1721  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Promoting Bitcoin on Facebook on: June 03, 2014, 01:28:32 AM
don't some facebook games require you to spend money to get some powerups? that would be a good idea to incorporate it. it's such a waste of money, but people are willing to spend so why not?
1722  Other / Off-topic / Re: Sex on the beach drink... on: June 03, 2014, 01:27:06 AM
probably like every other high alcohol beverage: ass. it's just a name anyways.
1723  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Ritz didnt pay me? on: June 03, 2014, 01:00:34 AM
they probably pay manually, so keep in mind that he/she probably can't keep up with making all those remittances quickly.. how hard have you tried contacting ritz? maybe give it some more time.
1724  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ideas on inexpensive, portable laptop to use as Bitcoin Cold Storage? on: June 03, 2014, 12:57:54 AM
just get a cheap netbook, something that can be had for $100.. that or you can swap out your hard drive from a desktop.
1725  Other / Politics & Society / Re: CNN national poll: Rand Paul 13%, Bush 13%, Ryan 12%, Huckabee 10%, Christie 9% on: June 03, 2014, 12:11:25 AM
well the issue is that it's so pronounced that america, more than any other country, has tied money with politics. it's ridiculous how much money is spent on the campaign trails. in order for a 3 party system to work, the point of singularity needs to hit.. but they'd need billions of dollars "invested."

I don't think that the injection of any amount of money can change the system. Right now, the major parties are backed up by the powerful demographic blocks. For example, the Democrats enjoy wide-spread support from the minorities (one-third of the population), while the GOP is backed by the religious right (another 1/3rd of the population). There is simply not enough space for a third party.

For a third party to even get beyond 5% would require a certain percentage of us to actually think about real stuff. Not too likely in the reality tv era.

well, yeah.. that or some billionaire tries to inject some money into the political system to create a 3rd party. no doubt that party would have issues, but i think it would help not having 1 of 2 choices.. but then again, if they are to sustain their power, they'd have to sell out to large corporations.

congress have an approval rating of something like 9%.. it is obvious that most people feel like the parties do not speak for them, and there are plenty of people who want a third party.. it's just that they don't have enough money to buy influence for one.

and back to the topic, here is rand paul backtracking on what he said.. he's not pro-coal, when he was against it in 2008 http://news.yahoo.com/in-2008--rand-paul-called-coal--the-least-favorable-forms-of-energy-164651153.html

i wonder what has influenced his change of mind.. could it be that coal is lubing up his ass hole? obama may be a sellout, but rand paul is not much better.
1727  Other / Off-topic / Re: Webcam sex on: June 02, 2014, 10:56:50 PM
i've had phone sex.. i wasn't that into it, until she started moaning. she came down to my area and i didn't get a chance to see her.. so sad.

not really into webcam sex too. it's just a tease for me.
1728  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Solar Roadways... on: June 02, 2014, 08:47:46 PM
Solar panels are extremely expensive and requires frequent maintenance. Compared to other forms of energy, solar power is many times more expensive, and there for unsuitable for the roads. Unless these demerits can be solved, this project will not succeed.

what is your choice for alternative energy?

and i think solar roads is kind of ridiculous considering the amount of maintenance work that needs to be done. and what about when there's traffic? cars will block the panels which will decrease efficiency.

i don't know about you guys, but in my area if you get solar powered panels.. you still have to pay your utilities company $5-10 a month. it seems like edison lobbied for congress to force solar panel users to be legally required to have edison's grid connect to your home.

