901  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Avoid Procrastination, Buy Bitcoin And Prepare For The Next Halving. on: July 08, 2023, 07:24:17 PM
I do not think that there is anyone who would procrastinate when it comes to buying bitcoin in preparation for the next halving. If wishes were horses but not everyone has the means to buy bitcoin as they would want to. A lot of people may have a major problem which is financial constraint to be able to invest buy bitcoin now in hope for the halving.  Basically, what I would advice folks is that they should prioritize buying bitcoin now. The price may or may not go up after the next halving we cannot tell. We are only relying on past data to predict the future and as you have rightly said, when there is shortage of supply and high demand, the price would go up.

We have some individuals that'll be procrastinating and many of them are on the forum, how you'll know they have procrastinated is when Bitcoin rises but they'll be all negative in their replies wishing for Bitcoin to correct again so they can buy. Some individual still think we haven't gotten to the bottom of the bear maket as some are calling for Bitcoin to fall to below $20k again and probably fall lower.

I think this set of individual needs to get their heads together or they'll be missing out on an opportunity to get bitcoin at a very low prices. Bitcoin is climbing up and it has been holding a strong support above $30k, soon the price might start increasing to $31k and above.
One thing is certain, those who procrastinate from buying and hodling bitcoin might have their own, individual reasons. It could be lack of finances or budget, or it could be because of doubt and fears that bitcoin will end up as a big scam just like most of the investments online. Well, if they will stick to these, they will continue to miss bitcoin opportunities and may end up regretting seeing those who take the risk have finally paid off and become successful. But those who remain fearful and doubtful will never see progress in their own lives.

No news yet on Dame's trade, seems to be so quiet and it only means no deal has been done or there are still like ironing things out.

Currently, there are no concrete news about Dame's trade and Portland is still giving the Heat the chance to have Dame this offseason.
Regarding about the trade, it seems that a 3rd party is needed on the trade and it's the Brooklyn Nets who surfaced amongst all teams who are interested to facilitate it because Portland have changed their mind and that they are now not interested in getting Tyler Herro.

Here's the Mock Trade:

Miami Heat gets:
Damian Lillard
Jusuf Nurkic

Portland Trail Blazers gets:
Ben Simmons
Kyle Lowry
Nikola Jovic
2028 first-round pick (via Brooklyn)
2028 first-round pick (via Miami)
2030 first-round pick (via Miami)

Brooklyn Nets gets:
Tyler Herro
2026 second-round pick (via Miami)

903  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: July 06, 2023, 05:42:24 PM
It might take sometime though as Canelo has bolted out of Matchroom. And so Bivol will have to move on and fine another fighter and not just solely chase Canelo. He could defend his belt and continue at 175 lbs. Of course, there is also a unification fight in the horizon for him with Arthur Beterbiev. So there's a lot of opportunity for him in the future.
The unification fight between Bivol and Beterbiev is not yet on the horizon as long as the war between Ukraine and Russia persist because the sanctioning bodies are not that inclined to make the fight into reality, right now, it has been said that Bivol is arranging his information so that he will not be connected in any Russian conflicts as that will give some halt in his careers, just like the Bivol vs Canelo fight, it's been said that up until now, the paycheck is still not on his hands.

Quote
Canelo as well will have his one fight this September. What's interesting is who will be his next opponent as there are news that it might be another Mexican in David Benavidez. And this want fight fans is hoping for May next year.
Hopefully that will happen so that we can see that real abilities of the kid infront of the undisputed champion and so that there will be no speculation that Canelo is ducking the uprising star that will soon replace his title at SMW. And of course, so that the kid will be given the chance of a lifetime as he earned his place to be the next foe of Canelo.

