Orama peobably got waterboarded in koolaid after he spilled the beans on their "progress".  That was the last bit of honesty we'll ever see from them.
It was his field report that made KNC credible and started the chain of events that lead to them taking multi-million dollars of pre-orders.

If his "preliminary design stages" post was the start of the end for KNC, then it's only fitting he was the one (probably unwittingly) to start that particular chain of events too.

Avenger, I'm not disputing what you write about KnCminer, I'm neither pessimistic or optimistic about Bitcoin mining as a whole anymore, I would like some clarity before I make any decisions, however please can you do me a favour and give the personal attacks on O'rama a rest, it's pretty tiresome reading the personal attacks on him from you, and others.
He's in charge of communication, not the companies strategy and I'm very doubtful he has had any input into the direction the company is taking so I think it's unfair to put any blame on him.

Yes, I know he said that upgrade modules would be available, but I'm 100% certain that he is not to blame for them not being released and that at that point in time he was giving out information that was correct, so I think it is unfair to personally attack him.

He is not responsible for the data centre, nor "Plan B" either.

Further to this, people are really hypocritical when they curse his name in one sentence and then moan about no updates from him. If you were in his shoes would you want to come here and be bombarded with constant name calling, speculation and frankly mental conspiracy theories? I know I wouldn't!

I too am growing anxious about the lack of updates, not just from Kncminer but from various different companies, MtGox, Trezor, but I don't resort to name calling and trolling. When there is news I am sure we will be updated and O'rama will be back.

As for the conspiracy about the television piece, I think you're being ridiculous. Have you looked on their Twitter account lately? They've shared various news stories about their data centre and been pretty transparent.

Sorry if i sound really grumpy in here guys, but I don't like to see someone who's been really helpful before be publicly attacked for issues likely outside of his control and I'm sick of reading really retarded conspiracy theories that sound like they've been written by a child.

If you want answers to questions, aside from the obvious "When will the Neptune be shipping" then just email them, or even better pick up a telephone and call them. I've never had an issue speaking to anyone in their offices, I've always found all members of staff really helpful.

Should have reiterated, anxious about the lack of updates regarding Neptune, all my other questions have been answered very satisfactorily, which I can't say the same about for other Bitcoin related companies.

Come on Avenger, I know it's late, but is that the best you can do? You've written some good material over the last few weeks, but this week the quality has really dropped, this especially is scraping the barrel.

I'm not a total hater on KNC but they stop being the honest citizen a long time ago...   they still saying they may sell modules.. lol  how long will they keep that false hope alive?  Until they are worthless as USBees?

Refunded.  Wire charges amount to $18.  So, Thursday refunds don't arrive on Tuesday but Wednesdays.

Congratulations on getting your refund.

How did you go about contacting them for a refund? I've emailed them several days ago and received no response. My email asked what information they specifically need to process a refund, giving my order numbers in advance. Previously I'd receive a response within a day or two, but not now.

I'm not really keen on the idea of spending hours dialing their phone number and spending up to hundreds of dollars in phone expense and the time lost - time is money after all.

Thanks in advance.
Contact: Customer Service <customerservice@kncminer.com>

Can't seem to locate the email describing what is needed.  Obviously the order number to be refunded, name and address of the bank, the bank routing number, the name of the person holding the account, the account number and the bank's SWIFT code (for US banks).

Feeling good about the refund but I know as soon as guys start getting their Neptunes I'll be kicking myself.

Sorry, but KNC do not provide actual answers. All they will tell you is pre-scripted bunch of words, that do not carry any actual information.
Example: if I were to send an email or call them and ask "What date is to be considered late for the Neptune" I will not receive an actual answer, that is helpful.
I am even doubtful that I will receive a positive answer if I were to ask: Am I guaranteed to receive a physical miner and not some hashing power somewhere?
Communication is always customer>KNC and not the other way around.

But guess what: bitcoinultra.co.uk
3TH/s for $12K in April most probably*

Thank you for the information. I'll send another email, this time to the address you provided.

Still haven't decided to refund the orders. I'm waiting for further details on shipping dates to get a better idea on expected difficulty at that time and what performance can be expected from design improvements.

I'll have to say I do not like "plan B" if it were to result in either or both of the following: getting 3TH/s without performance improvements from the new design and/or not getting physical delivery of equipment for which I've already paid.

I didn't place the orders for a "plan B", I placed the orders for physical hardware delivered, and in a timely manner.

With so many refunds and with sales low i expect KnC to just double the Neptunes orders! It won't affect them so much considering their huge ass datacenter. Cointerra did it, so why not be number 1 again KnC?!

Got my US dollar $13,200.20 Neptune refunded today, 2014-02-19.  I originally initialed my refund request on 2014-02-10.  I asked for US dollar refund as I paid via bank wire and did not Know at the time that bitcoin BTC refund was available.  The wire amount I received is $18.00 less (i guess bank fee?).  It took a total of 9 days from initiation to actually have the money hit my bank account.  I provide the following (US) bank information when requesting refund:

My Name: XXX XXX
Bank name: XXX Bank,N.A.
Bank Account #: XXXXXXXXX
Bank address: XXX XXX Street, New York, NY 10013, USA
Citibank SWIFT Code: CITI US 33
Bank Routing #: XXXXXXXXX

Still have a CA Neptune that I paid about 11 BTC.  I will wait and see on this one.  As to the US dollar refund, I will buy more BTC if it goes below $500.00

I cancelled my order, KnC had me waiting 9 business days for my BTC but was always friendly and responsive.

They would need to really outdo themselves on the Neptune for it to ROI. And I have the feeling that delivering hardware to miners is not really KnC's business plan any longer.

Side note: Look what I have bought:

Pretty precisely 4TH, and having pre-ordered the Neptune at peak BTC prices the refund almost totally covers it.