+ tires will leave tracks on the road blocking even more sunlight

btw, it has a lot of flaws, but why the hell not
I mean, people already surpassed the goal, it's going good and it's not polluting..

why not? well, because it might be better to pursue a different option... one where rubber tires are not always trampling over your panels. it would require a hell of a lot of financial assistance from government, and i really doubt they will play along considering the energy industry probably bankrolls hundreds of millions into washington.
1729  Other / Off-topic / Re: NBA Playoffs - Which team are you rooting for? on: June 02, 2014, 08:46:30 PM
the heat are still ridiculously good, but it seems like they aren't as good as last year.. they may have peaked. in the coming seasons, if ray allen retires and bosh/wade/lebron don't opt out, they won't have much wiggle room.. so i really hope they lose this year, and duncan stays for another year. there's no other team that can really challenge miami, imo, except *maybe* OKC.
1730  Other / Off-topic / Re: hitler lends to Dank (video) on: June 02, 2014, 07:42:56 PM
should have incorporated the "he went on an LSD drug binge and is talking about how he is now god."
1731  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What city has the highest amount of bitcoin users? on: June 02, 2014, 06:07:10 PM
i would guess silicon valley/northern california.. their sports venues even accept BTC (kings and sharks, i believe).
1732  Other / Off-topic / Re: Ask me anything about being a sex addict. (Serious thread) on: June 02, 2014, 06:05:37 PM
most people here are sex addicts. if you stop ejaculating for 7 days, you would probably go nuts.
1733  Other / Politics & Society / Re: No news on CNN about air bombing on Lugansk. on: June 02, 2014, 04:40:21 PM
this is a reflection of the american people.. no one is interested in this kind of stuff. instead, CNN airs what we are really interested. did aliens hijack the malaysia airlins plane? where is lindsay lohan now?
1734  Other / Off-topic / Re: TV Series Recommendations... on: June 02, 2014, 04:37:50 PM
flight of the conchords. Best series ever, terribly underranted.

FOTC was so awesome.. rhys dharby is the most underrated comedic actor. he's hilarious as murray. i can't believe he's not not a top comedy actor.
1735  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Life after Silk Road: how the darknet drugs market is booming on: June 02, 2014, 03:14:19 PM
I don't have any personal qualms about people buying whatever they want online. In the case of something going wrong however you have no recourse to recover your bit coin.

i don't support child pornography or selling illegal firearms/weapons.. those don't really have a net positive effect, but the the darknet drugs do have a help. history has shown that you can't defeat drugs, but what you can do is.. not make things worse.

You will never eradicate all of it. Child porn will always be out there for the sickos that want to find it. Firearms are simply tools with no morality to them.

i'm not talking about eradication though.. i just don't support those two things like i do with drug trade.
I hear there are some vigilante groups sprang up in Mexico, fighting the drug gangs that have taken over and terrorized their land.  These groups use illegal firearms, and they shoot them.  They don't just wave them around.

Well, just a note.  There are some people who would disagree with you on drugs, and disagree with you on firearms.

I guess though they might AGREE with you on the darknet drugs as and if it eroded the cartal power base.  But that's evidence of a wider problem, as Mexico can't even get the Ebay economy functioning across it's borders.  In other words, Mexico can't operate "darknet drug sales", because it can't even trade simple crap with Ebay with US consumers.  Thus a corrupt country, with corruption at the borders regarding goods in and out, destroys not just simple everyday cases of free trade, but also the specific issue you cite of the "benefits of darknet drugs", and assists the drug cartals in their power grabs.

Neither are we any better with the "war against drugs" and the agencies founded and funded with such an ill defined mission profile.

we're not talking about mexico as a consumer of drugs though. we are talking about it as being an exporter of it.
1736  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Ok about activity and time logged in. on: June 02, 2014, 07:20:20 AM
Yeah, I figured it out, I've only been logged in technically 2 days and a couple hours so I probably won't see another rank for a while. But at any rate thanks for all the help and advice guys!

once you hit activity level 120, which is like what, 3 update periods (6 weeks maximum), you'll reach full member status.
1737  Other / Meta / Re: Request: Separate "Computer Hardware" subforum on: June 02, 2014, 07:16:06 AM
yeah good idea to filter out the parts that are not needed. maybe a new "trade" section should be put up.. one subforum for miners and another for everything else.
1738  Economy / Economics / Re: The American Dream on: June 02, 2014, 07:14:21 AM
i am confused.. he quoted george carlin earlier in page 1. and it's a joke at the expense of the :american dream"..
1739  Economy / Economics / Re: The American Dream on: June 02, 2014, 07:05:22 AM
"It's called the American dream because you have to be asleep to believe it."
-George Carlin