Only Bivol is affected though, but if they can have Bivol vs Canelo during the war then why stopping him from fighting again? Politics shouldn't meddle in. the sports in my opinion. Beterbiev is already fighting as a Canadian, just for your info. He has a Canadian citizenship,

https://www.sportsmanor.com/boxing-news-artur-beterbiev-nationality-is-he-canadian-or-russian/

The one that has been holding up this fight is their manager, Beterbiev is with Top Rank, under Bob Arum, and then Bivol with Match Room and Eddie Hearn. This two promotional manager is having a verbal war in the public.

https://www.boxingscene.com/arum-united-states-eddie-hearn-considered-joke--170936
https://www.boxingscene.com/eddie-hearn-hits-back-bob-arum-top-rank-completely-finished-espn-contract-gone--174959

I don't think you are following because I certainly believe that we have already established that fact and already know beforehand that Artur Beterbiev is a Canadian citizen and has been living in the mentioned country for almost 20 years now. The only thing that connects him to Russia is that he was born at that country, nothing else.

For Dmitry Bivol, just like what I mentioned above, the unification match is not really possible at the moment because the sanctioning bodies are not allowing it to happen. Bob Arum of the Top Rank and Eddie Hearn of the DAZN is the least of their problems because Bob Arum himself already stressed before that the unification fight is only possible is if he will organize it and not Eddie Hearn and it is reasonable enough because it is them who holds three of the four belts existing.
904  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo Alvarez vs Jermell Charlo - September 30th in Las Vegas on: July 06, 2023, 05:17:16 PM
Canelo vs. Charlo is similar to an altcoin ICO. Hype it then take the money. Fans go home shaking their heads after watching an ordinary fight hehe.

Hahaha, very true. We have seen how Canelo performed against Ryder which many thought that he would demolish the latter as a bounce-back performance after that loss to Bivol but that doesn't happen and we didn't see that extraordinary effort on Canelo's side so this time around I don't expect Canelo would be extraordinary. It would be better for his promoters to realize this so they will give the fans what they really wanted, a fight with Bivol or Benavidez.

We might only witness Canelo's best against opponents like Bivol or Benavidez. These are other opponents are only accepted by Canelo to warm his body and to make his money.

On Canelo's future, he might make one more offer for Bivol, if he does not accept, I speculate Canelo will try to negotiate a big money fight with Benavidez then retire.

Yes, that might be the case but that decision comes with some risks because if he choose to fight Bivol or Benavidez in a later date, we cannot really expect that he will be fighting just like the way he used to because that also means that he is much older by that time and there's wear and tear that could play a big factor to his upcoming fights.
Speaking about age, Canelo Alvarez will turn and celebrate his 33rd birthday this coming 18th.
905  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The fight between Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk. Who you betting on? on: July 06, 2023, 04:04:35 PM
but if they are going to have weapon then maybe there will be a different result  Grin Elon Musk is actively engaging in fitness and action aswe can see in His built and indeed that no doubt he will win if the fight happens near time.
but if  this will be happening in the next 5-10 years? while Mark is now practicing boxing as internet says? maybe the result will go sideways.

Grin Good one! Next 5-10 years will be all different as Musk will grow old by 10 years and would be 61. Zukberg will be only 49 and he would still be fit at that time. Mark would become a pro in boxing by that time and who know he might learn some other martial art, it won't be easy for Musk to defend him and most probably he won't accept the fight. As the probability of Mark winning the bout will be high than Musk

Age is just a number. For example, Arnold Schwarzenegger is 75 years old. If there is a cage fight between him and someone like Logan Paul (28 years old), who do you think will be the winner? IMO, Musk looks much more athletic and healthy when compared to Zuckerberg. BTW, the real fight has already started, and it is between Twitter and Threads (Meta). Zuckerberg believes that support from left-wing loonies will help him to overtake Twitter in micro-blogging domain. I will be more skeptical. Replacing a well established platform such as Twitter will be extremely difficult.

Everything has its own beginning and I wouldn't be surprised if this newly launched platform that is called "The Thread" will surpass an app like Twitter that has been known for quite some time now but it won't be that easy because an app like Twitter is more established compared to this new app.

About Mark and Elon's fight (I don't think it will indeed happen by the way), I don't really know who got the upper hand because it turns out that both of them have trained with Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu even before this fight surfaced through the internet.

