Yeah I bought a titan a while back and I am regretting it. I would 100% take a refund if it was possible. I did some searching but mostly the good news about their previous product was shining through at the time plus obviously I was stupid and didn't look hard enough.

me too...Titan upgrade got it 2 weeks before KNC seemed to go off the rails and before IRS guidelines....so my timing was .what shall I
say....less then inspired?

we can start a thread/club

I got myself in a (hopefully unique and not apply to you guys in USA or outside USA) situation with the bank so I am now "legit" in USA as a miner
subject to 25% tax on miner profits (better then IRS on my a*s) whew!

so I can 'depreciate' equipment costs from gross income mining over next 5 years under current guidelines

it still sucks but it is something I can get back if the Titan craps out somehwhat..maybe 40% back to equipment costs before Titan goes defuncto

but then again all of us are in that boat who have 'equipment' the 'BTC has to fly" for 4 or 5 years just to recoup equip/elec on this 'hobby'

live an learn

is there a thread that explains the irs and tax codes. do we only report profit or do we have to clame every btc turned into dollar... do pools pay the tax so mining is free and clear? but probably the most important  question is do banks or exchanges file report to irs?

Emailed KNC for a refund for the remaining 2 neptunes i still had on order (initially had 5 in total), fed up with their useless support and total customer neglect.

Not gonna support a company who takes customer preorder money to build a datacenter which in turn skyrockets the difficulty, in total contradiction to their own statements regarding mining for their own interests.

Sincerely hope everyone with miners on preorder receives working units and on time!

I didn't see this posted in the past few pages, apologies if I missed it

http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/260in3/kncminercom_puts_butterfly_labs_bad_reputation_to/

Quote
Here is a short list of things the people at KnCMiners have got away with the last couple of months.
-KnCMiners has sent out old dirty used components as "New Products" and refused Refunds as frustrated customers find themselves in limbo.
Evidence:
*case
-KnCMiner sending out hardware not even correctly essambled, using rubber bands to hold compents together. To top stuff off, they are blaming the carreir, stating that if they had not been so wreckless if handling, that the rubber band holding the head sinks and other components to the board, would have been good enough
Evidence:
*case 1
*case 2
*case 3
*case 4
*case 5
*case 6
*case 7
-KnCMiner.com crooks are sending out units that are not even functional then refusing any refunds
Evidence:
*case 1
-KnCMiners.com tried to quietly change their ToS to avoid refunds, then calimed these were always the terms and conditions
Evidence:
*case 1
*case 2
-KnCMiners has been heavily censoring topics people requesting information about legals rights, attempts at trying to organize a civil action, threatening members that their "account is in risk of being being jeopardizes/lost" if they post anything negative.
-KnCMinesr customers trying to connect with other members outside of the strictly censored forums for the sake of working together to find solutions to what KnCMiner has done to them, have had their accounts completely banned.
-KnCMiner using their position in a foreign country for most all their customers as a buffer to get away with what ever conduct they wish to engage in.
Please Note there are many more cases! These are just a few

They were down for about 4 hours - I assume you received their during/post outage emails.

nice time to get a refund, SP10 price now down to $2795. Shipping from stock. feel free to feed a starving Scotsman and click the link in my sig.

 Cool Tongue

When will SP get with the times? Hashratio is as low as $1/gh.

yeah, what an awful rate for a GEN1 product  Cheesy

/s

I think you misunderstand sarcasm. $2/gh is an awful rate no matter how you look at it. Bitmain is at $1.65/gh shipped. Bitfury is around $1.7/gh. And hashratio beating them all at $1/gh.

not interested, i'll pay for quality any day.

You mean KNC quality, like the destroyed units showing up on folks' doorsteps, the coolers bouncing around inside like shrapnel?

next month so it will be end of june Smiley

13k usd for 3th in july...
you can order 4s2 for half of that and earn a lot of btc before neptune will be shipped Smiley

hard to consume such 12k$ loss per neptune...
neptune will mine 800$ till unprofitable

http://btcinvest.net/en/bitcoin-mining-profit-calculator.php?diff=8853416309&dcosts=13000&diff_mincrease=20&blpbtc=25&dhsmhs=3000000&diff_mincreasedecrease=0.1&btcusd=463.72&dpowcon=2000&btcusd_mincrease=0&pcost=0.2&calcweeks=14&dleadtime=5&action=calc

yeah i know calclulator is wrong, such hashrate increase is impossible, but
the same shit you were stating 12 month ago while silently spending 2 btc for 330 mh/s Wink and 75 btc for 13gh/sec

I'm not disputing your statement, just simply stating that June will reveal it one way or another. You have no proof that they are getting their chips in August, and they have no proof that they are coming in June, so everyone will just have to wait Smiley

Yes, I would say that what I have, is proof that it will be august before they get their chips, however, it's my proof and you are not getting to see it  Tongue

seriously though ...because my source would get the sack and i'm not being held responsible for that. Information fed via me means it could be one of 300 employees who leaked this info - so my source is safe (well, until that employee resigns).

so..  if nothing else, making that PCB has given them something to do while they mine the crap out of the network huh?

I think most of these updates the asic companies and for that matter scrypt too give out  are usually fake anyway.

They only tell us what they want us to know.

Most of the added network hashrate can't even be accounted for.  Lol

Don't worry, I am not asking to see it, not trying to call you out. I would like to know however, is this 100% set in stone, as in your source has seen correspondence with Kncminer and they are aware that it will be August, or is your source just speculating?

No worries if you can't answer those questions and feel free to PM me if you'd like to keep it private.
