A skeptic would say that Knc timed their tape-out announcement to slow down refund requests.

If the tape-out was completed in February, why wait until March 5th to announce it when more are more refunds are being requested everyday? I don't get it.

You took the words right out of my mouth. How else would you try to slow down refunds and stop people giving their money to Bitmain? We all remember, "keep your bitcoin handy, they will go fast". Don't forget that, because what someone does in the past only shows who they are today.

'tape out' completed  Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked
this was totally unexpected, now I'm excited  Cheesy

Joeventura and his insider information has been wrong with his predictions that there wasn't going to be a physical miner, and I was actually starting to beleive him.

So how long does it take to slice and package wafers?  Anyone?

ok ok you can come back Orama...  this is good news and we can all be friends again  Tongue Kiss

I'll guarantee that you'll see the new 20nm gear running in their data farm before they start making mining rigs. They've turned into greedy monsters and will probably try to persuade everyone to just go for the cloud hashing and not even get a Neptune delivered. When you are making a ton of bitcoin everyday like they are and have been the last thing they want to do is put energy into making new hardware and shipping it out all over the world. Then have to support it.
983  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: March 08, 2014, 11:30:28 PM
There are rumors that the next gen asicminer product will be available in April and use .5w/gh. I'm also very impressed by what bitmain was able to do with their antminers and hope they come out with a more power efficient version soon. The 1TH dragon units also look very interesting.

Stop pre-ordering, people! There is no need to take additional risk with pre-orders when competent companies are producing mining hardware at a fair price that ships immediately.

Knc could be dominating the in stock bitcoin mining hardware market by shipping jupiters as fast as they can make them, but they chose to misuse Neptune preorder money to build their own private mining farm.
Have heard the same, next generation Antminer should be available in April with much more power efficience, and Bitmain is one of the companies wich one changes the miner market away from long time pre-orders. Have ordered some S1 since december and must say - very fast delivery (shortest delivery was received three days after order from china to germany!), very good support & contact with Sushi - perfect, only the power consumption of S1 is too high for long time mining...

And sorry for all "KNC evangelists" - the only thing what you will have with all the Neptune pre-orders is probably a big loss, maybe A.Kennemar and his friends only interested now to put a lot of money in there own pockets... In the swedish video everyone can see how many miners are working only for KNC ***right now*** - probably this is the way wich one the pre-order money is gone. They have delivered the 28nm products last year and after everyone had trust KNC, they have made a big bang to mine all for there own pockets - The temptation was too great, maybe - just my 2 cents...

It is mind boggling thinking how many bitcoin KNC has made already with their farm. They are the ones killing our return/reward from their own miners we bought from them. Fuckers.

hi phoenix,

whats wrong? i remember you as polite and friendly person in this thread. what happend? how is mining going?

greets

Too many provokers over the course of say more than half a year. It's hard to be helpful in an environment where there's nothing to be gained, and people stabbing at any and every crack, even when there's none and only speculation. Especially since money is involved, even the slightest thing that goes wrong can turn people into assholes. And many things have went wrong. Money controls our life, at least until enough is earned where we won't have to worry about it (which few achieve). Especially with the lack of accountability that pseudo anonymity brings, it's easy for people to be assholes.

Poor dude. No one can deny that over the months he had been helpful and pretty transparent. Anyone should keep in mind online to not take attacks seriously. But I guess it's hard with how personal and consistent the attacks have been.

I appreciate the information that both sides bring, but the tone and accusations honestly helps no one.

When you put all your eggs in the bitcoin basket and bitcoin turns to shit, that is what happens. When greedy ass people don't have money coming in or are losing out it is very stressful. While I like to have money and it does make things easier I never obsessed over it or became a greedy fuck over it. I was taught many more things are much more important in life. It is unfortunate that the root of all evil is money.
985  Economy / Speculation / Re: Doubts about bitcoin these days... on: March 08, 2014, 05:17:24 PM
I have all my bitcoin saved in storage myself with just one paper backup I only have access to. I just can only wish things would get better. If you are in your 40's and think your bitcoin hoard is going to help you later on in life I wouldn't count on it. Just for bitcoin to get out of the BETA stage could take 15+ years. By the time bitcoin is viable for you to use, you'll be long dead. If you are hoarding for your kids, then that may work out a little better. But not someone from this era. Ancient Rome started with money and it took hundreds of years for that really to catch on. Given the perspective, bitcoin is just a little dot on the time line here. I would just like to see more positive news out there on the bitcoin industry. God only knows what is making it hold in the $600's? I was sure it would drop all the way to $100 or less again.
986  Economy / Speculation / Doubts about bitcoin these days... on: March 06, 2014, 11:28:01 AM
I finally had the thought today that in my opinion I don't think bitcoin can or will survive. Every day I hear news about exchanges being hacked, sites being taken down, coin being stolen on a daily basis day in and day out. Then Flexcoin shutdown right after Mt.Gox melt down. It almost makes our US banking industry look good. When do you have US banks getting hacked then closing down the next day? Then in that same day you'll most likely never see your bitcoin again, never to cash out on them. These aren't little players here, these are big players in the game....making huge waves. When ALL the news coming from the bitcoin industry is negative, where ever you read I just don't see how it could ever bounce back from where it once was.

