But he gave everything he can and Tsitsipas was almost on the brink after the 3rd, but he was able to gather himself in the last 2 and win the game.
still, it is a promising match for Murray, and he obviously wants to get back, despite all the issues that he has on the other side, it is a question mark on all this younger generations, since even the old and injured Murray is good enough to get Tsitsipas (one of the best at the moment) shivers, where is tennis going? it is not that Murray was from the other world when he was at his best, and he will probably end up within top10 with artificial hip, not a good sign for tennis future

Kyrgios got hammered today by Bautista. Straight sets, no chance at all for a comeback.
I'd always pick Bautista in a match like this, they have such opposing playstyles and although he's way more talented, Kyrgios does not have the patience needed for players like Bautista. He will bore him all day, return the shots he needs to and play like a boring robot, making Kyrgios miss way more shots than usual.
Bottom line - I really don't like Kyrgios so I'm glad he's out.

Any tips for today boys? I've just done a probably-dumb bet against Nishikori -- not that I hope players are always injured, hate to hope that for an athlete, but he has had his off days and thinking this could be it. Trying to catch something live if I have time -- like Tsitsi when he was a set down against Murray yesterday was even 4/1 IIRC but the games today are too late for me to do anything proper.

Similar to what some teachers used to say about me in school, "has potential if only he would apply himself." Nick is seriously talented but is frustrating to watch, if he thinks a game is a lost cause he wont chase it. He must be a sponsors nightmare too, while he does draw attention he really does his own thing. Any tips for today boys? Well my normal strategy is to bet on the favourite but I see a match today which might change that strategy: Khachanov 1.46 v 2.75 Harris That should be a close match and I think Harris has a right chance to beat Khachanov.

Feeling sorry for Murray, his level of play yesterday would have been enough for win against 95% of players in the tournament. Just shows how much harder it is to get back once you lose your ranking and seed status.
just say that the way he played is not enough to beat the version of Tsitsipas. If he had a draw like in the lower rank, perhaps he can advanced next and see how it goes. But he gave everything he can and Tsitsipas was almost on the brink after the 3rd, but he was able to gather himself in the last 2 and win the game.
Murray certainly has the talent to beat Tsitsipas, and for a couple of sets he had the physical ability, too. But although he can still play almost at his best for a while, he can no longer do it over the full course of a 5 set match. I think Tsitsipas knew that the longer the match went on, the more likely it was he'd find a way back in... which is what happened. Even if Murray had won, he'd not have been able to sustain that level physically for many more matches. Even if he played people outside the top 50 every round, after a few matches in quick succession he'd no longer have the physical strength to get through to the later rounds. But still, this match was a reminder of just how talented Murray is... if not for his career coinciding with the big three, he'd have won a lot more slams.

And Harris beat Kachanov, good call. I forgot that I have a bet on Schartzman vs Berankis @1.94 to cover -6.5 handicap and it's a win. Lots of good and close match again that can go either way, just a matter on how you analyze the game. Even the Tsitsipas vs Murray was unpredictable as well. Djokovic -10.5 @2.00 vs Rune, that seems to be very attractive.

Yes thats something to drop a set so early on in the tournament for Djokovic. I dont fancy any matches in todays mens side other than Felix AA and I have a parlay on with Medvedev, Rublev, Osaka and Krejcikova. I also have a good few bets on Jabeur, Muguruza, Azarenka, Sabalenka and Kerber on the womens side.

Yeah, just like you in today's match the list doesn't really interest me to bet on, only bet in multibet on low odd such Medvedev, Ruble and ML on K. Anderson vs D. Schwartzman, Schwartzman win, In women's, same as men's multibet on low odds to Sabalenka, Halep, Barty and Svitolina. De Minaur is out, which is surprise for me, expected more from him
I think DeMinaur will win the match when He can win the third set, and I checked their H2H Fritz has never won against him, confidently chose ML on DeMinaur but in the 4th set Fritz ended it and He won.

Yes, losing a set against Rune, it's very uncanny for Djokovic, but enough to cover that good spread at -10.5. Maybe just one slip of. the concentration, nevertheless, he bounce back and demolished Rune in the next 2 yes. That's what separates Djokovic from the rest, he always believes that he can win even though he lose that one precious set.

And he face Fritz, who sometimes pull some upsets early and then exit on the next round, I guess Alex is just unlucky to face him in the first round. Bautista-Agut vs Ruusuvuori next, this will be interesting, as Ruusuvuori was the champion last tournament Winston-Salem. I'm expecting a five set match here and over bet should be good.

