and that also dashed Barcelona's hopes of qualifying for the round of 16 early. Now Barcelona and Porto have the same 9 points and this will be an exciting competition considering that anyone can win the group with two matches remaining.

However, that's actually not the main point, but Shakhtar, who currently has 6 points, could shift one of the places at the top of Group H because they will play Antwerp (who obviously didn't qualify) and they will definitely get 3 additional points. After that Shakstar will play Porto in the last match and if they do well then Shakstar will collect 12 points. Barcelona and Porto must be careful if they don't want to lose their current place. Wink

Wow! So, if Italy plays like garbage and Albania is good, then Albania should suffer based on some crap ratings, and Italy should make a profit? And you apparently assume that this will be “in the interests of everyone”?  Roll Eyes This point of view seems a bit arrogant to me.
For the first time in a long time, UEFA did something reasonable, and you are defending the old corrupt system that increased the advantage of already strong teams and oppressed the weak ones due to some crap ratings based on games that had nothing to do with the tournament at all.
I feel like we are talking about just drawing luck, based on this pot situation we should not really be considering them all that different compared to what they used to be, I mean we are talking about a difficult group that could be like just good teams. I feel like that should not be all that important and we could just ignore the situation to be a bit of a different case.

I think it should be important to see that we could still have some good teams and some bad teams in all groups, and that's going to be a very big deal. Euro is a great situation to test these out and see if it works and could be something that will go on to be tested in other stuff as well. I still think that we need more teams to join though, to make it more fun.

Random can work in an “unusual/unexpected way” under any drawing system, but it is obvious that the team from the fourth basket has a much greater chance of getting into the death group than the team from the second basket. As for the fact that it’s worth adding more teams, I don’t understand what you mean. If you are talking about the tournament of losers, then it will give 3 more teams, if you still want to increase the number of teams at the European Championship, then I don’t think that this is a good idea.
1537  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: November 24, 2023, 08:59:00 PM
Yeah in the first half both teams played aggressively and has scored 3 goals but of course it's not over yet in the second half the situation may become more aggressive because Monaco certainly doesn't want to lose and give up, overall Paris Saint-Germain managed to control all lines 68% ball possessions 10 shoots and 7 on target I can see PSG like playing in the Champions League final.

To my surprise, Monaco is seriously resisting and the score after the first half is quite slippery 2-1. But bookmakers currently estimate the probability of PSG winning as 1.2 and it seems to me that in the second half we will really see that PSG is stronger again and the result will be close to my forecast “3-0 or 3-1”. But if Monaco can take points from PSG, I won’t be upset either (I very rarely place bets in Ligue 1 and missed this game).
1538  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ POLL ] The Unification Fight: FURY vs USYK 17th FEBRUARY 2024 on: November 24, 2023, 08:53:16 PM
Now that Usyk has seen Ngannou fight the way he did against Fury, I do not think Usyk will take Ngannou as an easy win if they ever met in a boxing ring. I would say the Usyk would win against Ngannou but it would be a tough fight. Anyway, it is better for Usyk to keep his eye firmly on the fight against Fury and leave aside any other possible opponents.

As for who would win when Fury and Usyk face each other on 17th February 2024, ordinarily, I would state that Fury would edge it but if it went to the judges scorecard anything could happen including a draw.

I am almost 100% sure that we will never see such exotic fights. If Usik beats Fury, he will simply retire immediately and go undefeated. One of the big boxers (I don’t remember exactly who) recently expressed this idea and I completely agree with it. If Usik loses, then maybe we will see a Usyk-Wilder or Usyk-Zhilei fight and maybe a rematch against Fury, but then, regardless of the result, he will leave. He doesn't look like someone who would abuse his body even when his age does not allow him to maintain a decent shape.

1540  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2026 :Canada/Mexico/United States: Discussion Thread on: November 24, 2023, 08:39:25 PM
Yes, I understand, sometimes absolutely incredible results happen, but the longer the distance, the more unlikely they are. There are 12 games ahead, which is 5 games more than in the Champions League playoffs. And as we know, the Champions League is always won by the same clubs, although the distance is shorter and we can assume that the dispersion will be greater.
In general, I have not checked, but I am sure that the bookmakers quote the probability of Brazil qualifying as 1.01. Moreover, taking into account the fact that the bet will be played only in 2025, we can say that this is a negative coefficient (lower than inflation).

Ok but this is where I don't know enough about the national teams in South America. I know that Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay are really strong, but I also thought that most of the other teams are at least not weak. Maybe if I can give an example, would you say that the game Brazil against Chile is about the same as Manchester City against Young Boys Bern? This is just to get an idea where to rank those teams in terms of strength. But I have been of the opinion that there is a certain baseline strength in South American teams that should never be underestimated and that those teams are occasionally able to take away points from the favorites. But this "occasional" could turn into a problem for Brazil now.

I don't know the strength of the Young Boys  Grin And I'm no expert on South America, but from what I know, Venezuela should drop into the bottom four and most likely the bottom four will be Bolivia, Venezuela, Peru and one of the Paraguay/Chile pairs. If we take separate games, then these teams have chances against Brazil, probably even better than 1 in 10, but if we take the distance, I would not even bet on 1 in 100.
