1841  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Another month of March on: March 05, 2021, 05:12:15 PM
Can we leave clairvoyance out of the equation please? Let March and all the other months be ... months! Market conditions saw a slight decline which is also good to prepare the ground for future legs up.
We all know what happened last year but let that be an unprecedented series of events as it cannot happen again!
That's true. I guess they are just basing off past events to predict what may happen next. We should know that it's not how Bitcoin works. It keeps surprising us with events and up til now it never cease to amaze us. Whatever happens in this month we should be ready, may it be depressing or relieving. Of course, always stick to your plan if you have one! Always think before you do something.
1842  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I quit smoking and buy Bitcoin every week on: March 05, 2021, 04:42:20 PM
Wow. This is the first time I saw the thread and I am encouraged with what the OP did and the encouragement on the replies. If only people will also start the habit, not only their physical health is good, but also their financial assets! I believe it's hard to quit smoking since my grandfather had a hard time cutting the habit, but great job on OP's discipline and truly your decision was worth it and you won't regret it.
1843  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as a world power? on: March 05, 2021, 04:16:29 PM
IF only that happens. It's good to let the people know more about bitcoin and let them use it to see the benefits. The time will come that everybody is using it and let's see if governments and central banks would still insist not changing their point of view. It will be their loss especially the citizens are using it, they're not looking onto the bright side of having bitcoin. As long as it stays decentralized, it will be the hub of people for their financial assets.
1844  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin after the pandemic on: March 05, 2021, 03:31:08 PM
This is when Bitcoin was seen as a solution. Its deflationary and safe-heaven characteristics were recognized and everyone became abruptly bullish. Now I wonder, what will happen to Bitcoin once the pandemic is over? Once we'll live just like we did in 2019? It will surely have a big impact on the market, but I don't know if it'll be a negative or a positive for Bitcoin.

Pandemic has been rough for everybody, and we find it hard to find solutions especially in the beginning where we all adjust and don't know what to do. Bitcoin has been there for us; it was a choice for us if we're gonna use it or not. In this pandemic, a lot of people have relied on bitcoin and used it for a while now. So if ever everything come's back to normal, I doubt that bitcoin will be affected negatively about it, since bitcoin is not really for the pandemic use only, and I believe a lot of people will realize this.
1845  Economy / Economics / Re: Why should i invest in bitcoin or other cryptos ? on: March 05, 2021, 02:59:58 PM
You have to understand bitcoin is quite different than traditional investments, so don't consider it with land. It's a different type of investment. Risk is very high and profit is also quite high. So, you have to choose if you want to involve in that type of things or not.

