1761  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk and Zach Kirkhorn to be known with New titles on: March 16, 2021, 06:21:33 AM
As usual! There would be always a corresponding title that would really be mold on. Cheesy
That is if that title was to catch up with the general public which is in between likely and unlikely. But considering that this titles can be pick up by big magazines such as Time, maybe they might be able to make the title cling to the back of the minds of many people. What does these title do in the first place? Now that I think about it the title "Master of Coin" sounds a lot like it came from the series Game of Thrones.

1763  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Time to update "Visions of Bitcoin"? on: March 16, 2021, 04:57:08 AM

What does this image exactly mean, in a layman's term, I don't have a clue with this one. We could say that censorship resistant e-gold has been here for a long time if we were to consider bitcoin mixers/tumblers. I do agree about the inflation hedge, since bitcoin has risen in prices these past few months.
1764  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: New Government Rules Mean No More Gambling Sponsorship on: March 15, 2021, 12:49:25 PM
Such news is already beginning to annoy me greatly - the government has banned that, the government has forbidden it. I'm wondering how these ideas come about? Where did they come from? A parasite official sits and thinks - what should be further prohibited? Or is it a covert struggle of competitors and officials are used as a tool in it? I wish I knew the answers to the questions, but most of all I would like the government to meddle less in the private affairs of people and in private business.
Well, it's not just the politician's fault that crypto is banned, the people who sponsored their campaigns AKA the big companies are the ones behind some legislations that they put in place. If you are annoyed of that then you should know by now that the only way for this people not get the seat of power is to vote wisely, be critical thinking so as not to choose the most corrupt in the bunch of candidates. If government were to meddle in the private businesses then a lot of exploitation might happen behind the scene.
1765  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Fake bets on: March 15, 2021, 12:05:10 PM
If they are fair in their games, I don't think that it won't matter that much, they were trying to deceive the amount of people that has been playing in their website and I think that I wouldn't mind that, maybe when the time that they are rigging their own games then that will be the time that I will be having a problem with them. But to be fair to others who don't want this kind of thing to be done, we really can't do much about it because most of the advertised gambling websites are the ones that are more reputable, what I mean by that is I am willing to trust a website that is advertising rather than those that are not doing anything to make their website known to the public.

I think it all depends on how the advertisements are being made public. If a streamer shows his winnings in a game but doesn't disclose that he is being paid by the casino he is playing in. Than there is definitely something wrong. Everybody understands that casinos need to make advertising. But they shouldn't try and fool their customers in larger probabilities of winning. It's just wrong to see a streamer win a lot of money in fake bets when everything is rigged.
Isn't that the point of those streamers playing at the casino? They get payed to play although they have to explicitly state that they are sponsored by that casino but in any other case I think that it is bad, I remember the time where some CS:GO streamers were promoting I guess or playing at a skin slot machine to encourage their fans to play not knowing that they are the owners of the website and the website was rigged for the streamers.
1766  Economy / Speculation / Re: Btc will be 120000 USD maximum this 2021 on: March 15, 2021, 11:20:54 AM
That is not exactly how someone with a research will say their predictions, to make sure that their claim is worth looking into, they have the evidences, they will provide context in the OP because some people will be lazy to read if there are external links provided, external links for the research is provided, and the credibility of the researcher is also provided. Now if those things that I listed were in checkbox form, I am glad to say that OP left everything unchecked. But seriously, everyone has been speculating the price of bitcoin, and everyone thinks it will stop at some point. Also, why do an extensive research on something that is easily speculated, I mean anyone can say that it will stop at that price.
1767  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting Experiment #2: Chasing the Draw on: March 15, 2021, 10:36:23 AM
As long as your bankroll as big enough, it could work. You could also considering laying come correct scores on betting exchanges. Laying the 1-1 correct score is usually around 7.00 odds.
That could be a possibility but considering that @Pmalek got profit in the experiment, I think that it is worth the risk despite needing a large bankroll. That will be problematic for this experiment because you have to make sure that the score will stay that way and it is really difficult to predict the score on a draw.

