961  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: ThickAsThieves abusing feedback system to silence critics. Please remove on: June 22, 2013, 12:58:25 PM
Can you guys post logs / proof? Without it, just hearsay, which I am not going to pay any attention to.

ThickAtThieves post the IRC log. bitcoinplay post proof that you lost money.

The log is ridiculously long, but if a moderator pm's me because they need it to actually take some kind of action, I will provide it.

In the end, I'm not sure what it proves, since it's just an editable text log.

I trust that this is what the new Trust system was made for, and that my history stands for me too.

I appreciate the support guys, you have no idea.

I spent literally 4 hours trying to reason with this guy via chat. It all boils down to him wanting special treatment to erase his risks.

My wife just said to me, "Well if you don't have haters, you haven't made it, have you?" Heh.
963  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: ThickAsThieves abusing feedback system to silence critics. Please remove on: June 22, 2013, 12:51:20 PM
This user contacted me via IRC asking me to buy back his shares in a mining bond I issue, threatening to start a smear campaign if I refused.

I have not made any threats or failed any promises. My asset description is extremely transparent, and I am a well-trusted bitcoiner by many other well-trusted bitcoiners.

You are just watching the unfolding of him following through with trying to hurt my reputation because I did not give in to HIS blackmailing.

I also suspect he is using several sock accounts in this process.
964  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTC-TC] TAT.ASICMINER New Micro-share Passthrough! on: June 22, 2013, 12:30:18 PM
also, are you going to say I am a sock too? lol

Yes. All 3 of your accounts created in the same month.
965  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] [TAT.VIRTUALMINE] Virtual Mining - Hash Without Hardware! on: June 22, 2013, 12:29:21 PM
Since this person (and I believe at least one other sock of his) seems to be starting a smear campaign, I'm going to try and comment on this once only.

Every asset I offer is as transparent as I can make it, more so than most issuers. I make good on every promise I make. My reputation is important to me, but I will not play games with trolls.

This holder is upset that a mining bond is no longer worth what it was during IPO. Plain and simple. It appears he sold out and moved on to the next cheapest one anyway, so it's likely he'll be yelling at Deprived in a couple weeks too. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=228327.msg2548895#msg2548895

Carry on, and apologies for this distraction.
966  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTC-TC] TAT.ASICMINER New Micro-share Passthrough! on: June 22, 2013, 12:27:57 PM
Warning: Avoid thick as thieves! He offers investments like TAT.Virtualmine which makes LOSSES for investors. He profits from his investors.

I am cutting all my ties with this thief. I suggest you do too, before you lose money from his scam.

Pirate = scammer
Nefario = scammer
Thief = HOW CAN YOU THINK HE ISN'T A SCAMMER?

Wake up. Stupid investors.

Don't read it as "TAT", that's like ignoring the pirate part of pirateat40 and only looking at BTCST.

967  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] [TAT.VIRTUALMINE] Virtual Mining - Hash Without Hardware! on: June 22, 2013, 11:29:19 AM
I just want to take a few minutes to address how some people are asking me about why TAT.VM market price has fallen this week.

In summary:

1. Difficulty has risen by greater than 20% two times in a row now. I'm not sure if that's a record, but it's certainly much faster than anything I can recall this year. When difficulty rises, the dividend goes down, and thus the fundamental value of pretty much ALL mining assets go down.

2. The market has a new, extremely low-priced competitor. I suspect many people have sold off their TAT.VM at a psuedo-loss in order to buy cheaper assets elsewhere. Really, this is probably the biggest factor. However, this is the nature of being in a competitive market. If demand is high, others come in and undercut you if they can.

3. I have spelled out very clearly how this asset works. It, like pretty much all bitcoin investments, is high risk. Trading this asset properly is all about timing. Buy at the right time, hold for the right amount of time, sell at the right time. Many, many shareholders have played this asset to success.

This asset states its purpose very plainly in the description:

Code:
This is asset is being offered for the following purposes:
1. To provide the most affordable and competitive alternative to other mining assets currently available.
2. To provide an easy choice for investors to earn mining rewards without the responsibility and hassle of running personal mining rigs and farms.

If you buy this because you want to simulate mining, and find TAT.VM's price for 1mh/s to be acceptable, great. But if difficulty spikes cause devaluation, or if new competitors in the asset or mining market spur selloffs, and your main concern is share price, then you need to stay savvy. The market price of TAT.VM held quite remarkably considering the recent diff changes, but the new assets on the market really pulled things downward.

In closing, please understand what you are buying when you buy bitcoin assets. I still get people asking me how dividends are determined even though the formula is already listed.

TAT.VM is virtual hashes, nothing more, nothing less. I will continue to deliver dividends on those hashes, in accordance to the contract. It is up to the trader to know whether it is right for them, and how/when to trade it.

EDIT: All mining of all kinds are currently depreciating. Hardware loses value when better hardware is made and difficulty goes up also. There is nothing to "save" it in that sense. However, this will NOT affect my ability to pay the daily coupons, and you can expect to get the payouts for the hashes you bought as detailed in the contract.