This is true in many ways. In bitcoin, don't find your dividend because it's not how that works. In investing in bitcoin, you hold your money, you control your money; you can decide anything as long as it's yours. Investing in Bitcoin is high risk since its price is volatile, but there are findings that bitcoin's volatility rate is decreasing. Still not the reason to be complacent.
1846  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin advertising by celebrities. on: March 05, 2021, 02:38:27 PM
I've seen this before I think the celebrity is not advertising bitcoin itself but the wallet she is promoting. Well it's nice to see if some celebrity will advertise Bitcoin on their own freewill and not because they are being paid.
Now that it has been mentioned, even if they are 'just celebrities' who don't know much about bitcoin, they still affect somehow people since they are influencers. Yes, their knowledge is not much about Bitcoin, cryptocurrencies, and such, unlike our investors and traders, but still it does have an effect on their followers. That might be effective since a lot of people will be reached out especially those who do not know things about cryptocurrency.
1847  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where will someone who has no knowledge of bitcoin start from to learn? on: March 03, 2021, 02:50:41 PM
You can start at the Beginners & Help(Click this to go to Beginners & Help)
I am suggesting the same thread since you are here in this forum, start from the basics, and also, if you want to know more except from this forum there are now a lot of websites that discusses about bitcoin and posts updates about it. I also learned different terms I don't understand as a newbie in the beginner's thread, and also, you can also ask what you wanted to know in that, of course don't believe all that you read. it is important to cross reference always.
1848  Other / Off-topic / Re: How do you feel about Bitcoin today? on: March 01, 2021, 04:11:56 PM
Personally speaking, seeing Bitcoin's state now compared to years ago, it's really a lot better. I can't complain about its price only a half of a hundred thousand, since we really cannot do about it. I think instead of complaining of its price, which we can't control, we should focus on what action can we do about it. Bitcoin is unstable, and this is beyond our control, and we all know that we really can't do anything about things that we can't change.
1849  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Patience isn't everything on: February 28, 2021, 11:45:36 AM
When I was still a newbie to crypto many people told me to keep holding and that's all I did for many years and in the end I ended up with many dead coins, whenever I keep seeing people talking about patience as if it's the only thing a newbie need I always shake my head, the fact is you need more than patience to get good results from projects, having patience sometimes will get you nothing
It is true that patience is not enough, but what else do we need to know? As what you have said I can say that you want to tell the others to be wise on the crypto you are holding your money to. Don't just randomly put your money to different crypto, ask the others, search in the net about the coin. Besides patience, you need wit and tactics. It's money we are talking about after all.
1850  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you get mad when the price of your cryptos go higher after you have sold on: February 28, 2021, 11:21:52 AM
It can't be avoided. It's frustrating every times and there will be moments that you may not want to sell anymore but that's the lesson. Of course you should learn the next time, and don't try panic selling just because the price is not looking good. It's really good to have a plan and stick to it, no matter what. If you have no goals then surely you look like wandering and you don't have a track to go to.
1851  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: lets imagine world without fiat currency on: February 28, 2021, 10:59:03 AM
I can't imagine how much will be the price of essential goods using bitcoin and without fiat currency. If the value of bitcoin is very expensive and without fiat I think it would be difficult for the people in a lower level because if you will use bitcoin to buy and pay your essentials it will also expensive compared to a fiat money. Fiat money has a lower value than bitcoin and you can carry it but bitcoin always needs internet in order to make transactions.
I am thinking the same thing. What if bitcoin will be implemented all around the world, what will happen to third world countries? I think even if it is a good thing for most of the people, it will be kinda problematic to some countries. Also, without fiat, how can we know a certain price of something? Fiat pretty much symbolizes every country, cause it has its own value, and own name. Maybe countries don't like bitcoin because of that.
1852  Economy / Economics / Re: The bitter reality on: February 28, 2021, 10:32:54 AM
That's so disappointing.  Instead supporting the country to welcome innovations and new knowledge that may be useful to its citizens, they are the obstacle itself to prevent its citizens to success. They are blind in seeing bitcoin as an opportunity to the country and do they not know that it is very beneficial to know these kinds of things? It opens minds of people who are stuck in terms of financial crisis.
1853  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin can / cannot replace the banks ? on: February 28, 2021, 10:11:51 AM
They are of the point of view that since internet cannot replace the newspapers, the same is true with the banks. Being a crypto lover, i would love to see banks eliminated but does these big people with so much money will let that happen  Huh
They will co-exist, no matter what they say and what point they're comparing bitcoin with. Bitcoin will keep going with such use that we're embracing through it. We can hold it as if we're the bank on our own and holding it through our wallets.
Just ignore what they say, they can't beat bitcoin while us moving forward, they'll come along in the middle of the road.
I'll agree to what you said. Despite Bitcoin's continuous growth in number of people using it and its price, it won't replace banks just because we think it is more dominant or useful to us. Banks existed a long time ago and the concept of it why do we have up until now was established from before. No one will replace the other, as they are both essential to the economic functions we have in our current system.
1854  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin can't be used for transactions? on: February 27, 2021, 05:43:32 PM
With the Bitcoin's price today surely there are lots of transaction happening globally but some actually don't suffer from that. There are actually bitcoin wallets application that has many functions; and you can even process different types of transactions.