When I got into bitcoin all I heard how safe it was, the encryption protects it, blah blah blah. It doesn't matter. Encryption or not, this crypto currency is more prone to being stolen then anything. I can't scour the forums all day, but when I do have the time to read, so many times I hear about coin being stolen from accounts, exchanges not paying people, etc, it just doesn't end.

I really do hate out US banking industries, but I also never had $1 stolen from me or worry about it. And money these days aren't really "money". They're just bits and bytes on a computer somewhere. I barely handle money itself anymore so it almost seems just like bitcoin to begin with, but without all the hacks and banks melting away all the time.

Soon as an exchange gets enough bitcoin you just are bound to hear soon it will be hacked or taken down for some reason. It's basically a way for the site operator(s) to scam people. We've seen it all too often here and it doesn't look like it will ever stop. Why? Because there are no consequences for anyone's actions. Steal as many bitcoin as you want, may get a slap on the wrist.

Even on the dark net, the ultimate drug selling site was so called "hacked" too, losing all their bitcoin that was in escrow. Everyone lost their coin. So here we have it. Legit or legal bitcoin related sites being hacked on a daily basis, being taken down on a daily basis and just leaving the trusting bitcoin community not what to think. I know there will be those die hard bitcoiner's out there that will defend bitcoin until they die, but if you just open your eyes a little bit and see what's going on it doesn't look good.

Apparently the bitcoin industry attracts the scum of the earth and unfortunately that's the way it will be viewed for years to come. The only people investing into the bitcoin community right now are only here to make massive amounts of money for themselves. Thery're not here to support the community or be part of something. It will only be a matter of time we'll see another news article or report on another exchange (any left?) going down or a large mass of coins being stolen again. Yep, bitcoin is in BETA and I think should basically stay that way.

They replied to me.....
"Refund will only be processed in USD.
In order to process your refund we would need for you to provide us with the details as listed below. "
you can use the $10,000 to buy bitcoin from bitsimple or some trustworthy place.

Seriously. Take your $10k and buy youself a crack whore for the night and make her do everything you can think of. You'll feel very very relieved the next day and never regret it for a minute. A crack whore can give you a better return for your money then the bitcoin industry.

988  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: February 25, 2014, 07:02:22 PM
The only reason why they say that their mining farm is for us is so no one goes up there and starts a fire and burns the place down. They've always done a good job keeping customer's hanging on an edge, not really disclosing full details on everything but just enough to keep you in the game and not spend your bitcoin anywhere else. I'm still taken back at their comment weeks ago,"

"So keep some coins handy as we expect them to go quick."

That was a knife in the back with a twist.
989  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: February 25, 2014, 06:12:55 PM
This MT.GOX blow up will have ramifications for years in this industry and we'll never see those nice high values anymore for a long time. BTC has been slowly dropping day by day and continues to do so. There's nothing that is going to make it go back up either. So all you bitcoin rich people out there, how's it feel to have huge amounts of less money? I'm waiting for the price to drop to $100. Then maybe I'll buy some more.

I'm running 560 Gh/s and only getting .04 BTC / day. Man, I miss a couple months ago. And people said I could run this miner for several more months. I doubt that.

Something is definitely wrong. You should be getting .09 btc/day with 560 gh/s.

.07 means definitely wrong? I don't get it.

75% luck or 0.75x0.09=0.0675, your image shows 0.74.  I've seen you complain about this well over 4 times in this thread.  I don't mean to ridicule you but you really need to spend some time reading about how basic statistics and read through the last 20 pages where E clearly explains the stats.

On those days we had 120% luck you would have made 1.2x(your expected rate).  If that is not the case simply look at your charts and confirm that your miner is indeed consistently putting out 560GH/s.  This is not difficult math (for that your can read organofcorti's posts and make your head itch).

Don't worry, I don't get offended and I don't mind to offend others. If someone gets offended because of what someone says they have issues. There really isn't anything to troubleshoot. I'll go along with luck and variance on most cases. I can confirm my little miner running smoothly at home, hasn't budged from 560Gh/s for many weeks now according to CGminer. Where it does change is at the guild pool.  CGminer says 560Gh/s and the guild says today 580Gh/s. I did read a post about how/why that happens, just have to go back and look for it. It was well spelled out. Time for some overclocking a little.
991  Economy / Services / Re: Looking for someone to create/modify software for this forum [5500+ BTC] on: February 25, 2014, 05:56:25 AM
The OP was in 2011. So if someone wanted to take this old site out of the 1980's they could, but apparently greed and here we are today. STILL nothing done.