907  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue | WBC & WBO 122 lbs bout | July 25 on: July 05, 2023, 02:30:13 PM
If in case he will win and Casimero will continue his winning stats, we might see them meeting in the same ring as long as Inoue
choose to stay in this current division.

f Inoue is also willing to fight Casimero, it would be intriguing, considering that Inoue had a chance to face Casimero in the bantamweight division but chose not to pursue it. Now that they will meet in the super bantamweight division, hopefully Casimero will become a mandatory challenger, leaving Inoue with no excuses to avoid fighting him.

Let's just hope that Inoue will stay in the super-bantamweight division for a little bit longer so that him and Casimero will meet and dance in the same ring because considering that Inoue will be successful in his upcoming fight with Stephen Fulton, there is a huge chance that he will go directly at Marlon Tapales to unify all the belts as long as he will not be mandated by the WBC to defend his belts against Casimero or anybody who holds the title as the challenger.
908  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Let's find out which gambling game is the most played among our community... on: July 05, 2023, 02:05:07 PM
I also like the two games, namely Sports Betting and Slots. Slots will make me not stop playing until I get some Jackpots, only a small amount of money I bet on slots.

Yes, every gambler likes these two types of gambling, I have never met a gambler who has never even played at least once a month, LOL. Based on your statement, what if you don't hit some jackpots? are you going to make another deposit afterwards?

That wouldn't be called a gambler if that somebody will not play or gamble for at least once a month Grin I haven't met that kind as well or it's just that they don't really exist as we call them a gambler for a reason, so it's kind of automatic to think that they will play for at least once or twice a week.

I will not hit any jackpot on that day or not lucky enough, I will just call it a day to end that madness because I like to think that it is not really my lucky day.
909  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 05, 2023, 01:44:33 PM
San Antonio can be a good place for an old Damian Lillard, when the number 1 draft diamond boy learning from him. The only thing that prevent this to happen its San Antonio never had a star player on hiw file, and yes tim duncan parker ginobili were stars but they are formed in San Antonio.
And DL its more individual player than collective.

That would be a lot of fun to see those two play together, but I do t think I see Lillard wanting to go there. Sure they got Greg Popavich who’s an absolutely legendary coach whom is revered by players, but I think it’s going to take more than one sensational (potentially) rookie for them to win a championship.

I would expect him to go to a little bit more mature of a team. But he’s also not a free agent so thats obviously going to hurt his shot at going yo the teams he really wants to.

The San Antonio Spurs got the right aces to get Dame Lillard if they really wanted to but it turns out that they are prioritizing the younger generations as of now because even if they can, they are not engaging in the talks to acquire Dame to the franchise. Of course coach Pop can do a hell of a job but just like what you guys are saying, it's not what the Spurs want and it's not what Dame wants.
910  Economy / Economics / Re: Should I Use Emergency funds or Sell my Assets ? on: July 02, 2023, 07:26:18 PM
Inflation really hit us hard these days. That’s the reason why we need to increase more of our sources of income than just settle in a single job and find it hard to make ends meet. That way, our emergency funds and our assets will not be compromised considering that they might be of great use for our children in the future. So instead of trying to rely from our emergency funds and some valuable assets, go and get another job or side hustle that will suit your profession and in which your knowledge and skills will be greatly maximized.
911  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Beginners Should Follow These To Be A Good Price Predictor on: July 02, 2023, 07:07:16 PM
Your take doesn't necessarily mean that if you do any stuff with the things OP things listed, it's still no guarantee you will get any of the prices right. Being an indicator of price isn't necessarily equate to just following it. It's still up to the market.
There’s no such thing as perfect price predictor knowing the market is very much volatile and unpredictable. Regardless if you have high experiences in the market, price prediction is still hard to master and I think no one will come to master it as long as the market remains totally unpredictable because of its price fluctuations from time to time. Even if you follow all the factors listed by OP, being a good price predictor is still hard to expect. Just face the reality that in trading, perfect price prediction remains impossible most of the time.
912  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Not Another Merit Question. Please Hear Me Out on: July 02, 2023, 06:41:54 PM
The purpose of introducing merit to the forum was to encourage users to be productive rather than spamming aimlessly. In essence, if you contribute valuable posts that are recognized by other users, you can earn merit points effortlessly. Personally, I have amassed over 2,000 merits, which was no simple feat. However, I never set specific goals for earning merits; instead, I simply contribute to the forum to the best of my abilities.
Meriting system has its clear goal not to make the posters obsessed about it but to create more motivation and encourage newbies to improve their post quality so they won’t end up spamming in the forum. With merits, newbies are entitled for high rank position once they consistently post high quality and valuable discussion. However, in my time, though meriting system is not that important, and so I just remain active in the forum and just continue to contribute based on what i know that will be beneficial for other members.
913  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How big is your optimism for crypto investment? on: July 02, 2023, 06:20:33 PM
If there's one thing for now to describe the market and mainly for Bitcoin, it's here to stay and there's no doubt with that.

