1361  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: December 07, 2023, 03:49:43 PM
Considering that, from the bookmakers' point of view, Barcelona has approximately a 30% chance of losing points, based on your assessment, you can safely bet on Barcelona. But I think it's too risky. Even though Barcelona wins tough games (eg against Atlético Madrid) they have too many tough games - even against outsiders. Girona looks like a more “vigorous” team and Girona’s goal difference is at least a little better than Barcelona’s. I see no reason why Girona cannot put up a serious fight in this game or even win it.

I think this betting is very difficult, because according to predictions the chance of winning could potentially be achieved by Barcelona but for some reason right now I prefer to bet on Girona winning because in essence I see Girona's performance is very good, and according to the standings alone because Girona is in the standings 2nd place he has 38 points but in the match when Girona faced Bilbao I saw that Girona's performance was slightly reduced because the result was a 1-1 draw but indeed Barcelona is a strong team and the proof is that when they faced Bilbao Barcelona won the match with a score of 1-0 so indeed Barcelona too has privileges that Girona doesn't have, but when facing Rayo Barcelona drew with a score of 1-1 but when Girona faced Rayo Girona won the match with a score of 1-2 yes this is a difficult situation to predict who will win later, it looks like we have to see Girona's performance tomorrow in the match against Orihuela in the Copa Del Rey league so that we can learn more and measure the extent of Girona's strength.

Personally, I decided to skip this game completely. Neither BTTS nor Total attracts me. I really have no idea how this game will go. And it’s not about Girona, if there was a game between Girona and the same team as Girona, then I would be sure that the total would be more than 2.5 and BTTS, even with odds of 1.5, would be profitable. The problem is in Barcelona. Maybe they will play the bus, maybe they will have problems converting chances. The score can be either 1-0, 0-0, 0-1, or 3-2. I won't risk it here.

Buwaytress likes bets with odds of 10, I’m not sure that odds of 4.70 (as the Aston Villa win is currently quoted) will attract him.
I hope City will lose points again and the bookmakers will understand that they were in a hurry to give the title to City with odds of 1.1.

I definitely wouldn't have seen this if not for the notify heh.

Correct on me missing this loss (I put a freebet on this but not any of my own money). Chelsea, Liverpool, Spurs all had better odds (yes, at Etihad of course) so those were bets I took easily.

Villa even at home, I can't be sure against City. It wasn't a value bet in my eyes. I don't mind City losing points, would throw money away for that heh.

Yes, it was not a value bet "before the game". But when I look at the statistics, I understand that Villa was undervalued:

Shots - 22:2
Shots on target – 7:2
Corners – 6:0

In fact, they simply destroyed City and the score 1-0 is a great success for the guests. As I heard throughout the game, only Haaland had one chance and nothing more.
I'm even more impatiently waiting for the tour to end and the bookmakers to update the quotes. It seems to me that we can already say that City were dethroned.

Nice to know you guys can still have fun with Rollbit betting when Champions League is "offline" but buwaytress needs to put the new links here soon as weekend is almost here!

Yes, I would really like to place bets in Pot B in advance as I'm already tired of missing out on it.

I'll spend my promo freebet (refund $50) on next game. So you can't use it for multibet? Means I need to bet on United to win lol Nah it goes to my fav French league Smiley

Yes, you can only use a free bet for a single bet, but in reality this is not a problem since there are always interesting outcomes that seem profitable. Apparently you are confident in Strasbourg and we will look at the result in a few hours. Good luck!
I plan to bet my winnings again on the Champions League games, I prefer to either lose everything or bring the free bet to a significant amount.
1364  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: December 07, 2023, 02:18:24 PM
Mathematically, it's still very much possible for Manchester United to progress to the next round of the UEFA Champions League competition and that's if they can beat Bayern Munich at home while Copenhagen play our a draw against Galatasaray but in my own opinion, they'll need a miracle to reach the round of 16 in the competition because the last two matches in the group is very unlikely to produce such results.  Bayern Munich has been very impressive since the start of the season and are one of the few clubs that are yet to lose a game in the competition so for Manchester United to beat them in that game at Old Trafford next week, they'll have to play to their full strength while hoping for Bayern Munich boss Thomas Tuchel not to field his strongest squad since they've already won the group.

