The SP20 from SP-Tech beats the the S4 hands down in all departments with p2pool. I am in the process of clearing out all of my Bitmain miners due to their lack of support generally as well as for p2pool, not to mention their constant stream of broken firmware releases. SP-Techs prices have also just been reduced - go for it. Spondoolies are the new king I have learned with S4 so for me there is not problem, but yes, now the price of SP20 1GHs is below price of S4 1GHs, there is the reason I consider. I like PSU included in S4 this I see is SP20 disadvantage. What kind or type of PSU are You using with SP20? Is there same way to log into unit via ssh as with S4? As I look into documentation it is configurable thru outsite website only? ssh & web ui - same as S4 - but better. The firmware updates work too!

I don't know if anyone has built a p2pool for it... But the PoW stage ends Saturday... So not sure how worth it it is to do so at this point.

There are titancoin, joulecoin, terracoin p2pools, why not paycoin yet? Because of the length of the mining phase of the coin. The PoW stage (i.e. Mining) is only a week long and will be ending Saturday. There's simply no point to create the p2pool infrastructure and try to get nodes up and running for something that won't be around in 48 hours.

Wow, we're back down to 1.85 PH/s for the Global P2Pool rate... Haven't seen it below 2 PH/s in a long time. Overall Bitcoin hashrate seems to continue its downtrend as well...

Sounds like a great time for a "welcome back" to some of the smaller miners that may have been squeezed out when we were touching 5PHs

What does this mean?
> in download_shares: > Traceback (most recent call last): > Failure: p2pool.p2p.ShareReplyError: too long
Anyone have any thoughts on this? It's a pretty disconcerting error. I'm seeing it ALL the time on my local node. M

My S4s have the original Bitmain's settings with last firmware. Only address or address + 2048. In the last 8 blocks, I closed 2. The just closed block (today) has been done by one of my nodes S4 Same settings also for S2 and S3.

I have all my miners set to failover to my local p2pool node, so having custom settings - beyond setting difficulty via the username - isn't doable for me. That said, my S4 managed to sneak in a share in the last brief failover period. M

Im going to fly from helsinki to oslo sometime soon. If my s4 is bad it is. Theres one pool where it behaves like it allmost should, its Ckpool.
