801  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: DCA method on: October 10, 2023, 01:56:08 AM
You have no excuse not to acquire Bitcoin, this is one of my most used word when
discussing with my friends that have
high interest in crypto, but don't have capital too buy.

Since I introduced the DCA method to them, it was a game changer too them,
DCA is the best way for low income earners to acquire more Bitcoin.

I don't know if anyone else has different opinion about it?

DCA is most effective if you buy at the bottom. I have found that using time parameters and probabilities is a good way to DCA. If it seems probable that the price will keep going down (for example due to ongoing FUD), then might as well wait out the negative uncertainty. Of course it could go the other way, but if this step is repeated often enough, you will find that you have the advantage over normal DCA.

Of course this only goes for people who have a decent understanding of fundamental and technical analysis.

802  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting significant amount on: October 09, 2023, 06:29:43 PM
I'm always betting significant amount when I'm in the losing streak, Let's say only 30% left from my original bankroll after playing 1hr to 4hrs of non-stop Blackjack.

I always bet all-in which is my remaining bankroll that is significant amount for me on a 25% win chance rate bet on dice game. My heart palpitates during this bet and I really love the intense feeling. Most of the time I lose on this but it's really worth it if I win since I recover my original bankroll plus sweet profit of 20% of my bankroll.

I'm always doing this whenever I'm down after long gambling session just to finish with a big bang of surprise. When I lose at least I experience the thrill same with win since I have profit.

Are you doing this intense gambling experience by betting significant amount of your bankroll? This is insane but worth it if you are a thrill seeker for entertainment.

I gamble purely for entertainment, therefore I do not bet large amounts of money. I think that would be a waste, as with gambling, you will definitely lose in the long term. And I do not belong to the group of "once-in-a-lifetime winning bet" dreamers who would bet their entire paycheck for a chance at winning a large amount of money. Sure it is possible, just not probable. I do not feel as though I need to either win rich or not have money at all.

And when you play with small amounts of money, you feel way less sad and anxious. Even if you lose.

804  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 08, 2023, 10:41:39 PM
Is the regulation good? Because I don't agree, BTC was made to not pay anything to governments, banks or something similar, because it is not fiat money, having BTC is to manage our money as we want, not to declare to governments or banks.

Regulation is inevitable. As long as the state exists, it will strive to take control of everything it can. In all other cases of regulation, is what the state regulates and what it collects taxes from done by the state? Obviously, in many cases this is not the case.

You are right that Satoshi has created a beautiful thing that does not depend on states or banks because it is decentralized. And the state has no control over the blockchain. But as soon as you spend your bitcoins on something, as soon as you exchange them for fiat money, you enter into a state-controlled space, and in this space the state regulates. Stay in Bitcoin and you can ignore the government for this part.

No, I would have to disagree. In some cases regulation is not good, nor is it inevitable. For example when it becomes completely redundant and serves as "Security Theater" (while being completely unenforceable). All that does is create more bureaucratic nonsense that we have to accept or face punishment.
805  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Craig "Faketoshi" Wright saga continues. His team turns against him. on: October 06, 2023, 09:44:44 PM
No idea if anyone is still interested in the adventures of our good friend, Dr Craig Wright, who, for those who got into Bitcoin recently, claims to be the real Satoshi Nakamoto, but I'm glad to hear that his biggest backer, Calvin Ayre, finally lost a fate and is turning his back on him.
Hopefully this will indicate the end of Wright's strange endeavors. Many found him a good laughing stock, but he did cause a lot of troubles to many individuals, including some Bitcoin developers, with his nonsensical lawsuits.

More on the story:
https://www.forbes.com/sites/digital-assets/2023/10/02/shocking-leak-blows-up-mystery-of-bitcoin-creator-satoshi-nakamoto/

https://twitter.com/agerhanssen/status/1708628458404708850

I used to be completely outraged by this faketoshis actions. But slowly I am realizing that he is only a mentally ill guy and instead of getting help, we are fueling his delusions. He is a clown that the entire world is laughing at. He needs to be locked up in a mental health facility and treated. He is either doing this for the attention or he truly believes his own lies.