1769  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do You Trust In-House Casino Competition? (Wager/Multiplier/Raffle) on: March 15, 2021, 09:22:51 AM
Nothing actually. Only the integrity of the owners which is questionable since they set up a gambling site in the first place. Then again if you think your favorite casino is trying to pull a fast one on you, I guess it's best to find another that you could wholeheartedly trust, be it in rewards or in-house competitions.
If you were thinking that your casino is going to pull a fast one then you know that they don't have a good reputation and you shouldn't be playing there in the first place, I believe that there is no compromise to that because you wouldn't be a patron of that casino if it has a bad reputation in the first place. In short, if you are a patron of that casino then you don't have to worry that they are going to do a fast one with their In-House Competitions.
1770  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin/Crypto Carbon Tax? on: March 15, 2021, 08:41:28 AM
Well, if the mines could lower their carbon footprint, then they can use that to get some benefits like taxes being slashed or other benefits that I couldn't think of for the reason that in my country, there isn't a lot of carbon footprint involved laws imposed although there are a lot of factories in my city.

In the future, electricity consumption will go down drastically as mining equipment manufacturers will be able to manufacture rigs that are more energy efficient. Also, there will be a move towards renewable energy sources such as wind and solar energy. That said, I don't understand why no one is talking about the carbon footprint for fiat currency. Do you guys know how many hectares of forest is cut down every year, to print banknotes?
The problem with renewable resources is that most of them are pretty expensive which can take up to years to upset the cost. Just because fiat is the enemy of cryptocurrency doesn't mean that they are not innovating too, I think that there isn't going to be a need to cut trees anymore as time goes on because most fiat are slowly going to the polymer type of currency and most of the current fiat is not purely paper because if that were the case, a one time exposure to water is going to destroy that fiat, they are a mixture of cotton and other things to make it sturdy against elements.
1771  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Longtime bitcoin holder starting to question the future on: March 15, 2021, 08:10:14 AM
That is what you call a hindsight, he could've bought more but he didn't so there is no point regretting what you didn't do in the past, the important thing is that you bought bitcoin and you earn a lot of money because you have faith that it will grow more than just its current amount at that time.

1773  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do people care who Satoshi is/was? on: March 15, 2021, 05:53:20 AM
I think Satoshi knew that Bitcoin had the potential to disempower some of the most powerful organizations on the planet so chose to remain anonymous. We should respect that
I agree that we should respect but does it answer the question about why do people care who satoshi is? I think it is a no-brainer that satoshi wants to be anonymous because satoshi knows that he/she is going to be attacking conglomerates and the established financial institutions. I think the reason that people care about satoshi's identity being revealed is because of plain curiosity, they want the mystery to be unraveled like how you want to know the trick behind the magic.
1774  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: who controls the bitcoin price? on: March 14, 2021, 05:19:43 AM
I don't think rich people will control bitcoin. I prove that many rich people are wrong to monitor the market and they lose it proves that rich people and a lot of money can't control bitcoin I conclude bitcoin cannot be controlled, free and independent bitcoin
That's where you are wrong, with enough money they can buy enough bitcoin to make the market move to their liking, rich people have been doing this kind of thing in the stock market and the only difference with cryptocurrency market is that it is far more volatile than stock market, they are the reason why some stocks that are going down because they manipulate the market but in a subtle way. The price of bitcoin I believe is being controlled by the supply and demand, the supply goes low, the demand goes up, as simple as that.
1775  Economy / Speculation / Re: First Batch of $1,400 Stimulus Checks Hit Bank Accounts Starting Today on: March 14, 2021, 04:14:22 AM
OMG no wonder why the price of big coins are going up, with that stimulus theres a lot of people who turn it into investing in cryptocurrency.

