Another chart

Bitcoin still seems to be obeying bullish trend, which i like Smiley Found support more than once on the second trendline up from bottom of my fork. So I guess we seem to be aiming for median line which is now above $850 roughly.  Currently we are approaching level of the last peak in June which may provide a bit of resistance though.

If bitcoin can continue upwards to top of the fork that is getting to new all time highs territory  Shocked

I found this http://segwit.co/

Can someone explain this in easy terms? If you run a bitcoin node to are supposed to signal segwit support? how do you do that?

edit: Why would you not support or not support it? I thought it was a no brainer. Increased capacity more efficient etc. What am I missing?

Only the miners can signal segwit through the mined blocks, your node will be counted only as a segwit node (0.13.1 bitcoin-core).

Just had a look at that link, still a way to go it seems

Upgrade to Bitcoin Core 0.13.1 and your node will automatically follow Segwit rules after(if) it activates.

Ah ok, thanks

Same fork zoomed out further

986  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Primed on: November 23, 2016, 08:39:06 AM
Hi Fakhoury, heres a closer look at that fork.

Hopefully it is highly possible, if bitcoin does continue up past current levels to reach to the median that would take it to about $840.
987  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Primed on: November 23, 2016, 12:04:33 AM
Although not following my initial predictions/guesses, when I started this thread bitcoin was at about $320 now at roughly $750, not too bad so far.

For anyone that may be interested my thoughts on recent gold, silver and bitcoin post Trump victory are on my blog

988  Economy / Speculation / Re: Nobody is talking about the reason for this rise! on: November 18, 2016, 10:37:09 PM
I think the reason for this rise is that bitcoin is undervalued.

As an escape from capital controls and price debasement bitcoin rivals gold. Consider that there are probably billions of ounces of gold in the world (just guessing the amount but its a lot) yet only 21 million bitcoins. At the moment 1 bitcoin is only worth half ounce of gold. That is very cheap for bitcoin by comparison.
989  Economy / Speculation / Re: My Bitcoin Speculation Thread. Please Critique my Analysis. ;) on: November 18, 2016, 10:24:41 PM
Bitcoin and gold both spiked high during the US election only to then fall again which I found interesting. The instinctive reaction to Trump news was price rise, flight to safety for both. But why did they both, gold and bitcoin then fall and give up all the gains?

In this case I think gold is still the defacto indicator for the investor class. With bitcoin tagging along for laughs and giggles. Happily for the powers that be gold is easily manipulated via paper derivatives and has been hammered down into submission. Under the radar of most investors, bitcoin is not playing ball and rises according to market forces the way gold would too if not being stomped on.

In order to try and suppress rises in bitcoin the elites have no sophisticated futures market and paper derivatives able to drag the price around so they have to actually sell real bitcoins to suppreess the price or resort to mope in the media, eg china bans bitconi again.

Just my theory Smiley
990  Economy / Speculation / Re: Nights Watch by Afrikoin on: November 18, 2016, 09:09:10 PM

I prefer to look at bitcoin priced in gold which i think is like that other chart upside down.

To me it is clear that bitcoin is trending up priced in gold, just as price in fiat. Which I think likely to continue.

I found the price spikes around the US election quite interesting. Both gold and bitcoin spiked high during the initial realisation Trump looked like winning. (Both viewed as safe haven?) But then both gold and bitcoin gave up all gains quite soon after. Price action very similar in both assets.

But then a huge divergence, while gold crashes below key technical levels and now looks aweful (manipulated??) Bitcoin reverses and resumes its bullish trend (suspicion is that bitcoin much harder to manipulate than gold??)

free DASH    6900-4200 : 2700  *1000 coins
locked in masternode      4200   *1000 coins

Free dash doesn't changed.
In free dash(2700 * 1000),
many dash would be hacked or out of handlling,  forget wallet password....
In free dash,   there are 53*1000 dash in the supply part.

