With a population of 1.4 billion people, and the epicenter of the outbreak, they went back to "business as usual" the fastest of any other country, and clearly have no more fear of Covid-19, including second, third, forth waves, reinfections, etc. The majority there clearly do not care to wear masks in crowds anymore.

Why? Because they (and their govt) know the truth... that Covid-19 is not really that big of a threat.

The rest of the world gets to "be disallowed from all ordinary pleasures" and continue to be shut down, while the Chinese laugh at the rest of the world's naivety and ignorance while they party and have a fun, normal existence.

You have capital, you can lend it out on the blockchain that is able to employ smart contracts (be it at the core , in L2 or L3) and get interest.

Banks are less needed in defi world, hence no Cantillon effect and no pernicious brrr.

Poopooing defi will not be in bitcoin interest. Figuring out how to do it apart from essentially giving your coins to blockfi or Celsius and rely on their good graces might be important.

Governments have nothing to fear as taxing could be programmed in, if needed, not sure why they would be 'all over it'. They won't be, IMHO.
Why sell your btc when the time comes when you can use it more intelligently?

I despise the current defi fad, but I think Biodom does have a point. It's a matter of execution more than anything else. We're still far from an acceptable solution, but I support the idea and hope someone figures out a workable protocol.

In WO, in in my own P&S thread, and elsewhere, I have been shouting from the rooftops since March that people should stop panicking.  (Though there is something to panic about:  Impending extreme economic hardship, starvation, and unlimited tyranny...  I fear hunger more than I fear Covid!)  I saw that the self-destructive mass reaction was bad; so did many others, IIRC (?) including you.  If people don’t heed sound reason, I don’t see what the Chinese have to do with it—unless the Chinese somehow control other peoples’ governments, mainstream media, and masses of ordinary people who are blindly terrified into submission.

By the way, I managed to withdraw everything from Bitmex before going through the latest KYC/AML doorway. Anybody still keeping funds with them must complete identification before they can trade, deposit or withdraw.

Weird. Last time I heard anything from Edan Yago, he was telling us at Bitcoin 2013 San Jose Conference about a micronation he was in negotiations with a host nation to allow within their borders. OK, not really a micronation, but an Economic Autonomous Zone. As history hath shewn, it never really came to pass.

I missed on a lot of good content!  ... Also a few days ago or something like that there was some kind of study or counting that the seasonal Flu has dropped 300-400 times or more in some parts of the world.  

That is super logical. People are more aware of viruses and are taking care to keep distance and wear mask and wash hands and whatever. Flue will be totally unimportant in next few years until people will forget about covid-19 and start living old life back.