Another relevant quote from Carlin that I like:

Quote
For a long time, my stand-up material has drawn from three sources. The first is the English language: words, phrases, sayings, and the way we speak. The second source, as with most comedians, has been what I think of as the “little world,” those things we all experience every day: driving, food, pets, relationships, and idle thoughts. The third area is what I call the”big world”: war, politics, race, death, and social issues. Without having actually measured, I would say this book reflects the balance very closely. The first two areas will speak for themselves, but concerning the “big world,” let me say a few things.

I’m happy to tell you there is very little in this world that I believe in. Listening to the comedians who comment on political, social, and cultural issues, I notice most of their material reflects an underlying belief that somehow things were better once and that with just a little effort we could set them right again. They’re looking for solutions, and rooting for particular results, and I think that necessarily limits the tone and substance of what they say. They’re talented and funny people, but they’re nothing more than cheerleaders attached to a specific, wished-for outcome. I don’t feel so confined. I frankly don’t give a fuck how it all turns out in this country – or anywhere else, for that matter. I think the human game was up a long time ago (when the high priests and traders took over), and now we’re just playing out the string. And that is, of course, precisely what I find so amusing: the slow circling of the drain by a once promising species, and the sappy, ever-more-desperate belief in this country that there is actually some sort of “American Dream,” which has merely been misplaced. The decay and disintegration of this culture is astonishingly amusing if you are emotionally detached from it. I have always viewed it from a safe distance, knowing I don’t belong; it doesn’t include me, and it never has. No matter how you care to define it, I do not identify with the local group. Planet, species, race, nation, state, religion, party, union, club, association, neighborhood, improvement committee; I have no interest in any of it. I love and treasure individuals as I meet them, I loathe and despise the groups they identify with and belong to. So, if you read something in this book that sounds like advocacy of a particular political point of view, please reject the notion. My interest in “issues” is merely to point out how badly we’re doing, not to suggest a way we might do better. Don’t confuse me with those who cling to hope. I enjoy describing how things are, I have no interest in how they “ought to be.” And I certainly have no interest in fixing them. I sincerely believe that if you think there’s a solution, you’re part of the problem. My motto: Fuck Hope! P.S. Lest you wonder, personally, I am a joyful individual with a long, happy marriage and a close and loving family. My career has turned out better than I ever dreamed, and continues to expand. I am a personal optimist but skeptic about all else. What may sound to some like anger is really nothing more than sympathetic contempt. I view my species with a combination of wonder and pity, and I root for it’s destruction. And please don’t confuse my point of view with cynicism; the real cynics are the ones who tell you everything’s gonna be all right. P.P.S. By the way, if, by chance, you folks do manage to straighten things out and make everything better, I still don’t wish to be included.

Pretty amusing for a useless mouthy fool who has been suckling on the man tits of those 'sappy dreams' for all his life, yet finds it comfortable enough to bitch about it Smiley

George Carlin and the rest of those posh smart mouths are in fact the pus dripping from over abundance and complacency that is the cancer of any developed society.

Take note and check yourselves...fucking kids these days Smiley

wait, what's your reason for not liking george carlin? isn't he the guy who says to question everything and how fucked up it is?
1740  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Snowden should 'man-up' and face trial: says SOS John Kerry on: June 02, 2014, 07:00:37 AM
"manning up" and "facing trial" with his charges of treason, it would be in a private military style tribunal.  he will not be seen again or be heard of.  no more interviews, do not pass go, do not collect $200
They can force sex change surgery on him, turning him into Barbara or Tiffany Snowden. And nobody would be able to prevent this due to absence of public control.

well, um shit, that is a mindfuck.. "man up.. and get brainwashed into being a woman." and you know, that is something that could have happened to bradley MANNING.
