Some nice clay games with good odds today and I believe that all bellow matches have clear value and odds on favorites should be lower. But probably bookies know more than me and final results will go against my bets
Martin Andrej to win against Caruso @1.8, Caruso is totally out of form and if this was played anywhere but Umag I would go with high stakes. Umag is a bit special tournament where players often go to have good fun and not so much to play serious tennis so be careful.

So the US Open Grand Slam is over a month away, I cannot see any tournaments
where the big names are playing, are the olympics the main focus of many now or
are there other tournaments which will be used as lead ins to the US GS?

There is this tournament Swiss Open, but no big names and this is clay so I doubt that is in preparation for US Open.

Shapovalov is rank number 1 in it and he will have a match today in the round of 16.

There could be other tournaments arounds or maybe some high rank players are just taking a breather.

But I have one bet voided, Feliciano Lopez vs Huesler, I have Lopez +0.5 and he was leading the 3rd set 6-5, unfortunately, Huesler retired. Possible that I can also win that match if the score ended up 7-5 in favor of Lopez. Looking for a Delbonis and Dere parlay later.

I put a small bet on this match, under 20.5. I think Djere can win this one with scores of 6-4, 6-4.

He is leading the first set, have an early break, 2-1 now he is serving. I do hope though that he can hold serve here, as Bergs is coming back strong.

I totally missed my picks today, good thing I did not post them in time to give wrong ideas to you guys I had Bergs +3.5, and that is after I switched from Bergs to take a set to more "secure" option. Of course he won a set and did not cover the spread.

Than I had Delbonis -3.5 and he lost first set 6:0 and killed my bet, than I tried Delbonis to win and at least that one went well since I cashed out in time before he lost his match. This is very big surprise for me, I was sure he is going trough.

Ah well, total bust today but yesterday I had a great day so still in the green.

I think that the problem with a rank players facing an unknown or relatively new players in the tournament as they don't have any pressure, they just want to play out and win.

Delbonis and Bautista-Agut and I would say Carreno-Busta are three of the hottest players right now. But in any given night they still could be upset even in clay court.

Casper Ruud is playing early vs Novak, hopefully as the 3rd seed in this tournament, we won't see any upset.

It looks like the Novak that TravelMug mentioned is not Novak Djokovic but Denis Novak from Austria, and Djokovic is not playing in this tournament because he is already in Japan to compete in the Olympics.

I lost in three match bets yesterday, two results that were quite surprising were Delbonis vs Gaston and Rinderknech vs B. Agut, can't believe Delbonis can lose to his opponent as well as Agut who even immediately lost in two sets.

Shocking today from Shapovalov that lost to Kopriva who isnt even in the top 200. What a big lost from a top 10 player. If he wants to do big things he cannot lose matches to players that arent in top 200. This players arent even close to the Big 3 in any segment of the game

And if you have bet on the top seeds, I'm sure you will be pretty much disappointed to their performance too.

It seems though that this tournament is harder to predict specially enter the last 8 going into the semi-finals.

Djokovic is by far the biggest candidate to win the gold medal, it would be an upset if he doesn't win. The field is quite weak with all the big names missing so I doubt it will be interesting to watch tennis during this Olympics...

I have a string of losses also in this tournament with Shapovalov loosing his match
yesterday. There are a lot of players, the vast majority of them while being very good and
vary capable of winning more are just not able to put wins together consistently like Federer,
Nadal and Djokovic.

Is it just that there are a lot of players who are at the same level and more and more new players
are able to come up to that level?
