It's been ages since I watched that film, but I remember clearly the bottom-line, which has nothing to do with Alex Jones, or any political party in the US.

You missed the point I was making in that the moral of the film was co-opted by anti-maskers. The film also has nothing to do with wearing a mask. Its being politicized in a way the filmmaker never intended, for the sake of making an edgy meme which just happens to represent a component of the ideology of a political platform in the U.S.

Of course I watched it. It was not my intention to promote any sort of propaganda (which I was not even aware of). Having said that, everything sparked from v8's warning sign posted a few pages back.

To me the stay home mantra is kind of similar to another form of consume, obey, conform.

I will translate it for the times:
Do smart working from home (stay home)
Keep moving the economy (consume and spend your money)
Keep social distancing (conform).

Isn't it sad?

So long as you don't actually believe that meme was a real scene from the movie, which is what I feared.

Perhaps we're just trying to globally combat a pandemic by encouraging proper hygiene until it has subsided? Or is that just way too looney tunes of a conspiracy?

Hi guys, I hope your bitcoin hangout helps me with one question.I am writing a guide for a event related to the bitcointalk community (the idea of ​​the annual Crypto Community Award),

Uh yeah....I'm the furthest thing from a bitcoin guru that you could possibly find, so I don't know how my name got thrown into the mix.  Even if you put my name in for a vote, it would be a waste of your keyboard strokes--so don't bother.

The rest of the idea sounds fine to me, except I'm not sure Theymos would put his seal of approval on such an award system.

I just gave an example ... since people abstract from those they know. As for your persona for this title .. It's not about the selection of nominees by one person, be it the OP or the moderator. I guess the user should be nominated by at least 3-5 people.

There will be several threads interconnected, for example (Threads for discussing and nominating nominees, a thread for voting and publishing results ... in a word, there will be a solid infrastructure for this event).

I think custom titles would be cool for those who deserve one. If you want me to be honest, I don’t think theymos will grant too many people titles (if any at all).

Seems to me that you should start a thread (or threads) on this topic in order to attempt to get feedback, and also to gauge how popular your topic is in order to stand alone and/or to get members to participate in the thread.  Furthermore, you can surely link such thread(s), once you create it (them) in threads like this, in order to inform members of the existence of such thread(s).

Seems to me that just the creation of various titles (even if temporary) might end up being controversial.. unless those titles were voted on with a broader swath and the participation of "somewhat established" forum members.. so maybe you would need either a poll within your topic or separate threads for different titles that would be considered (or nominated).  

I personally really cringe at anything that attempts to categorize crypto as if it were some kind of broader category and that bitcoin fits into such category as if it were an equal to the various shitcoins  - even though technically "crypto" is likely an accurate description, even though it still irritates me because frequently shitcoins are trying to suggest that they are some kind of equal to bitcoin - even though none of them would exist without king daddy either providing cover for them and/or actual open source hashing power security for the whole space..... that includes a variety of scams and deceptive projects - that largely in the long run to the extent that any of them might contribute value would be absorbed into bitcoin or end up running on bitcoin as a second, third or fourth layer.  There are quite a few forum members that are bothered in a variety of ways by describing crypto or the use of such categorization that involves bitcoin in it, when bitcoin seems to be a category in itself in terms of how to think about the space.. Many of us know the description: "there is bitcoin and there is 'shitcoins'.  "

Anyhow, point is that titles tend to be controversial, and likely you would need to have a pretty open process, and I doubt that theymos is even going to get involved in endorsing such titles unless you either get him to agree in advance or you have some kind of overwhelming participation of "somewhat established" forum members that cause theymos to want to endorse such system once you have already established it.

Even with a big surge in the fall say 10 million on top of the first million you would still be right.

the world was about 1/7 what it is now around 1.2 billion vs 8.4 billionaires or so.

So to equal the spanish flu death rates we would need to reach 140-350 million by may of next year.

Still as a person that most likely survived it Back in Jan of 2020 and having 7 relatives that survived  it. From Jan 2020 to March 2020 it is more then the standard flu.

The spanish flu in 1918-1919 the second wave had 7x to10x the numbers of the first wave.

I am personally rooting for 20 -25 million to die from it from now til feb 1 2021.
