There are two atp 250 tournaments taking place simultaneously, the ATP Metz and the Astana Open. At ATP Metz Andy Murray will play against U. Humbert, even though he lost to tsitsipas at the US Open but his performance is quite good, maybe in this tournament he can achieve another achievement, I feel he is not over yet.
The ATP Metz is interesting, Murray will have a good few tough matches to
navigate. I see Sonego is playing Fucsovics today and there are a lot of
big names playing.
His next matcu against Humbert will be interesting for sure, Maybe he can win
this one but I think it will be a tough battle nonetheless.

Andy Murray has still got some zest left in him. He has fallen down to 116 in ranking after his surgery. But I think he is quite fit now and ready to take another tournament in his bag. He has won 3 grand slams and he should do pretty good in this one. I am a huge fan of this guy from the beginning. My wishes are with him.

I am also a fan of Murray and it's nice that he keeps on going and going, but I doubt he will ever win a tournament again. He can complete at a high level for 3-4 matches and that's about it; much more his body can't handle anymore.

I have to disagree on that, he can't win a big tournament probably, but he can win some small ones, his performance was very impressive against Tsitsipas, 5 sets and he lost the last 6-4, it is not bad at all against a player on the top 5, even Murray said it himself that he can still compete with top players and he also said that he doesn't understand why a lot of people in social media say that he is done competitively.

After going through his knee surgery the legend Roger Federer said that he will try to return to the court in 2022. Great news for Federer fans like me. If he can regain his fitness, I have a strong feeling that he still has got some of his best plays to be played. Though he has already won every possible title, but why not aim for some more? Very eager to see him in the court again.

^ Well, he is one of the best players of all time no cap on that be do be honest performing at the highest level after a knee surgery like that, and being consistent at his age is a bit tough I'm guessing. It's not impossible though, but with players like Djokovic, Medvedev, Zverev being in very good form, he is unlikely to win more in my opinion. But it's always fun to watch these legends play. Hopefully he does, but Federer is in 40's already, his body is giving up so I doubt that he can win GS next year. If he does then it will be the comeback of the year. Just look at Nadal right now, he is much younger but years of wear and tear are putting a lot of pressures in their body.

Last year, Federer always make a comeback, he has a long time to recover, but he wasn't the same anymore. He can still win games, but he over extend himself and force his body to work more, hence another injury.

Totally agree, while he might be fit he lacks the same level of speed and flexibility
that the top players have. He will certainly win matches but progressing to the latter
stages not to mention winning a major tournament is beyond his current capabilities.
He has done remarkably well to even compete ate the level he does after major surgery.

Pick up some good win on the Metz Open:

Usually I don't like parlays, but this is too attractive to pass. Sonego by ML is very good odds as well, but I pick the handicap @1.85. The ML is around 2.x if I'm not mistaken, in either case it's already a win so that's good enough for me.

Muller vs Khachanov still on-going, 1-1, going into the final 3rd set. Hoping Khachanov can still cover the -4.5 for me.

Yep. I think the 3-4 matches part is key. The reason he won't be likely to progress to the latter parts of a tournament is not so much that he can't compete against the best, it's more the toll it takes on his body having a succession of long matches in a short space of time. For example, to win a men's slam you need to win seven 5-set matches in a fortnight. Murray might be able to beat a top 10 player in a one-off game, but put him in a situation where he has to win 7x3=21 sets in two weeks, and it wouldn't be possible, even if every opponent was ranked outside the top 50.

Absolutely, I never questioned his ability, after all he is a former #1 but his fitness
regarding stamina and being pain free or being able to maintain his manouvreability
due to his double hip operation.

Anyway, he won today against Humbert after losing the 1st set. The last set though
was a little more difficult eventhough he won 6 - 2. His service games were lasting longer
so I would say that if it was a 5 set match the 4th set would have been too much . . .
possibly

So, good win for him today.

Muller vs Khachanov still on-going, 1-1, going into the final 3rd set. Hoping Khachanov can still cover the -4.5 for me.

You also won this bet s Khachanov won the 3rd set 6-3.

Anyone bet on Andy Murray against Umbert? If you did, it is also a good win as he is the underdog on the match. I didn't see the game, but he it seems he won the last 2 sets very easily.

Hopefully with all the discussions around him, he can progress in this match and see how far he can reach, who knows, maybe he can go to QF or even SF.

Yeah, so he is one step already, after winning today, Murray will be facing Pospisil in the round of 16. So let's hope to see another good performance from him and win. It might be difficult as he progresses because of the tougher opponents. But this tournament is good to measure himself against the latter part of the tennis rankings. Hubert Hurkacz is the top seed followed by Carreno-Busta.

Yes this is the case, its obvious though that as Murray progresses the matches
will be tougher, his talent will carry him, he played some magic shots yesterday,
I said on a few occasions "oh yea, he still has it".

I have Carreno Busta and Sonego who is 5th seed against Rune.

Hard to pick as there are matches that are really close in this tournament. Odds are not that huge and there are a lot of familiar names. So maybe this tournament are good for us bettors again and to start making money.
Just have one bet on Sonego vs Fucsovics match, didn't think Sonego could win the match in straight sets so my bets on over to lose.
Have only two bets on today's match both on over, Murray and Sonego match.

maybe its a sign that the big 3 era could be coming to an end.
I'm sure less than 5 years we will not see them compete again in tennis world

^^ Just to test the mettle on this tournament, I parlay Gojowczyk, Peter ML + Schnur, Brayden (+3.5), so let's see how it goes.

Good win by Murray, I never thought that he will win against Humbert here, so he perform very well and above expectations, should have put a even a small bet on him.

Ymer vs Busta - very interesting match, I will pass on this match, not that easy to analyse this. As I have said, will test first and see how my bet goes.

^ Well, the big 3 eras had to eventually come to an end at a point. And I'm guessing the time is now. They are aging and young players are stepping up. Medvedev is in really good form, Djokovic has lost to Zverev already in the Olympics Semi-Final 1-6, 6-3 6-1. And him returning after quite a while will affect his gameplay. We have already seen the uprise of young players in women’s tennis with having Leylah Fernandez and Raducanu playing the most recent finals, so why not expect the same for male tennis? So yes, we are going through a transitional period where the senior players and nearing their end which is a very sad phase, to be honest.

Yahh big 3 era is not over yet. Djokovic has still some juice left in him. He almost won all the major tournaments this year only to be defeated by Medvedev very recently. Djokovic is looking very fit and also is in very good form. Federer also could be returning in the following year, so maybe we still have some years left to enjoy the Djokovic-Federer-Nadal show. Maybe Nadal is almost at the end of his best times, but Djokovic and Federer still will do good, especially Djokovic. Maybe we’ll see him win some more Grand Slams in the coming years and I’m very delighted to see the young blood doing good recently.

In respective of what the social media may think about him I think it is high time he needs to work more on his self to be able to compete with too players so we'll gonna see an impressive opportunity for him to sweep the carpet. Change is constant which we might need to have a second thought. Even he could only win small tournaments I think that's great because better results are ahead.