You got somethin wrong there, I'm avg 0.03 a day an I got just north of 180Gh/s.

You should be seeing 0.08/0.09 a day with your hash.

Edit: FWIW, you can run your miner aas long as it at least pays for itself in electricity.

All I need to do is make $60 a month with the Avalon I have to make it worth while to mine.

Amazing. Between my last post and now it went up to .07, and my hashing rate has been constant. Just yesterday it was .1 / day. Hell, when ever my earnings drop I'll just post it here and it will just go up by itself.

24H luck is at a %75 and 3D is still %100. All the way to 1 month which is %100.  Come on lady luck, where did you go?

994  Economy / Service Discussion / Bitcoin fat pigs... on: February 24, 2014, 11:54:51 PM
Why do all these greedy ass bastards have to ruin this industry? Charles Shrem another fat pig trying to steal money got caught. Why in the world is that guy even allowed to use a computer? When a computer hacker gets caught and charges stick they aren't even allowed near a computer. Why are these fat pigs even allowed near the bitcoin industry? Then of course the fat pig, Karpele's. There's no doubt in my mind if you do a little investigative work you'll be certain to find out he's been stealing as well. These fat pigs shouldn't be allowed to even buy or sell a bitcoin or even come close to the blockchain. It just gets real tiring to hear and see the shit that goes on here. And even today I hear about people trying to buy bitcoin at Mt.Gox. People, stop being such greedy bastards. I really hope you lose all your money and never get your bitcoin. FAT PIGS really deserve to die and a little slap on the wrist isn't really going to help. These fat pigs think they deserve to be rich, putting in their lousy 5 years into the industry. Please, try working for a living and make your money an honest way. All fat pigs must die, seriously.

I'm real curious as to how many bitcoins people actually had in their GOX accounts? They've only had issues for several years now, so I guess you can't blame GOX completely if people lose their money. They did have a long ass time to cash out 2 years ago. How many chances do you actually give a company before you say NO MORE?

I finaly received the activation code aobut 1 and 1/2 hours later.  Entered the code and it's working.  No $5.00 worth of bitcoin.  Guess I am not one of the first 1,000 user.

Seriously, why in the world would KNC want their own wallet program? How does it benefit them?

I could think of several venues:

1. the will make this 'wallet' a default for planB
2. they will get money from those who will send ads to people with bitcoin
3. they want to help snooping by those who think they are entitled to it (what do we know about this company anyway?)
4. they will charge you a little extra for bitcoin transfers
5. they want to become a bitcoin bank with possible P2P lending. afterall, Kinemaar background is in banking IT.

Why would anyone use online, internet wallets, smart phone wallets, or keeping their BTC's online is asking for trouble.  If you do, you are at their (exchanges') dictatorship.  Look at Mtgox, BTC-E or any online wallet/exchanges.    Can't withdrawal BTC or cash means your BTC is worthless.  I keep a majority (of my BTC's) on my QT and transfer a few (into exchanges) just before I sell; in and out.

I do the same. I'd never keep coin in an "online" type wallet or at an exchange. Just asking for trouble. Because of Mt.Gox there are probably a lot of "bitcoin rich" people out there that can't cash out. So in reality that coin is worthless right now. I can't even follow Mt.Gox. Threads pop up every minute and no one knows anything.
997  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: February 23, 2014, 04:46:53 PM
The app doesn't work on my USA phone.  I keep getting an error code, "Error sending SMS please try again (500)".  I rated the app a 1 star on the Play Store.

Edited to add.  I finaly received the activation code aobut 1 and 1/2 hours later.  Entered the code and it's working.  No $5.00 worth of bitcoin.  Guess I am not one of the first 1,000 user.

Seriously, why in the world would KNC want their own wallet program? Is this another move to get their greedy little hands onto even more BTC? One day you'll notice all your BTC is gone and you'll have to fight to get it back. Stick with the Armory and you'll be safe. Have to question their intentions and motive on why they want their own program? How does it benefit them?

Upgraded to new 1.0 Firmware, my November Jupiter went from 669 GH to 683 GH without any tweaking. HW errors went from around 2% to 0.01%...

And we had to wait how many months for that to happen? We should of had this firmware a long time ago. A little too late.
999  Other / Archival / Re: Pictures of your mining rigs! on: February 23, 2014, 03:56:32 PM
They are consuming about 1850 Watt and not 1650 Watt.
Also they are only running on about 1.4 - 1.5 Th/s and not 2 Th/s :/

O stop your whining. You aren't paying for the electricity so stop it. They are obviously setup at your work or somewhere. At least that's what I think?

1000  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: February 21, 2014, 12:28:01 AM
BTC is dropping pretty quickly. We may even see $200 again soon. If you are holding out on a Neptune, you are crazy. With bitcoin worth these USD prices it is going to take a very long time for things to come back up, if they ever do. You can be bitcoin rich, but if you can't cash out or exchange to your currency then having all the bitcoin in the world isn't going to help.
