a) They do it coordinated (announce sales and condition 2-3 days in advance) b) They sell relatively cheap (lower than the potential maximum market price e.g. between 3-5k) c) They sell only to existing customers in limited amount (maybe 1 unit per previous unit bought)
They already announced to be ready, so the next thing we will hear is "X number available for sale". B is very likely C isn't likely, they'd incite a small riot. unless they want to garnish their rep more.

Also possible - nevertheless, very exiting - bring your liquitity in position for all scenarios

Just wanted to quickly chime in about my experience with Kncminer.
Last week I received my bonus units, after a few initial teething problems (mostly caused by me being thick) I got everything up and running, every unit exceeded my expectations apart from one which seemed to have a fault and eventually went pop on Thursday.

Great service! Thanks KNCminer

Prepare yourself for the next major spike in difficulty...
when hashfast will be start to shipping the miners?
I think you are mistaken...Hashfast has NOT assembled more than 1 complete miner. They simply unboxed the units, mounted some radiators, and put them back on pallets. Basically, stuff that they COULD have done in october... My guess is that hashfast booked some production time with Ciara, were not ready with actual boards, and wanted to do something "productive" with the time.

They probably cashed out BTC to pay it. Win-win, esp. when valuation bounces back.

Those of us that paid with BTC are smiling with huge smiles... I paid something like 9.5 BTC for my neptune.. which effectively means that I sold my BTC at the peak. The price going down is great news. Less incentive for other people to buy mining gear and start mining, we can get a refund (in USD) whenever we want, and our hurdle rate in BTC terms is very low. What's not to love?

You lack of horizon. Every one that starts mining as a small miner, but do have vision ends up higher at the ladder. It doesn't matter when you begin to start mine. Although if you start mining in 2009 you have a headstart. Even when you start mining now with almost nothing, you will end up higher 2 years later. Bitcoin start to get tracking. It's just the beginning.

I see the exchange rate about $650 more than the quoted "if" BTC price. It won't go to $40. I'd be surprised if it goes bellow $500 and stay there for more than a few days.
Anyone knows if the Oct controller board is compatible with Nov type ASIC boards? I could have an extra controller board combining my 2 Saturns into a Jup, and I'm thinking of buying 4 Nov type "upgrade" boards if KNC will make them available for purchase.

A show of hands, please? Does anyone here know someone who's overclocking their machine? I know none of you folks, myself included, would ever void the warranty on such a valuable machine, but OC'ing appears to offer great promise for October machines and machines with die-0 issues. One friend on mine has a October Jupiter with two die 0 boards that was pushing 495Ghs, but it skyrocketed to over 560Ghs when she edited the cgminer.sh file to look like this: if [ $p -eq 2 ] then cmd=$(printf "0x86,0x%02X,0x02,0x11" $c) if [ $c -eq 1 ] then cmd=$(printf "0x86,0x%02X,0x03,0xE2" $c) fi Is my friend's experience unique? Both bad die-0 boards are still silent, yet her hashrate is as high as my 'good' jupiter with no bad dies. Her wattage-per-die is right at 40W, so this is pushing the limits of the specifications of the VRMs, but we added extra cooling fans inside her machine to keep the temps down low to compensate. No hiccups yet!

Hi lemonte, are you referring to bonus units for selling units as a re-seller? how do you know when buyers through your re-seller ID got their units and then how do you know when you get yours? Does KNC send you some confirmation that this is happening? Can you see this in the re-seller portal? Thanks merv77

Once you sell 10 of one, you get one for yourself.

Or you just wait for your bonus unit like a surprise waiting to be delivered? Did KNC contact you and tell you they are sending you the bonus unit? I'm excited in getting my bonus Thanks for the quick reply Lemonte

I too can't see the price currently going below $500 and staying there for long - http://bitcoincharts.com/charts/mtgoxUSD#rg360ztgSza1gEMAzm1g120zm2g25zv - unless there's multiple bad news events coming over the next few weeks and months.