This month it's gonna be lit and i think the price of bitcoin will reach $65-$70k before the end of this month.
Considering that there is a chance that out of the 400 billion of that stimulus rollout, if bitcoin were to ever get at least 100 billion USD of that, I think that we are talking more than just 65k to 70k USD because back when Tesla did a purchase of 1.5 billion USD, the price moved a considerable amount and if that happens now, I think that there will be a big skyrocket in the prices but considering the current prices we might not be sure that people are going buy bitcoin with their stimulus checks.
1776  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is for Holders! on: March 13, 2021, 08:12:27 AM
Bitcoin price don't have anything to do with corona virus lockdown, what I know vividly that gives people money via cryptocurrency is investment and long time holding Bitcoin, people who knows the rudiments of Bitcoin can only buy and hold, right now coins you purchase early this year will not have the same values in text five months because it appreciates and it's increments always be different from initial values.
Are there any evidence to support that bitcoin price increase doesn't have any correlation to the COVID lockdown, isn't the stimulus package date coincide with the date that bitcoin price spikes and stimulus checks are given because of the pandemic so in short, COVID did contribute to the growth of bitcoin. The coin that someone buys depends whether it gains some prominence as some of these coins are just a easy money for the creator and they don't have the time to follow it up.
1777  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does BITCOIN make a person's life better !? on: March 13, 2021, 07:28:11 AM
It depends to be honest, the early adopters of bitcoin definitely had their lives changed for the better because they got the bitcoin at such a low price that they got an astronomical profit. But now that the prices of bitcoin in US dollars is pushing the 6 digit territory, I don't think that bitcoin alone is enough to make someone's life better, they need to hustle harder and they need to find more ways to make money, bitcoin is there to help but it is not the cure.
1778  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The history of bitcoin ATMs is much longer than I thought! on: March 13, 2021, 06:54:44 AM
Its quite surprising how far, and wide the ATMs have reached around the world. I've some some in foreign countries, as well as being in my home country. I'm never really seen the need to use one, over other more traditional ways, especially if you were to consider tampering, which occasionally can occur with non cryptocurrency ATMs. Personally, I prefer to purchase from an exchange, but I'm curious in this day, and age what would be the benefit for a cryptocurrency ATM other than being a gimmick?
Maybe the same thing that a normal ATM is going to offer is what a crypto ATM does, I don't think that there isn't much different. I too am surprised, as far as I know, in my country there isn't even one bitcoin ATM at the moment which isn't bad at all because that means that there are some regulations and taxations involved when you use their services.
The ATM would themselves add a markup, very much like traditional exchanges, these days everyone offering a service usually requires KYC, and therefore that eliminates the privacy aspect that these provided once upon a time, and by using a ATM you are publicly advertising that you are into Bitcoin, and with the recent surges in Bitcoin, one might become a higher priority target than traditional ATM users.
I mean, there is nothing wrong with that I guess, just wear a mask, fake beard, contact lenses, and a beanie to hide your face from the ATM cameras, I am pretty sure that no one is going to bat an eye if you are to do that.
There's also the fact that these ATMs are usually situated in cities, and therefore require traveling to get to for a lot of people which either adds to the costs, or simply as it was in your case; adds some muscle. I would be particularly interested in seeing the statistics of how often these devices are used, since I simply can't see them being viable for most users, or at least not very convenient.
It is good that it is in the city because there are more people there, the requirement to travel to city to get to a bitcoin ATM is not the fault of the ATMs themselves because they are a business and they need to target more people as much as possible, the real goobers in that scenario is the government that didn't develop the outskirts of the city.
1779  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "What happens if bitcoin succeeds?" on: March 13, 2021, 05:54:24 AM
Bitcoin is not reserved for the elites, bankers, and the royals. You, me, and everyone else have a choice to invest in it or not. This forum proves that you can earn Bitcoin even without investing by providing a valuable service, advertising, etc. Bitcoin will not create inequality in the world, we already had that before. It might not make you filthy rich, but it can help many people to afford things they otherwise wouldn't be able to purchase.
We could say that bitcoin is not reserved for those at the top but with the current prices, it is getting true day by day. The people at the top can afford the price at any given time and those below them will have to make do with what they can afford and those at the lowest aren't even aware or doesn't have any opportunity to learn about bitcoin. So yeah, I disagree with you that bitcoin is not reserved for the elites. I do agree with you about the inequalities, this has been a thing even before the age of Internet.
1780  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The meme that started it all - "Magic internet money Join Us!" on: March 13, 2021, 05:14:04 AM
I am just seeing this avatar on @mk4, never put that much thought about it and now it presents itself that it has some deep history with bitcoin itself. I like the doodle but the transformation that they did with it by making it look like on of those Hearthstone cards is really amazing. Maybe Hearthstone could consider adding Bitcoin Wizard in their game as a tribute or a spoof for bitcoin anniversary someday.