Well there are some apps that provided me the convenience for those. I can convert mine easily to cash.
Purchasing using Bitcoin isn't that much of a problem because I can't pretty much just do the conversion then pay through the converted amount.
If you reside in PH, you can use Coins.ph app.

I use the same app and it is really good actually because transactions are faster than the others. Converting from fiat to btc and vice versa is smooth in the app. Cheesy
1855  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is a Lifeboat on: February 27, 2021, 05:21:57 PM
I cannot accept Bitcoin as a Lifeboat. I don't expect even crypto to replace fiat.

But I accept crypto as a doorstep to many (earning) opportunities that don't exist in the fiat world. I'm optimistic but cautious.
Same thought. Even with bitcoin's current status, we still can't conclude anything after all, especially of it's bitcoin we're talking about. I have seen a thread in this forum that the volatility rate of bitcoin is going down these days, but we can't trust on it. Yes, bitcoin has been a lifesaver for some but can't still replace fiat. We should just keep on investing in bitcoin and don't worry, this is the only start of the long journey bitcoin will take.
1856  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do I convince people that Bitcoin isn't a financial pyramid? on: February 27, 2021, 04:58:06 PM
You have some good points over there. But you missed one thing. Tell them to read news or articles form reliable and authentic sources. Most of those people that think bitcoin is a "financial pyramid" or scam are the ones that read news or articles from some random clickbait sites or from social media. Articles they read are mainly FUDs. Mainstream media mainly broadcasts/publishes news that has somewhat a "negative" tone towards crypto currencies.
Provide them with links and sources where they will be able to enlighten themselves properly.

This is true. I don't know what's the deal of the accounts randomly posting comments on social media platforms about crypto and they are mentioning the same person about it, but definitely I won't believe in them. First, the posts are all the same, copy pasted from one source, and we don't know who that is. Also, It really looks like a scam and also the accounts who post it. So instead of people encouraging to use bitcoin, it became annoying to them, without knowing if it is real about what it is saying about crypto. If we want to convince people, we should start teaching them properly about it.
1857  Economy / Economics / Re: The volatility in the price of a bitcoin is falling over time on: February 25, 2021, 05:53:45 PM
I think the biggest factor that caused this is the growing number of bitcoin users. In the past most of bitcoin users are traders who can make extreme price volatility but now more people and business who use bitcoin as medium of payment. Many new people come to buy bitcoin when there is panic selling. When more people come to get involved in bitcoin market it can reduce the price fluctuations. I think this condition is very good for early adopters because the demand keep increase while they already have a lot of amount of bitcoin.

I also think that might be the case. As a person who have seen bitcoin's proce before a long time ago it kinda discourages me that there are only few people who knows of this great cryptocurrency and it should not be a waste. It will really benefit old users and of course newbies who recently invested in bitcoin because if it's not that volatile, then users will not bother if the price goes down than we have expected.
1858  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will bitcoin end the dollar’s reign? on: February 25, 2021, 04:17:14 PM
Perhaps this will happen, but not as soon as we would like it to be. As someone wrote above, some countries have not yet accepted Bitcoin as a payment method, and this is indeed the problem. But I enjoy seeing that more and more people are talking about bitcoin, many companies are entering the crypto industry.
We're really not sure about that. We all know how dollar lasted, and bitcoin, a cryptocurrency (we all do know that its price is unstable) will be reigning over it. Bitcoin is not even known yet by the whole world. It has a very long way to go before we can say the statement the OP has stated. There are lots of factors to consider before this can be concluded.
1859  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Knowing bitcoin is achievement on: February 25, 2021, 03:55:39 PM

1860  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Has Bitcoin Failed as Money? on: February 24, 2021, 03:01:40 PM
You know that it can be used for large transactions and of course to the merchants and companies who accept it as a payment. We are practically in the beginning of a long journey of bitcoin; we should understand that it is still unaccessible for countries who ban the use of it, and also those people who merely just can't access it due to their status. We can't conclude to the statement that it failed as a money.