Either way, I think its a symptom of some kind of neurological or psychological problem. We should stop giving him so much attention.
806  Economy / Economics / Re: Women are more economical than men. on: October 06, 2023, 07:42:40 PM
We had this argument where I was the opinion that most men spend money on things that they are obligated to and cannot control it at times due to responsibilities, men are used to spending money already and because of being used to it, they can find it hard to be as economical as women can be. Do you agree with this unpopular opinion that women are more economical when it comes to money and are able to manage themselves and their homes better than men do?

That women are more economic than men would make a lot of sense, in the biological evolutionary sense. Back when we were cavemen/women the women were responsible for the household and hording food for survival while men were out hunting. The more economic a woman was, the better the chance of survival for the entire family. Perhaps even the whole tribe.

Women are also not as risky as men and do a lot of long term thinking. Without such economic behavior, humans would have died a long time ago.

Thank you, girls!
807  Economy / Gambling / Re: what are the best crypto casinos! on: October 06, 2023, 03:45:39 PM
It is surprising that Sportsbet has a 1.9 rating out of 5 in TrustPilot, but a 4.5 (4.1 user rating) in Btcgosu. I have never gambled there but I know the brand because of avatars from signature campaigns, I guess, and it seems that the reason for such a low rate in TP is that it has several scam accusations, but only there.

Do you guys know what happened there? is it some kind of maneuver orchestrated by the competition, a very annoying user who was very upset about something, or is something really wrong with the casino? And OP, why is it among your top picks? I would investigate more about it myself, but taking into account that it is in red in the opening post I think that it would be interesting to clear it up in this thread.

I do like to look at both review sites and forums. Although I trust review sites less.

What are the chances that these casino are giving each other fake reviews in order to drown out competition or disgruntled bad losers making fake accusations? There really is no quality control when it comes to rating sites. Thats really the main reason why I tend to be wary of rating/review websites. Especially since these rating websites also usually ask for money in return for good reviews which are supposed to look real. I prefer to see what veteran members of communities like Bitcointalk say about those casinos.

But if I see many ratings saying the same thing then the probability is high that there is a real problem.
808  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I choose Bitcoin on: October 06, 2023, 12:54:35 PM
Yesterday my partner came up with an idea to deposit a good some of money in a fixed deposit account on an online banking platform offering a 13% interest rate, they offered to pay the interest upfront but the initial deposite would be locked in till the exact stipulated time. Though this may sound like a good deal I discouraged him from making this investment for the following reasons.
Firstly with the rate at which the traditional currency in my country is steadily loosing value and the proposed profit and initial deposit might just be valueless at the matured time this deal might be of little or no value.
Secondly these platforms in my opinion cannot be trusted as different reasons can lead to their folding up and shutting down. I understand that life's a risk but some risks are not worth taking.
On the other hand I offered a solution. I asked him to invest in Bitcoin, now even though the price of bitcoin is volatile, in my opinion it is still more profitable to invest in Bitcoin especially for long term investment than in any fixed deposit scheme.
If you were in the position to give financial advice to someone looking for a long term financial investment, what would you advice?...

In my experience, giving people financial advice is nothing but a recipe for disaster. You could, in the end, even be legally sued if the person in question makes a loss and decides to blame you. I do not recommend it. Personally I have never heard of anyone I know getting in legal trouble for giving bad financial advice but it can happen.

You can recommend Bitcoin and name all the reasons why you think it is a good investment but if the person is dubious, there is no point in trying to convince them. Sooner or later they will realize the potential of Bitcoin by themselves without your help. And it will be less of a headache for you.

People need to feel like they discovered an investment opportunity for themselves.
809  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Invest only in Bitcoin and never invest in shitcoin on: October 05, 2023, 06:18:40 PM
Altcoins have their own uses so I do not see them as something which you should never buy. I like to use altcoins like Monero when I need full privacy or BSC/ETH when I want to use DeFi or other smart contract platforms. They are indeed very useful. However they are merely carbon copies of Bitcoin with some add ons or slight changes. The reason why this is dangerous is because we do not know how secure these changes are. We know Bitcoin has been around for a very long time now and this is what make it so trustworthy. Altcoins get hacked every other week.

