1701  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if someday Bitcoin Foundation votes to remove 21M limitation? on: June 04, 2014, 01:31:59 AM
if this happened, i'd invest in other alt currencies because it would totally crash the price of BTC, and people would look elsewhere. since i'd guess that people who are involved with bitcoin own them, i don't think they'd do this.. unless they dumped their coins beforehand.
1702  Other / Politics & Society / Re: China: Detention of human rights defenders following commemoration of 1989 Tiana on: June 04, 2014, 01:30:08 AM
The Chinese Communists are scum, arguably the worst group of people in history.

They are scum. But I wouldn't classify them as the worst group of people in the history. There were groups who did even worse, such as the Nazis. One of the worst groups... to be precise.

i don't think they are the worst either.. not close. i don't like them though.. they want to be the next united states of america, albeit without free speech.
1703  Other / Off-topic / Re: TV Series Recommendations... on: June 04, 2014, 01:28:27 AM
I dunno how many of you guys are fans of "Dual Survuval" series but I hope you know seson 5th is on air and already 5 episodes were emitted.

It's kinda revolutionary season because one of them will leave this series forever Smiley and new guy (who lived 20 years in a jungle) joined their team! Wink

I love survival series Wink

Ps. Bear Grylls -  "The Island" isn't such great ...

bear grylls sleeps in hotels and pretends to be out in the wilderness. as for me, i' m a fan of dual survival. i'm a huge cody fan, but the new guy jives much better with joe. joe in the last episode was hilarious, even if i don't like him.
1704  Other / Off-topic / Re: How to get money? on: June 03, 2014, 11:38:04 PM
Sell acid on silkroad.  Not that I do that.  But it's a good idea.

if you don't sell on silk road, then you are definitely buying from there.
1705  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Life after Silk Road: how the darknet drugs market is booming on: June 03, 2014, 10:07:09 PM
It seems pretty clear that we won't have to wait that much to see a change in policy about drugs, from a repressive policy to a therapeutic and tolerant one.

Even Clinton, that kept the Bush war on drugs, is backing down: http://www.usnews.com/news/blogs/washington-whispers/2012/12/03/bill-clinton-jimmy-carter-slam-war-on-drugs-in-new-documentary

If we keep this way, soon certain states will end as failed states. Mexico seems to be going this path.

those people are former presidents, not people who are part of the establishment. i don't think the war on drugs is going to change.. the government likes to put minorities in jail, maybe because there's a capitalistic business model built around it.
1706  Other / Off-topic / Re: How to get money? on: June 03, 2014, 09:27:12 PM
this is a question that everyone seems to have.. short of robbing someone, finding a job, or praying to god.. there is no real answer.
1707  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Safest wallet on: June 03, 2014, 07:41:19 PM
Well I dont know if I really need any special requirements, I just want to store my BTC Smiley

Then get any of the main ones: bitcoin qt, electrum, mycelium etc or even an online blockchain.info one. Just make sure you set up all the security features ie 2-factor auth and second password etc.

i have some coins on blockchain but i don't like putting my fate in someone else's hands.

i never really liked paper wallets either, since it's easy to lose and someone else can stumble upon it.
1708  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Safest wallet on: June 03, 2014, 07:31:20 PM
if you want a safe cold storage wallet that is easy and secure, consider electrum.. i found it to be the most user friendly. it can be kind of buggy though, at least the versions that i had.
1709  Other / Off-topic / Re: So... Yeah, 'Murican's lost some sense on: June 03, 2014, 07:23:02 PM
Honestly, I know Americans won't like this but I think one of America's basic problems is total apathy and incompetence mixed into one ridiculous bundle that makes them look incredibly stupid to the rest of the world, so long as their own little bubble isn't interfered with they're perfectly content to let the rest of the land destroy itself.

