Sure, I will try to run the code, I am re-installing Raspbian on Pi now.
BTW, when doing the voltage adjustment, does it must turn clockwise?  Is there any youtube video showing this?

I have waited for about 5 mins, but nothing happened afterward, my 2pac stick still inactive and not detected. ><
I am now trying to turn the voltage adjustment again bit by bit and see if it can be solved.

If you bought from eyeboot, it's a green stick. Note that the board it's build on is green. The ones in Europe are made with a black board.

Have you tried adjusting the voltage a bit higher and replugging it?

Yes, i also tried to adjust the voltage as mentioned in page 2 but without any luck. I turned to 1/8 clockwise, unplug and wait 2 secs and plug again. I also tried 1/4 turn, unplg and wait 2 secs and plug again.  Nothing has changed, problem still remains. ><


Pls advise and help.

Consider plugging them one at a time into a different computer, if available, to see if they behave the same.

Hi, I just tried to run the problematic stick on Windows environment, and it shows error message "USB init, open device failed, err -3, you don't have privilege to access - BSC device 3:11"
But when I type the following code, it sees the device.

With two of them side by side, it appears one is officially different.   Give the voltage adjustment a try to wake it up, but yea, it may be time to reach out to eyeboot for an exchange.

Just wondering is there any possibility to re-install the "firmware" of the device? If so, pls advise how to do this?
or how do I un-install the driver of the stick and re-install driver again? (on Raspberry Pi3).  Pls advise, thanks.

Is it profitable? I bought one from Amazon and with default settings, about 10Gh/s I earned 0.00000716BTC the 1st day. So in about 5 years I will earn 0.01BTC (without calculating power cost) which is way too low.. If I did not do any mistake or misunderstood something it seems there is no point to use it.
Even if I increase frequency eg with 25Gh/s I will earn 0.01BTC in 2 years...
Please tell me if I am wrong.

With the current bitcoin difficulty, hashing at 25GH/s is not profitable. So yes, there is little point in using it. Your best option is to point your miner to solo.ckpool.org. It's like playing the lottery. You're unlikely to win, but if you hit a block, you get the full block reward.

Small USB stick miners, like this one, are more for getting started in the bitcoin mining game. They are mostly a learning tool, but also a way for you to join the community. That said, the miners do contribute to the distributed nature of the bitcoin network. Unless you are solo mining and find a block, which is not impossible, just highly improbable,  they will not return your "investment."

I've been hashing away at 200 MHz with 2 2pacs for several days.  I stopped everything, slightly upped the voltage on one that was producing occasional HW errors, and restarted cgminer.  Now cgminer cannot see the second chip on that stick.  cgminer now reads "COMPAC-1" instead of "COMPAC-2" and the hash rate reflects this.

I've restarted and reset everything I can, reduced the voltage, and isolated the stick but I cannot get cgminer to find both chips anymore.  Did I push it too hard?  My setup includes a usb fan, perhaps that wasn't enough?

After that I ask a friend to get the item in main post office. I'm very excited and test right away. Original cgminer work but some times get usb error. After that I see your thread and test vh's cgminer. It's work perfectly after 8 hours of use. Then usb stop working and get a lot of error. I'm using a Dell Inspiron 15 5000 series.

Keep an eye on the number/id to the left of the device and the WU value.

If the number is increasing or the WU is not equal to ~150/m, then it is not actually working well.
