Considering the price has risen by 10,000x in 7 years, practically no risk compared to any other form of investment.

If there are no risks, bitcoin investment won't be so interesting. Like a game. People are gambling  i think gambling is not risky if you are expert in gambling many people lost their all bitcoin in gambling because they do not have enough knowledge about gambling and for me risk is involve in any activity but we need a good knowledge and information. |

With anything there is risks. In life you have to work out if the risk is worth the gain. Even crossing the road. The risk is getting hurt but a passing car and the gain is to get over the road. You don't gain much but the risk is so small it's almost none existence. With something like Bitcoin there is also a risk. A bigger one but there is also a big reward so I personally feel holding a few Bitcoin is the best thing you can do finically now.

As stated everything has got risk and when it comes to investment surely there will be risk in correspondence to the market fluctuations. Similar is with our bitcoin investment, we don't the end result as well what's gonna happen next minute. The trust we have drives and gives the profit and very few legit investment site were available. It's good to research perfectly and invest, else just hold in your wallet for better safety. |

Basically we don't know the risk in every site if you invest money in a site first is you don't know if the site was trusted there are site that can give you small profit but many site are just scamming people who invested.
Investment was risky because you doesnt have assurance that it will be successful or not. There are sites that always scammed your bitcoin so must be careful. Before you invest your bitcoin. make sure first that the site is trusted and doesnt have any negative experienced. Scammers are anywhere now so be careful. Maybe investment is risky but it is better to invest than to gamble because for me investment can earn a lot of money/bitcoin in a long run, it has risk in choosing of a site to invest but we can check it first before we invest if that site is trusted or not. Maybe by searching through Google or Facebook we may know if that site is scammer or not. |

I do not see any risk in bitcoin because now bitcoin is going very well many people have invested their money in bitcoin and many have started their businesses in bitcoin payment system so it will not drop but will increase more in value in the future.
Yeah for a long length periods investing bitcoin is very good, but if you do short investment in bitcoin, it fluctuations price potential loss your money a part, because sometime it price go down unexpectedly. So if you wanna put investment in bitcoin you must be care full. I agree with you guys, investment in bitcoin is is very good especially if you hold your money for so long in bitcoin you can see the progress of your investment and you invested high amount of money. Just do not be in panic on selling your coin, because it is one of those who really destroy the mind of investors if they see the high is so high. Just stick to it as long as you do not need the money better not get you coin out of your wallet, waiting is worthy in bitcoin guys. |

You said a big true, don't sell your BTCs in panic, don't fear when the BTC price drops suddenly, it's not a signal the currency is dying. Many people surely want you sell your coins in panic, because they will buy it cheaper and hold while you will have nothing... So don't do it. The risk exists, it's not possible to deny it, but it's too low right now with so many people supporting and investing in Bitcoins, not only buying it, but running Bitcoin businesses like mining, exchanges, casinos... Not only Bitcoin, because they deal with AltCoins too, but principally Bitcoin. |

So far bitcoin has been growing so fast it may fluctuates from time to time but the value still in a strong position that investment has the higher chance of success. For me if you were asking how much risk in bitcoin investment as of now I can say its 80% success and 20% failure we'll that's my opinion base on how I see bitcoin in the market  |

I support that everyone should have a complete understanding to your investment before making it, I suggest doing your own risk analysis before making a serious investment in bitcoin.
Currently, bitcoin is very risky, the market is very volatile and can easily lose a significant portion of it's USD value in days, a user should be fully aware of that possibility before investing.

I just wanted to know that,what amount of risk is there in investing in bitcoins.
Right now i am planning to buy btc approx 3-4 btc and just hold them as i guess the price of bitcoin will increase in future and i will get some good profit.But i want to know what is the risk involved.Can bitcoin price decrease and is this right time to buy the bitcoin.

bitcoin is a good investment for long term holding and if you an afford to lose a portion of the investment and still hold in my opinion, previously, even with the major falls in price the recovery happens after a while and even those buying at $1100 a year ago are now in big profit if they held and did not sell, this is not guaranteed though so it is a high risk investment.

the price regularly increase/decrease by %5 or more daily on an even regular base, so you can consider it as risky as stocks (high risk ones), only investing what you can afford to lose is the smartest choice.

If you are going to hold your bitcoins for next 2 to 3 years then there is no risk in investing in bitcoins as if you look at the price before 3 years then you will get clear idea that how high price of bitcoin has gone and same we can expect in next few years too.

I think risk is not only there in bitcoin but always there in all types of investment, and we can only make money if we compromise to take the risk. We need to study the market about bitcoin or any other currency where we want to invest our money. Our experience can really make it more easy to invest our money in a good place from where we have more chances to increase our income. |