Bitcoin is therefore a good option for long-term investment while altcoins are short term.
810  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you gamble till old age or not on: October 05, 2023, 03:41:12 PM
Why would I stop in my old age? If anything, in my old age I would care less about losing money, since there would be no more point in hoarding money anyway. Not to say that I would gamble irresponsibly or stupidly. I just think that the impact of losing would be much reduced by that age. So I think that unless I develop a gambling problem, I will probably keep on gambling and I would not much care about what people think of me at that point in age.

Although knowing the government and how we keep losing our rights and freedom slowly but surely over time, there might not even be gambling in the future. Along with any risky or addictive activity that we consider normal today.
811  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have You Ever Made Such Mistake Before, But Won still? on: October 05, 2023, 01:37:54 PM
Hi guys,
Lucky me actually..
....

So by this experience, I am moved to ask you guys if any one of you have ever made such a mistake, but it turned out in your favor? Please share with us.

I indeed did have such an experience. But not in gambling but in trading Bitcoin derivatives, lol. I did once mistakenly put in a very large number in for the leverage and almost lost everything. The liquidation was like half a % away from me losing all my money. But lucky for me, in almost the same minute, there was a sudden pump. I made some money and it made me happy. But I am aware that this was a lucky mistake and that most times it goes the other way. Should something like this happen again, I won't hesitate to cancel my order (or in the case of gambling, my bet).
812  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Hypothetical Question on: October 05, 2023, 12:00:09 PM
If someone told you a guaranteed sports bet that had a 100% chance of winning, how much would you bet on it?

If you had a $10,000 bankroll, would you go all in? We’re talking 100% can’t lose bet.

Would you take out a loan? How would you go about acquiring a large sum of money if you didn’t have the capital.

Let’s say the match is starting 24 hours from now, what would be your plan to maximize your profit?

Asking for a friend  Wink

No. Never. Why would you trust somebody who gives you a tip which includes 100% chance of winning? That is so sketchy. At some point your common sense starts ringing alarms and if you do not see anything wrong with taking out a loan just because someone told you that you have a 100% chance of winning, then you should stay away from gambling altogether, because that with that level of naivety, you will definitely lose 100% of you money, 100% of all the time.

Instead, you need to start questioning yourself. Why would someone give you a such a tip? What is their goal? Could they be working together with somebody else to take all your money and play you like a fool?

Because that sounds more realistic to me.
813  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My regret for not adopting bitcoin earlier. on: October 04, 2023, 08:56:30 PM
Hindsight's a tough teacher, right? Don't beat yourself up; many of us had our doubts about Bitcoin at first. The important thing is, you're embracing it now. Welcome to the crypto rollercoaster, my friend!
^
I totally and completely agree with this guy.

The important part is not to be too hard on yourself if you missed your chance to invest into something really exciting. But that is not your fault. You cannot see the future. Blaming yourself for not investing earlier is psychologically counterproductive and we are not able to see the future and if we were, nobody would be rich because everyone would have the same ability and nobody would be able to gain an advantage.

Lets just all be happy that we embraced Bitcoin before it unfolded its full ROI potential. And it will. But until then, we will keep on hodling and gathering more and more. Cheesy
814  Economy / Economics / Re: Small Scale Business Ideas on: October 04, 2023, 05:52:19 PM
On this board I often see a lot of discussions related to investment and finance which tend to be large scale. However, to start investing we need capital. How do you find capital for investment?

Let's talk about small scale businesses that have low risks and promising profits so that we can have capital to invest and become passive income in the future.

Do you have a small business idea? or business experience? I want to hear it

There are different kinds of investments. Not only the monetary kind.

What about investing your time? That is worth much more than money. If you have the skills, the knowledge and the time you can make money out of thin air, practically. For everything else there are loans.

A small scale business is really the only kind of business where you can get away on a very low budget or even a non-existent budget (depending on the business, of course). You cannot really do the same with a bigger business.
815  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Before you take sides on: October 04, 2023, 04:01:36 PM
We all know how people used to be protective when trying to explain how someone treated them badly, they always want to be the winner and if you are not smart you can fight the wrong war for them, later you will find out that they are the problem.

Gamblers are telling stories about how they got banned because they are winning too much, I will like to tell you not to believe everything people tell you, these stories typically have another side of the story, there is a high probability that these gamblers have broken some rules along the way.