While there's a mixed emotions and thoughts of how long it gonna stay, we have no idea for how long so just get into the present but don't lose the thought that it's got a brighter future.

The interest stays on it and based on my experience, it's scary at first until you experience the first halving of your life and then the bull run and there goes the bear market.

So for someone who's optimistic of Bitcoin's growth, I'll likely wait until it reaches newer highs such as 6 digits to 7 digits and even more.
I’ve been here in the market for long and so I now learned to be more optimistic because I know bitcoin price will never settle at its low price but will surely strive hard to reach into another peak again. Although I’ve no certain time when will it happen, but let’s just patiently wait for it knowing bitcoin is bound to reach its new all time high especially that bitcoin halving is near to happen. And hopefully by that time, bitcoin price has already entered its new 6 digits or will even exceed more from our expectations.
914  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading is risky, be conscious on: July 01, 2023, 09:59:29 PM
Over the time, I've seen people wanting to go into trading because they feel or think is a get rich quick scheme but get so disappointed along the process because the result they get isn't what was expected.
Trading is a very lucrative business but also a very risky business as well and as such should be done with so much caution.
What would be your advice for those wanting to trade as a newbie?
Do not trade until you become ready to trade not just in terms of knowledge and skills, but also in terms of your finances as taking a loan is never advisable especially if you are a beginner trader. And never trade because you believe that it’s a shortcut to make you rich, but only decide to trade because you are confident as a trader and you have high faith in yourself because of the acquired sufficient knowledge and developed good strategies that will be useful in trading successfully.
915  Economy / Economics / Re: Has everyone become too pesimistic about the economy? on: July 01, 2023, 09:45:49 PM
I'm a pleb like most of you, and I too have, many times, become pesimistic about the economy in general and in what's about to come. But has anyone ever considered that,

- The economy is not going to crash into a recession
- That there will be an actual soft landing
- That the Russia - Ukraine war will not escalate into a European war
- That Gensler CAN'T truly ban crypto
- Institutional investors will come back and take Bitcoin to six digits

I'm probably missing more narratives, but you get the idea.
Yes, I find most of the current events are making me more pessimistic that I have lost already my interest to interfere and motivate others to still stay positive. But I know things will not be like this forever, and positive changes will surely come but we never know it’s certain time. That’s why we need more patience to understand the market more especially if we are in crypto investing, and just accept that at some point we need to experience losses and mistakes so we can be molded and be capable from achieving future profits.
916  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Does a Morning Routine have any Effect as a Day Trader? on: July 01, 2023, 09:26:25 PM
You know I mostly trade at night and so I don’t think my morning routine will have an effect for it. But since you’re asking for my morning routine, well I do a little exercise but not every morning since I do wake up late sometimes especially if I did a lot of activities during my day job that is so tiring. But what I did just to motivate me to trade, I never look the price most often and just listen to the news that’s happening in the market. That way, if I feel the market is doing good and prices are impressive, then I never missed any opportunity to trade and make profits.
917  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Kids and Bitcoin on: July 01, 2023, 09:07:47 PM
Kids will never learn at an earlier time especially if the topic is not in line of their interest. So even if you find comic books for bitcoin, maybe they’ll be aware at that moment but once they are exposed to to their games again and have fun, eventually they will start to forget those topics that are somehow difficult to understand. That’s why teaching them in an abrupt or in times wherein they’re not yet mature enough to understand the topic, will always be a waste of time and effort for the teachers.
918  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you cheat in gambling? on: June 30, 2023, 12:02:23 PM
Most of the majority say that we do not agree. however, if someone has a trick to trick gambling, especially in this case casino games, slots and the like. chances are, that person will do it lag over and over again. because after all, psychologically we will find it difficult to refuse money that we can easily get. if, there are underhand tricks in gambling. And I know about it, or we have an insider leak from the casino.