Copenhagen home game against Galatasaray is also unlikely to produce a draw because the two teams knows what's at stake going into the game. Copenhagen will be playing in front of their home fans and that I think will give them extra motivation to win the game and progress to round of 16 while Turkish champions Galatasaray also will be seeking to win the game to reach the knockout stages. Any of the three teams between Manchester United, Copenhagen and Galatasaray can still qualify but Manchester United in my opinion are in a more difficult situation to make to the knockout stages of the competition.

Bookmakers rate United's odds at 1 in 8. That's about a 12% chance of United qualifying. Maybe Bayern will not be in optimal shape because they have an away game against Eitracht Frankfurt the day after tomorrow, but I don’t think that will have a serious impact in the game against United. And I think that United should hope that Bayern beat Eintracht without any problems, because if they lose points they will be extra motivated (the game with Copenhagen where they could not beat Eintracht at home also probably left its mark).

Grin Oh you!
Barcelona is experiencing a certain chaos in transfers, but this is less about Xavi and more about the fact that the club has been on the verge of bankruptcy for the last couple of years, so even if they make the transfer they wanted, they cannot impose their conditions. As in the case of Dembélé, for example. Barcelona is now far from being an attractive club for good/near top players and all the problems come from this (naturally, unresolved financial problems also have a negative impact).

Other than some players Barcelona is trying to hire for their teams, I think should try harder to keep the player they currently have in the team.
For example, currently, Clément Lenglet is seriously close to leaving Barcelona for Bayern Munich and is linked to this team.
He is currently playing at Aston Villa on loan while Bayern Munich wants to hire this French player and improve the team during the winter.

Yes, I wrote a long time ago that there is no point (if I were Barcelona) in trying to maintain the same level of expenses as successful top clubs until they sort out their financial problems. If they fail to sell Lewandowski to Saudi Arabia, then in fact his transfer will be a super failure. Barcelona could well play for a couple of years relying on its academy and young players, but no, Xavi is always trying to buy someone, but due to the salary cap and deteriorating image, Barcelona does not get the best options. At the same time, as can be seen from your example, promising players can be lured by other clubs.

Wink

1368  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ UEFA Euro 2024 in Germany ⚽ - Qualifiers on: December 06, 2023, 09:29:53 PM
^^^ LOL.. Germany has been placed in the easiest possible group. Scotland did well during the qualifiers, but they are not considered as one of the strongest teams in UEFA. The other two teams (Hungary and Switzerland) in Group A doesn't have any chance of qualifying for the knockout stage. On the other hand, Group B is extremely tough with three very strong teams - Spain, Croatia and Italy. Still we don't have the complete picture yet, as the qualifying playoffs are not yet complete. There is a chance that teams like Iceland and Ukraine may qualify.

It would be strange if Germany, as the number 1 seeded team, ended up in a difficult group. Since the number of groups was increased by 50% (from 4 to 6), half of the groups are extremely easy and such an event as a death group almost never occurs. Moreover, if you consider that not only the first two places get to the 1/8 finals, but also four teams that took third place in the groups, it turns out that the entire group stage is a farce.

Xavi is now targeting a new winger to be recruited by the club.

Quote
Barcelona have made contact with Girona winger Savinho ahead of a potential 2024 transfer as Xavi pushes for reinforcements in attack.
https://www.goal.com/en/lists/barcelona-transfer-talks-girona-savinho-xavi-extra-attacking-reinforcements-goal-shy-2023-24/

It seems like that barcelona is trying to hijack important player from girona. I hope savinho will stay much longer in the club. Will barcelona take another loan to buy him? this club has not yet sorted out its financial problem. Xavi was so dumb. This guy is always buying the players but barcelona was rarely making profit. Xavi can keep try to buy more players and keep the old players till those guys will be leaving with free agent. I shall give xavi an applause caused by his strategy will make barcelona goes bankrupt even faster.

barcelona rarely selling its player in profit. Barcelona has very big expenses and the club now in negative balance sheet. Xavi shall not be dumb enough to recruit the new players without even see the financial condition of club.
Im waiting for what's gonna be the next move from xavi. Hijacking competitor's player will not always become the best solution.