Similar to what some teachers used to say about me in school, "has potential if only he would apply himself." Nick is seriously talented but is frustrating to watch, if he thinks a game is a lost cause he wont chase it. He must be a sponsors nightmare too, while he does draw attention he really does his own thing.
That's the sad part of Kyrgrios. He has more talent than a lot of other players but most of the time, he doesn't really care and is mentally not stable. I still like to watch matches of him as it is entertaining .

Regarding Tsitsipas though, what do you guys think of him talking a bath room break for about 10 minutes? Specially his game against Murray, Andy said he lost respect for him because of that. And there are speculations that he is getting some coaching from his father through phone when he had a long bath room break?

If it was just Murray complaining, I'd write it off as him just being frustrated... but some other players have come out to back up Murray on this. Notably Zverev, but also Raonic. I don't know. Nothing can be proven, and I think a US player has come out in support of him, but it does seem a little suspicious. Zverev had his own run-in with Tsitsipas involving his lengthy comfort breaks in Cincinnati, and he stands by his allegations at the time that the Greek was getting coaching whilst off court. “He’s gone for 10-plus minutes. His dad is texting on the phone. He comes out, and all of a sudden his tactic completely changed. “It’s not just me but everybody saw it. The whole game plan changes,” he said. “I’m like either it’s a very magical place he goes to or there is communication there.” https://www.tennis365.com/atp-tour/alexander-zverev-reopens-stefanos-tsitsipas-spat-following-us-open-controversy/“It's happening every match. It's not normal,” said Zverev, who beat American Sam Querrey 6-4, 7-5, 6-2 to begin his U.S. Open. “It happened to me in the French Open, to Novak (Djokovic) in the finals at the French Open. You know, I think in Hamburg against (Filip) Krajinovic he was complaining, against me in Cincinnati was ridiculous, and now here again. I think players are catching up on that. https://eu.usatoday.com/story/sports/tennis/2021/08/31/us-open-stefanos-tsitsipas-bathroom-breaks-questioned-players/5669946001/“Andy is right!” Milos Raonic, a Canadian who is missing the U.S. Open with a right leg injury, posted to Twitter on Monday night. https://www.nytimes.com/2021/08/31/sports/tennis/us-open-stefanos-tsitsipas-bathroom-andy-murray.html

cannot say that I like it, but as long as it is aligned with rules, it is ok if he can have a phone, then it is allowed to use it? not sure about rules, but yeah, Djokovic is using that tactics very often, taking a break (usually medical) when things go down, and although it is maybe not "ideal fair play", it is aligned with rules you can love it or hate it, but cannot forbid that behaviour

No, he's not. You're not allowed to use your phone to receive coaching at a Grand Slam. Amusingly the most recent article I've found is Tsitsipas saying it should be allowed... Stefanos Tsitsipas calls for coaching to be allowed during matches Tsitsipas, speaking in Toronto where he is the third seed for the Masters 1000 hardcourt event, feels there needs to be a way to allow communication between coaches and players that is not overly intrusive to the flow of a match. https://indianexpress.com/article/sports/tennis/stefanos-tsitsipas-calls-for-coaching-to-be-allowed-during-matches-7445148/Djokovic is using that tactics very often, taking a break (usually medical) when things go down, and although it is maybe not "ideal fair play", it is aligned with rules
Yes, Djokovic is notorious for that. It drives me crazy to see him bend the rules like that in big matches, again and again. Whenever he is in trouble, there is a sudden dramatic "injury"... which then miraculously recovers instantly as soon as he wants to resume play. It is understandable when bad players do this, but immensely frustrating when you see players of the calibre of Djokovic (and to a lesser extent Tsitsipas) do it.

Regarding Tsitsipas though, what do you guys think of him talking a bath room break for about 10 minutes? Specially his game against Murray, Andy said he lost respect for him because of that. And there are speculations that he is getting some coaching from his father through phone when he had a long bath room break?
cannot say that I like it, but as long as it is aligned with rules, it is ok if he can have a phone, then it is allowed to use it? not sure about rules, but yeah, Djokovic is using that tactics very often, taking a break (usually medical) when things go down, and although it is maybe not "ideal fair play", it is aligned with rules you can love it or hate it, but cannot forbid that behaviour Phones are not allowed, but if he has a bath room break that took so long, so we can't see what he is doing there? Maybe he was given signals or instructions or not. But it's a big momentum breaker, specially if his opponent is on the rally, as in his match against Murray. And he did it again vs Adrian Mannarino and the crowd are not pleased by it.

Tsitsipas is using all the tricks in the manual to win a match but he is not gaining any popularity with this (on the contrary). They should make some official rules that a bath room break can only take 3-5 minutes or something like that to avoid situations like this.