It has alot of efforts required to cheat a casino and I don't really understand the kind of mentality some people w have developed and how wrongly oriented they were that make them to think about wasting their precious time on what will not last and they will later blame themselves for in future, should we call it laziness or greediness that's worrying our people in this generation where everyone want to get rich quick by any means, legal or illegal.

There are some instaces that we don't know that we are cheating already because of some specific scenarios where we are just taking advantage of the games that are exploited or rigged. Although we don't know if it's indeed guaranteed but if you as a gambler who wants easy money, there is a huge chance that you will also join it as who wouldn't want to increase their chances.

There are lots of gambling activities in this world, majority of these activities aren't even played in casino.
919  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: June 30, 2023, 11:19:32 AM
As far as Bivol goes, he said he is willing to fight the winner of Charlo vs Alvarez, or at least if Canelo wins. He might have a dance partner this October, England’s Dan Azeez. But let's see if this is going to push through or not. Because Azeez could fight Buatsi as well for a eliminator and winner facing Bivol for this belt.

But within 168 pound division and considering that Canelo win his title defense against Charlo because Bivol also said that he was not really inclined to fight with Canelo and have a rematch in his own division as that will not make any difference at all. I mean, that is reasonable in Bivol's side as it was indeed clear as crystal that Canelo cannot defeat the WBC champ in the LHW division.

He is already desperate though, and so he said that he is willing to go down to 168 lbs and fight Canelo.

But it's already a foregone conclusion now, Bivol will have to wait now, as Canelo is with PBC right now and he is now going to defend his 175 lbs to either the mention names. So still not lost for Bivol, he might just have to continue to win and maybe either Canelo or Beterbiev will still be interested. Beterbiev for unification and Canelo so that he can avenge his defeat to Bivol.

But Canelo is not interested in defending the belts at 168 because the first encounter happened at 175, anyhow, Canelo will have to give the demand if he's really that eager to have a rematch even if there's too much risk in his position because he's now not in the A-side and he is the one now chasing Bivol.
920  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 30, 2023, 07:44:02 AM
Now that CP3 is on the Warriors, I think so too that he will be in the starting line-up but that won't be long as they cannot afford to lose CP3 via injury and will just let him rest in-between or where the Warriors needed him the most.
He'll surely be in the starting line up, the Warriors won't spend millions on him on this trade if he won't be on the starting five. We'll get to see those days if it happens as he's an injury prone player.

But at least on this matter, GSW got someone who would take care of the job and will have the assist for open shots for Klay and Steph.

He's the one to take care of it.

I thought they were getting him as a backup so I’m surprised that they’re planning to have him alongside Steph and Klay. That’s a pretty small and not very athletic 3 players. Not to mention Green is undersized and aging. I’m not sure what kind of basketball they’ll be playing, but they won’t be getting very many rebounds while doing it.

Maybe they made that announcement to confuse other teams on what is their plan to their current roster. Since it can ruin their plan if they show what will be the role of their new acquired player. We might see Paul playing at bench since this is the best position where he can be placed to make sure their team still have fire power even if their main guys like Steph setting on bench. But lets watch what will happen since current roster of Warriors is pretty interesting next season.

Regardless, let's just expect that there will some changes while they are approaching towards the new season. And as long as coach Kerr is in the Warriors, that is already enough to know that there's a good reason behind the CP3 trade and they will not take chances anymore as their original line-up is now aging because sooner or later, they will need to rebuild the whole team if the players are not producing the expectations or at least the goals anymore.