Today I read that UEFA is going to let Christiano Ronaldo's Al Nassr to participate in UEFA Champion's League. Does anyone know if that's true? If that's true, then we will be able to see Christiano Ronaldo playing against European teams to win Champions League. I think Al Nassr is a weak team but it will be amazing to be able to see him playing in Europe again. If they let Christiano's Al Nassr to play in Champions League, then they will also let Messi's Inter Miami to play in Champions league too and we will be able to see two GOATs again. I hope this is not a rumor and it's true. Can anyone confirm it?

So far there is no confirmation of these rumors. And I would not pay attention to rumors at all, since they are often fantastic, for example, just recently I read that the Saudis have a plan to buy out the entire European Champions League and change it by making it a world Champions League. It sounds cool, but unfortunately this is also just a rumor and most likely someone’s invention.
And by the way, I don’t understand why you call Al-Nasr a weak team - all sorts of Victoria, Red Star, Young Boys, etc. regularly play in the Champions League. Al-Nasr is clearly stronger than them.

They will try to beat each other and get 3 points. Girona want to stay away from Barca and Barca want to get closer to staying on the path of the La Liga champions. But mentally, I feel very confident if Barcelona are able to win and the worst result is 1 point. Girona are going strong but I'm not pessimistic about Barcelona. It seems that there is only a 10 percent chance of Barcelona dropping points.

Yes, this is the third draw in a row for City and there is a game with Aston Villa ahead - I wonder who will bet against City? A fourth draw in a row against a team at the top of the league looks quite logical.
What surprised me most was that I guessed the exact score of the Chelsea - Brighton game. Lol I don’t even remember what I was thinking when I chose 3-2, but besides me, another person made a prediction for this outcome.

I guess buwa always bets against them he must be feeling so annoyed he didn't go for DNB or DB. I guess odds look good for them to lose but not for anything else.

3-2 seems getting more and more common I try them now in other leagues (2-1 is my most boring but most safe pick to me also like you said aboe it's the "best" outcome for almost the most common results).

Buwaytress likes bets with odds of 10, I’m not sure that odds of 4.70 (as the Aston Villa win is currently quoted) will attract him.
I hope City will lose points again and the bookmakers will understand that they were in a hurry to give the title to City with odds of 1.1.

That other person will be more. I initially picked a 2-2 draw, but after the Europa league match that Brighton played and their depleted squad expected Chelsea to come out on top, with their home advantage, so I changed it on the matchday to 3-2 in favour of Chelsea. Really surprised it turned out correct.

I am really gutted Nketiah hit the post with the chance in the final minutes to take Arsenal 3-1 ahead. That would have been another exact score.

- Jay -

If I remember correctly, I paid attention to the Total from the bookmakers, plus the fact that Chelsea began to score a lot and concede a lot, and it seemed to me that 3-2 fits well into the pattern.
Regarding Arsenal, I thought they would win 3-0. I was a little mistaken  Grin

Regarding the AS Roma v Fiorentina match, at least I only said that maybe AS Roma will fail to win, and that doesn't mean AS Roma will lose. Because ya, anyway, sofar this season atleast AS Roma has had better results for home matches. But ya, if for example you might be betting on Fiorentina, then maybe you could choose the double chance option. Or maybe, you can also choose the Asian handicap option by choosing Fiorentina +x.xx, and I think that will still give you good odds, considering that AS Roma is still the favorite team in this match.

Judging by Roma's latest results, the team is on the rise, so I think it's too risky to bet against them, especially if it's a home game for Roma. In addition, the odds for Roma to win are quite attractive and justify the risk:

2.08 - 3.28 - 3.58

I am sure that Roma will win at least one of two such games. Fiorentina's double chance odds are 1.67, which doesn't look lucrative.
1374  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League 2023/24 Season on: December 06, 2023, 05:51:47 PM
Villarreal will simply use this match to catch up with Rennes in the group F table, despite the fact that goal difference will put Rennes ahead of them because Maccabi Haifa is not a good enough team to stand up to Villarreal because even Panathinaikos was better than them because they were able to win Villarreal in the first leg and draw them as well, and I am very confident they will win them in the second leg even though they will both be eliminated

Isn't the result of personal matches taken into account first of all in case of equality of points? Villarreal won the first game against Rennes and if they now win the game they have in hand they will move up to first place. Taking into account the fact that Panathinaikos and Maccabi are too far away, in the last round a draw will be enough for Villarreal to remain in first place.

