Don't rush an update to 0.3.3.3 , I just lost all coins while test sending 10ks to another wallet.. merge didn't help. update on your own risk.
SIA-UI 3.3.3 W7 64 bit Did you create a new address in 3.3.3 to receive your sent coins? from old wallet 3.3.2? and be sure to only have 1 wallet open at a time. That was one way I had to do it on 1 pc. The rest of my upgrades on other PC's went smooth as previously done by simply installing/directory 3.3.3 open and run new client let it up date. Close it. Then I copied and pasted my Wallet FOLDER from 3.3.2 (with all my coins and addresses) into the new SIA folder and replaced the new wallet that had Been created in 3.3.3. (you can just delete the new wallet or rename like wallet1 first - Do not merge this way ) Launch SIA 3.3.3 and all coins and addresses should be there. The only reason I had to send coins with the one wallet was I had clicked on the "Update now button" which is a no no lol Maybe this will help.

I'm wondering if it's mining and just returning a wrong hashrate or if it's making bogus calculations. i believe it would possibly be the latter - miscalculations ... if it is going that crazy with hashrate - its probably right ... it is crazy ... ive stopped mining sia until i can locate the other coins - which wont happen till next week when i get back to the office ... while taek and the crew are doing a great job updating the wallet and backend - mining seems a hit and miss thing on here ... at least for now ... and with the advent of the pool / stratum code ( if it comes about soon ) there is bound to be many issues with implementation ... though i REALLY hope im wrong on that point ... im in this eitherway - but the farm is being utilized in other ways for the moment ... especially while we are updating it ... #crysx

I am staying with 0.3.3.1, Taek you should take care of this ASAP. This is unacceptable! Anything below 0.3.3.3 is going to probably get hardforked off of the network in the next few days, there is a consensus bug. You really do need to upgrade. I'm not sure what happened with mishax1, but: 0. Always, always back up your wallet before you do anything. New addresses get created everytime you: + upload a file + send money to someone + mine a block + get a new hosting contract When a new wallet address gets created it's almost certain that there will be coins sent to that address. It's part of the privacy features of the wallet. (because of this reason, it's actually very hard to create something like a 'rich list' in Sia). This new address is not going to be in any of your previous backups, which means you need to back up the wallet again. My guess is that mixhax1 sent his coins after he created the wallet, and then when he upgraded the new address got obliterated. We should have set up the wallet to use pregenerated addresses. That was a mistake on our part, and it's a fix coming in 0.4.0. 1. Don't use the 'auto-upgrade' button. Download the new UI from the github page. 2. Make sure that siad is NOT running when copying over the wallet file. Sometimes, siad is running in the background. And easy way to check is to go to 'localhost:9980'. If you get the message "Browser access disabled due to security vulnerability. Use Sia-UI or siac." it means that siad is still running in the background, and you need to close it before updating the wallet. Again we are sorry for the hassle. We know how to address at least some of these problems, but pulling together the fixes is going to take time. This upgrade is the last upgrade for a while, please take the time to upgrade and move your coins over. There is a hard fork coming and you need to have upgraded before it happens. You will not lose coins as long as you avoid using a wallet that you already backed up. how mine to remote wallet?
It's not currently possible, and isn't very high on the priority list compared to some other major features we need. Uh got it, someone removed the code needed to make timing work on linux. Why the hell, I really don't know. I'll need to revert some changes manually 😠
Still works for me, I'm not sure why removing that code caused problems. I thought that the code I removed was about changing the timer from nano-seconds to milli-seconds. The linux mining timer still works for most machines.

Taek, can you elaborate on this statement?:
"There is a hard fork coming and you need to have upgraded before it happens. You will not lose coins as long as you avoid using a wallet that you already backed up."
Should users be deleting all old backups prior to 0.3.3.3? Not making this clear could have disastrous results. Many people here are used to being able to use their original wallet.dat backup indefinitely. It may be my inner dummy talking but that statement is extremely confusing.
Also, I agree with the others who have stated that better instructions (specifics that even a dummy can understand) need to be included in a readme with each release. For example, not once have I read that you need to backup your backup.wallet file. Many people will just backup the wallet.dat. And guess what? They will be absolutely pissed when they find out that it will not restore their wallet. Everyone should be backing up the entire wallet folder and this should be in huge bold letters somewhere in the official information.
I am not trying to rail on you, I am just trying to offer some constructive criticism.

Assuming you only copied your wallet folder from 3.3.2 then 3.3.2 should still be fully intact. If you open it (3.3.2) you should still see all of your coins as if 3.3.3 never happened. I can open my 3.3.2 now and still see my coins and addresses etc. The only thing that affects this is if, like I did, is I clicked on upgrade now" in 3.3.2. that complicated simply copying over the wallet folder. Also, I allowed 3.3.3 to fully update BEFORE I copied my wallet folder over. Have you tried opening 3.3.2 and seeing if your coins are still there? Hard to imagine they are totally gone from 3.3.2 unless it was a cut wallet rather than copy. I know you know what you are doing lol, and so do I but I have a experimented and gotten off the beaten path and had what seemed as coin vanishing. But eventually found out why it appeared that way, but they were still recoverable. Just trying to help.

So, was trying to understand what you did any different then I did. I know I did not do a " merge wallet" as some have. Who knows perhaps that's the culprit... ok.

Everyone please keep in mind this is still all Beta... brand new technology with no well defined do's and don'ts, because there isn't any yet. None of us paid a dime for this software, we are here because it is new and cutting edge and for the purpose of helping the development process along with guys like Taek, nemo and others. Ya it gets frustrating... but we raised our hands and said yes we will play with it and test it all out and see where it goes. ok, I have to remind myself of this as well sometimes Lets keep our eye on the ball and get to the goal line.