i think this is intentional.. bombard people with distractions (entertainment, media) and defund education, or make it more difficult to get it, and you'll see a dumber society. the more apathetic they are, the more you can get away with.
1710  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Paypal Buyer Protection on: June 03, 2014, 07:15:00 PM
i guess that's the cost of your lesson. dealing through paypal + too good to be true. it's a good idea to exercise caution.. that should be rule #1 for bitcoin.
1711  Economy / Services / Re: $10,000 for information $50,000 for conviction. OgNasty on: June 03, 2014, 06:57:52 PM
i'm lost here.. is this a joke that i'm not in on? none of this makes any sense.. if OP is serious, then he's not very smart.. making accusations with no context/links/info.
1712  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Life after Silk Road: how the darknet drugs market is booming on: June 03, 2014, 06:56:27 PM
It seems Silk Road II already has more drugs for sale than Silk Road I ever had: www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/04/30/silk-road_n_5241316.html

The cops must feel pretty frustrated. It's like fighting the mythical hydra, you cut one head, but instantly two new emerge.

i don't know, the original SR was down for some time, and the wasn't any true contender except for the current SR 2.0.. i wonder if they caught the new SR 2.0 guys, whether a new service similar to SR 2.0 would erect.
1713  Other / Off-topic / Re: TV Series Recommendations... on: June 03, 2014, 06:54:48 PM
I've not seen Crossbones but it doesn't really interest me, and there does seem to be quite a lot of vanpire TV shows around at the moment. I kinda like True Blood though but don't care for any of the others.

vampire shows are so cheap.. i wouldn't mind a good show/movie about vampires, but it just seems so boring/lowest common denominator for me.
1714  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Jedgement Day in T-minus 26 Hours on: June 03, 2014, 03:22:30 PM
if it starts hitting close to $900, i'd think we might be in for a bull run like the last 2.. for now, it's gone up something like 30%, which is a good amount.. but it might just fizzle out.
1715  Other / Meta / Re: I was banned I post at Off-topic on: June 03, 2014, 03:20:58 PM
there are a lot of non-native english speakers here.. maybe there should be a subforum for them. that would be one confusing ass subforum though  Wink
1716  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Just bought an Android phone for the BTC apps. Did I goof? on: June 03, 2014, 06:19:45 AM
i know i'm bias and all, but you can never go wrong with leaving apple. fuck them.

off topic: not only are they nazis who want to control everything (and build business models where they trap you into their ecosystem and suck your wallet dry), they're also not nearly as user intuitive as people seem to think (at least in my opinion). like extracting files from your phone.. i don't know how to actually do it, especially since there's no micro SD slot.
1717  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Snowden should 'man-up' and face trial: says SOS John Kerry on: June 03, 2014, 06:18:17 AM

i'm kind of tempted to bet the GOP candidate losing to hilary, mainly because the republicans don't have enough broad appeal. though i won't vote for hilary, i wouldn't mind putting my money on her.

I wouldn't consider Rand a frontrunner. CPAC and similar early straw polls tend to lean towards younger, libertarian (at least perceived libertarians) but establishment candidates are tough to beat in the larger states. Paul will probably struggle for donors in CA, TX, OH. Current trends shouldn't be taken as a reasonable projection by any means.

FYI, those pollsters seem to manipulate the numbers.. i wonder if it's politics, or if it's people making money off of these  futures estimates.
1718  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Citi: Bitcoin a Threat to Debit and Credit Card Issuers on: June 03, 2014, 06:15:04 AM
i really hope citi doesn't consider it a big threat.. they'll group up with their banking compatriots and buy the shit out of washington, and the magically all of a sudden.. a majority of our elected officials will be absolutely against bitcoin.
1719  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Solar Roadways... on: June 03, 2014, 06:11:55 AM
Slightly off-topic...  but everyone should read this before supporting any form of solar energy.

sometimes it's not just about cost. sometimes it's about the rising climate and how it affects the planet we live on. that's actually much more important than making people extremely rich. at least to me.
1720  Other / Off-topic / Re: What do you HATE most? on: June 03, 2014, 06:10:02 AM
i can't stand people who cheat/don't play by the rules, especially when everyone else is playing fair.