Ten Hag, as always, was late (although even on time he makes strange decisions, or vice versa early... in short, he made a mistake again) with the substitutions. The wooden Rashford and Martial should have been changed at half-time. And another double substitution 10 minutes before the end of normal time. I would rather believe that Newcastle will score than that United will come back.
The problem that often occurs at Man United is the line-up that Ten Hag uses, especially regarding player substitutions during matches. sometimes this is really surprising and not at all what we think. And in the end, Man United had to admit defeat to Newcastle, even though Newcastle only scored 1 goal, losing was still losing. Newcastle with 3 full points can surpass Man United in 6th position.
~

According to rumors, Ten Hag's problems were further aggravated by the fact that the players no longer understood (in the sense of approving) the intensity of training. And they have questions about tactics because they have little understanding of what United are playing - in general, Ten Hag has lost the dressing room.
I don’t know if it’s true or not, but if United lose to Chelsea today, Ten Hag will be sacked.
Today I support Chelsea with all my heart!  Grin

It was easy:

I was a little surprised that you can only make a single bet and not a multi-bet as I like, but I was lucky to see such favorable odds for a draw and guessed right. I think I’ll make a big multi-bet using this money for the next round of the Champions League. Although today's games in the Premier League also look attractive. As always I like the City bet - if I lose it to them I'll still be happy  Grin
1377  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Odds, units advantage | Sportsbook | +93056 units on: December 06, 2023, 04:25:39 PM
So near, and yet so far. If you told me I would lose bets on City losing but thhey'd still drop points, I'd be asking when I could do it again. Arsenal have surprised me this season, really, and I actually haven't watched them play much but as hot as they are, I doubt last season you could get these kinds of odds away, even against Luton.

Call me naive but one simply cannot allow such odds to pass you by:

100 units on Luton Town to WIN vs Arsenal @18.60. Other odds: 17.30. Units advantage: 130

Running advantage after 43 bets: +4009 (+130)
All-time cumulative: +93,869
Running units after 42 bets (3W|39L): -2012 (-100)

It's a pity that the bet on City's defeat against Aston Villa is currently quoted at odds of 4.70. This outcome looks quite logical and probable (three draws in a row by City indicate some problems), but the coefficient is very small.
As for the previous bets, you were close almost everywhere, I wonder when the fluctuation will occur in your favor.

In my opinion, there are quite interesting quotes for the game Aston Villa - City:

4.21 - 4.12 - 1.72

Despite the fact that City are stricken with a drawn series and cannot win head-to-head matches against direct competitors, bookmakers rate them very highly. The difference between the teams is only 1 point. Should we expect City to "revert to the mean" and start winning, or will they finally lose? If they lose, a third loss in 15 games would be highly unusual. Therefore, I would rather bet on City drawing again (although I am biased as I rooting against them).
Of course it's very interesting odds. The bookie gives high odds for City, even though in fact based head to head on paper City is superior.
But in my opinion it's a very difficult match to predict, but also on the other side I hope City win, to stay in the title race. Although maybe it won't be easy for City, because Aston Villa have a good record in their last five matches, and they will be playing at home so the possibility of a draw result in this match is quite high. Although also in other side City is ahead based on head to head vs Aston Villa, but City last five matches is also not very impressive. To bet, maybe a draw would be very interesting for me to bet on, odds 4 are quite tempting.

Even if City lose they will remain in the title race (although I would like them to drop out). A bet on a draw is really very interesting with such odds - usually it is lower, about 3.3, but in this case it looks profitable. I rarely bet on draws, but by the way, yesterday I bet on a draw in the Celta - Cadiz game (the odds were also slightly higher than 4) and won.
In this game, any outcome where City loses points will be pleasant for me even if I don’t bet.
