Keep dreaming. The fact is if you didn't create enough hype for a decent increase in price after about two years of pure hype then don't expect it to happen. 99% of coins have it highest price in the first days of launch.
The question is when will you lot accept reality?

 Seems to be doing good to me - if NEM is only on one exchange and yet it is clearly beating NXT in real volume. I don't count the NXT volume from the asset exchange / multigateway as that all whales doing phantom trades like trading into their own buy / sell walls. Looks like when NEM gets on other exchanges the volume is going to shoot up. Besides outside of the top 4 (not counting temporary pumps) - almost no alternate has real volume. Even BTS is at $40K now, which isn't that much bigger than NEM's, and it's also kind of dangerous too. IIRC - Larimer was telling about how the delegates were making like $2500 a month - well there's 101 of them so that's $8000 a day they can be dumping down with (in addition to any bagholders / dolphins / whales that could, decide one day, to dump their stash). Yup, truth be told if this were any other newly released crypto, odds are it would be doing substantially worse - this is because the entire crypto world is in a massive slump. The hype has passed and only a select minority are really doing the heavy trading. NEM needs to break new ground in terms of marketing if it wants to turn some heads. Else some other coin is inevitably going to do it. NEM's already had a great start, may as well run with that momentum to greater heights. Most recent coins (crypti, node, qora, supernet, bitcoindark, etc) started at high volume, and once everyone bought some, the volume drooped below $1000 and in some cases below $100. This launch isn't anything special. It's been same for node, supernet, qora, crypti bitcoindark and et all. Nxt has been around for more than an year and it's still consistent. I expect Nem's volume to drop significantly in a month or two Why do you think it will be different this time than other two dozens coins where volume drops after initial hype? month or two? Haha How about a week or two or even a day or two. The vol has already dived, with most of that vol dumpers anyway. |

Bitshares wants GetGems integration? Well if you read the link you posted you would know what he is asking ie advertising and having his coins in the app. Not to hype the price but if companies like his are smart and really believe in the potential they really should be buying gems right now to secure cheap advertising. |

I bought some extra Gems on Poloniex and tried sending 100 Gems to my in-App wallet as well as 100 Gems to my account on Counterparty. Both transactions never succeeded and are still pending?
Anyone has an idea how this can be?
I would like to move my Gems from Poloniex to Counterparty asap.

A counterparty account is needed to move Gems? Of course cause Gems is a counterparty asset built into a messenger app. I might get this around the wrong way but the app is an offline wallet so no fees to pay in btc while you can also hold your coins in a safer online wallet. Both are accessible and managable via counterparty wallet. Of course you can send any gems you have in your wallet with the actual app. If a potential user of the "real world" have to create a counterparty account, understand it, and then use Gems messenger, maybe avoid to use it. It's possible to use it without the counterparty account? I think it's needed a deeper repository of information about the app and the use (Ok, I understand we are in beta... but I want to use and extend the app right now  ). There probably does need to be an introductory video later for new users just to explain what Gems is and how it works, that's standard for many new concept apps. But I think me talkking about the counterparty wallet might of made things seem more complicated than they are, for most people they would never need to leave the app, simply receiving gems from airdrops and then from that point on they have a gateway into crypto. The fact is just like the internet there is always some learning involved to understand something new, its not brain surgery however and the little help prompts in the app go most of the way to explain stuff. The key is to give an 'experience' of sending coins/wealth easily to someone else or buying something, for many people that's what hooks people, plus seeing the value of your stash increasing, equally addicting and why you are probably reading this now. |

Alt coins haven't been dying, it's just reality is breaking in and that reality is Bitcoin is the currency that people will get behind and actually use. Any decent project now is really a token not a coin and is based on the blockchain. The fact no one wants to hear is this, you got coins trading on exchanges for hundreds of BTC BUT if people are honest it's unlilly any of them will actually be used as a currency so their value is simply based on hype and future potential that doesn't exist. So for me I will only support projects that have real world potential And Bitcoin. It's a personal choice and I don't expect anyone to agree but I am mainly invested in GEMS cause if it can get thousands even millions of users which isn't unusal for a messenger app then you instantly have as many real users as Bitcoin. Gems is not a coin though it's simply a token used within the app that oils the wheels. Let's all be realistic now gentlemen, it's highly unlikely that NEM will ever succeed. What people fail to understand is innovation isn't what matters it's usage and no coin will overtake Bitcoin in that. Imagine someone makes the most amazing car that flys and can also go underwater but the comp at only sells 100 a year, then how can you value that company highly. Meanwhile another comp any sells a million very average cars with no innovation? Innovation means zero. NEM is too late to an already crowded party. Any value therefore is based purely on fantasy at this point. Wow, you sound like a Bitokyo Rose. Bitcoin/etc have all failed because they are just digital money and people don't want digital money. It solves a problem no one has. NEM is not about digital money. NEM is a block chain platform, that will enable the decentralized flow of not only value, but also information and knowledge. The XEM currency is just one very small part of the bigger picture. Bitcoin failed huh? Its just digital money huh? |

this is worthwhile and insightful discussion but unfortunately it hijacked nem thread. so them can feel free to join this thread and continue the discussions so we can all take a great benefit home from it

Just to answer your question (I think) there is a plan to be able to change the apps color.
The color actually is a a pretty smart move though as some focus has been on females who are bigger texters than males, apparently. Plus I'm not surprised we have quite a few Japanese followers I think which also makes sense cause asians (based on my experience living here) have no problem with pink for guys.

Price of NEM is going up whole day, I guess some people are very unsuccessful in what their doing  Define a day cause this is the last 24hrs. Yeah I see a clear pump but the trend sure as hell isn't up. I actually hated NEM front he start, Utopian guy was an idiot. he was spouting Communism so why as a Libertarian respect or believe in this coin?
Utopian's legacy is irrelevant now. Anyway, it never was about Communism, it was about earning more money personally to him. You just don't know what happened right before NEM's "call for participation". Maybe so but this coin was raised under the banner of some kind of utopian egalitarian ideals, that's on record. Still this coin is still pushing the idea of an equal distribution, anyone with a brain knows in crypto that is an oxymoron if you only got a few thousand people involved. You seem to confuse the concept of egalitarian and equal distribution with a planetary relief fund. XEM is not a substitution for welfare regimes. XEM was built with intent of powering and securing the NEM platform. XEM was equally distributed and is an egalitarian cryptocurrency. Seriously stop saying the word egalitarian. The distribution of this coin is pretty much the same as any other coin of the last 12 months which has been mainly crowdsales on exchanges. Anyone who wants to buy a lot of coins can do and had the opportunity through NXT assets which tends to be the NXT crowd anyway. Keep saying egalitarian and I will keep calling you stupid. In fact if you want to compare then NEM has by far the worst case of centrally planned pot, so much it would make Ripple blush. So stop talking about fairness and then you wont be judged on it. |