That's really interesting that the "free" Dash has stayed the same.

I don't know why you say many dash would be hacked?  Why is that?  Is there something inherently wrong with the Dash wallet that  makes it vulnerable?

Free Dash?

Hi Risto.  Praying for you, if that is any comfort.  I am sad to read that there seems to be so many against you, especially those that should be the ones you should trust the most. I find solace in the Psalms when I have been treated unjustly, which has happened but not to the level you are dealing with.  The life of David should be someone you can relate to, as he was hated for no reason other than his successes and giftedness it appears.  You are one of the most "interesting" persons I have ever had the chance to interact with (albeit from a distance) It would be my honor to call you a "friend."

Very nice, BitChick.  Prayer is vastly under-rated in its power.  Prayers are always answered, although typically not the way we might envision...

The Psalms are a favorite part of the Bible for many reasons.  There is comfort for anyone afflicted for any reason there in the Psalms.

Bravo.

I feel as if I am just learning how powerful prayers are.

Just last week I have a really strange story.  On Monday I was chatting with someone on reddit about how I was asked to sing the Song "Hallelujah" at a memorial for a friend of a friend.  I have never played or sung this song so I googled it for lyrics and a chord chart.  I thought the song was by Jeff Buckley and then posted on reddit how I felt that the lyrics made me actually cry. Especially this verse:

Quote
maybe there's a God above
but all I've ever learned from love
was how to shoot at somebody who outdrew you
and it's not a cry that you hear at night
it's not somebody who's seen the light
it's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah

I shared this on reddit but then was quickly corrected.  The song "Hallelujah" was not a Jeff Buckley original.  It was written by Leonard Cohen.  I then googled Leonard and watched a couple videos.  He was much older and I was deeply moved by him.  Such depth to his life, thoughts, words, music.  What an amazing man I thought.  But I could also feel the pain in his voice.  It was almost like he had a deep longing that wasn't fulfilled.  As a Christian, I take great comfort in knowing that there is someone that can fulfill that deep void.  So, on Monday, I prayed for Leonard Cohen.  I prayed that he would no longer have a "cold and broken Hallelujah."  I prayed he would feel the love of God in a profound way.  Then, just a few days later, there was news of his death.  So strange.  But I feel comfort that my prayer was answered.  Especially with the strange timing of it all.

Edit:  And the timing gets even stranger now.  I just read that Leonard Cohen actually passed away last Monday night, and I was praying for him that same morning.  The press release said his death was on Thursday.

Thanks for sharing that Bitchick Smiley

Next time bitcoin is in a real bubble you'll know it by your mum asking you to buy her some bitcoin

996  Economy / Speculation / Re: Trump being new POTUS - how it will affect Bitcoin in the long run? on: November 10, 2016, 03:40:41 PM
We saw another example of bitcoin behaving like gold, both spiked up on the news only to both fall back to previous levels. Bitcoin still a small niche is a safe haven and a way to avoid capital controls. Both of which will boost bitcoin and gold in coming years
997  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price to hit $1000 around June 2017 on: November 09, 2016, 09:25:19 AM
LOL

Sooooooooooooooo not gonna happen.

I know you all want to see $1000 but I have bad news for you. You will never see $1000 in your life time. Maybe in your childrens' time. Why? Because of bad fundamentals, slow adoption, no useful applications, do you know how hard it is to use bitcoins relative to other forms of money? And if you send your btc to a wrong address, you can never get it back? Also, if you lose your private key to your wallet, you just lose all your coins in that wallet. Why would you want to use btc? There's no privacy, no fungibility, no recourse, no nothing in btc. No wonder it's a dying technology.

LOL

Some good points but missing the whole point

On DASH 1d MACD the signal lines have crossed bullishly, usually a great buy and hold signal.

looks like it wants to push up above 0.014 any time

Nice to see some analysis backed up with an actual idea and a nice chart.

I've been observing this trend also and for now it is working really well.
