Ummm.... correlation, please.

The reason that the hashrate is going up like it is and that difficulty is about to make its biggest jump ever is because of BFL units hitting the market.

I know that's what they're telling their forum members, but you've seen the pictures of hundreds of thousands of Avalon chips sitting in boxes, right? Millions of them have been made and it's unlikely they're all sitting in customs.

Additionally, Bitfury chips have also started shipping.

Some of the network growth is BFL.  But claiming that it's ALL BFL is completely wishful thinking on the part of BFL users.

Yea, BFL users must be living under a rock if they believe the diff increase is primarily due to BFL.  Sure they take part but give me a break.   Look around, there are other ASIC companies releasing chips and units at a much higher rate than the public BFL information.   Sure, BFL could be mining the crap out of the network but that is not due to the ones they have shipped.

Care to provide a link to anyone shipping, besides BFL?

If you're searching these lines for a point, you've probably missed it.  There was never anything there in the first place.

Care to provide some kinda proof and numbers that ALL the unknown has rate is BFL?

Oh that's right you don't provide solid numbers you just make comments that imply you have shipped all that hash rate.

I never said it was all from BFL, but the vast majority is and will continue to be for awhile yet.  You are deluding yourself if you think otherwise, heh.

There's no need to "prove it."  It doesn't matter what you believe.  Reality doesn't care about you, or haven't you figured that out yet?  When you are an adult, you'll realize the real world doesn't care about you and neither do I.

quote BFL forum

"Reposting Fet-Up's refund instructions. Might as well make a little more work for the deleters.

Perhaps a good idea is for everyone to make it their sig. You may not want a refund yourself, but any reasonable person should be in favor of them for those who do, and opposed to deleting posts that explain how.

How I got my Butterfly Labs Refund, well after the 45 day PayPal limit.

(This post will be removed when noticed by BFL, as they want to ensure that people don't know their legal rights: That alone makes them look pretty shady. I'm speaking from experience, as they modified my last post a week ago to simply say "Hello", and turned another posters comment about my post to "Post this in another forum") - Shady!"

Butterfly Labs shipped the Jalapeno 10 months after first orders. They're still backlogged 7 months. If you're thinking of buying a BFL Monarch, think again.

I used to have hard time trying to understand BFLs situation, but every post from Josh makes it a little bit easier. If a company is led by an incompetent asshole, it's no wonder they can't even produce shit.

Lol, if you guys have ever seen the video intro to the butterflylabs warehouse and office you'll shelves and racks of the 500gh/s and the 50gh/s models. My point is that if they really want to made money they would link all they machinery(if they really exist and mine that fast) together to dominate the bitcoin network. Note: the above is just my opinion, if you disagree, then disagree......

Ye, I've also thought that why sell devices (except ofcourse support bitcoin). When you are able to make huge profit by just running all your devices in huge server room...

There are some pretty big up front costs involved. It's not like you scrape up pocket change and have custom chips made up. So they could either have gone the route they went (develop chips and sell devices to end users) or go the ASICminer route, raise capital from a small group of investors, develop those same chips and hold your hashing power tight to your chest.

I'm glad that BFL took the route they took. Otherwise we'd have a completely different looking ecosystem, twin towers of AM and BFL, with the rest of the world trying to keep up using GPUs. Well, we'd have all of 1500 Avalon machines to fight over, or be afforded such great deals as friedcats 2BTC 330 MH device. Which, even after its latest price it, is still twice as much per hash as butterfly's offerings. Yes, you can get it sooner. But every day BFL wittles away at that.

the 330mh device is like .39 now btc and you know that even 2btc buyers were at least getting a product.

Where are the jalepenos?

Yeah. And at .39 for 330 MH, it comes in twice as expensive as Bfl's. I got a jalapeño. Sold it immediately because eBay was posting some amazing prices for them. Lots if others do the same, though the going prices are falling because there's more and more coming online. IMO people who bought those at 2btc proved PT Barnum right.

They seem slow in coming out, but we have zero clue how many orders they got. It could be 10's of thousands going by the range of order numbers people have posted. Though that number contains a lot of orders that people stepped through the system and then Didn't pay for, but it also contaibs lots if orders for more than one product, so its still a huge number likely. Even 10k orders of a single product each is going to take a while to fulfill in house. Not to mention assembling, etc.
