Think of it this way.
In the last round there were 38,962,598 shares contributed to find a single block.
To increase the likelihood that you will find the block, you need to contribute a significant number of shares.
Now, it is entirely possible that you can contribute 1 share and be the one to find the block, but chances are slim.

Now, it is entirely possible that you can contribute 1 share and be the one to find the block, but chances are slim.

Okay I think I get it, I had about 3000 shares of that 14M share round, about 1/13k chance of finding that block.