969  Economy / Securities / Re: BitFunder - Lets grow together! A request to all users - https://bitfunder.com on: June 21, 2013, 11:53:07 PM
Suggestion:
I don't want to use 2 Factor Authenticaion every single time I login to just check my portfolio, but FFS I want it on when I trade or withdraw.  I will be pulling all assets out of BItfunder and moving them to BTC-TC for this very reason in 4 weeks if this is not enabled.

Thank you,

1. Open Public Asset List https://bitfunder.com/assetlist
2. Ctril+F
3. Paste in your registered wallet address.
4. You're Welcome!

971  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTC-TC] Deprived Mining Speculation (DMS) on: June 21, 2013, 08:10:05 PM
DMS.MINING is the only so called "PMB" that is priced the right way. In any other PMB, people who bought in don't want to sell at a perceptible lower price. So the market price is some kind of artificially held high. That doesn't happen with DMS.MINING, because I can buy DMS.PURCHASE and then sell DMS.MINING if I think the DMS.MINING price is too high.

@TAT: I know you are legitimately one of the most respected persons around here, but IMHO the IPO Investors of TAT.VM won't see the light at the end of the tunnel...

Not that I wanna get into it here, but as I've discussed with Deprived and many others before. TAT.VM was not designed to be an effortless money tree. In many ways I set out to do a lot of what Deprived did, I just didn't include a way for the public to sell too.

The PMBs are hashes, and there is great market demand for that, regardless of the impending onslaught of ASICs. Every single person that bought my IPO had opportunity for healthy profit in the short term and every buyer is getting what was promised. There are risks I had to take to offer it, and work and expense I had to incur.

Unfortunately not everyone is an adept trader, and some will be left confused about what to do, but hopefully what they gain is the insight of how to trade more successfully in the future. Speculators that waited too long will take a hit due to the recent diff increases, and in no small part, the DMS asset set. People that buy hashes of any kind will get what they paid for, without a hitch (within my power at least).

But this is the nature of ALL mining, whether it be PMBs, mining reinvestment assets, group buys, or actual hardware itself. ALL mining depreciates when new technology and new competition arrives; and TIMING is, was, and always will be, the angle to play.

"You gotta know when to hold 'em..."

Is this gonna implode?
Hey TAT, wrong Thread. Here's the right one: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=223442.0

SCNR  Grin

My question was honest, not trolling or trying to start something. My asset just sells hashes, and is thus very simple to grasp.

I just wanted to make sure there wasn't a hole in the design the caused it to collapse on itself by its own nature (ignoring difficulty increases, etc).
973  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTC-TC] Deprived Mining Speculation (DMS) on: June 21, 2013, 06:13:30 PM
Is this gonna implode?

What do you mean?

I can see it being possible MINING will fall even lower - but the relative prices of MINING/SELLING have no impact on what capital cover is maintained.  All they do is change the maximum potential profit you can make on each one.  As MINING falls lower, the maximum possible percentage profit you an make from a SELLING drops.  But that isn't implosion - it's just a part of how the market will finally settle at a price.  If the ratio moves far enough then those who bought SELLING cheaper will reach the point where they decide they're better off taking profit now rather than staying in - which will then move the prices back in the other direction.

I have not taken the time deeply grasp the interactions here, but the pattern I see is the ceiling continuously lowering itself.

What if MINING buyers only post lower and lower bids? Yes, a bottom will surely be reached, but that bottom could get pretty damn low, right?

What if SELLING owners don't have enough people to unload shares to? This will also seek a lower and lower bottom, no?

The book value of those both affect the NAVU of PURCHASE, correct? Doesn't that also lower the ceiling daily?

Reminder -- We're collecting questions from the community that will be compiled and voted on (by the community as well,) and passed on to Friedcat by TAT.

If you have questions that you feel are important, please submit them via PM to either ThickAsThieves, FrankTank, VJain or myself.

Ian

Did he answer the last set of questions?

Yes. ThickAsThieves posted Friedcat's response here:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=99497.msg2460719#msg2460719
One of the downsides of the process we went through with the first shareholder poll, where TAT posted Friedcat's response to the forum rather than Friedcat posting it directly himself, is that it is now very easy for a shareholder or investor to miss that response if they attempt the (often recommended!) readthrough of just Friedcat's posts as a means of filtering through the incredible amount of clutter in this thread.

Having Friedcat directly post his response to future polls would be ideal.

There should be a specific, locked down thread used only for announcements. It's about the third time I suggest this, but nobody goes ahead with it.

Well, iirc somebody did sometime, but afterward he stopped.

Someone does do this, that Quarterly Report thread.

You could always subscribe to my posts too! I'm pretty entertaining at times Wink

biggest bug imho: not being able to bring assets online.
i've been following you around for close to three weeks now (pm, irc) to no avail.

It's not that unreasonable for it to take a few weeks to green light a new asset.

Is it possible they are not interested in your asset?

this thread has gone to shit.

I thought you can request refund of the loan at face value, why someone selling cheap their shares?
Is there a problem with Graet.loan right now?

People are just dumb or in a rush sometimes.