For reputable casinos, banning players that have won a lot of money legally is bad for their business, the casinos knows that the word of the mouth spreads faster than anything, so I believe that a reputable casino do their strong research before they use their ban hammer.

Before you take sides with gamblers claiming they get banned for winning too much, remember that casinos are good at monitoring and preventing fraudulent behaviors, you break some rules you are out, and no cheater want to admit that they cheat.

I think that most people who cheat and get caught, only to later come here on this forum to complain about/accuse the online gambling casino of scamming them are people who cannot hold themselves to a personal standard of honor and justice. But casinos also have made mistakes in the past and they need to be held accountable. So we should not judge before we have all the facts and all the evidence. Only after investigating objectively, we can make an honest assumption of what really transpired between the gambler and the casino.

We are not arbiters but the casinos should know not to disrespect their gamblers or any connected communities. Not only are they a major source of new gamblers but also a major source of new ideas. That alone deserves respect. And if the casinos decide to openly disrespect their community, then they should suffer the consequences.

For them its a business, for us it is community entertainment.
816  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: bc.game not honouring deposit bonus on: October 04, 2023, 01:10:29 PM

A casino creates their term in such way that whatever they will do, they are right. Something happen when it was not in their term, they will add another term later to save their ass and will justify your case with the newly added term. As a customer you always need to agree with it or your option is to leave them.

They cannot just randomly add and edit things like that so simply. There are regulations in place and if they go against them, they can face heavy legal trouble. Otherwise they could write anything in there, including any money deposited into their platform must stay there or it belongs to them or something.

Going by the sheer amount of topics against BC game, I would think that BC game has been acting very suspiciously, at best.

But do not get me wrong, if they could they definitely would. And I am sure this would ring true for every casino, not just the one in question right now in this topic. But as long as we stay strong and stubborn, they cannot do as they wish.
817  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 04, 2023, 10:39:53 AM
So I'm fixing a friends's iPhone because he forgot his passcode and the software just gave me an ominous warning:

Do not what?!  What?!?!
I'm hoping it didn't say "buddy block"

Don't worry about it.

You will be fine as long as you don't                   . Okay?
818  Economy / Economics / Re: Do we truly need cbdc when bitcoin already exist? on: October 03, 2023, 05:43:45 PM
We never needed a CBDC after the creation of Bitcoin. A CBDC would have been a regulatory improvement for fiat and only for fiat. But then we would have a broken currency being endlessly printed by the government with an China level of financial dystopia where the government has to approve the things you can or cannot buy, depending on the laws and your own social credit score. Its disgusting and inhumane.

Bitcoin is the hero we need. And we should remember that.
819  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 03, 2023, 03:12:55 PM
What are the chances the Fried Sam Stinkman actually gets 110 years?

My guess is he will get no more than 10% of that considering Maxine Waters blew him kisses and the corrupt DNC link.

I would not be surprised if he serves a smaller sentence. He was used to launder gigantic sums of war money for shady actors and now he is left with the bill. But if he says too much then he will be disposed of, one way or another. Just like any other useful idiot.

820  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: New ID requirements for Gamblers in Australia on: October 03, 2023, 03:06:42 PM
A few days ago i shared a news where Australia will ban Gambling through credit cards, now it seems that they are moving another step ahead in this and now Australia Introduces New ID Requirements for Online Gamblers

The general purpose for this is to reduce gambling in Australia but they will make excuses that this is done to overcome underage gambling etc.
Quote
The measure would mitigate certain problems such as underage gambling or gambling harm, Responsible Wagering Australia says

Although most casinos ask for KYC, yet minors still gamble on their elders ' IDs (Elder brother or father). I wonder by introducing this ID verification what special Australia is looking to achieve from it?

Underage gambling is and always has been nothing but an excuse for the government to introduce regulations which are completely useless and can be tricked by mere children. Its obviously coming from a place of pure politics rather than a true desire to stem the gambling habits and addictions of children. And lets be completely honest, how many children actually steal their parents or big brothers credit cards or ID's just to gamble? And how long can they keep it a secret? Those kinds of children do exist but they are the absolute minority, I would think. Its just not realistic.

What I think is happening is that Australian politicians are looking to gather brownie points for the next election. Thats how it works in any democratic country. Its a complete mess and everyone pretends that that is not what is happening.
